Pinkie wandered through Ponyville wearing a hooded cloak that obscured her fully. Those stupid guards, leaving a rookie in charge of her cell. They were just ASKING for her to escape. Diving into a section of bushes, she could see Sugarcube Corner straight ahead. The Cakes had left Ponyville a while ago, to be closer to Mrs. Cakes family in Manehattan, and so had left the Corner to Pinkie. It seemed, through a loophole in Sugar Cube Corner's deed, that the town COULDN'T claim ownership of it without TWO full years of inactivity, and Pinkie had only been incarcerated for about a year. Luckily, she had a contingency plan, and it had just walked out the front door sweeping the front stoop. Maud was wearing the apron that Pinkie had sent to her, and under NORMAL circumstances, Pinkie would have been happy to see that. Taking a deep breath, as her sister turned her back, Pinkie leapt out of the bushes and headed to the back of the Corner, leaping up to the balcony that was just outside her room. Finally, she could take a deep breath and evaluate her situation. The guards would have raised the alarm, that's a no brainer. It wouldn't be long until that alarm reached to Ponyville and the town would then be on lockdown. She only had a little time. Heading to her closet, she pulled out her special box. It'd been a while since she'd used the contents, but a statement had to be made.

"If you're looking for your suit, it's in the wash," a monotone voice said. Pinkie gasped, and turned around, her blue eyes meeting the turquoise of Maud's.

"Don't sneak up on me like that, Maudie," Pinkie said, taking out a few specific items from her box and placing them on the bed.

"I knew that Asylum wouldn't hold you for long, Pinkie. Their foundations were not made up to code," Maud said.

Pinkie smiled. Of all her siblings, Maud was always the one who cared for her wellbeing. "You been taking care of the Corner while I've been gone?" she asked, grabbing the white grease paint and scooping some up with her hoof.

"I've almost run out of those pre-made treats you have. Also, hired a contractor to hide your party cave from prying eyes. What exactly are you planning, Pinkie?" Maud asked as Pinkie smeared the paint on her face.

"A statement needs to be made, Maudie. If the ponies want to be afraid, then I'll give them something to be afraid of. Something that they'll soon see not even CELESTIA can deal with," she said, grabbing the black grease paint once her face and ears were fully covered in white paint. Scooping up some of the black paint, Pinkie smeared it over her eyelids. "She wants to lock me up again? She's gonna realize that I won't go back easily."

"It may not be so easy this time, Pinkie. Did you hear about the break in at Vinyl and Octavia's?" Maud asked, moving over to the drawer and pulling out a button shirt and slacks. "Apparently, two stallions tried to break in, but were stopped by a pony all clad in black. When they were being processed, they were saying how it was a 'giant bat'. What happens if this bat creature stops you?"

"Really, Maud? Somepony's trying to play hero, their victim's say something about it being a giant bat, and you think I should be worried? You DO know me, right?" Pinkie asked, having smeared the black paint on both her eyes, then grabbed the red lipstick.

"I'm just looking out for you. They apparently were nursing broken limbs and concussions when they were being processed," Maud said, as Pinkie was applying the lipstick to her mouth, extending it into a smile.

"If this 'bat' DOES attempt to stop me, I'll make them regret it, I promise you. On a more...lighter tone, I finally kissed Twilight," Pinkie said, reaching back into her box and grabbing the green mane dye. "Can you give me a hoof with this? I need somepony to get into the hard to reach places of my mane," she said. Maud nodded, taking the dye and rubbing it into Pinkie's mane. After a few minutes of rubbing and letting it dry, Pinkie's straight mane was now a dirty green color. They then did the same process with her tail. Maud's eyes widened in surprise. Her sister looked like a completely different mare now. "How do I look?" Pinkie asked.

"Unrecognizable," Maud said, regaining her monotone.

