Chapter 1: Apple Rot Problem
I wake up in one of Applejack’s trees, my stomach growls at me, I grabbed an apple of the tree and bite into it. I snarled as a foul taste filled my mouth, I look at it to see it was rotten on the inside. I tossed the apple on the ground in disgust and quickly resumed my nap. I woke up and as I moved, I felt a sharp pain course through my forehoof, I looked up and screamed, it was black and rotten. I bolted out of the tree, and couldn’t find anypony.
Wait Applejack must be around somewhere, I flew over the orchard slowly until I saw Applejack bucking a tree. I looked at my still rotten forehoof only to find it had spread up my entire leg. I flew down rapidly only barely stopping behind Applejack. Applejack shouted as she turned around “Rainbow, what in the name of Tartarus are doing, flying that fast towards me?”
I said in panicked tone “Look at this, you’ll understand!”
I showed her my foreleg and her eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, She shouted “What in Discord’s name happened?”
I explained to her as calmly as I could “Well I woke up and wanted a snack so I had a bite of an apple but it was rotten, then I fell back to sleep only to wake with my forehoof rotting.”
Applejack gasped “This is bad, we need to speak with Granny Smith now!” She grabbed my good hoof and dragged me into her home. She shouted “Granny Smith, we have a big problem!”
I watched as the elderly mare slowly trotted down the stairs. Granny Smith trotted over to us. Applejack said as she showed Granny Smith my hoof “Look at this, this ain’t normal!”
Granny Smith ordered Applejack as she looked at my hoof closely “Get me 3 rotten eggs, a bucket of compost and another of fertiliser.”
Granny Smith said “Follow me, we need to get ya comfortable.” I entered the kitchen only to see a rocking chair there. Granny Smith said “Take a seat.”
I did as she said and then cried out “Why is this happening, I am the peak of fitness, I shouldn’t be getting sick like this.”
Granny Smith sighed “Ya have contracted Apple Rot, I don’t know how you did, apples are the only things that get affected by Apple Rot. I think ya might need to get some tests done after this is over.”
I sighed, I hated having anypony testing my health and I knew Twilight be the one I’d have to see. Applejack barged in carrying a lot of stuff, I didn’t know what any of it was. Granny Smith then began grabbing pots, pans and bottles. She then mixed some of the stuff Applejack brought into a bowl. I looked at my back only to see my feathers rotting, I cried, my wings granted me flight, my freedom and that was being taken away before my eyes.
Granny Smith shouted “We’re done.” After getting over the shock of my wings being destroyed, I noticed 3 of legs where rotting, then the pain struck at me. I gritted my teeth.
Applejack said “Drink this, Granny Smith said it would help.”
I looked at the disgusting bowl of goop, I chugged the whole thing and forced it down. It tasted horrible but to my surprise my legs didn’t just stop rotting but healed completely, my wings were the same. I shouted as I gave them both a huge hug “Thank you, I’m so grateful!”
Applejack said with a smile pushing me off “Well, you can stay in the house with me, I will need to take you to Twilight tomorrow to see what’s wrong with you, this ain’t normal.”
I sighed “I know, it’s just I’m worried she will do something, you know how she gets.”
Applejack said “That’s why Ah’m coming, because you need my help and friends help each other, I’ll make sure she doesn't go too far.” I nodded with a smile only to realise that she only had one bed. She couldn’t mean us doing that, I cleared the silly thought from my mind.
I asked “So where am I going to sleep?”
Applejack said “Right here with me, come on you have never slept on a bed with another pony before.” I blushed and my wings popped out. Applejack laughed as she said “Ah’m just messing with you, come on Dash lighten up, it’s just a bed.” I reluctantly climbed in.
She climbed in afterwards and she quickly fell asleep, I on the other hand couldn't get over what she said, I blushed slightly. Wait why am I blushing ? I don’t need a partner, I’m Rainbow Dash the fastest flier in Equestria. At the same time maybe having somepony to compete with is not so bad and she is beautiful in her own way, why am I thinking like this, this is stupid. Maybe I am just attracted to her physically, I’ll get over it tomorrow.

I woke to see the bed empty next to me, for some strange reason I felt disappointed. I pushed myself to my hooves and sighed, I didn’t really want to deal with today but I knew I had to.
I heard a pair of hooves gallop up the stairs, I stared at Applejack who was smiling at me, she asked mockingly “So your finally up, I wonder how you ever make it to Wonderbolt training sessions with the way you sleep in?”
I gasped in mock horror “Oh you wound me dear Applejack.” We both burst into laughter.
Applejack said after we both recovered from laughter “We should go and see Twilight before she becomes engrossed in a research project.”
I snickered “Using your big words now A.J.”
