Twilight had continued to dabble in powerful magic and thus Midnight Sparkle walked across the crystal prep recreational area towards the track and field. She saw in the distance Sour Sweet, Sunny Flare, Sugarcoat, Lemon Zest, and Indigo Zap, grouped together in the middle of the field. They were meeting on the weekend to train, as they were in the habit of doing. No one else would be present to see what was about to happen.
When Midnight was close enough that they would almost have an easy time spotting her, she stood still. She could sense that they were comfortable, in their own home field and enjoying themselves. She held out her left hand in their direction as if they were in the palm of her hand, and then deliberately moved her right hand like a claw over them. A large black orb appeared around the five of them, sealing them inside it before they could react.
With a breath of satisfaction, Midnight levitated into the sky, looking down at the field to plan her arena. She made portals for black walls to be created from, lifting them up with gestures of her arm, until the arena was about thirty feet by thirty feet. One of the walls had an ornate wide section at its center for her to sit or stand upon at a comfortable vantage point of about ten feet.
As she descended to her post, she waved a hand to dismiss the black orb. The five of them looked around confused before their eyes trained upon her. As her boots touched down on the wall, she sat down cross-legged in a meditative pose. They walked towards her to get a better look.
“I have chosen you today for an experiment,” she spoke loudly enough for them to hear. “I selected the five of you because you are some of the most strong-willed individuals that crystal prep has to offer.”
Some of them folded their arms. Sour Sweet said, “Hey, we know you!” her tone changed. “And you’re an evil, sadistic bitch.”
“That takes care of introductions,” said Midnight calmly. “I like to know how my prey reacts to me. Is there anything else you want to add?”
Sugarcoat soon spoke up, “Just tell us what you’re planning then.”
Midnight nodded, pausing for a moment. “…I will tell you now, that it is a given, that each of you will be dying.”
Indigo looked somewhat surprised by this response.
“Then what’s the experiment?” asked Sugarcoat flatly.
Midnight chuckled. “My game is simple, you either die with virtue or you die without. If you remain strong-willed, don’t give in, and don’t wish to die, then you die with the virtue of a warrior. If you do wish to die or bow down to me, then you die a slut.” She paused for a moment to let that sink in, noting they were still trying to understand what she was saying. “This is an exercise in self-preservation. If you serve only your own basic instincts without backing down, then you win. If you try to think your way out of this, either by begging for mercy or seeking to be released by death in a future moment, then you lose. It won’t be a complicated game; I will walk through what is expected of you in each step.”
They looked at each other questioningly, before Indigo addressed her again. “What exactly are you getting out of this?”
“I know you’re going to think this is a bullshit reason to have to die, but I want to see if your paltry efforts will be enough get me off. I am exploring the extremes of non-consensual predator/prey dynamics and I’m not just going to sit in an armchair and theorize when I could be killing people. That brings us to the experiment. I’m not seeking the impossible from you; I’m going for your best efforts. This is to see what you are capable of.”
“It looks like she’s going to kill us and there’s nothing we can do,” Sugarcoats assessed.
“That’s horrible,” uttered Sunny Flare.
“Actually,” said Indigo, “I’m not as afraid as I thought I would be in this situation. I guess fearing something and being in real danger are two different things?”
Sugarcoat looked to be deep in thought for a moment. “In extreme circumstances, people have been known to feel no fear at all. Fear can cause mental paralyzation, which is counterproductive to self-preservation. If for example you’re hanging from a cliff, you’ll simply climb back up the cliff without hesitation and without thinking. It’s one of our basic survival instincts.”
Midnight nodded. “Yes, that’s why I’ve heavily analyzed what circumstances would capitalize on this effect. Also, you five have no reason to regret being in this situation because I made sure you all had nothing to do with the decision. I gave no foreshadowing, no clues, no evidence. I did not want to see you die from you own incompetence to put two and two together. That makes you untainted specimens since you are not lemmings that willingly walk into death. For a proper experiment on self-preservation, I had to be sure.”
They gave some strange looks amongst each other. Sunny Flare looked to Midnight, her voice ever so slightly shaky. “Aren’t we friends with you or with Twilight?” she asked. “You don’t sound like you have anything against us.”
“I appreciate your attempt at diplomacy, but if I show any capacity for friendship at all, then you are simply going to try to think your way out of this situation by trying to find the perfect words to say to beg and supplicate for mercy. Since that would completely invalidate the entire purpose of the experiment, there is no chance of that happening.”
“So we’re going back to the basics then, not using our brains or higher cognitive thoughts at all?” asked Lemon Zest, putting on her headphones. “I can deal with that. Let’s get on with it then, what’s up first?”
All of a sudden, a human-sized shadow wraith formed in front of her with two scythe-like appendages that sparked with crackling energy and electricity. It stuck one tip of its arm into her shoulder, causing her to scream and jump backwards onto the grass. She felt a hand to her shoulder, feeling no wound. She yelled, “It’s like being electrocuted. It’s like every reflex to get away was triggered at once.”
