Prolouge: Of Duties, Dreams & Delusions
The night sky shown brightly as the young girl stood and gazed upon its majesty from the air ship. It had been her first time she had been on one of Queen Celestia's Royal Airships in quite some time and the first time she had been sent on one with such an important mission, but thankfully she was not alone.
"Enjoying the stars again are we Princess Twilight?" A voice playfully asked from behind. Twilight turning back to see her dear friend and fellow pupil of Celestia; Sunset Shimmer smiling at her.
"I wish you wouldn't tease me like that, you know i'm not a princess yet, neither of us are." Twilight scolded Sunset.
"No, but we've all heard the rumors around the castle, so don't act like you aren't one more gold star away from getting your wings" Sunset teased. "Meanwhile i'm ever at a standstill" she sighed as she joined Twilight out on the Zepplin's balcony.
"Come now Sunset, you work just as hard as I do and i'm sure your mo....er I mean our teacher the queen has taken note of that. Equestria has always been a land of balance, two rulers, I am sure in time we shall both Ascend and attain our full magic." Twilight smiled in an attempt to reassure her friend.
"He, perhaps, but none of that is important right now, so bookworm, what can you tell us about this Fantasia we shall be visiting on behalf of our dear Queen!?" Sunset asked looking up at her nerdy companion.
Twilight just huffed and rearranged her glasses. "Well, 5 years ago the islands previous ruler King Crescendo mysteriously passed away leaving his eldest daughter who was only thirteen at the time in charge, she turns 18 in three days and is having a big celebration for her coming of age where she will legally become the ruler of the island in full." Twilight explained.
"Huh, only three days? Think this hunk o junk will make it there in time?" Sunset asked.
Twilight just looked at her companion and gave out a low groan. "You know Celestia & Luna wouldn't give us a ship that's unreliable"
"Yea, whatever." Sunset yawned as she set down on a nearbye deck chair. Twilight just looking at her with a sour face.
"So what do yea think the nerds are chatting about?" A turqoise skinned girl in silver armor asked her partner as she stretched out her green wings.
"No idea. Can't say I care either, i'm just here to keep an eye on em." The partner replied rather monotone.
"Geez Dash, you're no fun anymore!" The amber haired guards pegasus whined.
"Sorry Lightning, but I don't wanna get on Spitfire's bad side again so i'm playing this one straight." The Cyan skinned girl stated as she folded in her wings.
"Pfftt.....whatever" Lightning Dust pouted. "I joined the EUP guard to get to the top of the Pegasus division and become a Wonderbolt, not babysit some princesses in training!" The girl continued to whine.
"Yea, well same here." Rainbow Dash reminded her. "But we can't do that if we get kicked out, so for now we do our jobs and protect these two, no matter what." Rainbow sternly stated looking at Lightning Dust. The girl just groaning in compliance.
Meanwhile on the island of Fantasia.
"Is everything ready for my party dear sisters?" A seductive voice asked in a rather inquisative tone.
"Yes Grand Duchess Adagio. All the invitations were sent out and the delegates from our former allied nations should arrive in three days"
"Excellent Work Sonata. Your Duchess is pleased." Adagio cooed.
"Hehe, Thanks Dagi" Sonata chuckled, getting a low angry growl from Adagio in return. "Ah-I mean t-thank you my duchess!" Sonata quickly corrected
"He, better" Adagio chuckled.
"And what about you Aria? Did you finish your tasks?" Adagio asked quite sternly looking down an the stubborn pig-tailed girl.
"Yea, the maids got all the cheesy decorations and the bakers are making a bunch of red velvet cakes or whatever." Aria answered with a resentful tone.
"And what about the special chocolate sorbee imported from Griffonstone and the special plants from Abnysia?" Adagio growled.
"Yea, sorry sis, couldn't get em." Aria playfully sighed.
Adagio looked at Aria with daggers in her eyes. "Unacceptable!" She screeched. "This party has to be perfect or else!!"
"Or else what!?" Aria mockingly asked.
"Or else I may have to discipline you again Aria, and I really don't think you want that so close to the big day." Adagio threatened picking up the long, thick black whip she always kept by her side, setting it in her lap as she set on her throne looking down at the two girls.
"Tsskk, fine, i'll get the rest of your fancy pants desserts, just chill out...sheesh." Aria nervously huffed.
"Hehe, good." Adagio smiled. "After all it is going to be a very important day and I need everything to be absolutly perfect for the ceremony. So everyone in Fantasia and beyond will know that I Adagio am the greatest ruler this pathetic world has ever known!!" The young woman began to laugh with maniacal glee. Meanwhile Aria & Sonata just starred at each other, too afraid to move or say anything lest they spoil The Duchess's good mood and incur her wrath.

