My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic: The New Member (Rewrite)

His name was Ace Ray, once a proud Wonderbolt who got discharged and dismissed for poor acts of conduct, and constant mockery towards the Starfleet comrades whom he loathed and despised for reasons that were defiantly not true.

He accused them of…

-Blaming them for the destruction of Equestria
-Turning the world into a tightly controlled police state
-Being monstrous murders that killed creatures without reason.

…Of course none of this was true, but he simply refused to believe it. It was suggested he take courses and seek professional help for his unbearable attitude, but he refused, and instead of getting better, he grew worse!

He would gather friends who felt the same as he did and started pep rallies trying to persuade people that Starfleet was no good and deserved to be punished, beat up, or killed, but nobody else supported them and merely ignored their every word. They loved their new world, and appreciated Starfleet and their dedication to fighting evil, and they knew that Ace Ray was nothing more than a petty-minded bully that everyone but his group of mockers seemed to loathe and despise the way he despised Starfleet. “They blew up our planet!” he would whine “How can you support cold hearted killers?”

“They did no such thing!” he would get as a response “And they don’t do things without reason. They are far better ponies than anything you will ever be, you failure!”

Even his own sister Skye didn’t wish to support her brother, namely because her friend, Major Rainbow Dash was now a full-fledged Wonderbolt and member of Starfleet, and the fact that she found respect and honor for Starfleet since day one. This made Ace Ray so mad that he ultimately threatened to beat up his own sister from time to time unless she complied with his way of thinking, to which she angrily refused.

Everyone suggested, begged her, to get Ace Ray some help, but every time she thought about it she completely went the other way, almost as if she were too much of a coward to go through with it, to the fact that she was just as stubborn as her brother some time, and felt she could help him herself.

Rainbow Dash constantly checked up on her, and was worried about her friend, and would sometimes think about turning Ace in herself, but Skye insisted she not do it.

One day, Jewel was with her friends watching at the Cake’s Café for some breakfast, including Mykan and Midnight.

Rainbow Dash came along after finishing her patrol rounds along with Rhymey and Fluttershy. “What up chums?”

Her friends smiled. “All is quiet I assume?” asked Lightning.

“Yes sir, Admiral.” Rainbow said as she saluted. “Too bad I can’t say the same about Skye.”

“She’s still down hard about her brother?” asked Starla.

“Who’s that? Jewel asked.

“Ace Ray.” Lightning replied. “He’s a little temperamental.”

“Pfft. A little?” Starla scoffed.

Rainbow nodded and explained to Jewel that Skye’s brother and his friends were getting more and more out of control with their mocks and outright spite of Starfleet and those who sided with him. “He still blames you guys and says you destroyed Equestria.” Rainbow added referring to Lightning and his team.

“I don’t understand.” Jewel added.

The gang winced, knowing that they’ve haven’t told Jewel everything that happened before she came here, being that it was classified information.

However, seeing that it was necessary they explained to her the Great War, when Unicornicopia and Equestria were both destroyed and United Equestria was formed from its remains. When they finished Jewel was amazed.

“But we didn’t, and everyone else knows that.” said Lightning “Well, everyone except him that is.”

“He mocks us all day and night.
I think he’s really looking for a fight.” said Rhymey.

Everyone felt very annoyed, but they decided to let it slide. So far, Ace hadn’t done anything to violate any of the laws seriously, and unless he did they were to take no action. Also, it was hard for them to get even so much as a word out to Ace as he didn’t care to listen and always assumed he was in the right and just mocked and picked at them more.

That’s when the soft sounds of the morning were broken by the sounds of an angry mob lead by Ace came marching into the area hollering bad things about Starfleet and holding signs which also gave bad messages. “Humph!” grunted Starla “Just pretend you don’t see them.”

Everyone in the entire café simply turned their backs to the miserable mob. “Hey!” snapped Ace “We’re talking to you. Starfleet has got to go!” His mob of friends seemed to agree with him, but everyone in café just ignored him completely, and passersby took no notice and just walked right past the buffoon.

Ace had finally taken enough of being ignored and walked right into the outdoor dining area at the café. “What’s wrong with all of you?” he shouted “You’ve been brainwashed by these losers! They’ve ruined our whole world!”

Still, no one cared to even notice him and his pointless whining.

“They’re murderers; they go on killing everything they deem as evil. They never once thought of talk and reason. You know what they are, violent, evil sneaks, and they turn our world into a police state, watching us all day and night.”