“Yes, I decided that this would be ideal for the first challenge, and the goal is, naturally, to get away from the pain. I figured this would get you in touch with the animal inside you that you may have lost touch with. The pain will be about equal to the worst pain that you’ll be feeling in all of my experiments, so do not catastrophize and extrapolate with those little brains of yours. I’m thinking ten minutes of this would suffice for the data I need to collect.”
As she spoke this, a number of more wraiths appeared that seemed to have the same deliberate agenda. The five of them started backing away and evading, not wanting to know what the first shock would feel like. It didn’t take long before the wraiths managed to make contact with each of them, before things got hectic. The five of them were screaming intermittently in a mad dash to get away from the shocks, looking all around to make sure they were clear and safe.
Eventually it began to look like the five of them were completely immersed and focused on the act of getting away, as if they had resigned themselves to their reflexes and had gotten used to the fact that this is what was happening to them right now.
Midnight lifted a hand to dismiss the wraiths. “The first challenge is over. Tell me what you have learned.”
They didn’t respond for a few minutes as they stopped to catch their breaths and congregate back into a group. A few of them hugged each other in a kind of firm awkward motion as if they were new to having bodies, not caring much about gentleness and extricating themselves quickly for other stimuli.
Sugarcoat spoke first. “I learned that I’m like an animal who wants to avoid pain, and that’s there’s nothing wrong with that. If that’s all I am in the moment then that’s all I am. In a way, it’s like it doesn’t even matter anymore. And I wanted it to stop of course, but in a way it stopped mattering that I wanted it to stop because there was nothing I could do about it. So, I can’t really explain what it felt like. I’ve probably already botched it anyway.”
Sunny flare added. “All I learned is that I don’t like getting shocked.”
Midnight nodded. “Hmmm… very well. That’s enough data so it’s time to move on. The next one will be asphyxiation. I’m going to force choke all of you with an incorporeal force that will impair your breathing significantly. You won’t have a means of avoiding the torture; there will be absolutely nothing you can do about it. This one will go on for a long time. Your only job will be to try to keep breathing anyway and refrain from doing anything rash like committing suicide. I think this will be upsetting for most of you, but it will be hard to fail. It will accomplish a lot of the same goals as the first challenge.”
Nobody said anything. Midnight outstretched her hand and made a gripping motion. All of them felt their throat tighten and their lungs expand no farther than a third of what they used to. Most of them sat down, some kneeling. Indigo was the first to let herself collapse to the ground, dumbly. She started out lying on her stomach and quickly shifted positions. The rest of them followed suit, most commonly in the fetal position. Midnight was very observant to make sure none of them were able to cope and would tighten her grip further if they looked like they were almost feeling okay.
Every ten minutes or so, they’d take a break to crawl or kneel in the hopes of breathing better. Indigo had resorted to counting to ten in her head, using the logic that if she could survive just ten seconds, she could survive any duration. However, she could never quite count to ten successfully because it was as if the force choke tightened when she got past five and she’d give up. Maybe the point was to give up. She seemed to go on living anyway so what did it matter. In a way, this actually started to make her feel euphoric. Of course it was going to be endless torture, that was the only constant and that meant she was alive. She laughed ever so lightly in triumph, earning her more choking.
Finally, midnight clapped her hands and all of the invisible forces dissipated. “That concludes the second challenge. How are you feeling?”
“Asphyxiation basically got us all high,” said Sugarcoat. “So yeah, I guess I feel happy to be breathing normally again. At least, under the circumstances.”
Indigo laughed. “Yeah, the electrocution was a rush, and now your asphyxiation got us high. Was this actually your plan? What other fun things do you have in store for us?”
Midnight Sparkle frowned. “I can see right through your coping mechanism. You’d best not test me, because I have a lot more in my arsenal than mere shocks. At any rate, this next challenge is going to be a freebie so enjoy it while you still can.” She raised a hand and eight gargoyle-like statues appeared in the arena, two near each wall. Midnight continued, “The goal with this one is also to get you in touch with the animal inside. As the numbers ran down, each of them braced themselves and kneeled down, covering up their heads with their arms. Indigo closed her eyes as her mind went silent, bracing for the bullets to run through her flesh the moment she reached zero.
“Zero.” There was a pause, and then nothing happened. Indigo opened her eyes.
Midnight tucked her gun away. “Oh, you’re still gonna die soon. I just wanted to see you brace for the end. It gives me more data on your self-preservation.”
Indigo burst out laughing. She was the only one who was.
Midnight waved an arm dismissively and sat back down. “It wasn’t intended to be funny, but no matter, that part of your reaction is irrelevant. We have a really important experiment left to complete. There’s…”
Indigo interrupted her. “Where’s the part where you actually kill us? I’d like to know.”
Midnight continued, “I’m afraid you’re misinterpreting my methods. The part where you die is coming up I assure you.”
