Elements of Insanity: Element of Sorrow

Rainbow Dash's POV.
Welp... Here we are. Well, by that I mean me and Twilight in the graveyard. I found Twilight a few hours ago, thanks to my speed and her magic. She sent a flare into the sky, which caught my attention, and we never left each other's side since.

We came to the graveyard, trying to find the others, but no such luck. Twilight used her magic to track down the dark magic we were missioned to find and came across this graveyard. Maybe our friends were here too.

"Hmmm..." Twilight spoke up, rubbing her chin in thought.

I turned to her, "What is it, Twi?"

"Some of these graves feel empty." She answered, "Usually, when a Pony, or person dies, their souls leave a magical residual energy, indicating the dead from the living." She pointed to four of the graves, "These four graves have no energy. Like their souls have left no energy behind."

"Can you tell what happened?" I asked.

She nodded, "Yes. Before we arrived, I learned a spell that can give me images of the past of a certain object. Who has been here. Who has touched it. What happened during the time it's been here."

I smiled, "Well, don't sit around explaining. Get to it, Twi."

Twilight smiled back and nodded. She walked over to the first gravestone. She closed her eyes and her horn glowed in its pink-ish magical aura. She placed her hoof over the tombstone and focused.

I gave it a look over. The name written on the tombstone was scratched out. It was like someone didn't want to know who this person was.

Twilight's horn stopped glowing. She opened her eyes, removed her hand from the tombstone and gasped, "No!"

"What's wrong?" I asked, taking a step back from startle.

"Rarity was here." She answered, "Whomever this spirit was, it fused with Rarity and made her create such death, destruction and chaos. Poor Rarity..."

"I thought that was Discord's thing. Creating chaos." I spoke up.

"Not since Fluttershy reformed him." Twilight pointed out. I nodded in memory of Fluttershy's courage in turning Discord to good by becoming his friend.

I looked over and pointed another gravestone, "What about that one?"

Twilight walked over to the tombstone and repeated her actions. Her horn glowed, she closed her eyes and touched the stone. After a few seconds, Twilight opened her eyes, took a step back and gasped, "Fluttershy turned too! She was the source of the loud screams we heard."

I gasped at the news, "Fluttershy too?"

She looked at the next tombstone, which was two rows above this one, "Let's try that one."

I followed her to the gravestone and she repeated the spell. Within seconds, Twilight opened her eyes, took three steps back and gasped with tears in her eyes, "Ellie..."

I gasped, "Ellie turned too?"

"Worse." Twilight answered, "She merged with a spirit of a legend. She merged with Ophelia."

"Ophelia?" I repeated, "As in the Drowned Queen Ophelia?"

Twilight nodded, "Yes-"

Suddenly, there was a rustling noise, cutting Twilight off.

"What was that?" Twilight asked me.

I shrugged, "Dunno." I looked behind me, "Probably just a squirrel..."

Suddenly, Twilight and I felt something standing behind us. We turned and it was another Pony. She looked a lot like Pinkie, but with her mane and tail flat, and her colors were all different.

Her fur coat was dark pink with a light pink underbelly. Blood red mane, tail, socks, nails and hooves. Her eyes were still light blue.

She grinned at us, like an evil Cheshire Cat, started glowing red with yellow eyes and kicked me into a nearby gravestone. Then she tackled Twilight onto the ground.

The next thing I knew, the gravestone I was kicked into started glowing green. I opened my eyes to see what was going on and a pair of black ear pieces appeared above my head.

Mechanical voices spoke from the grave and it sent chills up my spine. "Guys, I don't like this." I told Twilight and Pinkie.

Suddenly the ears dug into my skull and I blacked out from the burning pain and pulsing power surging through me.

Pinkis Cupcake's POV.
The ear pieces dug into Rainbow's head. She screamed in pain and a white flash of light erupted from her.

As the light faded, what stood in Rainbow Dash's place was a cyborg pegasus mare. Black ear pieces replaced her ears. Her fur was a pale mechanical blue. Her wings and hooves were a darker color. Her mane and tail have gained a grey hue. Her Cutie Mark looked like her old Cutie Mark, now digitized.

Rainbow opened her eyes and looked us. She grew a smile of insanity.

"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight cried in disbelief.

"Hehe... Who's on fire now, you freaking moron?" Rainbow asked with a mechanical undertone, as she aimed a gun at Twilight.
