My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic: The New Member (Rewrite)

Two weeks have passed since Jewel became a member of Lightning's unit. Their majesties gave Jewel her very own super suit completed with the Starfleet insignia, showing she was a member of the force. The insigna itself was replaced with a special-transforming badge... an Energizer... which still had the same marking of a Unicorn and a single wing!

Her visor, like all her friends, was the most important piece of equipment. Each visor had a set of various incredible functions.

-Heat sensory
-X-Ray
-Infrared vision
-Sound Scan
-Radar
-Telescopic magnification
-Medical scan
-Power scouting
-Database retrieval

Also, all Starfleet suits as well their fighters fought under a specific elemental or attributed force. Jewels was 'Power of Animals' meaning she can use animal-like abilities in battle like climbing, running or even pouncing.

Right now, Jewel was in the training dojo with all her friends and their majesties. "Okay Jewel, I want you to change into a wolf, like you did before and break these three targets." Grand Ruler ordered. "Okay, Your majesty." Jewel concentrated and her whole body began to glow and in a bright flash, she changed into a wolf.

Her wolf form had white fur with yellow lightning bolts all over it. Jewel howled and rushed at the targets, leaping up, she slashed all three targets in one move!

"Awesome!" cried Rainbow.

"Alright Jewel!" cheered Pinkie. Their majesties were impressed as well. "Now Jewel, you will spar against Starla with your wolf powers." Grand Ruler added. Jewel nodded.

Soon she and Starla were ready to spar, "Here I come Jewel." Starla called. Jewel growled playfully. Starla charged Jewel and tried to tackle her, but Jewel swiftly leaped to the side and pounced onto Starla instead. Starla kicked Jewel off and tried to punch her, but Jewel dodged again and retaliated by ramming into Starla, sending her to the ground.

"Hold!" Celesto stated. Starla let out a breath of relief.

"Excellent, both of you." Celestia commented.

"Thank you, your majesty. Nice sparring Jewel." Starla added, but Jewel didn’t respond, "Umm Jewel?" Jewel began to growled aggressively and turned towards the ponies, her once pink eyes were now blood red.

Jewel suddenly lunged at the group but they all dodged, "What's going on with Jewel?" Lightning asked. Jewel pounced onto Lightning, baring her teeth, but she was kicked off by Dyno and Myte. "Jewel, calm down!" Dyno cried. "Please chica!" Myte added.

Jewel didn't listen and launched a energy sphere at the gang. "We've got to clam her down!" Lightning cried.

"Right!" Lightning and friends rushed over to Jewel and they each held her to the ground. Jewel was struggling and snarling, trying to escape. "Ugh... now what, Lightning?" Buddy asked. Sudddenly, Jewel's body glowed yellow and in another flash, Jewel was back to normal and unconscious. Everybody let go of her, still shocked and dazed by what happened.

Ummm... what just happened?" Pinkie asked.

Jewel was soon in the sickbay resting, while her friends were in the throne room discussing, "What do you think happened to Jewel?" Lightning asked.

"I don't know. It was like she lost control." Rainbow replied.

"But that can't be true! She was in control when she rescued us." Artie stated.

"There may be more to the story than we know." Celestia added.

"What do you mean, your majesty?" Krysta asked.

"Perhaps Jewel, lost control for another reason. Unfortunately, it is unclear what the reason is." Grand Ruler said.

"Maybe Zecors knows?" Fluttershy asked. Their zebra friend knew all about strange and powerful magic.

"She might. Let's go see." Lightning suggested. The ponies went to Zecora's hut and explained the situation.

"Do you know what's happening to her, Zecora?" Pinkie asked.

"From what you all have told,
Jewel has simply lost control." Zecora replied.

"But how? When we were captured by Sombra and Chrysalis, Jewel was in complete control when she transformed?” Lightning asked.

"Jewel's animal magic control is sour,
For now, it's simply too much power,
You all must help her gain control,
Or else she may lose her role." Zecora explained. The ponies understood what Zecora was asking of them; to help Jewel gain control of her powers, or else she may become too much of a danger to be around her friends, or even be in Starfleet.

