The Infamous Life Of Blitz

Chapter 11

Blitz looked off in the distance ahead of him to see the upcoming town of Ponyville. The colt was excited as ever as he was bouncing in place as he kept his grin nice and wide. "I can't believe you are doing this for me, Ironsides!" he said as he looked back at the iron winger as he was conducting his train. Ironsides just gave Blitz a short smile as he was too busy keeping his train in order. Blitz then moved around the cab of the train. The smell of the smoke coming from the funnel of the engine made Blitz a little dizzy, for he didn't really like being in smoke, but it was the least of his worries. Why matter about something you hate when you are about to do something you wanted to do for a long time. That certificate was getting closer and closer with each chug of the trains wheels. To other ponies, it was the sound of a locomotive moving on the tracks. To Blitz, it was the sound of his dream inching and inching its way to him. The pegasus never been so excited in his life. This will be a moment that he will never forget for as long as he lives. Blitz made his way back to the side of the cab and he stuck his head out of the cab to let the wind blow across his face. The town was now within a mile away.

"Hey Ironsides." asked the white pegasus as he looked off toward Ponyville. The conductor responded. "What is it, Blitz?" He faced the conductor. "Do you know anypony from Ponyville?" The iron pegasus just looked at him as he couldn't quite hear him from the constant chugging from his engine and the whistles signaling the train arriving to the town. "What's that Blitz? I couldn't hear you." he said as he looked in the direction where Blitz was standing. The colt trotted forward a bit and repeated his question to him, this time in a voice to where he could hear him. Ironsides shook his head.

"The whole reason I got you that free room was from a good friend. He was generous enough to get you a room for as long as you want. That is until you get your certificate of course. His name is Applejuice. He and I were good friends in the past. He knows his ways to get free crap in Equestria, and he is pretty darn good at it." he said as continued to conduct his train. Blitz nodded and cracked his neck to get loose. "I see. This is really a great gift from you Ironsides. I can't thank you enough." He looked at the white colt and just smiled. "It is the least I can do for you Blitz. After all, you deserve this." he answered as he went up to pat Blitz on his back. He responded by pulling the brown colt into a hug. Blitz wanted this hug to be special. He didn't know how he could ever repay Ironsides for giving him this opportunity. It brought Blitz to the point to were he was so happy for Ironsides, Blitz planted a kiss on Ironsides cheek. Not one of a lover, but one as a family member. Ironsides recoiled a bit. Blitz figured that the iron winger was unaware of the kiss and kind of took it the wrong way, but all Ironsides did was smile and pulled the white pegasus into a tighter hug.

"I love you, man." Blitz said as he closed his eyes and looked down a bit. He felt Ironsides do the same. "I love you too, man. I will always. You’re like a brother to me, Blitz. I don't care what happens to us. As long as we stay together, there is nothing that could hold us down. I could once honestly say that I am very happy to call you my brother." Blitz smiled and teared up a bit, for it was one of the best things that he had ever heard in his life. Another moment that could be stored in the back of the colt mind. One moment that he would never forget for as long as he lived. Ironsides pulled out of the hug and, for some reason, his face lit up.

"Oh, shoot!" the brown pegasus yelled as he was about to miss the stop. Blitz looked back outside of the cab. The town was now at least within two hundred yards. He knew Ironsides engine, 2398, needed to be at least five hundred yards away to make a decent stop. After all he still was a prototype, and he really wasn't fit enough to handle such a stop. "Hold on, Blitz. We are coming in hot." Ironsides said as he went for the brakes. Blitz quickly turned around. "Wait. What?!" he said confused. The conductor, without hesitation, pulled the brake handle back as hard as he could. The white pegasus fly forward a bit, slamming into the controls. Luckily he hit the bare metal of the control panel and avoided the important gages knobs that were crucial for the train to travel. Blitz staggered from the blow, but he quickly recovered and gained his balance. But something was amiss. Blitz let go of a very important item. "Shit! The envelope!" he shouted as he watched the envelope containing his future float away quickly.

