Ponyville. A small, modest town with a population of just a little over fifty. Twilight Sparkle was resident there, living in a castle, right on the edge of the village. She was a princess, a lucky unicorn given wings for her modesty, selflessness, and kindness. She didn't do it alone, though. She had 5 friends to help her every trot of the way.~~You already knew that.~~

With them all pre-occupied with themselves in the castle, Rarity shining her chair, Twilight reading one of her books, Dash taking a nap, Fluttershy cuddling Angel, Applejack and Pinkie baking a pie, they were all in bliss. The saviors of Equestria were happily spending time together as friends. Until the map was changing...
"Hey, what's this?" Twilight said as she observed The Crystal Empire turning an alarming shade of red on the map. Everypony started noticing, confused. They all knew it didn't mean anything good.

"What the heck is happening to it?" Spike asked.

"I don't know." Twilight replied with a worried look.

"Maybe The Crystal Empire is in danger." Rainbow Dash suggested.

"If it was, don't you think are cutie marks would be glowing and hovering over it?" Applejack said.

"No," Twilight replied, "It only does that if there's a friendship problem. This must be completely different."

"Then what does it mean?" Pinky asked.

"I couldn't tell you, but we better get there fast, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring The Elements."

Everypony grabbed their necklaces and put them on, ready for the journey ahead.

Twilight put on her crown and before she walked out the door, she turned to Spike and said, "Hold down the fort while were gone. Check if The Crystal Empire returns to normal on the map."

Spike salutes and jogs back to the Throne Room, closing the door behind him.

As Twilight was sitting on the train, her brain was pacing nonstop. Her head was pumping with stress and pain. She was worried about what might be happening that was so important that it could alter it's look on the map. The other ponies started to notice.

"Lemmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee guesssssssssssssss, you'reworriedbecauseTheCrystalEmpirecouldbeinmortaldangerwithpossiblytonsofCrystalPoniesfearingfortheirlifeandCadenceandShiningArmorcouldmostlikelybeinseriousperilbecauseofitturningredonthemap." Pinky said right before pouring red paint on herself.

"I'm fine," Twilight responded, "It's just that something like this has never happened before."

"Don't worry, Twilight. Whatever it is, we'll stop it just like we did with all the other terrible stuff!" Rainbow Dash said firmly.

"You guys are right, if it's something bad, I'm sure we can handle it."

"You said it yourself," Applejack chimed, "there's nothing that the magic of friendship can't do."

"Are you sure you're 100% convinced that we have this under control yet, or do we have to keep giving you a pep talk?" Rarity joked.

"I'm convinced." Twilight reassured

"Let's just hope it isn't too scary." Fluttershy said while curling up in a ball.

When the train arrived, only The Main 6 got off. They didn't question it. The painful snow thrown in their face by the wind. It was hard to bear. They trudged through, and made it past The Crystal Empire weather barrier. When they saw what they saw, they wished they stayed in the snow instead.

They saw nothing but misery. The Crystal Ponies were wearing fierce-looking helmets. Most of them were in chains. The ones that weren't were holding spears, standing next to a door. There were stray black crystals everywhere. Some crystals made hideous structures. The Main 6 all had one pony in mind when it came to things like this.

"SOMBRA!" Twilight yelled out.

The enslaved ponies stop and look over in her direction. The feared king walks out of the castle and onto a balcony. He had bloodlust in his eyes. He looked upon them with pity of how weak he saw them as. Yet he wouldn't hold back.

Before they knew it, a huge crystal grew out of the ground for Sombra as a walkway. He walked slowly on it, making sure each step seemed sinister. As he got closer, The Main 6 were charging up The Elements. Sombra knew that it wasn't good for him.

"This is you're end, Sombra!" Twilight said with absolute confidence.

Her eyes glowed as the group of friends were floating, ready to stop him in his tracks. They were all sure this would send him back to Taurtaurus.

Suddenly, Sombra quickly grew 6 crystals from the ground, all knocking them to the ground. Their elements all fell off. Sharp rocks arose from where The Elements were. They all broke. They were shocked. Nopony had ever dared do this.

"No problem for us," Rainbow Dash remarked, "Let's just do what we did with Tirek."

"Oh, YEAH!" Pinky said, jumping higher than a building.

As they all closed their eyes, beams of light flashed down on all of them. In an instant, they changed into a form more beautiful than before. Their hair and wings became vibrant with colors. It was amazing for The Crystal Ponies to watch. They thought would stop King Sombra in his tracks. Sombra would not have this.

A blast was sent from the aura around them. It targeted right at the corrupted king. Before it could destroy him, Sombra jumped to the left, avoiding the blast radius. When they opened their eyes, they were shocked to see him in full tact.

"ENOUGH!" Sombra yelled, while slamming the ground before him.

As the land shook, crystals sprouted, knocking The Main 6 to the ground. Their eyes were full of fear, not knowing what he would do. King Sombra looked at them with nothing blood lust. Sombra was angrier than ever, with veins pumping visibly in his head.

"I will not allow you to defeat me again!" Sombra yelled. "You are fools if you think I will just stand still and let you stop me!"

As The Mane 6 shivered in fear, crystals covered the lower halves of all them. Sombra smirked while on a dark pedestal. He watched as they struggled and tugged to get out of his dark, sharp rocks.

Rainbow Dash was strong enough to smash herself free while Twilight was using a blasting spell to melt through the geodes.

"Take.. THIS!" Rainbow Dash said, charging towards the demonic dictator.

Before she could even touch him, Sombra made a wall in front of him. Dash flew right into it. Another crystal grew out, punching Rainbow, at a the speed of a bullet. The crystal push her to a wall and... SHINK! Before she knew it, Rainbow Dash had been stabbed in the heart! She was losing breath. She had suddenly lost all her strength. She could hear the bones in her wings cracking. She was in pain she never knew existed. But she could not scream. She could only let out small sighs of agony.

Twilight saw this and yelled, "NOOOO!!"

She broke the prisons holding her down with furious rage. She broke the other imprisoning her friends. Her horn glowed and a bubble formed around all 6 of them. Geodes struck the bubble with lethal force. Twilight held her breath and a flash consumed The Mane 6.

The Crystal Empire slaves walked towards Sombra.

"Find those idiots. Invade every city, and spare no life!" Sombra ordered. "We cannot have them stop us."

Twilight was hyperventilating. Rainbow was dying before her eyes.

"GET HER ON THE TABLE!"
