Twilight woke up first, sunlight peering into her eyes. She snuggled up to the pegasus holding her. She felt peaceful, it felt so right. She knew she had made the right choice when she saw her partners sleepy smile. Derpy’s eyes began to open. She looked at Twilight and smiled.

“Hey”, she softly said.

“Hey, yourself”, Twilight responded.

Derpy stroked her mane and spoke softly,

“That was the best night of my life, second to having Dinky”, she grin happily.

Twilight nodded, that statement was relatable.

“I’m glad you came into my life, Derpy”, Twilight said dreamily.

“I’m glad to hear that Twi’”, Derpy said calmly.

Suddenly walked in,

“Hey Derpy, have you seen Twi-“, he stopped, taking in the scene before him.

He became glass-eyed, and simply backed out of the room.

Twilight chuckled,

“I guess he couldn’t handle it”, she said.

Derpy looked at Twilight worrily,

“Do you think he approves? And what about Dinky? Or your friends? Or the rest of Ponyville?!”, she said before Twilight stopped her.

“Derpy, honey, I don’t think that’ll be a problem. Ponies around here are pretty understanding, especially considering we have some mare couples in town. As for my friends, I’m sure they’ll be supportive. As for Dinky, maybe we should wait to tell her”, she said.

“This is why I love you, Twilight Sparkle”, she said while kissing Twilight’s forehead.

“I know Derpy, I know”, she said with a smile

The rest of the day went pretty well, aside from a quiet breakfast. Spike just played with his pancakes, and Dinky was already at school.

Later, Twilight asked Derpy an important question.

“Derpy?”, she asked.

“Yes, Twiley?”, she said smiling.

“Let’s go out tonight, just the two of us”, she asked.

“Yeah! That’s sounds fun. Anyplace you had in mind?”, Derpy asked excitedly.

“How about Hoofensteins? I hear that they have good food”, Twilight asked.

“Anything for you, sweetie-buns”, Derpy added with a kiss.

Derpy and Twilight sat across from each other at Hoofensteins, eating and talking the taking the night away.

“I gotta say Twiley, this is the best Spaghetti I’ve ever had”, she said drooling over the excellent dish.

“I agree to that, honey, this tastes amazing”, Twilight said happily.

The two sat in silence, until Derpy broke the air.

“Twiley?”, she asked worried.

“Yes, Derpy? What’s wrong?”, she asked in a concerned tone.

“It’s just....are you sure you want to be with me. I’m just a commoner and your a princess. You deserve better than an outcast with weird eyes”, she said with a lack of confidence.

“Derpy Hooves, I wouldn’t want anypony else. Not only are you a fantastic marefriend, your a fantastic mother and pony. Not to mention a downright amazing lover”, she said, that last part making Derpy blush.

“I love you Twiley”, she said as she nuzzled her marefriend.

“I love you too Derpy, never forget it”, she replied lovingly.

Derpy Hooves smiled......
