My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic: The New Member (Rewrite)

Two weeks have passed and no sign of Sombra, Chrysalis or their forces, which was a small relief for the ponies.

They helped Jewel learn how to use her Animal Staff in battle. She progressed soon they but she still had a long way to go.

Right now, it was nighttime and Princess Luna was doing her nightly duties. In New Ponyville, Krysta, Lightning and Starla were fast asleep. The only one who wasn’t asleep in the household was Jewel.

She was just staring out the window, looking at the peaceful night sky and bright moon and stars shimmering.

Suddenly she saw a figure outside Lightning and Starla’a house.

”What’s that?” she thought.

The figure then ran away. Jewel quickly put her clothes on and quietly and teleported outside and followed the mysterious figure all the way to the park.

“Hello!” she called. “It’s okay. I’m a friendly pony. I won’t hurt you.”

Jewel saw the figure coming out from on of the bushes and in the moonlight, got a better look at it:

It looked like a sheep except it had blue skin and two horns on the side of its head that were yellow and black just like it’s tail that had a small ball on the end.

“Mareep, reep.” It said.

”Poor Mareep. It looks so scared.”

“It’s okay. Mareep. I won’t hurt you.” Jewel repeated. Mareep, hearing the calming tone of Jewel’s voice, slowly walked towards her. Mareep was only inches from Jewel. Jewel reached out and petted Mareep.

“Good girl.” Jewel cooed. “Umm... you are a girl, right?”

Mareep nodded.

“Well, Is better get back home before Lightning and Starla find out.” Jewel stated. Mareep looked at her curiously.

Jewel stood up and was about to leave when a blur came and grabbed her by the shoulder, lifting her up into the air. “WOOOAAAH....!!”

Mareep gasped and immediately followed the blur.

Jewel struggled to get loose, “There’s no use in struggling.” an all too familiar voice stated. Jewel gasped in horror and managed to look up and saw Carla.

“Let me go!” Jewel demanded.

“Never!” Carla sneered, “you’re going to King Sombra, where you belong.”

Suddenly a bolt of lightning cane and almost hit Carla. “What the-?”

Jewel looked down and saw Mareep firing Thunderbolt at Carla, planning to hit her so she’ll release Jewel.

Mareep kept firing until one hit Carla and Jewel fell out of her grip and she bang falling into the woods below. Luckily, she used her magic to slowly float herself to the ground, where Mareep met up with her.

“Mareep! Mareep reep!” Mareep said in concern.

“I’m okay, Mareep. Thanks to you.” Jewel praised. Mareep nuzzled Jewel’s leg.

Jewel looked around her and saw that they were both deep in the woods and she didn’t know where to go to get back to New Ponyville.

“Not good. How am I gonna get back to New Ponyville now?” She asked herself.

“Mareep. Mareep.”

“You know the way, Mareep?”

Mareep nodded.

“Okay then, lead the way.” Mareep nodded and walked off with Jewel following behind. Jewel saw that the sun was beginning to rise.

”I hope my friends don’t freak out when they realize I’m missing” Jewel hoped.

By the morning, Lightning and his friends were no doubt searching for Jewel.

“Find her?” Lightning asked.

The ponies shook their heads. “Hey guys!” They turned around and saw Mykan and Midnight walking towards them.

“Find Jewel yet?” Mykan asked.

“Nope.” Lightning replied.

“Darn.” Midnight grumbled.

“Where ever could she have gone?” Rarity asked.

“This is completely unlike her.” Rainbow stated. “Jewel wouldn’t go anywhere without telling one of us first.”

As the friends thought about where Jewel could have gone. Mykan see something that made him relieved and confused.

“Guys? Why is Jewel walking with a blue-skinned sheep?” he asked, pointing towards the upper part of the street.

Everybody turned and saw the same thing. The friends went up to her. Lightning, Mykan and Midnight were the first ones to reach her and they hug her with joy.

“Thank goodness you’re alright, Jewel! You had us all worried sick!” Lightning scolded.

Jewel lowered in head in shame, “I’m sorry, Lightning.” She said.

Lightning couldn’t stay mad at her forever, so he took a deep breath and placed a hand on her shoulder saying, “It’s alright, but next time, tell us where you’re going okay?”

“Okay.” Jewel replied.

Then the others came up, “Oh Jewel, thank heavens.” Rarity praised.

“We’re so glad you’re safe.” Fluttershy stated.

“But where did you go,
That we’d like to know.” Rhymey added.

With that, Jewel explained what transpired last night, and when she finished the ponies were shocked and amazed.

“So this little Mareep actually shocked Carla and guided you back to us?” Mykan summarized, impressed.

“Yes.” Jewel replied.

“So what that little sheep near Jewel called again?” Lightning asked.

“It’s a Mareep.” Mykan stated.

“A Ma-what now?” Rainbow asked.

“A Mareep. It’s an electric-type pokemon that can actually absorb electricity.” Mykan added. Fluttershy and Starla went gaga over the little sheep.

“It’s soooo cute!” Fluttershy cooed.

“Adorable!” Starla added. Mareep was blushing by the all attention she was receiving. Mareep nuzzled Jewel’s leg and Jewel petted the little sheep on it’s head.

“Looks like that Mareep likes Jewel, lots.” Starla stated.

“Yeah.” Lightning added.

Mareep stopped nuzzling Jewel and she looked up at her friends. “So what do we do now?” Jewel asked.

“You ponies surrender your unicorn! That’s what?” a voice called.

The friends turned around and saw Carla again. The friends stood in front of Jewel like a shield. “Fat chance!” Lightning stated.