"Alright Zecora, and thank you." Lightning praised. What they didn't notice was Swift was listening in and heard everything, "Wait till the others hear this" he thought then he teleported away.

Sombra and Chrysalis, along with the minions were surprised by the news. "So Jewel Crystal can't control her animal magic yet, huh?" Chryslias asked.

"Thats what I heard." Swift replied.

"Excellent, we can use this to our advantage." Sombra sneered. The others were confused.

"But how, your majesty?" Carla asked. Sombra snickered and told everyone the plan.

Jewel's eyes fluttered open and she was greeted by many colored blobs. Blinking a couple times, her vision cleared up and revealed Lightning and friends, along with their majesties.

"Hey there, sugarcube. How are ya' feelin'?" Applejack asked.

Jewel groaned, "My head hurts." Fluttershy came over to Jewel and placed an ice pack behind her head, "Here you go, Jewel. This should help."

"Thanks Fluttershy. So what happened to me?" Jewel asked.

The ponies were reluctant to tell Jewel, but they knew they had too.

"Well.. you see Jewel, during your training session with Starla.. you kinda.... went to out of control." LIghtning replied, slowly.

Jewel gasped, "Out of control?!"

"I'm afraid so," Grand Ruler added, "Zecora said that you don't have complete control over your animal magic. So you’ll have little episodes until you learn to fully control it."

"But how?" Jewel asked.

"Don't worry darling, we'll help you." Rarity said.

"Indeedy." Pinkie added.

"We got your back." Applejack promised. Lightning and the others nodded as well. Jewel smilied gratefully at all her friends, "Thanks guys."

Just then, Dr.Penny came into the room, "Alright everyone, Jewel Crystal needs her rest. You all have to come back tomorrow." she ordered, gently.

One-by-one, the ponies left the room, only leaving Lightning and their majesties in the room. Lightning placed his hand over Jewel's, "Don’t worry Jewel, you will control your animal magic. It just takes time." he reassured.

"Okay Lightning." Jewel replied. After that, Lightning and their majesties left Jewel's room so she could rest. Everybody exoted the sickbay and saw Lightning with a look of sympathy on his face.

"Lightning, are you okay?" Starla asked.

"This is just like me and my Enticorn powers." he replied. Everybody knew what he was reffering to; after Lightning unlocked the powers of the Enticorn, he had little to no control over it and went wild during battles, almost hurting his friends.

Now, Lightning is worried about Jewel handing the same problem.

"Don't worry, Lightning, we'll get Jewel through this. Just like we helped you get through it." Starla comforted. Lightning smilied at his fiánce.

"We'll be with her every step of the way." Dyno added, "Si, all the way." Myte said.

Grand Ruler and Queen Celestia smilied proudly at their subjects. They were willing to do everything they could to help Jewel learn how to control her new animal magic.

The next day, Jewel was realeased from the sickbay and was with her friends in the training dojo.

"Okay Jewel, in order to control your animal magic, you need to stay calm." Lightning stated. Jewel nodded and concentrated, her body glowed and she changed into a wolf.

"Alright, now try breaking the targets without losing control, okay?" Lightning asked, slowly. Jewel nodded and dashed towards the targets, she jumped and slashed the targets with her front claws, brewing them in half!

"So far, so good" Everybody thought.

Next, they had Jewel run five dimensional-light years on the treadmills. She got through it without losing control. The ponies had her lift weights and perform target practice, Jewel got through still calm.

Now was the true test; sparring. It was Jewel vs. Buddy. "You ready, Jewel?" Buddy asked. Jewel nodded.

Busy charged Jewel, who leaped out of the way and pounced on him. Jewel leaped off Buddy, allowing him to get up. Buddy bought our his whip, "VINE WHIP..!!" Buddy extended his whip towards Jewel but she leaped and flipped over him, landing on all fours. She unleashed "WOLF CHARGE..!!", blasting an energy stream at Buddy. It hit him and knocked him down.

"Hold!" Grand Ruler called, "Nice work."

Buddy stood up, "Thank you, your majesty," he said, "Nice footwork, Jewel..... Jewel?"

Everybody turned to Jewel and saw in horror as get eyes turned red once again!

