Suddenly, Philip came to a stop, just as they exited the basement. "Wait a second."

Twilight did as he asked, though not before raising a brow in confusion. Suddenly, the humming from earlier came back, and she saw a woman with a bunny mask come through the doorway. She wore a belt with 5 hatchets all attached to it, an axe held in her two hands. She had a look of excitement in her eyes when she saw Twilight, and grabbed a hatchet from her belt to throw at her. Philip quickly took hold of Twilight, and gave a glare that told the woman to back off. Seemingly taking the hint, the woman backed off, though not before giving a menacing smile towards Twilight.

Heart pounding, Twilight took a moment to calm herself before speaking. "Who was that?"

"The Huntress... or at least that’s as much of what I can know from her. As the name implies, she's almost as good of a tracker as I am. Don't take that as a sign she's mature though, she's got the mind of a 7 year old. It's the only reason she hums as she hunts, and is able to lose her connection with the Entity by default." Philip paused for second, before continuing. "Don't tell her I said that either, she's a nasty one to tango with too."

Philip then let go of Twilight and walked out of the building, Twilight continuing to follow him. After a minute or so of what felt like aimless wandering, Twilight broke the silence. "So what is this game of The Entity?"

"The game of The Entity is simple. Repair generators, and then open the exit gates to escape, with a hatch being an alternative. We killers hunt, hinder, and sacrifice the survivors using whatever we can, with the special boon of killing them ourselves should certain conditions be met."

"Certain conditions?" Twilight asked.

"Mainly powerful items and offerings. You could take the form of a killer who can kill, or take lessons from ones who know how to use the fog's power to allow such a thing to happen. After the game, both the killer and the survivors are given rewards based on how well they played. Nothing beyond what they can earn within the average lifespan of whatever they are, however. Those level of rewards are reserved for when the killers or survivors have peaked their favor with The Entity, or they're already proto-gods."

Philip turned to point at Twilight, but stopped mid-way as if noticing something, which set Twilight on the edge, as she slowly turned around. Behind her stood a man wearing blue coveralls, who was watching her closely without any movement, a knife in his right hand. Almost as if he was a statue. "Word of advice? Never taunt The Shape. It'll be the last thing you do before that knife of his goes through your chest. He's the only killer who can outright kill survivors. Not even the Entity can stop his power from becoming strong enough."

Philip then focused back on Twilight. "Back to the what I was saying, take yourself for example, you're a proto-god, so if you're good to the Entity you can get weapons that can harm gods, maybe even get up to godly status."

Her eyes widened, her mind calculating everything she was told, as they walked on in silence for a few minutes. "So it's basically a high risk, high reward game that most may or may not get the chance of playing?"

"If you put it that way, yes. Though both demigods and gods will be reduced to nothing but a mere mortal's capability, with the fog either shaping their power into already existing skills, or weakening them greatly." Philip then spun the weapon around, as he mindlessly wandered around the map. "Mind reading would be changed to bond, healing factor to knowing how to heal oneself without medical supplies. I could go on for ages, but we'd be spending too much time listing each and every modification, and it would give you too big of an advantage against us." He then released a growl, his grip getting tighter on the weapon. "Especially once you learn that damn set of skills to basically guarantee your survival..."

Twilight was unable to hear what Philip muttered, but understood what he was saying by his tone. “Back to the conversation, you’re actually speaking with the oldest version of killers. Better yet, the very original one, that only the best of regular survivors get the honor of meeting.”

“Original?” Twilight asked, genuinely confused as to what he meant.

“Those that don’t fit the Entity’s requirements of a unique or powerful killer, are given a copycat form of us,” Philip said as they walked. “You’d see people like me, but they’d still act and talk in their own voices when not in a chase. And it seems the Entity has decided to let you meet all of the original crew. By the way, please keep your best behavior around-”

The sound of a bear trap went off, as Philip accidentally stepped on one, causing him to yell in pain. Twilight moved to help, but Philip raised a hand. “Don’t worry, I’m spiritual,” he said as he easily removed the bear trap. “Still hurts to have stuff like this happen to you though. At least there was no diamond stone… that shit hurts almost as much as the Entity’s strikes. In any case, just wait again.”

They did so again, and moments later a guy wearing a hockey mask and a machete came over to them, along with a butcher with a chainsaw and a mallet, wearing a mask made of faces. The guy wearing the hockey mask grunted. “Great” the guy said sarcastically. “Another weak demigod to deal with.”

