Return

The TARDIS voices its dislike of traveling through the fabric of the very multiverse with a series of cranking noises, and explosion noises. The Doctor consoles it as he runs around the console, “Come on, we have to get back. You can survive this, yes you can.” It responds with another crank, “Oh, come off it, you aren’t doing this all your own! You had a portal opened for you by Survivor, a powerful portal might I add!”

I cling onto a pole as much as possible. I’ve become to used to wearing the Ring, I find it hard to keep my balance on here. Why doesn’t my poise skill cover this? I shout at the Doctor, “Is this supposed to happen!? You’ve been using the TARDIS for two months without complications, why is it bad now!?”

He runs around, “We weren’t going through the fabric of existence before! Other than that, I have no idea. There shouldn’t be any barrier.” He takes down a screen, and looks at it, “There is chaos magic forming a barrier to stop any outsiders from getting in. That’s why. We can’t bust through that using just space.”

He starts to run around more, “What does that mean?”

He flips switch after switch, “That barrier can’t be burst though using just our kinetic energy. The TARDIS is good, but not even it can travel fast enough to break that barrier. So we add on Time Energy to our kinetic, so it will be like multiple TARDIS’s breaking in at once. One TARDIS can’t do it, but multiple can. Take our time energy so we attack with five in a single second to get through the barrier! I think.”

I shake my head, “You think!?”

He flies around the console like a bat out of hell, “This is the first time I did this, okay!? I never had to take magic into account, so it’s an unknown variable. I have never had to use time energy to increase force before. This is the first time this has happened, and I’m a pony no less. I do not know the consequences from using time energy. I don’t know if this magic can be broken. I don’t know, and I love it!” He wraps a hoof around a final switch, “This is going to be dangerous!”

I smile, “It’s like you said! I don’t know, and I love it! Let’s go!”

He smiles, and laughs as he pulls the switch, “Geronimo, Kendrick, geromino!”

I laugh along with him as we go hurtling into the barrier.

The feeling made is near impossible to describe with words.

It felt like you existed fifty times at the same time, all fifty of you inside of each other thinking the same thing. It’s like every cell and microscopic organism on you all exist two times over, each one of them existing two times over again. My ears heard every sound made in my entire body, and it was deafening hearing fifty hearts with fifty ears hearing fifty barriers fall and cells producing ATP and to hear your left and right brain argue as if they are their own people. My eyes saw themselves, an infinite loop of me looking into my own soul fifty times over. I felt my cells, the oxygen I breathe and the water I produce, the bacteria and bugs too tiny to see, every atom of my being times fifty. I smell the fabric of reality. I taste the colors, red, blue, green, pink, even some that haven’t been discovered!

Then, it all ended. My senses return to normal, and I feel almost cheated.

Then, I see the door of the TARDIS blown open, flying into the Equestrian sky. The TARDIS is burning quite a lot, and with the doors being gone, I can see Equestria from a bird’s eye view.

The Doctor springs to the ground, “Kendrick, hold on!”

I grapple the pole with even more strength as we go through a random mountain. I hear squawks of pain, “Doctor, I think we hit a Pegasus!”

He grips hold of something, “Collateral damage!”

We start to slow down, but still move quite fast. I see Canterlot approaching quickly.

“Brace for impact!”

I hold on with all my might when we hit the ground. We don’t bounce, just travel on until it stops.

I let go, and stand up. Looking out the door, I see a trench cut through the Canterlot Gardens from our decent. I take a step outside, and look at the state of the TARDIS. On fire, and pouring out smoke.

The Doctor comes rushing out, leaning on a tree and coughing heavily. I sigh in relief, “We made it. We made it!”

We rush together, laughing our excitement, “We made it!” Then, he looks at the TARDIS, “Oh no, not again! This is going to take a week to fix at least!”

I’m about to say something. But I’m interrupted by a female voice from behind me, “And where the hell have you been?!”

I turn around to see someone blue, crystal like, and female, “Karma.”

She walks up to me, gets right up in my face, “Do you know how long you were gone?!”

I shake my head, “No.”

She leans back, “Dang, I hoped you did because I forgot.” She leans back in, “It was a long time, okay! Everyone thought you had all died! Ditzy and Dinky Doo mourned you, they cried for months! Not just you, but the Doctor as well! Max has gone missing after the Elements were used on him! I was worried, Kendrick! My champion on this world! Just hopped into a box and disappeared for about a year! I thought you were dead! Do you know what that did to me!? I feel like your mother, saving you from death and giving you powers like an adopted son, loving you! Then you just disappear into nothingness!”

I lean back a bit, “I offer my face up for slapping, if that would make you feel better.”

She looks right at me, before laughing hard, “Oh, that’s wonderful. I couldn’t do that. Your like a son to me, I can’t just slap you for personal pleasure.”

I hold out my arms, “I offer my body for hugging, if that would make you feel better.”

She accepts the offer, “I’m just glad your back. Be careful, I worry about what will happen in the near future. And you are to tell me before you go off to save the multiverse next time!”

I smile, “Of corse.”

She breaks the hug, “Now, I’m sure Celestia will want words with the both of you. Good luck with that.”

She disappears. The Doctor blanches at her words, “Celestia is coming?”

I turn to face him, “Run?”

He nods, “Run.”