Mykan and Spike was starting to lose his patience and wanted nothing more than to see him get trashed for all he was spewing. They stood up, but Lightning told them to calm down. “Just ignore him you two.”

Rhymey agreed with her and said…

“There’s no need to make a fuss
There is nothing he can do to us.”

Ace turned and marched angrily over to the table. “And you… will YOU STOP WITH THAT RHYMING!!” he screamed.

Rhymey glared at him angrily and picked his ear.

“I fail to see why you yell and mock.
There’s nothing wrong with the way I talk.
My entire family speaks in rhyme.
We have been doing so for a long, long time.
There is nothing wrong with the rhyming I do.
But if you think so, then something’s wrong with you.”

His voice was sounding angrier, but Starla cautioned him to cool it, but Ace continued to be as rude and obnoxious as ever. “You lousy bunch of murdering tyrants…! You’re not going to intimidate me. You’re all the same, just like the wonderbolts. I’m almost glad they threw me out so I don’t have to see what disgraces they’ve become.”

Rainbow really hated it when someone insulted the wonderbolts, and stood up angrily to protest. “Take it easy, Rainbow.” Fluttershy said “I mean… he is just expressing his opinion.”

“That’s right.” mocked Ace “And if I think that you’re all stupid and retarded for allowing all this into our world with no objections, well that’s my opinion too.” his friends in the mob laughed and applauded him for the mock.

Jewel didn’t like how Ace was harassing her friends and she decided to do something about it. She got up from her seat and approached Ace and his mob making her friends were immediately worried.

“Jewel! No! Don’t!” Rainbow whispered.

“Jewel come back, now!” Applejack stated.

“Has she lost her mind!?” Buddy asked.

“What is she doing?!” Pinkie added. Lightning knew that she was breaking regulations by doing this, but he was interested at what she was doing to do.

Ace saw Jewel and scowled, “What do you want!”

“Can you not harass my friends Ace?” Jewel asked.

Ace growled, quickly growing upset with her. “No! Because they are stupid and don’t deserve any respect!”

“Like you?”

The whole café went “Ooooooooooooh.” Nobody has ever stand up to Ace before.

Ace was not amused at all. “You wanna go there, you little punk!” he shouted.

“Go where?”

“HERE!” Ace aimed a punch at her but before he could land the blow, she dodged it. Lightning and his friends sighed in relief.

“Leave my friends alone.” Jewel stated.

“No way! Those losers deserve it!”

Jewel’s blood began boiling and clouds began to form around her and separating into four separate clouds. Suddenly, she began to glow again.

“What in United Equestria is going on with Jewel?” Rarity asked.

“No idea.” Mykan replied.

When the light died down, Jewel changed again;her fur changed tan and she got down in all fours. She grew a large bushy, golden mane and and thin tail with a tassle of fur on the end. Her hands and feet turned into powerful paws with three-inch long claws. When the glow was gone, Jewel had taken the form of a lion!

She roared at Ace and his mob, who were was backing away from her. Ace was the only one who stood his ground. “That’s all you got? HA! You really are pathetic!” he sneered. “Just like your retard friends.”

Jewel snorted aggressively and bellowed, “I..... said...... leave.... my... friends... ALONE...!!!” As soon as she said ‘alone’ she roared like a make lion and the four clouds turned into four roaring lions.

The wind from the roar was so strong that it blew Ace Ray and his angry mob all the way out of New Ponyville!

Jewel stopped roaring and the clouds disappeared. Everybody in them café was in shocked. A moment of silence passed.

Pinkie broke the silence asking, “What just happened?”

After that, they all met at Lightning and Starla’a house. Lightning wrote a letter to their majesties about the incident.

“That... was.... awesome, Jewel!” Rainbow yelled, “You showed him what for!”

“Yeah! You put that punk in his place for sure!” Spike added.

Even though Lightning was impressed as well he said, “Jewel, you know that you broke regulations by what you did. Right?”

Jewel lowered her head in shame. “Yes.” she said quietly. Lightning then placed a hand on her shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile. “However, you did a very brave and noble deed defending us like that.”

Jewel smiled at that, which disappeared instantly when she heard a cough at the door. Everybody turned around and saw Grand Rulet and his wife.