Pinkie grinned, grabbing the shirt and slacks that Maud had put out. "Thanks, Maudie. These are perfect," she said, slipping on the slacks and pulling her tail through the hole, then slipped the shirt on. "Hmm. I think it's missing something." Opening her closet again, she pulled out a grey blazer and slipped it on over the shirt. "Mirror?" she asked her sister. Without a word, Maud pulled the large full body mirror in front of Pinkie, and the mare finally got a good look at what she looked like.

The face paint DID make her look unrecognizable. It made her look like a clown, in fact. With the patterned button down shirt, grey blazer and slacks covering most of her fur, somepony would have to be VERY close to know it was Pinkie. Combine that with the fact her mane and tail were now green, and that Maud put green lenses in her eyes to change the color, and you would NEVER know that this was, in fact, Pinkie Pie. Silence reigned for a moments, until Pinkie started chuckling. It was an absolutely PERFECT disguise, even she could see. Soon, the chuckling grew to peals of high pitched laughter, which then grew into full on cackling. Her body was vibrating and shaking with the force of her laughing. The only sounds that came from her room in Sugarcube Corner for another few minutes was Pinkie's cackling, until it finally died down.

"Maud, go get my duffle bag. These ponies think that this 'bat' is something to fear? Wait til' they get a load of me," she said, turning to face her sister, her pupil's having shrunk and a deranged smile plastered to her face.

The First Bank of Ponyville was not the most..popular. Seeing as it was the only bank in the small town, the upkeep was not consistent. Even so, there had to have been more than over 3 billion bits in the vaults, plus the thousands of paper notes that the tellers would give. You would think that it would be the last place to be robbed, which was made it so surprising when the gunfire went off.

"HEADS DOWN EVERYPONY! NOW! Make one wrong move, and we plug you all full of holes. FORELEGS UP, HEADS DOWN!" a voice yelled. Four stallions in clown masks came galloping in, letting off rounds from their machine guns to show they were not joking. The bank tellers had no warning when they were pulled from their counters and pushed to the floor.

There was an eerie silence, as a new pony trotted in. Also wearing a clown mask, this pony began to give orders to the stallions. "Boys! Grab the duffle bags and fill them with as many bits and notes as you can, and do it fast before the police show up! Got it?!" the pony snapped, their tone raspy and sharp. The stallions nodded, grabbing the duffle bags and heading for the vaults.

"You'll never get away with this!" one of the bank tellers yelled.

The masked pony turned to them and chuckled. "Really? Why is that?"

"BECAUSE WE'RE GONNA STOP YOU!" a voice yelled. The pony turned to find the Elements of Harmony. Applejack's glare could curdle milk, Rarity's horn was already flared up, Rainbow was snarling and coiling her muscles, and even Fluttershy had a stern stare on her face. Only Twilight was the one who hesitated.

"Oh please! How are you all going to stop me?" the masked pony asked, lifting up the pistol that they had been holding and aimed it at the Elements. "You all try anything, and I start killing hostages. So, I suggest you be good girls and stay still!" Suddenly, the lights went out, shrouding the inhabitants in darkness.

"Okay, what're you all playing at?" the masked mare asked.

"That wasn't us," the Elements said. Just as the lights went back on, a figure all clad in black crashed through the glass ceiling and landed to the floor in front of the masked mare.

"Nice entrance. Either you've never heard of a door, or you just enjoy picking glass out of your shorts!" the masked mare said to the newcomer.

"It's over! Put the gun down!" the black clad pony growled, their voice unnaturally deep. The masked mare chuckled, then slowly removed the mask to reveal their face. Painted to look like a grotesque clown, with a horrible smile, her green eyes shone bright, as her long green mane fell straight down.

"You're the 'bat' creature that everyone's been talking about, aren't you? Well, let me tell you something, Bats. NO ONE tells the Joker what to do! Get me?!" she asked, aiming the gun at the black pony. Before it could be fired, the bat threw something at the Joker's hoof, causing her to drop the gun. Then, the two began to fight. The bat pony was clearly the better trained of the two, but the Joker was much more unpredictable, as she dodged the jabs from the bat pony, before revealing a knife in her sleeve and swiping at the black clad pony. The Elements could only watch in astonishment.

