It all began a long, long time ago, when the earth ponies, the pegasi, and the unicorns were still enemies.
They were fighting each other in many wars, killing and hating each other. Each passing day, their hatred increased, and they used all the strategies they could think of. The unicorns even created the most powerful magic, dark magic and necromancy. With this magic, they were beginning to win the war. However, the dark magic they were using fed on the sins of the ponies, on their hatred, and on their impure hearts, leading to the creation of a powerful shapeshifting creature made of shadows, calling itself Arachno. The monster’s power was unimaginable. The weapons did not have any effect on him, the magic was useless, and even the most powerful unicorn did not stand a chance.
His dark powers allowed him to corrupt the spirit of the ponies, leading them to evil and increasing his strength. It took him only few hours to take over the lands, and he made a big castle touching the clouds. Then he used his powers to cover the skies with dark magic, plunging the lands into an eternal darkness. The ponies’ suffering was his joy and he loved breaking their spirit.
However, when the ponies were losing all hope, the three factions established a truce to fight together against the monster, they joined their forces and went to the castle where… they were utterly defeated.
Even when they had all accepted their fate, one unicorn tried to continue the fight. The unicorn was good at magic but no matter how strong the magic was, she was useless against the being made of darkness.
But, something happened. Before Arachno could give the fatal blow, the earth ponies, the pegasi, and the unicorns joined their hearts and their magic to the fallen unicorn. Their last hope created a new kind of pony, a pony who had wings and a horn, an alicorn.
With her new power, the alicorn attacked and was able to hurt the dark creature. Her magic could disintegrate the body of Arachno, her magic was pure without any sin, only hope. She was incorruptible due to her pure heart.
The fight lasted for three days when the alicorn finally used all her magic to do an ultimate spell destroying the evil creature; but the spell also cost her life, and in her last moments, she hoped that ponies could understand each other.
However, the three factions, after agreeing to never use dark magic ever again and forbidding it, ceased the truce and fought again in endless wars. They erased from history the first alicorn and the mighty beast and never talked about it, only wanting to forget. But ignorance never helps.
“Finally, after all this time, I have returned.”
In a dark cave, water drops falling from the stalactites could be heard. Only one ray of light was inside the cave, showing a big stone statue of some kind of monster which had been damaged. It had long horns on the head, a face where with only the eyes and a mouth, no ears, no nose. It had big claws, and a long tail without any feet. The cave was silent. Nothing could be heard except the water drops. Suddenly, away from the ray of light, a black smoke began to gather, forming a big black ball. After a few seconds, two white circles opened before becoming red. After that, a mouth with the interior glowing white appeared. The ball expended and soon formed the body of the creature represented by the statue. He was tall.
“Finally, after all this time, I have returned,” the monster said before smiling. He looked around him and growled. “Is this… my castle? There is almost nothing left except for this statue. And all of this because of that damned alicorn! Whatever. The fools thought it would be easy to destroy me, but as long as there is hate or dark magic, I will not disappear. However, I must say that it took me some time to return. With so many wars, I should have been here much sooner. Don’t tell me that the three factions are at peace now… no, it has to be something else, they could never find peace,” he said before turning over his statue. He admired its face. He approached his right hand to touch the statue, but when the ray of light touched him, he felt pain and retracted his hand immediately, and saw smoke escaping from where the sunray touched him.
“WHAT!? I… I feel alicorn magic! It’s impossible, I am sure she died at the end of our fight! Is she… No, she is dead, I can’t feel her magic signature. But then why do the sun rays have alicorn magic? Is there a new alicorn?” Arachno thought. He had to know. He closed his eyes and concentrated, clearing his mind, and a purple crystal ball appeared in his left palm. He opened his eyes and saw the orb floating in front of him, he touched it with one of his fingers when suddenly, images appeared, showing Equestria from the sky. “Now, I recognize this place even after all these years. It has changed a lot, I can see that there are more houses than before, more towns and… WHAT!?” he shouted, seeing an earth pony and a unicorn talking to each other, with big smiles on their faces. At first, he thought they were some traitors who wanted peace, but then he saw more of them, a pegasus and an earth pony, a unicorn and a pegasus. All were having a good day, together, like the war never happened.
“No… So, I was right, those damn ponies are living in peace. This is why I have much less power, there is less hate, less darkness in this realm. I had better watch all the changes that occurred. My power is weakened and if there is really an alicorn, I don’t stand a chance. When she died I thought I would return quickly and that this time there will be no one to STOP ME!” he shouted before breaking stalactite to pieces with a punch. “No, I have to stay calm, I must watch how the world evolved and think of a plan.”

Yeah, I know it's short, but don't worry it's because that's only the prologue , the next chapters will be longer around 2000 words or more. I hope you'll like the story. Also, it may take me some time to update the story because I'm really busy in real life and on other websites.