“I don’t know, Evan,” the butcher said while staring at Twilight, who looked about ready to bolt. “This one seems like that she can pick up on things extremely fast. Chances are, she’ll have THAT loadout in a few dozen trials or so.”

“Please,” the newly named Evan said dismissively. “She looks like the type that can’t deal with pain at all. She’d leave within a few trials of my own.” Evan then walked away, not even sparing a glance at Twilight. The butcher looked to Twilight, then to Philip, and finally back to Twilight.

“You guys mind if I come along?” the butcher said giddly.

Philip sighed. “Yes, Leatherface, you can come along.” Leatherface released a yay. “No regaling Twilight of your previous life though. You’ve grossed away too many newcomers with your story, both killer and survivor.”

“Awww, but I really want to tell her about the time that me and Thomas made a home made bumper car ride with riding mowers in the backyard-”

“NO.” Philip said a little louder than he was before. Leatherface then proceeded to walk behind Twilight.

I’d want to ask, but I greatly feel like I should take Philip’s advice.

“So in case you didn’t know,” Leatherface said, catching Twilight’s attention. “We killers have an almost unbreakable connection with the Entity, which is shown by a red light that doesn’t go far. You can always see it in front of us.”

Twilight looked to Leatherface, not seeing a red light until she looked down at the ground, realizing that Leatherface’s vision was where the red light was. Which was directly on her.

“Interesting…” Twilight thought to herself, making a note to look for these lights in future trials of the Entity.

Philip then noticed a totem made of bone with a fire lit underneath it, and grew a devious grin. “Hey Twilight, you see that?” Philip said, pointing to the totem. Twilight looked to where the totem was. “That’s a hex totem. It feeds powers directly to killers. Go ahead and destroy it!”

“Don’t do it, Twilight,” Leatherface warned her, knowing the outcome already.

Twilight, being too trustful of Philip, walked over to the totem to destroy it, causing a malnourished woman covered in mud and very little clothing to appear, with claws that rip flesh apart easily. Twilight shrieked at the sight of this, running back to hide behind Philip, who was laughing his ass off. Leatherface simply cast a disapproving gaze towards Philip.

The malnourished woman looked at Twilight, who still cowered behind Philip. “Quite the tasty looking morsel you are…” The malnourished woman looked to Leatherface as Philip was still trying to stop laughing. Leatherface shook his head. “No, Lisa. The Entity lets nobody attack her as of now. Just leave the trial or something.”

Lisa growled for a bit, staring at Twilight for a few seconds before leaving the area, disappearing behind a wall. Philip had finally calmed down enough to talk.

“Knew the hag trapped that!” Philip said with a smile plastered on his face. “Oh man, never gets old watching it happen.”

“Hope your next trial is a shit one,” Leatherface said while giving him an angry glare, Twilight giving an equally angry one as well.

Philip noticed this quickly. “Oh come on! It’s not like I got you hurt or something.” He then sighed, before explaining why the totem is important. “Anyways, the totem is important because it can greatly sabotage the survivors, or greatly enhance the killers. This might be the totem that allows Lisa to directly kill a survivor, or prevent you from doing generators so well. Either way, just destroy it as soon as you see it. Makes your life a million times easier. As to figure out what it might be? Well, only your fellow survivors may know. We original killers can’t teach aura reading, in fear of absolutely ruining the trials.”

“That, and it’s the Entity’s rule to not do that,” Leatherface added.

Twilight nodded, before then proceeding to kick the totem, it remaining perfectly still despite the kick.

“You gotta meticulously take it apart using your hands,” Philip told Twilight.

Twilight let out a sound of acknowledgement, before squatting down and realizing that the totem was more complex than she initially noticed, with several blood red roots sticking into the ground to keep it in place. Twilight removed one of them, finding that it sprung back into the hole where it was quickly. Realizing this, Twilight kept trying to grab as many of the roots as she can, doing her hardest to prevent them from slipping out of her grasp. Eventually, she got all the roots out, and pulled on the totem, forcing it to fall to pieces. Some kind of magical explosion that she couldn’t see reverberated throughout the place, and a couple of seconds later she heard the sound of a chainsaw being revved up far away.

Leatherface and Philip sighed. “Oh great, it was Billy’s totem.” Leatherface said, before he revved up the chainsaw, waiting for Billy to come over. Sure enough, Billy had came over sprinting to where Twilight was with a chainsaw, only for Leatherface to block him with his chainsaw before he could even get close.

Billy growled in frustration. “What the fuck are you doing here Face? And why are you guarding the survivor who fucked with my totem?!”

