Just Two Or Three Shots.
My name is Vinyl Scratch, or you may know me by my stage name DJ P0n3.
And i’m gonna give you the reason why I stopped drinking.
It was about four or five years ago. I was doing bringing down the house, everyone was having a good time. Dancing, talking and, drinking.
It was loud tunes and everything,then I thought to myself “Buck im thirsty”
So I looked out in the crowd their mood changed, it was even better than earlier
It was changing by the second, so I put my record on repeat and Trotted over to the bar and got myself a drink. It was just a shot, i downed it and got another, then another. I told myself “Only two or three shots”.
Then some mare said to me, obviously drunk “Why has the great P0n3 only had three shots?”
I told the mare that I only get shots.
Then the mare said that “She’s gonna turn it up a notch”. Then she ordered like three or four tall glasses of something, I forgot what it was then gave me one of them. She kept telling me to drink it I kept denying until it got annoying. I downed it pretty quickly, it was pretty good, the mare gave me another which like the other I downed. After that throughout the night the mare would find me just to give me something to drink.
And by the end of my DJ’ing shift i was a complete mess, could barely walk straight and couldn’t think like a normal pony. As I made my way home I got lost, So i texted my roommate(Who was Octavia at the time and I was head over hooves for her) to come pick me up.
She came and got me, on the way home she kept telling me that I was stupid for getting so drunk but that she was also worried about me. When we got home I went and sat down, and after thinking about it I went to her room and drunkenly confessed my love for her then pulled her into a kiss, In which she lightly pushed me away and told me that she didn’t feel the same way.
Something inside me changed, something snapped and then I pulled her into another kiss, this one being more rough, she pushed me away again, The next thing I did was unforgivable.
I grabbed her cello in my magic and threatened her saying “Love me or Marie will go bye bye”. I didn’t wait for an answer.
I threw her cello into the wall, it exploded into many pieces, Octavia ran over to it and started sobbing. She then yelled at me telling me to never talk to her again and that she’ll be moving out, then I realized that not that I only lost a roommate, I lost a life long friend.
I ran to my room crying, the next morning I woke up, Octavia was nowhere to be seen.
Then I found a note from Octavia it was about how she is moving out and is looking for a place to live.
I started tearing up again and sat down in the kitchen, Octavia was kind enough to make me a plate of food before she left even though I took her livelihood and basically spat on it.
After that I went to the market just to do some looking around, then I saw a mare that looked familiar, then it hit me. It was the mare from the club! I trotted over to her and said some things that I regret saying. Then I hit her. Multiple times in the face then walked away.
I haven’t seen or heard from that mare since then. As for Octavia, she got a place in Canterlot and is doing well for herself. I also made a vow and promised myself to never take another drink of alcohol again, And I haven’t.
I went to rehab and everything, yet i’m still stuck down in Manehatten. I get odd jobs here and there, sometimes i think to myself, What would life be like if I just took my two or three shots back to my deck?

One Year After Vinyl’s Story
My name is Vinyl Scratch.
I’m a former DJ and a former alcoholic.
I was a DJ for almost ten years.
After i retired from the game, in my last gig I did I shared my knowledge to other up and coming DJ’s such as DJ MC-W15H and DJ M3RKY.
After I told my story I got a huge surge in popularity
Soon enough i was getting booked to do shows, parties and even fillies and colts birthdays
But none of that means anything to me.
Well not as much as this one thing that happened.
Six years after Octavia left for Canterlot, she came back to Manehatten to congratulate me and my success as a DJ that did just two or three shots every show to a mainstay name in ponies homes, even ponies in Ponyville and Canterlot knew who I was, it was a great feeling.
Not as great as finally talking to Octavia again, but it was still pretty great.
Octavia told me that she was doing well for herself, she said that she was in the Canterlot Royal Symphony or something like that, i congratulated her for her success of having to deal with me.
After catching up a bit we went out for some food.
We continued talking about how the past six or seven years have been, she actually forgot about me for those years, until i told my story, she said it was inspiring, and that it reminded her of that day and how awful it was having to leave her best friend of twenty three years,(We met when we were five) but now they are both thirty five finally speaking to each other again.
Then Octavia asked a question that shocked me, she asked me to move in with her again and make her life interesting again, i instantly accepted.
Now we are both living happy lives in Canterlot, together as friends.
Maybe one day hopefully more but only time will tell.
I guess this is the end of my story.