Chapter 1: Arrival, Audacity & Adagio
The Zeppelin slowly made it's way to the landing dock on the northern western edge of the island doing its best to fit in place. Being slightly larger then other such vehicles however made things a bit rough, but by the end of it the captain of the ship was able to get it to fit in place, but just barely causing rather angry looks from the nearby ships of the dignitaries from Griffonstone & Mt. Aris.
As the Zeppelin completed its docking the lower hatch opened and Sunset and Twilight slowly descended down to the terminal below. "Well this does look like quite the gathering for such a small nation" Sunset noted looking around at the other guests noting many high profile leaders and bureaucrats. Celeano the queen of the sky pirates was chatting with Queen Novo of the Seaquestrian Island Chain. Meanwhile Lord Gestal of Griffonstone was arguing about something with Baron Cranky who represented the lesser Earth tribes as Zecora the Zaffrican Delegate just rolled her eyes at the whole show. The most interesting spectacle however was the former Dark Queen Chrysalis grumbling in the corner while the young Utrica the current King Thorax's chosen diplomat did her best to cheer her up. between all this and the remaining dignitaries that were sure to come this did indeed seem like it was going to be quite the party.
"It looks as if this mysterious Duchess Adagio invited representatives from near every nation to attend her swearing in." Twilight noted as she too looked around.
"Heh, sounds like this chick has a bigger ego then Dash" Lightning dust joked, her fellow guard just looking at her and giving of a rather dissatisfied grunt.
"Now now you two, play nice" Sunset teased looking back at the two girls that had been put in charge of protecting them. "We are visitors in this land after all, we must be on our best behavior."
"Yes mam" The two guards sighed as they gave Sunset a brief salute.
"I Said Make Sure EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!" Adagio screeched at her servents as she angrily stomped through the manor. "Use the imported satin sheets for all the guests bed. Make sure all the burgundy window shades are perfectly semmetrical! Everything dusted, waxed and cleaned until it shines!" Adagio shouted as the maids and butlers picked up their pace.
"Man she's on a tear today" Aria noted.
"Well, you know, Dagi, er Duchess Adagio just wants everything to look good for our guests." Sonata stated in an attempt justify her leader's mood.
"Pfft, stop making excuses, you know as well as I do she's a spoiled bitch!" Aria growled under her breath
"You should not say such cruel things about our elder sister." Sonata scolded.
"Half-sister, if even that." Aria growled. "We may or may not all share the same father, but its not like our mother's were one and the same." Aria reminded the naive airhead. "And she's only our elder by three hours" Aria huffed.
"Well that may be true, but the fact we were all born on the same night and very well may all be children of the late king, albeit illegitamite is good enough for me. I like having a family." Sonata softly smiled, Aria just groaning and rolling her eyes.
All of a sudden a loud shattering noise came from nearbye as the three looked and saw a pair of maids frozen in fear staring at the broken vase in fear.
"Shit, those two are screwed" Aria whispered to Sonata. The girl like the maids also frozen in place as she watched Adagio Approach them.
"What. Did. You. Do!?" Adagio growled as she slowly stomped towards the young servants.
"Please, please mistress, forgive us!" The maids begged as they bowed.
"You destroyed my vase!" Adagio angrily growled at the two. "And now you,ll pay!" She growled as she unclipped her whip from her side.
"P-please no High Duchess, anything but that!" the maid begged.
"If you didn't want to be punished you shouldn't have been so insolent. Now turn around! Adagio commanded. The maids reluctantly obeying as they turned and pressed their hands against the wall.
"Now tell me, who are the failures of maids I am punishing today!?" Adagio asked in delight as she cracked her whip on the ground.
"I-I am Juniper" The taller lime-green skinned maid replied. "A-and the shorter one next to me is Wallflower" Juniper explained. Wallflower meanwhile just shaking and silently sobbing fearing what was to come.
"Now, 10 lashes each and then you can go clean-up after, got it." Adagio explained. "Are you ready?" She mischeviously cooed.
"Y-yes mistress" The two nervously replied. "Good" Adagio rejoiced as she rared back her whip and began to strike.
"EYYYEEAAHHH!!" Juniper screeched as the whip hit the back of her dress ripping the back of her uniform as it did. Wallflower quickly following in on the wails as she too received the whip.
"Yes, such a beautiul symphony" Adagio maniaclly chuckled in delight.
Meanwhile Sonata noticed Aria was now hiding behind her, the short girl's expression one of utter terror as she watched Adagio punish the two. Sonata's heart ached for the maids knowing this was most likely the two's first time on the reciving end of her Sister's lashings. Meanwhile Aria knew the pain of the whip all too well as over the years as Adagio had often felt the urge to correct the pig-tailed teen's attitude in private sessions down in the dungeon. Sonata hated to see harm come to others but hated her self even more for not having the courage to stop it.