“We got you message, Lightning.” Celestia stated. “Where is Jewel? We’d like to speak with her.” Jewel walked nervously towards their majesties.

“H-Hi your majesties. I know I broke regulations, I’m sorry.” Jewel apologized.

“Jewel while you did break regulations, that is not what we’re here for.” Celesto replied. “We’re here to discuss the amount of power Jewel displayed.” Celestia added.

“You saw Jewel roar and the clouds turning into roaring lions too?” Pinkie asked.

“Indeed we did.” Celesto said.

“And according to the lab ponies, the power Jewel displayed was very tremendous, almost as strong as my uniforce.” Grand Ruler stated.

The ponies were all astonished and amazed.

“Cool.” Rainbow added.

“Is it bad?” Jewel asked nervously.

“No, it’s not bad jewel, but we may have figured out the reason.” Celesto replied.

“What is it, master?” Lightning asked.

“We think that after she transformed all the anger she felt from Ace Ray’s insults towards you causing her to release into the powerful roar.” Celestia theorized.

“So is it dangerous?” Mykan asked.

“Yes. We fear that all the negative energy from her anger may eventually cause her to transform into an wicked being of darkness, like my sister did long ago.” Celestia stated.

Everybody gasped at such a thought. “So until Jewel really needs it, we will keep her angerside contained.” Grand Ruler stated.

Everybody was confused. “Contain it? How?” Midnight asked. Their majesties smirked.

Soon everybody found themselves in Professor Brain’s lab and Jewel was wearing a helmet with an antenna on it next to a large glass cage-like machine.

“So what’s this thing, Professor?” Mykan asked.

“It’s my emotion visualizer. It’ll tap into Jewel emotions and contain them indefinitely.

Brain began turning the dial and a emotion came in; it was blue and crying, “Why so I feel like crying forever.” It sobbed.

“Oops, wrong channel.” Brain said. Turning the dial again another emotion came in this one was black and gray. “Why is this taking so long?” It asked in a reply bored voice.

“Nope, that’s her boredom.”

Turning the dial again, another emotion came in this one was pink and red with a big smile on it’s face. “I love you forever. Hehehehe!”

“Aww, that’s her love response. One more time.”

Professor Brain turns the dial again and this time her angerside came in; it was completely red with a yellow horn. It roared viciously. “Got it!” He pressed the button and the anger came out of Jewel and into the machine.

Jewel’s angerside looked at her with the friends with an angry look.

“Anger separation complete!” Brain declared.

Rage Jewel roared. “Incredible every ounce of Jewel’s rage in now trapped inside the machine.” Celesto stated. Rage Jewel was thrashing around in the cage like a bull on a rampage.

“I don’t feel any anger at all. WOO-HOO!” Jewel cried now feeling extremely happy.

“Ahh! Your ear!” Brain cried pointing at Jewel’s ear which caught on fire. Jewel didn’t see her fire caught ear. “Huh?”

Mykan quickly grabbed the fire extinguisher and blasted the ear as well as all of her face.

“You okay Jewel?” he asked.

“Better than okay. I feel great.” Jewel replied. Rage Jewel was scratching it’s ear which had a burnt mark on it.

“Fascinating. Looks like the emotions are not completely separate. I’ll stay here and monitor this.”

“Alright Professor.” Celestia replied. Everybody left the room but not before Rage Jewel roared at them.

Later that day, Jewel and friends were walking down the street of New Ponyville when....

“Hey losers!”

Everybody groaned in annoyance and turned around to be met but Ace Ray and his mob again.

“What are you doing here?” Ace snarled.

“We live here.” Rainbow grumbled.

“Just to come back and control everybody like us usual.” Ace replied.

Everybody was very annoyed with Ace. Jewel walked up to him. “What do you want, little punk?!” Ace snarled.

“Can you leave my friends alone please?” Jewel asked with a smile. “They haven’t done anything wrong. They’re great ponies.”

Ace snarled viciously. “I’m gonna beat the Starfleet love out of you, if you don’t stop talking.” he threatened.

Rage Jewel in the lab, flared up its horn with an anger expression and growled, barring its teeth.

“Yikes. Anger levels rise drastically!” Rage Jewel roared.

“Why? You should like Starfleet too. Hehehe.” That was the last straw for Ace. He punched Jewel in the face. Bystanders and her friends gasped. Jewel stood up again and just blinked at Ace.

“Ooh, you want more huh?” Ace asked. “Guys.”

