“Just hit your head, but you’re fine, right, Twi?”

“You really had me worried there for a moment.”

Twi. Twilight. Not her. Definitely not her. Ever. Never.

She opened her eyes to a library and a cyan pony standing close to her.

“Welcome back, sleepyhead.”

“Still walking,” she said, in a voice that caused Rainbow Dash’s next sentence to die on her lips. “Still infinite. Still white walls stretching and then more and forever more.”

What?

She raised her head, attempting to stand up and then she was staring down at the bed and saw Twilight’s attempt to stand up failing, falling back into the bed’s covers. She felt a certain surprise at how Twilight looked from this perspective, even though it definitely wasn’t her.

TWILIGHT,” Twilight shrieked, “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? Y-you’re in there now, right? Twilight? Switch us back!”

“I didn’t do anything intentionally,” she said in Rainbow Dash’s voice with Rainbow Dash’s lips while looking with Rainbow Dash’s body down at the mare whom Rainbow Dash thought was her. “But I don’t think it matters I am still walking along white walls of infinity-”

“Twilight,” Twilight said again, “this is not funny. Okay? I am sorry I caused this accident, but please, switch us back! I didn’t even know you could do this! This is so creepy!”

“Didn’t know I could do this,” she replied with Rainbow Dash’s voice. “Can’t do this. Twilight can’t, anyway. Rainbow Dash, I am still walking. Not making this up. I can see it. I am it. A plane and white walls and I have been walking for years and years and so many years and not yet forever, because no time is yet forever, only now I also am here.”

“I also hit my head, didn’t I?” Twilight responded, or rather she should call her Rainbow Dash because she was clearly Rainbow Dash on the inside. “I also hit my head and we’re both in the hospital but we’re going to be fine and I just have some stupid crazy dreams. Yeah! That’s what’s going on. Just... gotta wait...”

Rainbow Dash wouldn’t be of any help. That much was clear.

She turned around, rushing down the library stairs. Once there, she crashed into the front door, realizing too late that she couldn’t open it by magic. She shook her head, ignoring Twilight’s voice calling her from upstairs, and opened the door with her muzzle. She stepped outside. Could she fly? She tried, and didn’t even fall. She clearly couldn’t. Flying required practice, and she had none. It was remarkable that she could even walk without falling.

Great. And she still could feel the other half of herself, still walking, still seeing, still being driven insane. Fantastic.

Now what?
