"Where are we going, papa?" A young boy asked as his father adjusted his armor and fixed his black spiky hair. "More training?" The boy said excitedly as his father gave him a sad look.
"Not today, I'm afraid." The boy's father said as the boy looked down sadly. "The council needs my presence today, I'm sorry, Cabala."
"That's okay," Cabala said sadly as his small furry tail drooped. "Maybe later?"
"I can't promise that, but ask your mother." His father said as he looked up at him smiling, his pink eyes glistening with excitement. "Have I told you how amazing your eyes look?"
"Daaad." Cabala groaned as his father laughed. "At least you and mom think so."
"The others still giving you trouble?" His father asked as Cabala looked away. "Don't let them get to you, you're full-blooded just like them."
"I know, but...." Cabala trailed off as his father knelt down and placed his hand on the boy's shoulder. "It's hard to believe sometimes..."
"I know it's hard." His father said with a reassuring tone. "But you're special just the way you are, don't ever forget that."
"Yes, sir," Cabala said as his father smiled and stood up. "Why does the council need you today? I thought it was your day off!"
"A councilman never rests." His father said with a bored tone. "Honestly, I'd rather be the captain of the guard under King Vegeta again."
"When I'm old enough I want to be a protector just like you!" Cabala said smiling as his father smirked.
"I can tell that you will be." His father said as he began to leave. "I'll return soon, son."
"Bye, Dad," Cabala said as his father walked towards the door and his mother approached.
"I'll be back as soon as I can, Sima." He said as he turned towards the woman. "I love you."
"I love you too, Kanniu," Sima said as they hugged. "Take care."
"I will," Kanniu said as he left the house. "Another boring day." The man grumbled as he flew towards a large castle-like structure. "What could it be this ti..." he trailed off as a circular spacecraft landed in front of the building. "I-Impossible!" Kanniu stuttered as he picked up speed and landed in front of the castle. "Someone, explain what's going on?"
"Councilman Kanniu." A Saiyan guard said, approaching him. "I see you noticed the ship."
"No, I thought it was a rock," Kanniu said sarcastically. "Tell me, captain, what's going on?"
"I can assure you it's not Frieza, but someone else." The captain said worriedly. "His name is Sorbet, he claims he leads the Frieza Empire now."
"Just perfect," Kanniu grumbled as they entered the building, a small blue creature with green and black armor stood there waiting. "You must be Sorbet."
"Indeed I am, Councilman," Sorbet said with a friendly smile as Kanniu glared. "Oh, why the hostility?"
"You know why, you bastard," Kanniu said as Sorbet rolled his eyes. "Leave now, or die."
"Now, now, I just came here to talk," Sorbet said as he made himself comfortable. "Let's settle this like gentlemen."
"Not in your life," Kanniu growled as he faced the guards. "Escort him out of here."
"Not so fast, Councilman," Sorbet said as two figures entered the room, one tall muscular and red, while the other was thin and pinkish. "I will not be taking 'no' for an answer, so you either turn over your planet to the Frieza Empire or… let's just say it won't be pretty."
"I've told you already, leave. Now!" Kanniu said as Sorbet smiled evilly. "RAISE THE ALARM!!!!"
"Tagoma, Shisami, kill them!" Sorbet commanded as the two creatures fired a ki blast at the Saiyans while Sorbet put a finger to his scouter. "Send in the fleet."
"SORBET!!!!" Kanniu yelled as he charged at the dwarf as an energy blast pierced through him.
"I'm disappointed," Sorbet said as ships entered the planet's atmosphere. "You used to be one of Frieza's most loyal members."
"Then I saw the light." Kanniu growled as he coughed up blood. "You will pay for what you have done!"
"We will see about that." Sorbet sneered as the tall red creature, Shisami, approached. "Farewell, captain," Sorbet said as Shisami brought his foot down on his head. "Wipe out the Saiyan!."
"As you wish," Tagoma said as he and Shisami flew off.
--Cabala--
"MOM, WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Cabala shouted as his mother carried him as she ran through the city. "MOM!!!"
"They found us!" Sima said with fear. "Frieza Empire." She said as enemy soldiers jumped from the ships. "We need to find your father."
"FOUND YOU, MONKEYS!" One of Frieza soldiers cackled as he fired at them. "You should've stayed extinct!"
"MADAME SIMA!!!!" A Saiyan guard shouted. "THIS WAY!!!"
"Hang on, son," Sima said as she followed the guard as ship bombed the city. "Where is my husband?" She asked the guard who remained silent as they ran through alleys as Saiyans fought back.