Trust
Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship was sleeping, a well-deserved sleep, she worked hard the entire day, being a princess is hard, but for some reason she loved it, she loves learning. However, even if it was a peaceful normal day, will her dream be as peaceful?
Twilight opened her eyes and saw an enormous library and the best thing was that she didn’t see any end to it. She saw many books even some she’s never seen.
“That’s weird, how can I dream about a book I’ve never read?” She asked herself. “Well, doesn’t matter, even if sleeping isn’t all great, it has some good things.” She said while looking around.
She took a book with her magic and sat on the floor, it was white and bright, the entire ‘’room’’ was white, the only colored thing was the library. She read, and it was like hours passed, it was… weird, a dream doesn’t last that long.
“Twilight” What was that? She was sure somepony whispered her name or maybe it was only her imagination.
“Twilight” Well, it happened again
“Twilight” Okay, now there is definitely something weird, she didn’t recognize that voice, and it was a voice rather scary.
“Oh no, it must be a nightmare.” She said, she knew a library that big couldn’t be all good, now, what sort of monster will try to eat her?
“Twilight Sparkle, I know thou can hear me.” The voice said, Twilight looked around her and saw the books, burning with dark flames. “I need thy help… so
WAKE UP!” The voice shouted
Twilight suddenly opened the eyes and yelled, she was in her bed, sweating like hell and beside her was Spike.
“Wow, calm down Twilight, you startled me, I’ve been trying to wake you for an hour now.” Spike said. “Did you have a nightmare?” He asked, she was agitated and seemed restless, she even had bags under her eyes. “At what time did you go to bed yesterday?” He asked
Twilight looked around her.
“Spike? I… I went to bed at the time I usually go every night, what… what time is it?” She asked while rubbing her eyes.
“It’s noon and…”
“It’s WHAT?! Oh no, I overslept! Where is Starlight? Why didn’t she wake me?” Twilight asked hysterically.
“Well, she went shopping, we didn’t have cake anymore and she promised she’ll give some to Pinkie for her party.” Spike answered while following Twilight who was rushing to at the bathroom to brush her teeth. “Twilight, are you okay, you overslept, there is nothing wrong with that, I’m more concerned by your nightmare, you sounded really scared.” He said while Twilight spitted the water in her mouth.
“Don’t worry about me Spike, I’m fine, it was only a bad dream, did the map called somepony while I was sleeping?” She asked while yawning.
“No, do you want me to prepare something to eat?” He asked changing subjects, he wanted her to stop being stressed for everything, it would be good for her to release stress for a while.
“Now that you say it, I’m hungry, I think I have time for a meal.” Twilight said while smiling, Spike nodded at her and ran to the kitchen.
Twilight smiled to herself, Spike is kind, worrying for her every time, now that she thinks about it, she should do a little surprise for him, not one big party like Pinkie’s, but at least a big cake full of gems. She walked around the castle until reaching the throne room where was the huge map, surrounded by six thrones, plus one smaller beside Twilight’s.
“Thou have a big castle”
Twilight turn around, surprised, and looked around the room.
“Is there somepony here? Princess Luna?” Twilight asked before walking slowly to her throne. “I’m hearing things, I must have overworked myself yesterday.”

“How are thou my sister?” Luna asked while looking at Celestia who was drinking her tea.
They were together, sitting at the dining table.
“I’m fine, but… the last night, I’ve… I’ve never sensed a magic so dark, I had the impression that was death itself.” She said while shaking a little, Luna looked at her worriedly.
“Did… did thou sensed where it was coming from?”
“No, whatever it is, it’s hiding its presence, so I cannot even tell if it was in Equestria.”
“Maybe we should tell Twilight Sparkle and her friends.” Luna suggested, Celestia raised her head in a hurry.
“No! As I said, this magic was dark, malicious and most of all, powerful, we can’t take the risk to send them after that, they… they’ll…” Celestia wasn’t able to finish that sentence, she didn’t want something to happen to her little ponies, Luna sighed.
“Still, we must do something, we better call Cadance… and Twilight Sparkle, she’s still a princess after all.” Luna while trying to calm down her sister.
“I… I agree, we can’t let that thing move freely, if we unite the our magics, we should be able to destroy it, there is nothing that can resist to the power of four alicorn princesses.” Celestia said before standing up. “I need a sheet of paper, and a pen.”