Applejack snarled “You know Ah learned some things from my uncle and Aunt Orange you know.”
I said “I know, I was just joking now let’s get this over with.” We arrived at Twilight’s Castle.
I knocked on the door, I heard a familiar voice call “I’m coming, Twilight’s busy with Starlight practising magic.”Me and Applejack groaned as we heard the bitterness oozing from those last few words. I glared at the unicorn mare with the broken horn.
Applejack said “Tempest, we have a problem and only Twilight can help, could you please get her for me?”
Tempest said looking away from the pair “I will, thanks Applejack for trying to accept me.” Applejack nudged me and I shook my head, I did not trust that mare and nopony would make me. We watched as Tempest left the room, to get Twilight
Applejack scowled “Rainbow Dash, she is trying her best, it’s been 3 months and you haven’t shown her the inch of respect.”
I snarled “You don’t remember what she did to us?”
Applejack shouted “Rainbow Danger Dash, you don’t get it do you. We give others second chances, think about it we reformed Discord and he wasn’t even a pony.”
I snapped “He only hurt Ponyville, she hurt everypony in Equestria.”
Applejack decked me with her hoof. She snarled “Without her we would all be dead.”
I wiped my bleeding face with my hoof and screamed as I noticed my hoof was covered in rainbow syrup.
Twilight asked in a firm tone as entered the room “What is going on here?”
Applejack said “We were arguing about Tempest and I decked Rainbow’s muzzle and she started bleeding.”
Twilight frowned as she asked “I hope you didn’t come here just to fight over trivial things.”
I said through my bleeding muzzle “Wa cae hee si coud gt hlp fm yo beuse I cugt aplert ad I nd hlp.”
Twilight asked confused “Um, okay, what am I supposed to do?!”
Applejack said “Rainbow caught Apple Rot and we are here to determine why, I thought you might be able to help.”
Twilight asked “Isn’t Apple Rot only supposed to occur in apples?”
Applejack said “It’s supposed to, but for someone reason Dash caught it after eating a rotten apple, even though we cured it, we need an explanation.”
Twilight frowned “Has Discord been snooping around, this could be his doing?”
A voice snarled “Twilight I’m hurt, you really think I did this?” Discord glared at her as he floated down using an umbrella. I had no idea where he came from.
Twilight said with a hint of venom in her voice “You are the type.”
Discord replied coldly “I do things for fun, this is not fun Twilight, poor Dash here is bleeding and has something happening to her, shouldn’t that be our focus instead of arguing.”
Twilight blinked confused before she asked “Since when did you start making sense?”
Discord snarled “Since one of my good friends is suffering.” He clicked his claws and my face had stopped bleeding.
I said finally able to speak properly “Thanks Discord.”
Discord clicked his fingers again and he suddenly had a lab coat on. He summoned a vial out of thin air and grabbed a drop of my rainbow syrupy blood off my hooves. I asked nervously “Umm, can I wash my hooves?”
Discord said “Of course, go I will need to do a genetic analysis. It will be done by the time you get back.” I left only to hear Twilight shouting, probably about how that is impossible. I wipe the syrupy goop of my hooves, I sighed at least this couldn't get any worse, I thought (Oh now, I just jinxed it didn’t I?)
I sighed, I knew I at that time it wasn’t going to be good. I trotted down the stairs. Twilight asked in an exasperated tone “How did you perform multiple genetic analyses within the period of 10 minutes?’
Discord laughed “Twilight I’m the Lord of Chaos, I break logic, that’s how.”
I asked “What’s the result?”
Discord’s laugh disappeared and that worried me immediately. He said in an unusually serious tone “This is bad, your DNA is a perfect resemblance to a Zap Apple but it has been shifted to behave like a Pegasi by magic.”
I shouted “Does this mean I’m technically a Zap Apple!”
Twilight said “Yes, it does but we don’t have to tell anypony, we can hide this between our friend group.”
I thought (This is just bad dream, tomorrow morning I’ll wake and this will never have happened)
Discord said “That is not the worst part, the worst part is that magic keeping you pegasi is wearing off, look at your back.” I turned around to see several feathers falling off.
I asked “What do I do?”
Discord said “Well, you will need to find the unicorn who cast the enchantment, I can tell the magic coming off you is unicorn based.”
Applejack asked “Um, what do you want me to do?”
Discord said “I need you to take Dash, keep her safe” he then turned to Twilight “You should begin to find out who cast that spell.”
Twilight said “I’m on it.”
Discord shouted smirking “Operation: Save Rainbow Dash is a go!” I let out a slight giggle at my silly friend.

Yes I'm including Discord, in think story, I do think if something serious came up that endangered his friends he would be serious.