"Where is my dad?" Cabala spoke up as the guard stopped and looked at them sadly.
"I'm sorry, he was... killed." The guard said with remorse as Sima gasped and Cabala began to cry. "He told us, guardsmen, that if he falls, we were to get you and your son off the planet."
"I won't leave while our people are being slaughtered!" Sima said as the ground shook. "Get as many others you can, then you can..."
"With all due respect, I will not fail my mission." The guard said as Tagoma landed behind them. "Get out of here, I'll hold him off."
"But..." Sima began
"NOW!!!" The guard yelled as he charged at Tagoma and Sima ran.
"W-who was that?" Cabala asked with fear as his mother turned a corner and found a row of Space pods.
"I don't know, son," Sima said as she ran for one of the pods and opened it. "But we need to le..” *(BOOM)* she let out a yelp of pain as the explosion sent her forward, dropping Cabala.
"MOM!!!" Cabala called as Shisami approached them. "LEAVE US ALONE!!!!"
"Very brave, for a brat," Shisami said as he glared at the child. "Sadly, I have to kill you."
"STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!" Sima shouted as she stood in front of Cabala. "I won't let you kill him!"
"Very well," Shisami said with an evil smirk as he fired a green beam at Sima, hitting her in the chest as she let out a scream of pain. "You'll die together."
"FLASH STRIKE!!!" Sima yelled as she threw a ball of ki at the titan, blinding him. "C-come on." She winced as she dragged her son to the pod and got in. "Are y-you okay?"
"I'm fine," Cabala said as he noticed the wound. "You're hurt!"
"I'll l-live," Sima said as the pod closed and she put on a weak smile. "Let's get out of here." She said as she typed in coordinates. "Let's hope he's still around."
"Who?" Cabala asked as the pod began to rise. "Where are we going?"
"A planet called Earth," Sima said as the pod picked up speed. "According to your father’s intel, the Saiyan who defeated Frieza currently lives there."
"Will we be safe?" Cabala asked as he snuggled closer to his mother.
"We will be." Sima said as she noticed other pods being quickly shot down. "We will be." She said quietly as a tear rolled down her cheek as they left the planet.
---Sorbet---
"Tagoma, report," Sorbet said as Tagoma approached him.
"The rest of the troops are currently wiping out any remaining Saiyans." Tagoma said as Sorbet smiled. "And any pods that tried to flee were shot down."
"Did any escape?" Sorbet asked as Shisami landed.
"Only one," Shisami said as Sorbet groaned. "A mother and a child."
"Well, I'll let it slide." Sorbet said as the two elites stood at attention. "Considering our victory, anything to report?"
"If I may speak freely." Shisami said as Sorbet nodded. "I noticed something… off about this child."
"How so?" Sorbet asked.
"This child's eyes were pink, unlike most Saiyans whose eyes are black," Shisami said as Sorbet rolled his eyes.
"He was probably just a halfbreed." Sorbet said as Shisami nodded. "Rally our troops, and kill any survivors."
"Yes, Lord Sorbet." Tagoma and Shisami saluted before walking off.
-Earth-
--Sweet Apple Acres--
"Come on, Buttercup." A man with red hair said as he stood at the top of a hill. "It should be starting soon."
"Don't rush me, Bright Mac." Buttercup shot back. "I know you're excited, so am I, but..."
"I don't mean to rush ya." Bright mac said as he helped his wife. "I wish the kids could watch this."
"They're fast asleep," Buttercup said as a streak flew across the sky. "The shower, it's starting!"
"It sure is." Bright Mac said as they sat on the grass and watched the meteors fly across the sky. "Sure is beautiful."
"Indeed." Buttercup said smiling until something caught her eye. "Bright Mac, look at that one!"
"I see it too." Bright Mac said with concern as one of the 'meteors' got bigger. "And it looks like it… GET DOWN!!!" He shouted and the two ducked as the object flew over them. "What was that?" He wondered as the object crashed behind the barn. "Quick, go check on the family."
"What about you?" Buttercup asked as they ran down the hill.
"I'll go check it out." Bright Mac said as Buttercup ran inside. "Grab the gun!"
"Momma, what's going on?" A young girl with blonde hair asked as her mother entered the house.
"It's going to be okay, Applejack," Buttercup reassured as Applejack looked at her with tired eyes as a light came on. "Granny, you know where the gun is?"
"What in tarnation is going on?" Granny asked annoyed. "And why do ya' need the gun?"