“Yeah? Well I think you’re…” she stopped when she was poked by Sunny Flare. She whispered for her to shut up.
“If you think you are so untouchable, then you have nothing to lose by taking this seriously do you?” asked Midnight. She paused for silence as Indigo seemed to back down. “Thank you. I believe the stress of the day is making you delirious, but your experience is valuable to me anyway. As I’m sure you have noticed, you are at least untouchable in the sense that you are whatever you are in the moment. That’s kind of a blasé observation. It is not contingent on whether you realize it or not anyway. So don’t be arrogant, the things that are going on around you are very real too.” Indigo seemed to understand.
Midnight addressed everyone. “As I was about to say, there’s just one challenge left, it’s the finale. The fifth challenge is where I release five snakes into the arena and they devour you alive, digest you, and then you die. In this one you combine everything you’ve learned into one. First, you will avoid getting eaten because getting eaten means pain. Second, you will digest in acid which is a stimulus you cannot remove. Third, you will finger yourself for the raw sensation of pleasure. Fourth, you will brace for the end of your life just like you did earlier. You will die with the honor of an uncompromised will since you were true only to your basic instincts.”
Sugarcoat nodded. “Oh, now it all comes together. There actually was a reason behind everything she did. Unfortunately for us, that is the nail in our coffin.”
Midnight nodded. “It’s true. I always follow through in making sure my experiments are meaningful and carried out to the end.” She lifted a hand and five giant black snakes slithered into the arena, appearing out of portals in the walls.
The snakes moved around like sharks while the five of them huddled together.
“I will say no more,” asserted Midnight. “You five are to react to your deaths in whatever way you see fit while I observe.” She reached down two fingers near her clitoris, tentatively ready to pleasure herself.
As the snakes moved closer, they moved their heads to eye level with their prey. When they got too close, the five of them scattered a bit and Sour Sweet was the first one to trip over a snake’s tail. Another snake was already standing by to lower its mouth over her head and it caught her up to her shoulders. It began to slowly inch its way over her naked form.
Sunny Flare ran up to her. “Guys, they got Sour Sweet. We need to help her,” she yelled, grabbing her kicking feet.
Sugarcoat jogged over to her. “There’s nothing we can do to save her from the snakes maw. Also, Lemon Zest and Indigo have just been eaten.”
Sunny stopped pulling for a moment, while Sour Sweet’s feet still kicked in her hands. She released them and backed up, turning around to see that the gargoyle statues were still in place. “Sugarcoat, please follow me!”
They both ran up to the statue and Sunny Flare quickly mounted it. “Sugarcoat, you have to cover me. You might even have to sacrifice yourself for me,” she said while thrusting.
Sugarcoat’s cheeks reddened. “Um… yeah… I can do that.”
One of the two unfed snakes approached, and Sugarcoat held her hands out to stop it and guard Sunny. It tried to raise itself past her to Sunny’s level and Sugarcoat tackled it with all of her might, sending them sprawling upon the ground. She didn’t have a strong physique because she was kind of nerdy, but she gave it everything she had.
Sunny Flare moaned. “I… I’m getting there… please just keep them off me a little longer.”
The snake in Sugarcoat’s arms tried to slither away towards the statue, so she knew she had to do something drastic. She quickly scrambled to put her face in front of the snake. “Eat me,” she commanded. “I’m the one that’s food.”
The snake hesitated, before opening it’s maw for her. She pushed the top of her head right into it and didn’t stop pushing herself in until she was up to her waist, before relaxing her efforts. She writhed what was left of her body futilely.
The last unfed snake elevated its head to the height of Sunny Flare. “I’m almost there… I’m so close…” The snake lowered itself over the top half of her body quickly, causing her hands to release their grip of the horns. Then it tightened its bite and pulled her clean off of the dildo, her slit now pointing upwards to the open air. She cummed, shooting projectile fluids that hit Midnight Sparkle in the shoulder and face, some of it flying past her.

"You’re glowing and smell like you spent the last two hours fucking." Came Sunset's voice drawing the attention of human twilight to her spot leaning on a tree. Sunset’s height was noticeably taller and breast and hips as well having grown fuller giving her a more hour glass figure.
"Is that what the end results will look like for me too? If so this experiment might warrant further studies." Said Human Twilight.

"I guess you’re a little fired up? Well let's go back to my house and work that out while the dazzlings tie up the loose ends of eliminating those who are fully aware of magic." Said Sunset holding Midnight's face against her now double D cup breasts.
"Who is assigned the old bitch?" Asked Midnight as she snuggled up tight to sunset her head resting on Sunset's right breast as they started to walk.
"Sonata after she hits mall, she will give Juniper a onetime chance to join us then clean the place out and after a stop at a taco shop on the way give Principle Snitch a good riddance on your behalf. Adagio is handling Gloryiosa for the camp clean up, and Aria is getting payback on vinyl and the rest of the students at the party as we speak. So we can enjoy the night and welcome our Princess and her advanced forces in the morning." Said Sunset.
