Run

“In the name of Equestria, stop!”

My long legs are a blur of motion as I run along. The Doctor looks back at me, “Faster, Kendrick, faster!”

I pant for breath as I run along, and look behind me. At least ten guards are chasing after us. Another pony in the distance flies up into the air, and takes off after us at subsonic speeds.

Oh shit. I look forward again, only to see the Doctor trip, “LEGO trap!”

I see him shout out in pain as he grasps his hoof, and try to slow down. At my speed, it’s impossible. My armored boot finds itself above a lego, stepping down upon it. Even with the steel plating and enchantments on that boot, I can feel the LEGO find it’s way into my foot. I trip in place, and land on more lego’s, that also hurt a lot, “Ahhhhh!”

I land on top of the Doctor, and go rolling off of him. He smacks the LEGO’s away from him, “That is surprisingly effective!”

The subsonic pony lands next to us. Rainbowish hair, white coat, horn and wings. Aww shit, it’s Celestia. The Doctor looks up at her, “Hello Princess, fine day we’re having, isn’t it?”

She looks at the both of us, “Well, I do suppose it is fine weather, my Pegasi have made a truely brilliant day. What wasn’t so fine was seeing two ponies running from my guards, and a trench through my gardens. But, seeing that blue box has helped things out considerably.”

The Doctor and I exchange glances, before he speaks again, “What?”

She smiles, “Seeing at your face, surpise, and general tone about you, I assume this is the first time we’ve met. Something old, something new, Doctor. You are looking different from the last time I saw you.”

He slightly smiles, “Oh, so you know me? Good, good, I don’t want to anger the god of the world. See, what happened there was beyond my control. Now, I’m sure me and my human have something to do...”

She looks directly at me, “Oh yes, you two always have something to do. Now, I do recall hearing from my fellow Princess about her meeting a new friend. A raggedy old watchmaker with a human. A scientist. I remember hearing naught about that for near a few months now. Something you did, Kendrick, or was it the Doctor?”

He clears his throat, “Well, you see, Kendrick is-“

She interrupts, “An extraterrestrial intelligent human who is quite the pleasure to talk to.”

I smile behind my helmet, before stopping through nervousness, “I don’t know about that second part, but yes.”

She nods, “Oh, no need to be so humble. I’ve had many conversations with you in the past, found you a great speaker. Luna seems to think so as well. Talks of how she became friends with somepony in Ponyville, and didn’t expect me to do some snooping.” She smiles, “It is so fun to tease my dear sister. Even if today isn’t much fun at all.”

I stand up, making sure to dodge the LEGOs, “What’s happened?”

She sighs, “Max has gone missing, and Twilight is worried out of her mind. He was waking in the gardens, and just up and vanished. Now I have to decide wether to look for him or console Twilight.”

I look towards the Doctor, and we mentally agree upon the same action, “You comfort her. We can look for Max. I have to apologize to him as well.”

She nods, and smiles with nostalgia, “Every time you two are around, something bad happens. With Max missing, and you two showing up, I fear for the worst. But you’ll solve it, you always do. Good luck.”

I nod back, “Good luck.”

She flies off, and I help the Doctor to his hooves. We haven’t left the gardens in their entirety, only having ran for thirty seconds. The shrubs around us are thick, and Max could be in any of them. The Doctor gets up, and brushes dust off his coat, “Well, that was something that happened.” He puts his back to a nearby bush, “Well-“

His words are cut off by a club to the back of the head. A human stands there, holding the offending club. I instantly draw the Ugikatana, and point it at him. He puts his hands up, “Come?”

I look at him in a mixture of shock and excitement. He spoke, “You speak?”

He backs up slightly, “Come, see. Follow.”

I slowly return my sword to its sheathe, “Follow where?”

He looks at me intensely as I put away my weapon, “Den, follow. Not pony place”

I point at the Doctor, “I’m taking him with me.”

He shakes his head, “No pony come. Den no pony place.”

I cross my arms, “It’s either both of us or neither of us.”

He crosses his arms back, “You come, no pony.”

I shake my head, “That ain’t happening. I won’t come without him. You say yes, I go willingly. You say no, I won’t go. You try and force me, the only thing going back will be your head.”

The guy stares at me, before relenting, “Bring pony then. Follow.”
