New Face in Town
Mac and Marble Sittin’ In A Tree
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt was quite a rainy day in Ponyville. Most of the ponies stayed inside, reading and playing games with the hope of the sun peeping it’s hot head out. But there was one family that wasn’t inside, one that through rain, shine, snow.....ok, maybe not snow, but you get the point!
The Apple Family
In particular, Applejack and Big Macintosh, were bucking the trees and other chores relating to farming.
The elder Apple, McIntosh, was a bit distracted, however.
He didn’t have Apples on the mind, as one might think.
He had Pie on the mind, more specifically Marble Pie, his marefriend of 3 months. He knew her before though, she was just this silent mare at a Hearth’s Warming party, but now she was a strong willed, happy mare who had one his heart.
And they both couldn’t be happier.
They had gone to dinner, went bowling, hiked through Ghastly Gorge, and even helped Pinkie Pie bake her many mouth-watering treats.
Yes, life was good for the couple, but how long could it’s last?
McIntosh was afraid of this possibility, as his last relationship had ended pretty harshly. The mare he dated, Flitter, broke his heart on their anniversary. He caught her cheating with another stallion. To say he’d been through a lot was putting it lightly.
But this was different, Marble actually cared more than Flitter or any other mare ever could’ve.
She was patient, kind, but assertive when she needed to be, just how he liked it.
After his day in the rain, he felt an urge to see Marble, so he made his way to Sugarcube Corner to see his special somepony.

Marble was helping Pinkie with dish duty when they heard the bell ring, indicating a new customer. Pinkie sprung to her job, meeting the pony at the counter.
“Welcome to Sugarcube Corner, where the treats are always amazing feats!”, she said with a wide smile. She loved her job.
“Howdy Miss Pie”, he said.
“Howdy to you too, Big Mac! You here for Marble?”, she asked with a sly grin.
Mac nodded and Pinkie sped off. A few seconds later, Marble met her coltfriend.
“Hi Mac”, she said pecking him on the lips.
“Hey Sugarcube, hows y’alls day going?”, he asked, blushing from the kiss.
“It’s going good, how about you?”, she said with a dreamy smile. Her coltfriend always put her first.
“About as good as working in the rain could be”, he added with a chuckle.
“I envy you Mac, your ethic just can’t be beat”, she said.
Mac replied with a kiss to her voice,
“I envy you too, my little fritter”, he said staring into her purple orbs.
Marble blushed, he was always a good gentlecolt.
“Anyway, what did you need?”, she asked.
“Do you you want to go out tonight? My treat?”, he asked with a smile.
“Sure Mac, where did you have in mind?”, she asked.
“How about right here!”, said a new, energetic voice.
Both ponies just at the sudden appearance of one Pinkamena Diane Pie, questioning how a pony could be so stealthy.
“I don’t know....what do you think Mac?”, Marble asked.
Mac thought it over and responded,
“Sure, Ah don’t see why not”, he said with a smile.
Pinkie flashed a big, goofy grin,
“Great! Both of you be here by 7:30 tonight, I shall start prepping!”, she said before rushing up stairs.
“How do y’all live with Pinkie Pie?”, he asked quizzingly.
“Honestly Maccie, I don’t know”, Marble said with a grin.
