Despite her escapades in Ponyville, Trixie is still in need of cash. Shortly following Starswirl's return, Starlight Glimmer receives a special invitation to come stay with Sunburst, and to help him with his research for a while. In her absence, Twilight considers that taking care of the cleaning was taking up far too much of her time, and because of this recent development, she decides to start advertising that the castle could use a new maid. Twilight doesn't want just any maid to take care of such a responsibility, though. She takes her time weeding out who she should hire, and in time, Trixie catches on to the job.

Who better to work for than somepony with an endless supply of extremely valuable diamonds, gems, and other assorted jewels? Not to mention, Trixie wouldn't even really need to steal any of it. Twilight would be more than likely to overpay anyways. However, Pinkie also ends up wanting the job. She seeks to help Mrs. Cake open a brand new Sugar Cube Corner right in the heart of the city of Canterlot. Will Twilight hire Trixie over Pinkie, or will she choose her more closer friend instead? Will she hire both of them, and if she were to do that, would Trixie even be able to function efficiently when working with somepony like Pinkie?

Would Twilight even be able to take control of such possible situations?