“Billy…” Leatherface said in a warning tone. “You know the Entity doesn’t allow stuff like this to happen to new demigods.”

“FUCK THE GUY!” Billy shouted. “BITCH DESTROYED MY NO ONE ESCAPES DEATH! MY NO ONE ESCAPES DEATH, FACE!”

“That’s still not a valid reason to chainsaw the newbie, and you know it,” Leatherface said, arms now crossed. “And why are you even running that? Don’t tell me you got another bunch of Doom Engravings again.” Taking Billy’s silence as an answer, Leatherface sighed. “Even though I keep telling you that you got no iridescent add-ons, you still do this. When will you learn bro?”

“OH COME ON!” Billy yelled in exasperation.“The doc has one, wanna-be Voorhees has one, Amanda has one, hell, even Lisa and Philip have one! I call bullshit on us, and The Nurse being the only ones without them!”

“Billy…” Leatherface sighed. “Just leave. You’re scaring the newbie, and we have to meet the other killers.”

“Actually,” Philip cut in. “We’ve already met the majority of them. I’d rather not try to hunt down Freddy, The Doc, or The Nurse, and Pig doesn’t like to be found during these times. Especially The Nurse, as it’d be a lost cause trying to keep up with her.”

“Awww, come on!” Leatherface pouted. “Freddy and The Doc are nice people, just a bit mean!”

A moment of silence between the three killers.

“Okay,” Leatherface said with his hands up. “maybe they’re a bit meaner than a bit, but my point stands!”

“Never change, Leatherface,” Philip said while patting Leatherface on the back. “Never change.” He then walked back to Twilight. “We’re going to the exit gate now.” He told her, and the three departed from Hillbilly, who gave a searing glare at Twilight as she left under the protection of Philip and Leatherface.

As Twilight approached the exit gate, which for some reason was already opened and revealed a large clearing off in the distance, a loud rumble reverberated throughout the realm, causing Philip and Leatherface to look behind them in fear. “You should get going.” Philip said, still trying to maintain his calm tone. ”It sounds like the Entity is beginning to starve, which means one of us is going for marked targets.”

”Aye,” Leatherface said in agreement. “It is that time around isn’t it?” He looked to Twilight with a caring gaze. “Truly though, I’d ask if you could listen to some stories, but the Entity can quickly become so impatient, demigods may get fed on. It’s best for you to go.”

Twilight nodded, waving them goodbye as she walked out. “We hope you’re strong enough to meet us in a real trial!” Philip said, waving goodbye, as did Leatherface.

As Twilight woke up back in her realm, Leatherface turned to Philip. “You think if I do good this time, the Entity will allows us to have a survivor, killer fiasco?”

“No.”

As I watched the young demigod leave, I felt the usual pang of disappointment for my hunters not killing her. She was ‘meat’, in my eyes as Amanda would put it, ‘meat’ that shouldn’t have escaped so easily.

However, I knew the stakes at hand. If I were to begin devouring other gods, demi or not, they would come for me, and it would be the last meal I would ever have. I couldn’t do that, not without knowing what the fog, the very thing I’m entrapped with, is. I cannot care for prey, as watching my favorites be forced to be devoured would loosen my hold on it. The only ones I can care about are those who work with me, my hunters, my beasts, my followers, and my children. All of them are a part of me, as me a part of them

She would live. Eventually she would leave for good, not wanting to deal with the pain that I am forced to cast upon her. Like all gods have, unwilling to go through the constant torture, or become banned from becoming a killer, maybe even vice-versa due to my punishments.

However, the prey has gotten strong. Too strong for me to pierce their souls. I would have to expand my horizons. Or else, risk the fog.

I opened the multiverse to me, looking for a realm to haunt once more, a different goal in mind as I knew my proxies would deliver me the food.

The game must be changed. A new hunter must be made, a non-native carnivore of blood to feed my power, so that I can live.

I turned into my traveling form, entering the multiverse. It was time for new meat. It was time for a new foe. It was time to hunt.

Author's Note

As it stands, the story is a one-shot. There's really nothing else I could do to add onto the story, other than have it meet other displaced and meet random characters, the latter I don't plan on doing as constantly introducing characters with unique traits, is not only pretty exhausting, but they'd inevitably leave in a single chapter.

So in other words, yes, this is a OC void dweller that's capable of displacement. Like Dead By Daylight, however, you will need to brave his trials in order to live a new life, or gain some sort of reward.