"No!" Blitz shouted as he launched from his spot and flew after his envelope. In a blink of an eye the envelope was within a hooves reach, but as he tried to grab hold of it, it kept on floating away. Every attempt to capture it, the envelope kept on floating in a different direction. It went up, down, side to side, looped loops, twirls, and pretty much almost every aerial trick in the floating away paper book. "Come on!" Blitz yelled to himself as he kept on failing to get his future. But just when Blitz thought he had it, the envelope took a nose-dive. The worse part was if that envelope got close enough to the ground, it would get swooped into the wheels of the train cars and it would get shredded into a thousand pieces.

Blitz's eyes shot open in shock as he could literally feel his heart skip a beat. He lunged after the envelope with a big flap of his wings. Time seemed to go in slow motion from that point on. It seemed that the letter was too far down for Blitz to grab, or he over shot the envelope, or he was just too late on timing. Just when reality seemed to go back to normal, Blitz caught the envelope in his mouth. He did a few summersaults in the air before stabilizing and floating in the air. The white pegasus opened up his eyes and looked down at the letter that was currently in his muzzle. Blitz smiled and did a back flip in the air as he celebrated his amazing catch. When he was done, he looked back at the train. It made a complete stop where the station was and all the ponies were exiting the train cars. The colt flew back to go see if his iron friend was ok.

Ironsides came out of the cab with a sigh of relief. "There you are, Blitz" he said as he watched our white friend land in front of him, "You scared me when you took off like that." Blitz put the envelope down and put his hoof on it, to make sure that it wouldn't blow away. "Yeah, sorry about that. It's just that the envelope kind of flew off when I accidentally let go of it. So, I had to go after it. You know how important this is to me." The brown stallion chuckled. "I bet you were having a heart attack when you tried to grab that thing." Blitz just sarcastically laughed back at Ironsides. "No duh I was having a heart attack. If I lost this I was screwed." he said raising his voice. His friend recoiled. "Whoa. Sorry man. I was just being literal." he said as he went back into his cab.

Blitz picked the envelope back up with his mouth. A few seconds later, Ironsides came back out with Blitz's saddlebag. "Don't want to forget this do you?" he said as he put the black and red bag on his friends back. The colt nodded and put the envelope in his saddlebag. "Thanks, Ironsides. For everything." he said as he pulled his friend in for one more hug. "I will be back, buddy." he said over Blitz's shoulder, "Don't act like I'm never going to see you again." Blitz pulled out of the hug. "I know." he said as he looked at Ironsides. "But I'm going to miss you. You staying in Canterlot is big for you too. You’re going out for the Royal Equestrian Railway. You and I are perusing our dreams my friend, and this is the point where we make our separate ways." Ironsides put his hoof over his shoulder and shook his friend. "I know, Blitz. We are grown stallions now, and we have to travel down the path of life. Just remember, I'm always here for you." Blitz smiled at the iron winger and pulled him in an embrace; for this was thee very last hug before they wouldn't see each other again for a while. Ironsides pulled away form the hug and flew to his cab.

"All aboard!" he yelled, "Next stop, Canterlot!" he then proceeded back to the controls. Ironsides looked at the white pegasus and nodded his head. "You’re going to go far, Blitz! Just be yourself, and you'll be the greatest pegasus in all of Equestria! I guarantee it!" he yelled out to him over the chugging and steam being produced from the pistons and gears from the wheels. The colt waved to his brother and watched as the train kept on rolling down the tracks until the whole train was gone and all that was heard was the chugging and whistling. "See you soon, buddy." Blitz said as the train finally disappeared.