As the two maids let out their respective 10th and final screams Adagio excused them to the servants quarters and told them to clean-up. Then she quickly turned her attention to two nearbye male servents commanding they clean-up the shattered mess and find a suitable replacement. The young men complying and quickly ruahing to their task as Adagio walked back to her main path and turned her attention back to Aria and Sonata. "Well come along dear sisters, we have to finish preperations before our guests arrive" Adagio smiled as she clipped her whip back to her side.
"Y-Yes High Duchess!" The two replied as they followed Adagio to the master ballroom.
The two Unicorn class mages set in the horse drawn carriage and took in the countryside as their Chauffeur hummed a happy tune "So, why the heck is the mansion for this Adagio chick all the way out in the boonies if the capital city is in the middle of the island?" Lightning Dust asked looking out the window as well. Rainbow Dash just giving her partner a disapproving look that she would so non-chelauntly use such crass language in-front of the Queen's proteges.
Twilight just chuckled. "Well from what i've been told this mansion is built on the Dazzle clan's ancestral home." Twilight explained. "When settlers first came to the island over a thousand years ago the town of Leitmotif was the first settlement. Thus Adagio's ancestors originally ruled the island from there before the capital city of Serenadeia was built some five hundred years later. Adagio's father the late king crescendo was the man who decided to move the royal family back to their first colony and left the bureaucrats to run the city in the capital." Twilight finished with a smile.
"Wow, someone's been studying up on foreign history." Sunset teased giving Twilight a slight jab.
"But of course, as future rulers of Equestria it is only fitting we know as much about potential allies and/or enemies as possible." Twilight confidently stated pushing up her glasses giving sunset a soft yet cocky smile.
"He, yea-yea, whatever" Sunset sighed "But stuff like that is probably why you're the favorite" Sunset complained under her breath.
"Yea, nice history lesson there Ms. Sparkle" Rainbow Dash added "But personally i'm more worried about the here and now. We don't know a thing about this High Duchess Adagio Dazzle, how do we know she won't try anything funny?" Rainbow sternly asked, her voice one of concern.
"Well my dear Dashie" Twilight smiled "That's why we have you and Lightning Dust here to protect us. I mean surely two Pegasus class guards-women are capable of protecting us from a stuffy foreign duchess right!?" Twilight playfully teased. Rainbow just moaning and rolling her eyes once more. "Of course, but that still doesn't change the fact we know next to nothing about the woman in question herself."
"Perhaps not, but we will soon enough" Sunset chimed in as she pointed out the window, the two looking and seeing a rather large clearing with an equally large mansion at the bottom of the hill where they were headed.
"Yea, now that's what I call a house!" Lightning cheered looking at the rather large four story mansion that seemed to stretch out on both sides for miles. Sunset and Twilight just looking at each other and chuckling. Happy to finally be nearing their destination.
Meanwhile in another carriage a very perturbed Chrysalis just continued to stare out the window and growl before turning her attention back to her....handler.
"So tell me Ms. Utricia, what was the point of our beloved king Thorax sending me of all people out as a dignitary to some tiny insignificant island nation?" The fallen Queen angrily growled.
"W-well you see Q-er Ms. Chrysalis, King Thorax believes that all Changelings should be given a second chance and, i-if you can successfully make a trade agreement with Fantasia he will give you your freedom...sort of" The blue skinned bug eyed girl gulped as her clear wings fluttered nervously.
"Sort of? What do you mean by that!?" Chrysalis scowled.
"W-well you see, that is to say" Utricia stuttered. "Thorax said if you did this well he would grant you your freedom, you would no longer be imprisoned in the castle and would be given full rights like any citizen of the hive, however....." Utricia paused.
"However what!?" Chrysalis growled once more her anger still growing.
"However he will never return even the slightest fraction of your magic back to you as he knows you cannot be trusted with it!" Utricia finished.
"WHAT!!" Chrysalis seethed. "He expects me to do his dirty work like some commoner but refuses to offer me even the tiniest bit of magic in return!"
"Yes, b-but you would have your freedom and y-you could stay on as a royal delegate if-if you felt so inclined!" Utricia stuttered .
"I'll wring your neck you little brat!" Chrysalis screeched as her green eyes glowed with anger and she launched her sharp black nails towards her young compatriot.
"Now now, we won't be havin none o that" The Chauffeur's voice bellowed from above the carriage. "The High Duchess Adagio doesn't take kindly to others killing their servants on her land, if anyone gives out punishments it be her, so best behave yerselves." the voice chortled.
Chrysalis just growled and groaned once more as she stared daggers at Utricia. "Fine, i'll behave myself....for now" The fallen Queen agreed as the carriage continued on it's path towards the manor.
Back at the manor Adagio hummed a happy tune as she looked around the Ballroom in delight seeing that everything had been set-up perfectly as she asked, every display of food and fancy as perfect as one could make it and the gold walls shining brightly against the perfectly pearl white tile floors. "Ahh, yes-this will do nicely!" She sang as she pretended to dance around.
