Twilight put the last page aside. Slowly, she lit her horn in a purple glow, rubbing her brow. Cold Front was watching her, carrying a kettle in her magic. On closer inspection, the item was shaking a little.

“I, um, I made some tea, while you were r-reading,” she said in her soft voice. “Do you want some?”

For a few more moments, Twilight’s eyes lingered on the script, then she pulled them away, shaking her head.

“... sure. Thanks.”

“Well, here you go.” Cold put the kettle on the table; only when Twilight looked from the item to her did she realize that something was missing. “Oh, right!” She dashed into the kitchen, returning with two matching cups.

“Thanks,” Twilight repeated politely.

“Um, remember what you promised before you agreed to read?” Cold asked carefully, as she poured for both of them.

“I’m not mad,” Twilight said assuringly. “Just... a bit weirded out. ... The erotic scene near the end. Why?”

“Well, um, it’s meant to... be d-disturbing. You’re supposed to wonder whether Rarity is... really like this. Maybe she is? Do you know for sure?”

“Err. I guess not?”

“Exactly! Also, with the premise, it’s just somewhere where I had to go! I had to juxtapose infinity with the strongest Equestrian sensation there is! And... don’t you... or I mean do you... did you... find it... hot?”

She blushed, always more noticeable for a pony with a white coat, overplaying her nerves by taking a sip of her tea, even though it was still too hot to drink.

“Not... really.” Twilight sounded apologetic. “But it’s not my fetish. Why the part with Pinkie Pie in the end?”

“Same... thing.” Cold seemed even more embarrassed now. “What if she really does write stuff like this? And what if you’re really just in a story?”

“I’m conscious,” Twilight pointed out.

“Good point. But still... have you read ’Manifold Technology: The path that Equestria never went down’?”

“Yeah.”

“It’s a fascinating book, isn’t it?”