He turned around and looked up. A big white sign with pink font color read, 'Welcome To Ponyville'. The colt sighed and looked straight ahead. The ponies in this town seemed to be way different from the ponies back in Las Pegasus. They were calmer. No business ponies were in sight. No lawyers, clients, CEOs, not even a single pony was dressed in a business uniform. He was so use to seeing everypony in such a rush to go places, on the phone, or just plain talking to some big company manager. They were all just being normal. Everypony was just either walking by themselves, with a friend, or in a group. The weird part to Blitz was that they all sounded happy. Very happy by that matter. He never heard so many ponies laughing and giggling all at once. Blitz trotted forward and tried to think about how he could make new friends in this town. After all, he was going to be staying here for a while, and he sure as hell wasn't going to be a loner in a town like this.

He finally made his way to the streets of Ponyville. What was pretty surprising for Blitz was how big the "small town" was. Ironsides always told him that it has never been big enough to actually be called a city, but what Blitz comprehension was a whole lot different. Each street had at least twenty houses, some bigger than others. He also saw the huge building that seemed to mark the middle of the town. And the ponies. They littered the streets. Everywhere there were ponies. All the different kinds of them too. Earth, unicorn, and pegasus alike were all crowding the town. Blitz was amazed. For a small town, it lived up to city standards. Well, to Blitz at least. He went into his saddlebag and got out his envelope. He opened it and checked the ticket for the free room. '787 S. Mane Lane' read the address. He put the ticket back into the envelope and put it back within his saddlebag. He then proceeded to go to his new apartment, all for himself.

"Hmmmm," Blitz thought to himself, "Since it could be considered to be my apartment, I could do whatever I want in it." A smile spread across his face as an idea popped into his head. He always seemed to get random ideas in his head and sometimes he really couldn't get them out. This idea, however, was easy and he could do it in no time. Ideas were what Blitz was always good at getting. If its one gift he has in his personality, it has got to be his idea making. He looked up at the sky. It was rather quite clear than he expected. Perhaps more clear than Las Pegasus. Then again there is a weather center just located not even ten miles away from where he was standing. He searched in the sky to see if he could see any of the weather ponies were on duty. They were hard to see considering they were probably all flying around trying to get what ever clouds they could get.

Suddenly, Blitz seen something on a cloud. He stopped trotting to see if he could really see if there really was something there. The white pegasus could fly up there, but he wanted his bag to stay close by him. He was after all in a town that he has no idea about. Somepony could just come by and just swipe his saddlebag up and just gallop away with it. Blitz just stayed on the ground and looked at the cloud. It was hard to tell, considering that the cloud looked to be high up in the sky. He looked harder and could see it only a little better. There defiantly was something on that cloud. A pony by the looks of it. He looked as hard as he could. He finally seen a rainbow tail, cyan main, and a...

All too soon Blitz heard something. It sounded like somepony stopping right behind him. He turned around and was greeted literally face to face with another pony. Blitz recoiled as he was startled by the sudden appearance of another pony. Blitz got back far enough to give the mare and himself some room. He just stared at the mare and she did too. She had pink eyes, and a pink cotton-candy like mane. The expression on her face looked like in a state of confusion. "Umm... Can I help you with something?" Blitz asked her. The pink mare took a step closer to him. "I don't recall seeing you here." she said in a high pitched voice,

"Are you new here?" Blitz was hesitant at first. This mare looked to be a little scary.

"Umm," Blitz said as he looked around the streets and then back to the pink pony. "Yes?" he answered in confusion. The pink pony jumped off her hooves and literally stayed in the air for a good three seconds gasping in shock. She landed back on the ground and zipped over to Blitz's side in a hurry.

"Oh no! You’re a new pony here in Ponyville?! If your new here you must not know anypony! And if you don’t know anypony then that means your lonely! And if your lonely then that means you're going to be sad! And if a new pony in Ponyville doesn't know anypony and is lonely and sad, then that makes me very upset!" she screamed. She then zoomed in front of Blitz and started shaking his hoof very rapidly. "Well I'm going to change that all around, because everypony deserves to smile. Well enough about that. Hi. I'm Pinkie Pie and I live in Sugarcube Corner here in town. Its just located right over there. I'm glad to of finally gotten your aquantince. Now whats your name?"