"Well, at least now she's happy" Sonata nervously noted. Aria just rolling her eyes. Suddenly one of the male servants walked in and addressed Adagio as he bowed. "My Duchess, the guests will be arriving soon, would you like me to prepare the balcony so you may give your speech?" The young man asked.
Adagio just looked at the handsome young servant and smiled. "Why yes Malto, I do believe I would find that quite pleasing, make it so!" Adagio commanded as she gave him her approval and motioned for him to be off.
"Welp, guess the play's about to start" Aria chuckled under her breath. "Wonder how well she'll do in-front of a crowd she can't control through fear?" Aria chuckled quietly over to Sonata.
"What was that Aria dear? I didn't quite catch that" Adagio sang as Aria found Adagio right next to her.
"O-Oh nothing my Duchess, I-I am just excited for the coming festivities is all!" Aria nervously lied as Adagio starred her down.
"Hehe-as am I" Adagio smiled. "Come now dear sisters, lets get going shall we, would be uncouth of us to keep our guests waiting!" Adagio smiled as she headed towards the inner balcony, Aria and Sonata following closely behind.
Sunset and Twilight looked around in all at the scene around them. They had just entered the mansion and found a large open room with beautiful black marble walls and an ornate painting of the islands history on the ceiling that almost put the glass windows in Equestria's royal palace to shame. The floor a perfectly white pearl tile and all around various decorations such as old instruments and vases, suites of armor and the Dazzle family crest under an inner balcony as a centerpiece.
"wow, this place is...." Sunset began
"Quite impressive" Twilight finished with a gulp.
"Yea, looks like you could fit the entire village of Cloudsdale in this place!" Lightning Dust chuckled
"Perhaps even half of Canterlot" Rainbow smirked deciding to finally join in on the fun.
Slowly but surely the rest of the visiting dignitaries began to walk in, Chrysalis and Utrica, Lord Gestal and his entourage, Cranky and his wife Matilda, Zecora and of course Queen Novo and her daughter Princess Skystar among others. As the various leaders and delegates gathered in the room the lights began to dim and a spotlight was shown upon the upper balcony. Three young women in place up top, Sunset and Twilight having no doubt the tall and rather poofy haired girl in the middle was Adagio.
"Welcome guests, one and all" Adagio began. "I am honored that so many of you have come all across this wonderful and wide world of ours to celebrate with me here on our humble island nation of Fantasia" The Duchess smiled. "It has been a little over five years since the unfortunate passing of my father the great king Crescendo, and in that time despite my youth and inexperience I have tried my best to keep Fantasia strong for my families name and the sake of its people" Adagio boasted. "In these past five years I with the help of the bureaucrats at the capital have helped bring increased stability and wealth to this land. And as of tonight at midnight I shall turn eighteen giving me full legal right and authority to my father's throne, thus finally finalizing my spot as the ruler of Fantasia." Adagio cheered. "In celebration of this I have invited you all together to witness the swearing in ceremony tomorrow evening as well as partake in the royal ball afterwards" Adagio smiled. "However it will not be all fun and games as my dear sisters and I shall be working through our treaties with your lands and re-evaluating if necessary, and of course creating new ones with those we have been unable to in the past" Adagio mischievously smiled, the crowd mumbling as they had grown weary by this statement.
"But worry not dear guests, the politics can wait until after the celebration, for now let my servants show you all to your rooms, and please, have pleasant slumbers." Adagio finished with a smile.
As the speech ended various maids and butlers approached the guests to offer to take them and their luggage to their assigned bedrooms. Sunset and Twilight were no exception as a tall, skinny young man approached them.
"Hello, My name is Malto and I shall be your guide this evening" The young man politely stated.
"Ah, so you are here to show us to our rooms?" Sunset asked.
"indeed, though first the High Mistress has requested your company in her office" Malto smiled.
"Really? But didn't she just say business would wait till after the party tomorrow?" Twilight asked a bit confused.
"Indeed, for most visiting that is true" Malto answered as he cleared his throat "However Duchess Adagio has....special interest in Equestria and wished to speak with out over a potential trade agreement as soon as possible" Malto smiled as he motioned for them to follow so he could lead the group to Adagios study.
Sunset and Twilight set patiently in what was a surprisingly small study for such a large manor, and honestly the whole thing felt a tad cramped, ecspecially with Lightning Dust & Rainbow behind them. Thankfully the wait was not to long however as soon the door swung open as Duchess Adagio walked in with her two sisters trailing close behind. The soon to be ruler smiled as she took a seat in the large and well padded chair behind her desk.
"Welcome delegates of Equestria, I am honored you agreed to meet on such short notice." Adagio cooed smiling somewhat devilishly at the two.