"Did any of ya'll think we were gonna see this?" Applejack asked.

"You mean this 'Joker' fighting the Bat of Ponyville? No," Rarity replied. Twilight, however, said nothing. She knew who the Joker was under that makeup, and the more she watched the fight, the more worried she became.

"Puddin', what're you doing?" she asked under her breath.

The Bat began to press their attack, landing jabs to the Joker's face and abdomen. In a desperate dive, the Joker regained hold of the gun, and fired off several rounds, cackling madly. The Bat dodged the shots and ran down a hallway, as the Joker grabbed one of the tellers, slowly following with their gun to the temple of the hostage.

"Batsy! Come on out! I promise I'll make it painless!" the Joker called, in a sing-song tone. No response came. "Okay, if that's how you want to play it," she said, throwing the hostage back and pulling out a grenade. The Elements gasped, diving for cover. Pulling the pin with her teeth, the Joker grinned. "TRY THIS ONE ON FOR SIZE, BATS!" she said, cackling and throwing it into the hallway. The explosion rocked the bank, as smoke began to come from the hallway. But, when it cleared, there was no Bat. The Joker roared in rage. "Okay! You wanna play hardball! Fine!" she barked, grabbing a shotgun and holding it to one of the younger bank tellers! "I'm gonna give you to the count of 'five', Bats, then I start KILLING everyone in this room!" she yelled. "ONE!" No response. "TWO!" Still nothing. "THREE!" Silence. "FOUR!"

Out of the rafters, a rope with a claw shout out and wrapped around the Joker's foreleg, angling the shotgun up, before the Bat landed a flying kick to the face of the Joker. Now flat on her back, the Joker couldn't defend herself from the blows of the Bat, and was knocked out. The Bat stood up, breathing hard and then cuffed the Joker, leaving her for the police. What the Bat was not expecting was the angry face of Princess Twilight Sparkle in front of her.

"Who do you think you are?! Taking the law into your own hooves like that?! Does it make you feel better, beating on sick ponies?!" she asked, pushing the Bat away to get to the Joker. She could feel the tears welling up, seeing the developing black eye and bleeding snout on the unconscious pony. It didn't matter to Twilight who saw, her Puddin' needed comfort. Wrapping her forelegs around the Joker, Twilight nuzzled her chest.

"Twilight! What're you doing?"! Applejack asked. What she got in response was a snarl from the Princess, her eyes full of fire and her horn flaring up. The Bat was silent, watching the scene.

"Everypony get out of here," Twilight said softly. Her friends were shocked at the scene before them. "I SAID GET OUT OF HERE NOW!!" The Bat sighed, before zipping back up through the roof and out of the bank. The Elements hesitated.

"Twi, what's going on here?!" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I. SAID. GET. OUT!!!!!!!!" Twilight screamed, her horn flaring up and physically teleporting her friends away. Then it was silent, save for Twilight's quiet weeping. "It's okay, Puddin'. I got you. I won't let them hurt you." She stayed like that till the police came, and processed the Joker, who were ordered by Twilight to send her to Whitetail Asylum. As she watched them cart the Joker away, something snapped in Twilight's head. Her mane began sticking up and her eye twitched, as she started to chuckle, trotting out of the bank and to Sugar Cube Corner. "Don't worry, Puddin'. We'll make them pay," she said to herself, and then that was it. All it took was one bad day for Twilight Sparkle to lose her mind.

Author's Note

Okay, I REALLY liked writing this chapter. If you're wondering, yes, I'm going all in with Pinkie as the Joker. Next chapter is Twilight becoming Harley Quinn, which is going to be VERY fun. The breakout is going to be almost exactly like it was in BTAS. Also, don't expect a reveal of Batmare anytime soon. I will give you another hint about her though. She's a pegasus. Hope you enjoyed this guys. Stay tuned.
