Heartache: Cherished Friendship {Book the First}
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterNext Chapter“So, darling, whatever is the matter?” Rarity asked.
Twilight hesitated. She was sitting on her throne around the table with the cutie map, along with her friends. She was grateful that they had managed to meet up, but now that they were all here, including Spike and Starlight, she thought that her nightmares are just stupid dreams and nothing serious. She felt foolish. She felt like a whining baby, who cries just to receive attention.
“Uh,” Applejack said. “Twilight, aren’t ya gonna answer?”
Twilight sighed. It was too late to turn back now.
“Well, girls,” she started. “I’ve been having horrible nightmares.”
She went on to explain her situation. The Mane 5, Starlight, and Spike all listened without interrupting.
“Oh my,” Fluttershy whispered after Twilight finished. “Those nightmares sound horrible!”
“Well, we’re here for ya now!” exclaimed Rainbow hovering over to Twilight. Pinkie nodded excitedly in agreement, and disappeared under the table, popping back up beside Twilight’s chair, giving her quite a scare.
“Of course we are!” Pinkie exclaimed happily. “We’re here for ya for anything!”
Twilight smiled. She already felt better. Soon enough, conversations slipped into different topics, other than her nightmares. During the conversations, however, Pinkie suddenly stopped yapping and stood still, frozen in one place, which was rather unusual. The others noticed, and turned their attention toward her. Pinkie was shuddering. They all knew what that meant. There was something wrong, and Pinkie couldn’t figure out what, and Pinkie knows just about everything. Slowly, Pinkie turned her head towards Twilight, which was rather disturbing, and whispered, “Twilight, be careful.”
Then, she zipped away. It was as if she teleported. One second she was there, the other she was gone. The ponies-and one dragon-stared at the spot where Pinkie was before, then all shrugged it off. All, except Twilight. She knew Pinkie was always weird, but that was unusual. What did she mean by being careful?
That night, Twilight was in bed. She felt a wave of peace. After meeting up with her friends this morning, she was confident and reassured that her nightmares were over. She had no way of knowing this of course, but she was hopeful. She closed her eyes, and soon fell asleep.