"Um' yes-well" Sunset stuttered as she cleared her throat. "I figured it was most likely a matter of grave importance" Sunset finished as she nervously smiled back.
"Oh yes, quite" Adagio agreed as she opened up a rather thick, old and dusty book. "According to the records from the royal treasury Equestria has not engadged in trade with Fantasia for a good three-hundred and fifty years!? Now why is that?" Adagio asked in a rather mischevious yet inquisitive tone.
"Uh, well-I" Sunset stuttered unsure of how to answer.
"Song of The Sea" Twilight intereupted. Sunset looking at her friend with a rather confused look. Adagio just giving a devious smile.
"That is what Equestria traded for back then." Twilight continued as she pushed up her glasses. "Also known as the Aquatic Rainbow it is a extremly rare gemstone with the ability to greatly increase the power of healing magics and potency of potions. " Twilight explained.
"Exactly, and our humble little island that has it growing in abundance beneath the sea, we're the only stable source, so why cut yourself off?" Adagio asked.
"The simple truth is the stone was also abused and misused for dark purposes by certain sects of Dark Mages, such as the Centaur King Tirek and the Shadow King Sombra. Celestia's late Mother Aurora had no choice but to ban them back then to make it harder for such fiends to acquire them." Twilight bluntly stated.
"I suppose that makes sense" Adagio sighed. "But has Sombra not been long dead and Tirek forever bound and imprisoned in Tartarus?" Adagio asked with a devious smile.
"Well, yes but....Twilight began
"And even the former Witch Queen Chrysalis of The Changlings is no longer a threat." Adagio added as she cut Twilight off. "So I don't see why we can't resume trade of the item, even if just on a trial bases to help foster a bond between our Kingdoms" Adagio finished with a sly grin.
Twilight just set there saying nothing.
"I agree Duchess" Sunset chimed in. "However before we begin negotiations perhaps you would be so kind as to introduce us to the young women standing at your side, I do believe earlier you mentioned they were your sisters?" Sunset inquired gesturing at the silent and unusually still girls behind Adagio.
"Yes, well, about that....." Adagio moaned.
"Oh, um-may I tell the story Dagi!?" Sonata nervously asked staring down at her sister.
"Be my guest" Adagio obliged. "It's a pain to try to explain anyway" she chuckled.
"OK" Sonata smiled as she took a deep breath and began.
"Roughly eighteen years ago on the stroke of midnight, the great King Crescendo's wife gave birth to our beloved Adagio Dazzle. Sadly however the strain of childbirth was too much for Lady Adadante and she passed on to the next world shortly after." Sonata explained as the two future rulers of Equestria looked up at her with sorrow in their eyes.
"Thankfully however" Sonata continued "The fates would do their best to ease the kings pain." Sonata smiled. "For better or worse the king, like many rulers had his...appitites for the pleasures of the flesh and two other women in the manor were also with child, and they gave birth to Aria and I mere hours later, thus giving the king three offspring to help mend the hole in his heart." Sonata finished with a smile.
"And, what of your mothers?" Sunset asked looking at the two girls.
"Well the woman rumored to be Sonata's mother a maid by the name of Symphony Dawn quit our employ shortly after her birth." Adagio replied.
"As for Aria well..." Adagio chortled with a smirk giving the short petite girl a mischevious grin. "The truth is her mother was a woman of the night, a common brothel whore my father had taken pity on and given refuge. Truthfully we can't say if our dear mutt is actually of royal blood or not, but my father was a kind man and raised her as his own with the rest of us none the less" Adagio smirked. Behind her the rage evident in Aria as she squeezed her fists tightly and did her best to restrain herself.
Sunset and Twilight just set there unsure of how to respond.
"M-my wh-what an interesting story" Sunset anxiously chuckled.
"Agreed" Twilight bluntly stated.
"I suppose" Adagio sang with a sigh as she looked at the clock. "My it is getting late, pethaps one of you would like to have Malto show you to your rooms, unpack your luggage whilst whomever stays can finish the rough draft of our pending trade agreement." Adagio yawned.
"Yes, that sounds reasonable" Twilight agreed. "Sunset, why don't you and Lightning Dust let Malto show you our quarters, no need for both of us to get exhausted with paperwork." Twilight softly smiled over at Sunset.
"Oh, ah...yea-sure" Sunset agreed "I mean you're better at that kind of stuff anyway" Sunset chuckled as she set up. "Now come my brave knight, you may need to protect me from this creepy and handsome young butler!" Sunset teased Lightning Dust as she followed Malto out of the study. "Sheesh, royals" Lightning laughed as she followed closely behind.
Adagio lifted her right hand and snapped it, bringing the two behind her to attention. "Aria, Sonata, why don't you head off to bed as well. I am sure Ms. Sparkle and I are more then capable of finishing this on our own." Adagio sternly stated.