“Here are your scrambled eggs Twilight!” Spike said while giving the plate to the princess, she took them using her magic and thanked Spike. “Well, if you don’t need me, I’ll go read comics!” Spike added before heading out of the room.
When he exited, Twilight took a bite, enjoying her eggs.
“We are finally alone, young one.” A weird voice said, Twilight spitted her food in surprise.
“W… Who!?”
“Dost not be afraid, I am real, and I am not thy enemy.”
Twilight took small breath, and some time to recompose herself.
“Who are you? And how do you speak to me? It’s like your voice is coming from my head.” Twilight said worryingly, she didn’t even with wo she was speaking.
“I am sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Arachno and thou are Princess Twilight Sparkle.”
“Well, I see you already know me, but I still don’t know how you are talking to me, it’s not against you, but it’s as if I was talking to myself, it’s weird.”
“I am talking to thou telepathically, as for why, it’s because I need thy help young one, before speaking, listen to my story… I was born millions of years ago, now you are asking yourself, how?” Arachno asked
Twilight hesitated responded with a ‘yes’.
“Firstly, I am not a pony, I am born from ponies, but I am not one of them, I am born from dark magic and thus, that same magic allows me to live, however, because of that, everyone rejected me, they thought I was a monster, just because I had dark magic, they wanted to kill me when all I wanted was to befriend them, I didn’t have a choice and imprisoned myself far away, sleeping. However, I awoke now, my spell was dissipated by time, but the hope came back when I saw thou, well not exactly saw, but sensed, the spell I am using allows me to sense someone’s magic and watch them.”
“I… I am confused, I’ve never heard of you.”
“As I thought, they erased my existence from history.”
“I’ll help you, I never reject somepony who wants friends!” Twilight said happily, she was afraid that this Arachno may be dangerous or something, but he was only lost and needed friends and there’s nopony better than the princess of friendship herself to help with that.
“I knew thou will understand me, but you must hurry young one, the two other princesses, Celetia and… and…”
“I think you’re speaking of Celestia and Luna, what about them, is there a problem?”
“When I came back, they sensed my magic and they feared me, I fear they will try to erase my existence, thou must stop them.”
“Oh, well if you’re worried about that, you shouldn’t be, they’re my friends, if I explain them calmly they’ll…”
“NO!”
The sudden shout made Twilight startle.
“I… I mean, I’m not ready for this, thou should understand my feelings, I suffered because I was different, I prefer to wait to be ready and show myself when the time comes, we’ve been friends for only a few minutes, but thou can trust me, and I can trust thou, friends trust each other no matter what, don’t they young one? Don’t they? Real friends always trust each other.”
Arachno was acting weird, but Twilight didn’t pay attention to that, she looked away, thinking of something else.
“This will be so easy. You are too naive”
“So, what do you want me to tell them? I don’t see how Princess Celestia would ignore a threat, and I don’t know if she’ll believe what I’ll tell her.”
“I might have an idea, I heard of somebody called Discord, was it?”
“Yes, what about him? Don’t tell me you want his help or something, I don’t think he would accept, furthermore, he’s the master of chaos and on the contrary of you, he’s not always very friendly.” Twilight responded
“Oh, I have a better idea than that, well, it’s more of a bet, but thou said these two princesses were your friends, shouldn’t they trust thou? Now, now, what am I thinking, of course they trust thou, because they believe in thou, thou’ve always trusted them, but maybe I’m wrong, there must be sometimes where they thought thou were a filthy liar? A selfish pony? Don’t mind me, I want to be sure nobody will hurt me, thou can understand, right?” Arachno asked her. Twilight looked away.
“I…” She was hesitating, this was strange, why would the princess of friendship hesitate to answer a question of that kind? “No, you’re right, we’ve always trusted each other, even in the worst moments.”
“Then go, please Twilight, lie to save a friend, what could go wrong?”
Twilight opened the door of her castle, spread her wings and flew away. Just at same moment, Spike entered in the room with a scroll in his right hand.
“There’s a letter from Celestia Twilight!” Spike exclaimed, he looked around the room. “Where did she go?” He asked himself.

“I am so worried, I’ve never felt something so evil! When Cadence and Twilight arrive, we’ll work on a plan to find that creature and we’ll fight it together, this is our only chance!” Celestia said as she was walking around Luna. She didn’t seem good; her mane was a real mess.
“Thou worry too much sister, we don’t even know what you felt exactly, it could be a dark artifact and nothing more.” Luna tried to reassure her.
Suddenly, the door of the throne room opened, Luna Celestia looked at it and saw Cadence running to them with a worried look on her face.
“I came as fast as I could, what is the matter?” Cadence asked hurryingly, Celesta was about to respond when another alicorn came through the doorway.
“Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, what is it?!” Twilight asked acting ignorant.
“There is a great danger coming to Equestria.” Luna responded.
“Yes, during the night, I felt dark magic like I’ve never did before, so I called you…” Celestia started but was stopped by Twilight.
“Oh! I’m sorry Princess! I think I know what you sensed! It was Discord!” Twilight exclaimed, Celestia and Luna looked confused.
“Discord? What do you mean?” Celestia asked
“Well, you see, me and my friends were talking about Sombra for some reason and Discord was bragging about his powers saying that he was way better at using dark magic, you know him, always trying to show off. But don’t worry, I scolded him for using dark magic!” Twilight said confidently, Celestia and Luna looked at each other. “You trust me, right?”
“Of course, I trust you Twilight… I… I must have been too much worried I guess…” Celestia responded
“Then that’s that! If we are finished, I’d like to go, I have work to do, you know, Princess things!” Twilight said, Celestia nodded in agreement as Twilight turned around and exited. Celestia narrowed her eyes, Discord? What kind of excuse was that, or maybe it wasn’t…
“Get somepony to follow her.” Celestia said to her sister.
“I’ll work on that.”
“Oh, I don’t like where this is going.” Cadence added with a worried look on her face.