"Oh no!" Lightning thought.

Jewel roared and pounced into Dyno and Myte, but she was quickly pulled off by Lightning and Starla. Jewel squirmed violently in their arms and broke loose. She blasted energy attacks at all her friends, who dodged.

"She's going beserk!" Artie cried.

Jewel snarled and bared her teeth and began jumping violently into the walls, "She's going to hurt herself!" Lightning cried. Their majesties couldn't watch this for another second. They turned to each other and nodded. Together they used their magic to hold Jewel in place. Jewel was wiggling violently, howling and snarling until she suddenly grew quiet and glowed, changing back into her normal self.

Jewel's eyes squinted open and she was greeted by the concerned and slightly afraid faces of her friends.

"I lost control again, didn't I?" Jewel asked, scared. All her friends reluctantly nodded. Tears began to come out of Jewel's eyes and she suddenly rushed out of the training dojo, "Jewel! Wait!" Lightning called out as he and his friends rushed after her, including their majesties.

Jewel didn't listen and kept running and running, until she was on the outskirts of New Ponyville, in the forest.

All her friends could do was watch as she vanished into the forest.

That afternoon, their majesties sent a search party to find Jewel but sadly, they all came back with nothing. Meanwhile, Lightning and friends were trying to figure out what went wrong.

"She was fine with the target practice and running. But when she got to sparring again, she lost control." Krysta summarized.

Lightning was trying his hardest to figure it out. Then he remembered something Twilight told him long ago....

Lightning felt exhausted after that outburst, and his head was aching. “What am I going to do?”

“For one thing, you can quit the dramatics.” said familiar voice. “Huh? That voice…! Am I hearing things.” he stammered “Twilight…? Where are you?” Then he gazed down in the puddle by his feet, and saw his reflection morph into Twilight’s Angel-corn.

“Twilight, is it really you?”

“No, it’s your fairy-god pony. Of course it’s me.”

Lightning almost didn’t know what to say or even think. He hadn’t seen the spirit of his friend in a long time, and seeing her just now made him happy and sad at the same time. “Listen to me Lightning, I don’t have a lot of time, but I’m here to help you just a bit.”

“Help me, how?”

“Lightning, you remember when you faced King Sombra? Well, all you have to do is think. Just think about what you were feeling.”

"Maybe that's it?" Lightning said.

"What's it Lightning?" Rainbow asked.

"Maybe, the reason why Jewel keeps losing control is because of an emotion." Lightning stated.

"An emotion?" Rarity asked.

"Yes. Maybe the emotion Jewel feels when she changes into a wolf, causes her to lose control." Lightning added.

"But what emotion could she be feeling?" Pinkie asked.

"Based on the last two events, she it looks like combination of fear and anger." Lightning predicted. The others thought he was correct, except Rainbow, "Jewel! Angry?! Puh-lease, she's about as soft as Fluttershy. No offense." she stared.

"Yes, but anger came bring out the worst in ponies. In Jewel's case, her anger made her lose control." Lightning replied.

"So she just needs to learn how to control her anger." Starla added.

"But we've still got to find her first." Buddy added. Suddenly, screams and cries of panic filled the streets. Lightning and returns saw Swift, Carla and Bron walking in the street.

"Let's go!" Lightning ordered. The ponies ran towards the minions and confronted them. "What are you three doing here?" Artie snarled.

"Isn't it obvious? We're here to destroy you. Without your precious little unicorn, you're defenseless!" Carla declared.

"We'll see about that!" Pinkie snarled.

"STARFLEET MAGIC..!!"

"HARMONY HOUR, FRIENDSHIP POWER..!!"

"DRAGON POWER..!!"

The minions charged the ponies. Starla and Buddy fought Carla, Lightning, Rhymey and Buddy fought against Bron and the girls and twins fought against Swift.

Starla and Buddy punched and kicked Carla, but she skillfully blocked they're attacks. "SCREECH..!!!" Carla blasted soundwaves at the two, forcing them to cover their ears.

"Agh..!! My ears..!!" Starla cried.

"Mine too..!!" Bbuddy added.

Carla then dashed at Starla and Buddy and she slashed them hard, sending them to the ground.