"Yes misstress" The two girls replied with a bow before exiting the room, Aria still clenching her fist tight to contain her anger. Thus leaving Adagio alone with Twilight to discuss the potential trade agreement, with her guard Rainbow Dash supervising of course.
"Your room miss" Malto politely exclaimed as he unloclked the guest bedroom with a key and slowly opened the door. The room was ornate and well furnished. Both the bed and window sheets being a lovely burgundy, the walls an elegant dark oak wood and a desk with three large mirrors to set at and primp ones self up. A golden door on the left side of the room leading to what Sunset could only imagine was an equally impressive bathing area and lavatory.
"Um, thank you Malto-that will be all" Sunset smiled as Malto laid down the party's luggage and promptly left the room.
"He, he's kind of cute....for a guy" Lightning chuckled looking over at Sunset, noticing the would be princess was scowling and tightly grabbing her bright golden dress. "Damn that Twilight, trying to one up me again, and infront of this nation's ruler no-less!" Sunset continued to growl as she squeezed her dress ever tighter.
"DAMN THAT BITCH!!" Aria screeched as she stompped down the hall. "Who does she think she is emberassing me in front of visiting royalty! Future leaders of Equestria no less!!" Aria fummed.
"C-calm down Aria, you might wake our guests!" Sonata begged.
"It's only nine at night, if these stuffy types go to bed this early that's their own damn fault!" Aria growled. Sonata just slowly cowaring back and gulping, knowing their was no stopping Aria when she was this mad. Soon the girl began to chuckle as am idea formed in her head. "I know just exactly what to do to get back at her." Aria deviously smiled as she began to run towards the main ballroom.
"Aria no, think about what you're doing!" Sonata shouted as she ran after her sister, knowing if Aria did anything to defy Adagio it would mean a trip to the dungeon for sure!
One hour later
"Well Ms. Sparkle it would appear we have our first draft" Adagio smiled.
"Indeed" Twilight yawned. "And now if you don't mind I believe I shall retire." The exhausted purple skinned maiden exclaimed.
"But of course, i'll have Malto show you to your room so you may reunite with your friends, pleasent dreams, Princess Sparkle." Adagio teased waving Twilight and her guard goodbye as they exited, turning her attention back to thr clock, noticing it was a bit after ten. "He, guess I should go hit the hay as well." Adagio chuckled as she to left the room, turning out the light as she did.
As Adagio walked through the manor she smiled taking in its majesty, for once everything was going to be perfect. Or so she thought until she got to the main entrance and noticed the ballroom door was cracked open.
Adagio let out a low growl as she began to stomp towards the imperfection and opened the door. Inside the ballroom she saw Sonata cowaring beneath one of the tables as Aria violated one of the Red Velvet cakes on display.
"ARIA!!" Adagio shrieked as she watched the girl slowly destroy the dessert, noticing it wasn't the first one she had ruined, but the third.
"What the hell are you doing!?" Adagio growled quickly stomping toward the cake wrecker.
"Hehe, you and your obsession with even numbers and symetrry, well guess what, now instead of twelve perfect cakes yea only have nine yea damn bitch. That's what yea get fer callin mah mother a whore!" Aria laughed as she took a bite of the cake with one hand and continued to smash it with another.
"OK Aria" Adagio wickedly smiled. "Time for another lesson" She stated as she cracked her whip against the floor. "You. Me. Dungeon. Now!" Adagio yelled with an echo that shook the entire room. Aria just smiling in defiance ad Sonata continued to hide. She had ruined Adagio's perfect party before it even began, and to her that was worth any punishment her Duchess could attempt to give her.

Down and down some more, further and further below the mansion to the dungeons below Adagio dragged Aria, the shorter girl staying silent not wanting to give Adagio any satisfaction, or at the very least as little satisfaction as possible. If there was anything Aria had learned from her previous visits to the dungeon she knew panic and pleading was what Adagio wanted. She made the mistake of begging the first time around only to see how much delight it brought her tormentor, so by this point she had become so accustomed to the routine that she knew better, much to Adagio's displeasure.
"Oh, so quite-but don't worry, we'll have you screaming and begging before too long, just like old times" Adagio cooed as she smiled back at Aria. "Do your worst bitch!" Aria huffed "I don't care, we've played this game a million times already, there's nothing you can do to scare me anymore" Aria growled with what she believed to be sincere confidence, though Adagio could still detect the ever slightest tinge of fear in her voice, even if Aria could not.
"Hehhehee, we shall see dear Aria, we shall see" Adagio sang as she continued to pull Aria along, the girl's hands tied together, doing her best not to trip down the stairs until the two finally got to an old steel door with a small window that could be opened and closed. Adagio got out her key and unlocked the door, lifted the bar and slowly opened it with a creak. "Ahh, playroom, sweet playroom" Adagio cooed as she flipped a switch, dim lights slowly flickering on across the rather large dungeon suite. All save for one corner which stayed mysteriously unlit.