“Give me that unicorn!” Carla demanded.

“No way!” Mykan replied.

“Let’s go!” Lightning called.

“STARFLEET MAGIC!!”

“HARMONY HOUR, FRIENDSHIP POWER!”

“DRAGON POWER!!”

Carla suddenly whistled and the ponies heard a loud ‘sqwack’ and over the hilltop came a large eagle about fifty feet high! The eagle was all black with white talons, wing tips and beak. It landed beside Carla and sqwacked at the ponies.

Fluttershy shook a little looking at the humongous creature.

“Now, Breeze. Attack these pest!” Carla ordered.

Breeze squawked and took to the skies and immediately dive bombed the ponies. “Scatter!” Lightning called.

The team scattered and Mareep and Jewel hid in an alleyway.

Rhymey and Mykan charged Breeze with their swords drawn but the eagle just slapped them with it’s large wing, sending them into a food cart.

“That hurt.” groaned Mykan.

“You guys okay?” Rainbow asked.

“We’re okay,
But things are not going our way.” Rhymey added.

“You said it.” Buddy stated.

Everytime the ponies tried to attack the eagle it just blocked with it’s large wings. “Now use AIR SLASH..!!”

Breeze spread it’s wings and sent light blue saws at the gang, striking them hard and sending them flying. “Guys!” Mykan called. He charged the large bird but it used the same attack and sent Mykan flying as well.

Jewel and Mareep could hardly watch this. Her friends could not last much longer,

“What can we do?” Jewel asked herself.

“Mareep!” Jewel looked down at Mareep, who had a determined look on it’a face. Looking into her eyes, Jewel knew exactly what she wanted to do. “You wanna battle that monster, don’t you?”

Mareep nodded.

Jewel bit her lip, but then she remembered that Mareep’s electricity was really effective against Carla. There was no reason why it wouldn’t be effective with the large eagle.

“Alright let’s do this!”

Breeze stomped towards the ponies. “Say goodbye, ponies!” Carla declared.

Suddenly....

“Mareep! Thunderbolt!” A bolt of electricity struck the ground betweeen the ponies and the villains. Breeze stepped back as Mareep and Jewel appeared in front of the fallen fighters. Jewel was transformed and was ready to fight.

“Out of my way! Or I’ll take you as my prize!” Carla stated.

“No way!” Jewel replied. “Mareep Attack!”

Mareep charged Breeze and covered herself in electrical energy. Ramming to the giant eagle she actually knocked it over onto it’s side!

Woah.” Rainbow whispered.

Jewel punched and kicked Carla, who did the same thing. “You should just give up.” Carla sneered.

“That's something I’ll never do!” Jewel exclaimed, “Mareep! Thunderbolt!”

Mareep obeyed and launched a large bolt of electricity at Breeze. The eagle screech in pain and exploded, but wasn't imprisoned in a capture sphere. Instead it was turned back into a normal eagle, which flew away.

“What?! No!” Carla cried. Jewel rammed her to the ground. Knowing she was beaten she reluctantly retreated. “This isn’t over!” she declared and she teleported away.

By now, Lightning and his team had recovered enough strength to stand up and walk over to the duo. “Are you guys okay?” Jewel asked.

“Yeah. We’re good, thanks to you and Mareep.” Lightning stated.

“That…. was…. Awesome!” Rainbow cried.

“I agree. Mareep sure can battle.” Mykan added.

“Mareep’s power is very strong,
With Jewel is where she truly belongs.” Rhymey added.

Mareep walked up to Mykan and nuzzled his leg. The girls ‘awwww’d’ at the cute scene. “Look like Mareep has taken a liking to you, Mykan.” Applejack teased.

Mykan chuckled and rubbed Mareep on the head. “Now how about we get to the bottom of your little friends power.” a voice added.

Everybody turned around and saw their majesties descending from the sky. They bowed to their rulers. “Master? Queen Celestia! What are you doing here?” Fluttershy asked.

“We witnessed the whole battle from the palace and I’m impressed with the little sheep’s power.” Grand Ruler stated.

Mareep suddenly looked angry and launched a Thundershock at Grand Ruler. He screamed in pain and fell to the ground, to the horror of his wife and student.

“Darling! Master!” they both rushed over and helped him to his feet. “What is the hotel bills was that for?!” Applejack asked.

Mareep turned to Jewel. “Mareep reep, Mareep reep.”

“Marep said that it HATES to be called ‘little sheep’ and she will shocks everyone who calls her that.” Jewel translated.

“Mareep reep.”

“And you’re lucky I just used Thundershock, or else you would be a fried right now.”The ponies and Mykan and Midnight looked at Mareep with slight fear now. “Well…. you’ve got a quick temper, don’t you Mareep. Just like Rarity.” Mykan joked. Rarity didn’t take that too lightly, “I beg your pardon! I do not have a quick temper.” The others rolled their eyes as the two began quarreling. Mareep cried and laughed a Thunderbolt at the two, scoraching them badly. “Mareep Mareep repp!”

“Mareep said ‘stop fighting like little kids! Or else I’ll Volt Tackle you into space’!” Jewel translated. Mykan and Rarity looked at Mareep, who had a angry glare on her face then back at each other and apologized. “Nice.” Spike commented claw-bumping Mareep, receiving a glare from his wife. Everybody, including their majesties laughed.

In our next episode; Jewel discovers some changelings that have escaped from prison and teaches them about friendship. But when the ponies discover this, Jewel faces a severe punishment and it's up to the changelings to save her.
