New Face in Town

Pinkie and Marble walked back to Sugarcube Corner, smiles gracing their faces.

“I’m so excited Marble!”, Pinkie said jumping on the bed.

“Yeah...”, Marble said grinning, but not really meaning it.

“Marble, what’s wrong?”, Pinkie said losing her happy mood.

“Well.......It’s my first party in quite some time. I don’t know what to do”, she said.

Pinkie just laughed, it was funny to her.

“Pinkie, what’s so funny?”, Marble asked, her cheeks rushing with red.

“You, silly filly!”, she said wiping tears out of eyes.

Marble was confused, how could a concern be funny.

“Marble, you’ll do great. The attitude I saw today from you, it was so contagious. If you act like that, you’ll fit like Rainbow Dash in a Wonderbolts uniform”, Pinkie said with a smile.

Marble, though not getting the reference, was content with that answer.

“Thanks Pinks, you know just what to say”, Marble said, embracing her elder by a few seconds.

The fire was raging as the party goers began to talk and have fun. Derpy was cuddling up next to
Twilight, Fluttershy was holding Angel, and Rainbow Dash was doing a push-up contest with Applejack.

“Give up yet?”, Applejack said through gritted teeth.

“Never!”, Rainbow shout back, sweat pouring off of her.

Marble and Pinkie we’re talking with Rarity.

“ I must say darling, I’m glad you opened up a little, your voice is adorable”, Rarity said.

“Thanks Rarity, I’m glad I did too”, she said with a proud smile.

“Say, where’s Pinkie?”, Marble asked.

“That I don’t know my dear”, Rarity said stumped.

“Pinkie! Pinkie, where are you?”, Marble said.

“Over here Marble!”, Pinkie’s voice called out.

Marble looked over to see her talking to a big red stallion, one she thought she’d never see again.

“Is...Is that Big McIntosh?”, she said to herself.

Marble trotted over and Pinkie greeted her.

“Hey Marble! Look who I found!”, she said while smiling.

“Howdy Ms. Marble, ain’t seen you in a Manehattan minute. Miss Pinkie says you talk now?”, asked Big Mac.

“Yes, I do, and it’s good to see you again. How’ve you been?”, she asked.

McIntosh smiled,

“So Pinkie was tellin’ the truth”, he thought.

“Ah’ve just been on the farm doing what I do”, he said proudly.

“What..do you do again?”, she asked with a sheepish grin.

“Oh right, probably should’ve told ya before. I plow the fields here at Sweet Apple Acres”, he said awkwardly.

“Oh my, that’s sounds really hard”, she said concerned.

“Nah, it’s ok. I can do it just fine”, he said.

“HEY EVERYPONY! YOU READY TO GET THIS BONFIRE STARTED?”, Applejack said.

Everypony and one dragon cheered.

“Alright then, hit it!”, she said to the band behind her.

They began playing a fast country dance song, and Everypony joined in the fun.

“Y’all like to dance, Miss Marble?”, asked Mac.

“Oh, I’ve never danced to this kind of music before”, Marble said sheepishly.

“I don’t take no skill, just let your body do the work”, he said.

“Alright, I’ll try”, Marble smiled.

They went over to the crowd and began to dance along.

Marble was very impressed with McIntosh and his square dancing abilities, never before had she seen Somepony that big move so gracefully.

Eventually, the pair left the group to go to a quiet spot, as they both had headaches.

“I’ve gotta say Big Mac, I’ve never seen Somepony your size dance so well”, Marble admitted.

“Well thank ya’ Marble, you didn’t do to bad yerself”, he said with a smile.

Marble and Mac just sat there under Luna’s moon.

They both felt a feeling neither one of them ever wanted to forget.
