Crab Cakes & Flashes

The day then went on as normal for everyone. Crab Cakes went on like his conversation with Flash never happened, while Flash told his friends and the Rainbooms the bad news. Soon enough though, the end of the day came and everyone from Crystal Prep to Canterlot High headed home. Cinch and Bohemia were asleep by the time Crab Cakes returned home and in that time, decided to sing a little song... More specifically, one about his life to reflect on how he got here...

Blurs of foggy days
Years of pain and dread

Crab then heard walking and noticed Cinch, wearing her see-through nightgown, heading to him.

"You don't usually sing that." Cinch said as she sat down beside her husband, "What happened?"

"You know how I used to go down to CHS?"

"Yes, what about it?"

"I actually used to have a friend down there. His was name was Flash Sentry. We became friends when I saved him from a wreck he and his dad got into when he was just a Freshman. His dad didn't make it thought..."

"Oh my..."

"To be honest? We never really were friends. I just went along with it because Flash called me that along with Big Bro."

"Big Bro?"

"I was more of a big brother to him than his real one was as his real one was never really there for him."

"Oh... I see..."

"Well... you know how the Rainbooms confronted me and I told them off some time ago? They told Flash about what happened and..."

"What? What did he do?"

"Came down to Crystal Prep and punched me in the face after I had gone down to the teacher's lounge for a snack."

"WHAT?!"

"It was just after that that we got into an argument. With the way it went? I never wanna see him again. And I made it PERFECTLY clear."

"You did the right thing breaking ties with him."

"I hope I did. Flash, just like the Rainbooms, wasn't even trying to try and speak to me. Well, he was, but I wouldn't exactly call an argument speaking now would I?"

"Nope."

"At this rate, all of my ties with CHS might as well be cut off. It's probably for the best anyways that I cut ties with them."

"I'd say so. If they never bothered to help you during your drug problem or even listen to your reasoning for falling in love with me, then what's the point of even keeping ties with them? Burn your bridges with them and be done with it is what I say, honey."

"Kind of hard to do that when you practically see a CHS student almost everywhere you go." Crab replied

"Fair enough." Cinch sighed, "Fair enough."

"How was Bohemia?" Crab asked

Back with the Rainbooms, they along with Flash met up at sugarcube corner to discuss the way Crab Cakes had been.

"Guys. He's made it clear he was to cut his ties with us and all of CHS. We need to respect his decision no matter how hard it hurts." Flash explained to the group

"We CANNOT give up on him Flash. He might SAY he's okay, but I've seen those eyes before. He's NOT okay." Sunset said

"Maybe he was right. Maybe you girls ARE the problem." Flash stated

"WHAT?!" The Rainbooms went

"How could you say that Flash?! What about everything we've ever done for you?!" Twilight asked

"How about all the problems you caused by you seven sticking your noses where it doesn't belong?!" Flash asked, "Juniper Montage for one!"

"She stole set items! She caused havoc to the entire Daring Do movie set and sent us to a parallel pocket dimension inside that mirror of hers!" Rainbow pointed out

"Yeah, a problem you guys caused in the first place!" Flash said, "If you had just left well enough alone the whole thing could've blown over within a matter of a few seconds or such! And another thing! What about Gloriosa?!"

"She was gonna trap us all in Camp Everfree for the rest of our lives Flash! Might we add that was another instance of us having to save your life?!" Rarity pointed out

"Gloriosa was just a well-intentioned extremist! Come on Rarity, you're a businesswoman! You can't say that well-intentioned extremists aren't gonna happen! And for Pete's sake guys, Filthy Rich had even given a fair ultimatum! It's not his fault that she couldn't come up with the money in the first place!" Flash stated, "If she KNEW she couldn't come up with the money, she should've just sold the camp to him! She could've made a fair amount of money from it and opened up a new one!"

"But that camp held a lot of memories for people!" Sunset argued

"So what?! Even if it held a lot of memories for people, it was still breaking down and need repairs with the money IT DIDN'T HAVE IN THE FIRST PLACE! I swear, the whole place looked like a house of cards. One wrong move or even just a bad sneeze could've sent the whole place crashing down! And besides, even if the old Camp Everfree was gone, a brand NEW Camp Everfree could've given NEW campers NEW memories to share!" Flash said with heavy emphasizes on the word new each time, "You can't keep living in the past forever guys, sometimes you have no choice but to move on and accept that things have changed, and no amount of living in the past is gonna change that."

"What the heck are you getting at?!" Applejack asked

"I'm saying give up on Crab Cakes, accept that he's right, and move on with your lives." Flash said, "I am. Because guess what? The more I think about it? The more I start to realize that he's right."

"Flash, you're being delusional!" Sunset said

"I'm not being delusional! You and your friends are the delusional ones!"

"EXCUSE ME?!" Sunset went

"This isn't like Equestria Sunset! Friendship and forgiveness are NOT gonna solve every problem you run into! You seven need to stop acting like your Equestrian Counterparts, and start acting like real human beings for once!"

"But there are people who could-"

"What if they DON'T want any involvement in friendship?! Have you ever considered that?!" Flash said, "Have you ever considered that your actions could cause harm to others?! Think about the Dazzlings for instance?! You know what happened to them after you cut their connection to their song abilities?!"

"Probably living a good life." Sunset smiled with her friends doing the same and nodding in agreement

"THEY ARE DEAD!"

Sunset and the Rainboom's smiles dropped instantly.

"W-WHAT?!" Sunset shouted

"Because YOU took their only way to eat!"

"B-B-NUT HOW?! CAN'T THEY EAT LIKE US?!" Rainbow shouted as well

"They were creatures from Equestria, Dash! Just what makes you so certain they could eat like we do as well?!"

"Oh my god..." Rarity gasped about to tear up

"B-but they were gonna turn the whole school into mindless zombies!" Sunset argued

"They were just FEEDING! If I had known that I would've offered myself up to them as a snack! Anyone would've! And now thanks to you girls the Dazzlings are DEAD because of you girls and your stupid belief that friendship will solve all your problems! Well, guess what?! Your belief not only left Sunset to turn into modern-day German as she's disgusted by her past and wants nothing to do with it instead of trying to learn from it, caused three innocent creatures to die from hunger, turned Twilight against her own old school when she probably LIKED IT there, caused a well-intentioned extremist seclude herself from the world with her brother being the only known contact to it she has to the outside world and made an extremist fan turn herself into a monster because of you sticking your nose where it didn't belong into other people's affairs!"

"When you put it like that-"

"You guys ARE the villains. You don't SOUND like it. You ARE them."

"Flash how could you say something like that?!!?" Twilight asked

"Simple. Crab Cakes opened up my mind." Flash simply replied as he got up to leave, "For the record guys? I'm going to Crab Cakes to apologize for what I did to him today. NONE of you follow me."

"But-"

"One last thing. You know Sonata Dusk? I figured if Twilight didn't work out for me I could try with her. Hell, she even offered me a date after the Battle of the Bands blew over. Now?"

Sunset covered her mouth.

"THINK ABOUT WHAT I TOLD YOU ALL, HEROES!" Flash said, mockingly saying Heroes before leaving