She stopped shaking his hoof and she jumped up in the air and landed on the ground with a thud and looked as though she was about to listen to a old ponies tale. Blitz just stood in shock and silence. He was still trying to back track of what just happened. The mare went so fast back and forth, and she was so fast in her short little speech. 'Well,' he thought to himself, 'that escalated quickly.' Blitz cleared his throat and spoke in a reassuring tone. "My name is Blitz. I didn't quite catch..."

"Hi, Blitz! It's so nice to know your name now. I believe you are the only pony in town whose name is Blitz, and I know everypony in Ponyville. And by everypony, I mean EVERYPONY! I even know some other ponies that are currently located outside of Ponyville too. I think I probably know another pony named Blitz. Let’s see. Oh Yeah! Wait no that was Banana Splits. Oh I believe... No that was Schmitz. Oh! Oh! Oh! Blitz! Yes! Oh. Right. Blitzkrieg. Well that’s all the names that can come to mind. Anyway enough about that what were you trying to say?" She jumped again and landed the same way and was in the same position as last time.

Blitz yet again was trying to catch up on what she was trying to say. He shook his head. "What? Oh, sorry. I was trying to say what your name was again?" he asked as he flapped his wings. She jumped back up and she was face to face with Blitz. Literally.

"Pinkie Pie. I said that already. What are you death or something?" she said as she was just staring straight into Blitz's eyes. Blitz was silent for a few seconds before answering with a short and quick, "No." Pinkie Pie smiled and jumped backwards and began to hop in place. Blitz shook his head again for now it seemed like he was in a trance for a couple of seconds. "So." he said as he cleared his throat again,

"Pinkie Pie. I'm glad I finally got to meet you. I would love to chat more but I have to go to my apartment." Pinkie Pie just still hopped in place as she looked to of ignored Blitz. "Well, I think I'll go now." the white pegasus said as he turned around and started trotting again. "Where's this apartment of yours?" the pink ball of energy said as she hopped beside his following him at his side. Blitz scooted over a bit for now he was getting a little uncomfortable. "Its on 787S.Mane Lane." he said as he looked at each of the buildings of Ponyville. "Well if its a guide you need, then I'll be your guide indeed!" she said with a happy tone. Blitz nodded at her and started following her. Then, yet again, he spoke again.

"You see I've been here for Celestia knows how long. I can show you every corner, bump, street, and even dirt road of this town. You see when I was a little filly, I grew up on a rock farm with my family. It was challenging times and everypony was sad all the time on that single farm. It was day in and day out that I..." Blitz heard nothing but the voice of Pinkie Pie as she seemed to explain to her entire life story to him. After nonstop talking from Pinkie Pie and at least a few hours of walking around the town, Pinkie and Blitz finally made it to the apartment.

"...And then I told her 'Well you should get the hay and baked grass sandwich.' and she said 'I'd rather go with the oatmeal' and I was like 'Oatmeal are you craz,"

"THANK YOU, PINKIE PIE!" Blitz shouted as he just looked straight ahead of him with his eyes closed, "NOW IF YOU CAN PLEASE EXCUSE ME, I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF SERIOUS MATTERS! SO CAN YOU BE SOOO KIND AS TO GO HOME NOW, OR GO TALK TO SOMEPONY OTHER THAN ME, PLEASE!"

Blitz opened his eyes halfway and continues to stare forward with a look of annoyance on his face. There was silence for a while. At first, Blitz thought he made the pink pony upset at first. Just as soon as he was about to say sorry, she spoke as she hopped in place.

"Okey Dokie Lokey. We will be seeing each other around." Pinkie then turned around and hopped away. Blitz watched as the pink pony hopped out of his sight. "Thank you." Blitz said as he looked up at the now dusk sky. Although Pinkie Pie was very annoying with her never ending story, still it was good to know that Blitz had at least on friend now in Ponyville.

"Oatmeal?" he said to himself as he trotted in the apartment building, "What in all of Equestria has that mare been talking about? ... Oatmeal. Jez." he said shaking his head.