Aria looked around the room, not much had changed since her last visit, a few more lights poorly hung-up and connected, the various sets of chains on the walls and floor, long ago such devices may have been used to hold prisoners, but now they were just used as part of Adagio's sick games to punish or as she saw it, play with those that angered her. On the right side of the room a large chest that contained Adagio's various "Toys" as she called them, tools of torture however they would most likely be considered to anyone else. Aria made a low growl as Adagio forced her down and latched a set of chains onto her arms and legs, leaving her chained down to the ground in the middle of the room.
"hehe, almost time to play, guess you won't be needing these" Adagio cackled evily as she ripped Aria's cloths off, exposing the poor girl's body to the rather cold temperature of the dungeon. Adagio taking in full view of her prey. While Aria might disappoint many given her rather small breasts and short petite figure, Adagio had come to appreciate her form in a way, short, skinny, and at the very least and average size rump and well toned arms, well as much as such could be on such mutt. Aria was an odd mix, not quite feminine or masculine, an androgynous form for a girl that believed herself to be much more tough and intimidating then she actually was. Though Adagio was still confident that she would be able to teach Aria her proper place soon enough.
"Well, I guess it is time to begin" Adagio cooed in a sultry tone as she moved towards her treasure chest and opened it up, removing a paddle and a whip, this whip a tad different then the one she usually carried, this one was longer, reached farther and stung extra hard, she made sure of it. And the paddle, was just to keep things from getting too boring of course.
"He, that all" Aria tried to faux-taunt her impending harasser.
"For now, yes....but if you make it through this....I have something very special planned" Adagio cooed looking up at the clock. By now it was almost Eleven at night. "Yes just last a little over an hour dear sister and then the real fun can begin!" Adagio menicingly sang.
"Pfft, yea like you'll last more then ten minutes before you pop a nut and pass out yea sado-masochistic freak!" Adagio taunted her master once more, doing everything to convenience herself she had the mental and emotional fortitude to make it through this.
"Hehe...we shall see sister, we shall see!" Adagio sang once more.

The sound of the whip hitting Aria's back echoed through the dungeon as Aria gritted her teeth still trying to do her best not to scream despite each whip of the lash against her backside stinging just as bad as the last. Aria had hopped the pain would dull over time this time around but in the end she knew better. This was Adagio's special whip, most likely embedded with some sort of magic that made sure the fiftieth hit hurt just as much as the first. As the lashing continued she just continued to growl and moan doing her best not to scream out in pain.
Hehe, you are developing quite the tolerance it seems dear Aria" Adagio mockingly chuckled. "Outside of that first lash I haven't heard your beautiful screams at all" Adagio pouted.
"Tough Titties Bitch! Now let me outta here already!" Aria growled.
"Oh but my dear Aria it's only been half an hour and we haven't even gotten to the good part yet" Adagio devilishly grinned as she dropped the whip and picked up the paddle. "All fours NOW!" Adagio commanded as she stared down at Aria. Aria just looking at Adagio with defiant disgust but reluctantly obeying none the less, it wasn't as if she could stand up properly with these chains in her arms and legs anyway.
"Good Girl" Adagio cooed as she patted Aria on ths head before returning to the girl's backside. "Now tell me dear sister, why can't you just be a good girl and beheave all the time!?" Adagio faux-whinned.
"Ha, That's rich!" Aria chuckled "You don't even believe that i'm your sister!" Aria angrily growled at Adagio.
"True" Adagio agreed. "Your mother was a common street whore my father had the misfortune of being weak enough to fancy for a night or two" Adagio chuckled, noticing how the comments had caused Aria's anger to flare-up once more. "No doubt she slept with many men so who's to say if you're the bastard child of the late king or some nameless peasent." Adagio continued. "However, my father kept you even after that tramp ran off and raised you as his own, treated you no different then Sonata or I. And do you know what that means dear Aria!?" Adagio devilishly sang once more.
"Nope, but I bet you'll tell me" Aria growled, the anger deep and palpitable in her tone of voice.
"It means" Adagio growled back as she slapped Aria's ass with the paddle, "That you owe your life to our late father, which by extent means you owe your life to me!!" Adagio cackled as she slapped Aria's rump with the paddle once more.
"Now tell me little mutt, who owns this ass of yours!?" Adagio asked with devious glee.
"No one, I own my own ass yea dumb witch! Now let me go already yea lunatic!" Aria angrilly bemoaned.
"Tehehe, just the answer I was hopping for!" Adagio sang in delight as she continued to beat the girl's rear end.
