New Face in Town

“Your going to love it here Marble! New friends, new adventures, new everything!”, promised Pinkie Pie.

Marble just nodded. She was happy to get away from the rock farm, but the thought of meeting new ponies frightened her.

“You ok Marble?”, Pinkie said.

“Mhmm”, Marble replied in her signature sound.

“Are you suuure?”, the elder Pie asked.

Marble looked around, but was thankfully cut off.

“Ah, this must be Marble”, said a feminine voice.

“Yes it is, Mrs. Cake. Marble, this is Mrs. Cake”, she said introducing the two mares.

“How do you do?”, Mrs. Cake asked.

Marble just stood in silence, once again looking at Pinkie.

“She’s not one for words, hehe”, Pinkie said, covering for her sister.

“Oh, ok. Anyway, welcome Marble!”, she said before exiting.

“See ya later, alligator”, Pinkie said.

Just then, Marble heard a loud bite behind Pinkie.

“Well hello to you too, Gummy!”, Pinkie said laughing.

Pinkie raised her tail to reveal a baby alligator, naming on her puffy tail.

“Marble, this is Gummy”, Pinkie said, introducing her reptilian homie.

Gummy unlatched from Pinkie’s tail, and scampered over to Marble, staring at her with lifeless eyes.

Marble just stared back, feeling weirded out. Something about this creature seemed...off.

“Anyway Marble, what do you wanna do? Bake? Dance? Rollerblade?”, Pinkie said, producing a pair of skates.

Marble pointed towards the bed, and Pinkie got the message.

“Oh, you want to nap. Well, ok baby sis, sweet dreams!”, Pinkie said before leaving.

Gummy was left behind, giving that ever- present blank glare.

Marble settled into her sisters bed, she sure was tired after the train ride.

Gummy jumped onto the bed and snuggled into her mane.

Marble cracked a smile,

“Maybe this won’t be so bad”, she said before dozing off.