Ace’s mob move towards Jewel in a threatening manner. “Why is she just standing there?” Mykan asked with worry.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll beat them up in no time.” Rainbow said with pride. However, Jewel was doing no such thing.

She was just standing there while Ace and his mob punched and kicked her. She fell the ground. Jewel wanted to fight back but something was holding her back.

Meanwhile at the lab, Rage Jewel had grown twice as large and snarled and roared viciously. “Woah! Rage levels escalated!” Brain cried. Rage Jewel continued roaring.

Their majesties came into the lab. “What isn’t going on here?” Celestia asked, sternly. Rage Jewel then broke the cage.

“That’s what!” Brain whimpered. Rage Jewel burst out of the lab and dashed off to New Ponyville.

Meanwhile, Ace and his mob were still beating up Jewel. Lightning couldn’t take the sight of this his anymore. “Let’s move.” he snapped. The others were about to dahs in there when Rage Jewel came in and bashed Ace and his mob away from Jewel, who now had bruises and wounds all over her body.

“Jewel’s anger! How’d that escape?” Mykan asked. Rage Jewel went over to jewel and licked her with its soft tongue, whimpering with worry. The friends rushed to her side.

“Jewel!” Midnight cried. Jewel didn’t move or respond. “Quick! Let’s get to the sickbay.” Mykan said.

Mykan picked up Jewel and everybody rushed to New Canterlot Palace. Soon, Jewel was all bandaged up and placed in a hospital bed. Meanwhile, everybody else was in the throne room, discussing what happened with their majesties. “So Jewel didn’t react at all to Ace Ray’s insults to you all?” Grand Ruler asked.

“That’s completely unlike her.” Celestia added.

“I believe I can shed some light on this mystery.” Professor Brain said as he entered the throne room. “Jewel’s rage kept magnifying for some reason.”

“It did?!” Everybody asked.

“Yes, it broke out of the cage and went to New Ponyville.”

Now everybody was suspicious. “Maybe Jewel rage sensed her anger wanted Jewel to say how she really felt but without it, she couldn’t.” Mykan said.

“It think you may be right, Mykan.” Celestia added.

“Her anger allows Jewel to say how she feels,
Without it, her words are not real.” Rhymey said. Everybody now felt bad and silly. They took away an important emotion from Jewel that allowed her to protect herself and now she was in the hospital because of it. “We made a big mistake.” Rainbow said. “Yeah, we shouldn’t have messed with her emotions in the first place.” Starla added. Their majesties were glad that the ponies learnt their lesson. “So... now what?” Fluttershy asked.

Jewel’s eyes fluttered open and the first thing she saw was her friends all at her bedside. “Hey guys.” she greeted in a hoarse voice.

“Hey Jewel.” Lightning greeted. Jewel tried to sit up, but her bruised body told her otherwise. “Ugh!”

“Easy Jewel. Take it easy.” Mykan soothed. Jewel layed back down and noticed her friends look a little sad. “What’s wrong guys?” she asked.

“Listen Jewel.” Lightning started. “We’re sorry, we should have never taken away your anger. Your anger is what makes you stand up for yourself and others and when we took that away you became passive which is not what we wanted to see.”

“We shouldn’t have tried to change you.” Artie added.

“We should have just let you be you.” Applejack added. Everybody added their own setiments into the apology.

“We’re so super sorry.” Pinkie added.

Jewel smiled sadly at her friends. “It’s okay guys.” Jewel replied. Their majesties just watched with proud smiles. Rage Jewel carefully came in and roared softly. “It’s okay girl, I’m okay.” Jewel replied. Rage Jewel nuzzled Jewel and licked her face, making her laugh. “You can understand her?” Midnight asked.

“Yeah.” Jewel asked. She turned to her angerside. “Ready to be whole again?” she asked. Rage Jewel nodded and placed its claw on Jewel and magically entered her body once again. “Alright now, Jewel Crystal needs her rest, you’ll have to come back tomorrow.” the doctor instructed. Everybody exited the room, leaving only Lightning. “Feel better soon.” he whispered. “Okay.” Jewel replied. With that, Lightning and their majesties exited the room. “Her magic is getting stronger everyday.” Grand Ruler said.

“Yes. We will have to keep a closer eye on Jewel to help her expand magical abilities.” Celestia replied. Lightning agreed and promised to help his student the best her can.