The girls and the twins weren't having much luck either, Swift was just too fast. Everytime, they tried to attack him, she dashed out of thw way and clawed them.

"Eat this, SPEED BOLT...!!"Swift covered himself in electricity and charged thw ponies, sending them flying and dealing their suits ninety percent damage!

Lightning saw this and was horrified but couldn't go and help his friends becasue of Bron. He repeated attenpted to charge Lightning who dodged but every kick and punch Lightning threw, barely did any damage, not even a scratch.

"Pathetic, HORN BARRAGE..!!" Bron's horns glowed and blasted multiple balls of energy at Lightning, sending him to the ground.

"Lightning....no!" Starla groaned. All the fighters were on the ground with only a little power left in their suits.

"Now...what?" Dyno asked, "They're... just.... too... strong." Myte added.

The minions laughed wickedly. "Looks like the tables have turned permanently." Swift sneered. His comrades nodded in agreement.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of New Ponyville, Jewel was crying in a small cave. "I'll never control my new powers." she thought miserably.

"Don't say that Jewel." a voice said. Jewel perked her head up. "Twilight?!... Is that you?!" In a bright flash of light, Twilight's angel appeared.

"What... What are you doing here?" Jewel asked.

"I'm here to help you."

"How?"

"In order to control your powers, yippy have to control your emotions first."

"Control my emotions?"

"Yes. Your anger is making you run wild."

Jewel was shocked, "I.... I never thought of that."

"Controlling your emotions can help you control your powers."

"I think I get it."

"Good, Now you should put out to the test. Your friends are in gave danger."

Jewel gasped, "They need you, Jewel." Twilight added.

"Alright Twilight." Jewel praised, "And thanks." Twilight nodded and she vanished. Jewel walked out of the cave and saw New Ponyville. She narrowed her eyes and dashed towards it, determined to help her friends.

Swift, Carla and Bron approached Lightning, planning to destroy him trust. "Time to get rid of the most annoying pony first." Swift sneered. All three of them preapred to blast him, "NOOO...!!!" the pther cried. However, before they could....

"STARFLEET MAGIC...!!!, Power of Animals..!!"

"Huh?"

"What?"

Jewel came in and kicked the minions away from Lightning. "Jewel?!" the ponies cried both relieved and surprised.

The villians were not happy. "You'll pay for that!" Bron snarled. Bron charged Jewel but she leaped out of the way and quickly changed into a wolf. "HOWL PULSE"
She blasted the minions hard, landed safely on the ground and howled. Swift stood up and started dashing all over the place.

Jewel, remebering what Twilight said, concentrated and was able to pinpoint where he was going to strike. When he was beyond her, Jewel turned around and bit his arms and spun around and him flying into his comrades.

"Awesome!" cried Rainbow.

"Alright Jewel!" added Pinkie.

The minions knew they were defeated, this time.

"Ugh well get you next time ponies!" Carla cried.

With that she and her comrades vanished.

Jewel, still in her wolf form walked up to Lightning. The others feared she was about to lose control again. But amazingly, she started licking his wounds and nuzzling him. Lightning rubbed her neck, making Jewel wag her tail.

"Looks like you have control over your powers now, Jewel." Lightning commented. Jewel nodded.

Jewel's eyes suddenly glowed yellow as well as LIghtning and his friends. They began floating in the air. "What's going on?" Rainbow sked.

Jewel growled softly and Fluttershy translated, "She said that she’s taking us to the sickbay to get healed."

"We can get their ourselves Jewel." Rainbow replied. Jewel shook her head, not buying it. Before long, the gang was in the sickbay with their wounds healed. Their majesties came and heard the glorious news. Jewel, no longer in her wolf form, was at her friends bedsides.

"Well, Jewel, Lightning told us that you've finally controlled your animal magic." Grand Ruler stated.

"Yes, your majesty." Jewel replied.

"And now you can use it to help your friends." Celestia added. Jewel smilied proudly. Now with her magic under control, who knows what she can do!

In our next episode; The ponies give Jewel a new vehicle to help to get to emergencies quick. It gets put to the test when the New Ponyville Dam breaks and swepts her friends away in the raging current.