Another half hour passed with Adagio alternating between paddeling Aria's bottom, grabbing her face and giving her a good slap, pulling on her hair and occassionally clawing at her back. Sadly to some degree Aria had held back her expressions of pain nearly everytime. And as both girls drew heavy breaths Adagio finally dropped the paddle.
"He...see...told yea...i'd win" Aria weakly rasped with a half-smile.
All of a sudden the clock struck midnight and began to chime, and as if on que Adagio started laughing like she had gone completly mad.
"Wh-what the hell is all that about!?" Aria asked, the fear and confusion in her voice quite evident.
"Oh, Aria-sweetie, its midnight, its a new day-Happy birthday dear, you made it to eighteen, i'm so proud, now let's make a proper lady out of you!" Adagio cackled as tears rolled down her eyes, tears of sadistic joy as Aria looked on in fear and saw her walking towards the dark corner, hearing a large switch flip and like magic the corner lit-up revealing a rather odd and unsettling device.
"Now my dear" Adagio sang. "Time for your present!"
Aria was too weak at this point to fight back. Even though Adagio unchained her she couldn't run, trying to crawl away would be pointless and just bring her tormenter further pleasure, so she did nothing and accepted her fate as Adagio picked her up and tied her down to the cold metal device. Tightning the straps as much as she could and pulling down some sort of makeshit helment before finishing up by putting a ballgag in Aria's mouth.
"So yea don't accidentally bite off your tounge." Adagio smiled as she patted Aria on the cheek.
"But we're not done yet" Adagio sang as she pulled out something from below as was evident from the sound of sliding metal. Aria looked down and saw a large silver phallus posistioned right under her neithers. The sight of this caused her to panic as she began to struggle, muffled shrieks coming from behind the gag.
"Oh. Do you like it?" Adagio teased. "I made this machine ecspecially for you dear sister." Aria cooed with sick delight.
"You see one switch sends a shock that can range from low to high depending on the setting and the other activates our little friend down there to...pleasure you" Adagio chuckled. "You see, i've been reading some books lately you see" Adagio boasted "And I realize I was foolish to think pain alone would be enough to teach you, so i'm trying something new" The witch of a duchess smiled. "Pain & Pleasure together. A shock and a good rutting together should be enough to break even you" Adagio grinned. "By the time this is over pain and pleasure will be one in the same to you, as will love and hate, and my dear Aria you will never defy me again!" Adagio manically laughed as Aria continued to struggle, desperatly trying to escape. It all made sense now, Adagio had wanted this, all of this, she wanted an excuse to break Aria before the big party....and Aria had fallen right into her trap. Everything before was part of a ruse to wear Aria down to the point of exhaustion, all so Adagio could successfully break here. As the realization fully sunk in there was nothing left Aria could do but sob.
"Oh, hush now, no tears, not yet, we haven't even started" Adagio gently sang as she rubbed Aria's cheek. "Don't worry, this shouldn't take too long." She smiled as she moved towards the switches and knobs and began to start-up the device.
Aria paniced once more as she squirmed doing her best to try to break free. "Yttttg mmmmmmee gook" she mumbled through the ballgag looking at Adagio eyes mixed with anger and fear, but Adagio just chuckled as the device came to life. The helment began to glow as a small shock was sent to Aria's cranium "ffffhhuucckkk" Aria exclaimed in muffles through the gag.

"My own special blend" Adagio soflty chuckled. A nice little potion mixed in with the warm water, should heal yea right up." The previously cruel and sadistic fiend stated in a now caring almost motherly tone as she dipped her hand in the warm red water and swirled it around a bit.
Aria just continued to look-up at Adagio and began to cry. "I-i'm s-sorry about the cakes" Aria sobbed. "I-I'll b-be a good girl from now on, I promise, p-please d-don't h-hate me!!" Aria continued to cry as if she were a small child. Adagio just chuckling as she began to drain the tub, Aria jumping out with new found energy and embracing Adagio tightly despite still being rather wet. "I'm sorry, i'm sorry." Aria continued to sob over and over as she hugged her sister tightly.
"It's ok Aria, all is forgiven" Adagio softly reassured as she stroked Aria's hair. "Now let's get your night gown on and get you to bed. It is very late and tommorow is a very important day." Adagio softly sang.
"O-ok sis. Aria sniffled as she wipped the tears from her eyes, letting Adagio lead Aria back into her bedroom.
Later Adagio tucked the barely-concious girl into bed and gave her a kiss on the forehead as Aria closed her eyes and squeezed her Teddy bear tightly as she drifted off into a deep sleep. Adagio did her best to contain herself as she made her way back to her own bedroom and exploded with manical laughter as she closed her door. It had worked, after all this time, she had finally done it, she had finally broken Aria and put that mutt in her place, leaving nothing but a scared childish husk in the wake. This thought brought delight to Adagio because now she knew that tommorow would be perfect!!