"Something crashed behind the barn," Buttercup said as she searched the house and Bright Mac stood by the door. "Here it is." She muttered as she found the gun in a closet. "Be careful."
"I will." Bright mac said kissing her on the cheek. "Everyone, stay inside." He said as he ran towards the crash site.
---Cabala---
"Mom?" Cabala called as his mother groaned. "I think we made it."
"I think so, too," Sima said weakly as she coughed. "Come on, let's go." She said as the pod opened and she stumbled out coughing.
"MOM!!!" Cabala shouted as she lay on the ground holding her wound. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong." She said through raspy breaths as she struggled to get up. "This must be Earth."
"It's pretty," Cabala said as he held his mother's hand. "It's night, too."
"Whatever you do, don't look at the moon," Sima said weakly as they climbed out of the crater. "We need to find a place for the night." She said as she leaned against a tree as blood dripped from her wound. "Did more damage… than… I..." she trailed off as she collapsed.
"MOMMA!!!" Cabala panicked."PLEASE, DON'T DIE!!!."
---Bright Mac---
"Well, I'll be." Bright Mac said breathlessly as he noticed a crater behind the barn. "How was the barn not destroyed?" He wondered as he approached the crater and noticed a pod in the middle. "Is that a… spaceship?"
"MOMMA," A young voice yelled catching his attention. "PLEASE, DON'T DIE!!!"
"HELLO?!" Bright Mac called as he moved towards the sound of the voice. "ANYONE THERE?!" He asked as he moved to the other side. "HELLO?!" He repeated as the sound of sobbing filled his ears.
"Please, don't die..." A young boy wearing strange armor sobbed. "I don't want to be alone..."
"It'll be alright." The woman said as she propped herself against the tree. "You won't be alone."
"You're hurt." Bright Mac said as the two Saiyans looked at him.
"Can you help her?" Cabala spoke up as Bright Mac approached, setting his gun down. "Please."
"I'll see what I can do." The man said as he approached Sima. "That yours?" He asked pointing towards the pod as Sima weakly nodded.
"A-anyone get h-hurt?" She asked Bright Mac who shook his head as he ripped off his sleeve. "Good."
"It looks like it went straight through." Bright Mac said as Sima coughed up blood. "We need to get you to a hospital."
"N-no, you must keep us a secret," Sima said as she winced. "Would you do me a favor?"
"What do you need?" Bright Mac asked as a tear rolled down Cabala's cheek.
"Protect my son." She said weakly. "Keep him hidden among your own."
"I promise." Bright Mac said as Sima leaned back as she put a hand on Cabala's shoulder.
"I love you… son." She whispered as she passed away.
"Bye… Mom," Cabala said as he began to cry.
"Come here." Bright Mac said pulling the boy in for a hug as the boy cried. "Let me get you inside."
"What… (sniff) ...what about..." Cabala tried to talk.
"I'll give her a proper burial." Bright Mac said reassuringly, picking up his gun. "Plus, I need to explain this to my wife."
---Buttercup---
"Relax, he'll be back any minute," Granny said as she poured a cup of tea. "Want some?"
"What?" Buttercup asked coming out of her trance. "Oh, some tea would be nice."
"Here you go," Granny said handing her a cup. "So, a meteor crashed behind the barn?"
"Probably," Buttercup said as she sipped the tea. "I just hope that..." she was interrupted as the door opened. "Bright Mac!"
"Hey, honey." Bright mac said as Buttercup hugged him. "So, we might have a visitor for the night."
"What do you mean?" Buttercup asked as Cabala peaked out from the front door. "Who's this?"
"His name is Cabala." Bright Mac said as Cabala gave an unsure look at Buttercup. "What crashed down behind there barn… was his and his mother's spaceship."
"Spaceship?" Buttercup and Granny asked in unison.
"Y-yep." Bright Mac said as he motioned for Cabala to come closer. "Sadly his mother died when I found them."
"You poor thing," Buttercup said as she crouched down to his level. "We'll let you sleep in one of the guest rooms tonight."
"Thank you," Cabala said quietly as Granny lead him up the stairs.
"That poor boy." Buttercup said sadly. "What are we going to do?"
"I don't know, we can't just put him in an orphanage." Bright Mac said as he closed the door. "I made a promise to his mother that I would protect him before she died."
"Then we will keep that promise." Buttercup said. "I say we make him one of our own."
"Let's ask him in the morning." Bright Mac said with a yawn. "We need some sleep."
