Jason Wright was a normal man. He was a 6'4 mixed colored man who had a fairly toned and muscular body. He lives in Miami, Florida in a nice looking beach house that has the best view for watching sunsets. Currently, he works as a mechanic at an auto repair shop that his father had opened when he was just a little boy just a mile away from his home on the beach. He loved to be around people especially his friends and family. He would always have their backs when they are in a time of need. Heck if the circumstance called for it, he would throw his life away just to protect them from any harm. Right now Jason is at work working on a car that was said to be having some issues. It was about 5:30 p.m, so it was almost his shift's end. Well, as he was working on the car that needed to be looked over, he heard something from the TV.

" The rest of the evening is expected to be sunny with low wind speeds and without a single cloud in the sky. Perfect time for a late swim and a perfect time to view the sunset." Said the weatherman.

" Well that's good, maybe I will ask Sarah if she will like to come for a swim after my shift is over." He said out loud to nobody in particular. As he continued his work, he heard the bell above the door make a ringing sound signaling that somebody had entered the shop. Jason looked up and smiled warmly as he saw Mr. Patterson, the owner of the car that Jason was working on and a very close family friend of his as well, walking through the front door.
Mr. Patterson was an elderly man, at least in his late sixties and he has seen his fair share of life. He had a circular head with some stubble both there and there on his face. He was also a very close friend to Jason's family and even closer friend to his parents specifically

" Well hello, there Mr. Patterson. What brings you by? Your car isn't scheduled to be ready until tomorrow" he asked inquisitively.

" Hello, Jason. I was just coming by to checking in on things and seeing how you've been. "

" Well everything with your car is just fine, it just needed a few adjustments. Nothing I can't handle. Besides that everything is well in my world. I think after work I'm going to head down to the beach" he said back.

" Oh yeah? I remember back in my day every summer everybody would head down to the beach for some fun in the sun. Yup, those were the best moments in my life. Make sure that you cherish moments like that, life is too short to miss out on the good stuff. "

" I will be sure to do that Mr. Patterson. I love life too much to let it go to waste anyways" Jason responded honestly. A few moments passed by and Jason checked the time to discover that the end of his shift for the day.

" Well, I suppose it's time to head back home. Your car will be ready to leave by lunch tomorrow Mr. Patterson" Jason said as he started to gather his things. Both Jason and Mr. Patterson started to head to the door. Before they went their separate ways, Jason started to lock the door, leaving room for more words to be said.

" Don't forget about the thing I said earlier about the little things. Make sure everything that you do counts, you won't regret" Mr. Patterson said waiting for a reply.

"I won't sir. You can count on it" Jason replied giving a firm handshake before leaving. "See you around old-timer."

"Likewise Jason. Enjoy the rest of your evening" and with that, they both left to go to their respective destinations. As Jason started walking back home, he decided to make a quick phone call.

*Ring *Ring *Ring

"Hello" came a voice from the other side of the line.

"Hey Sarah, I was wondering if you wanted to come to my house for a swim down at the beach, you interested" Jason waited patiently waited for a reply.

"Interested? I'm already here waiting for you to come home! Do you think that I would let this perfect day go to waste? Ha! You thought wrong", Sahara replied with energy.

" One step ahead of me just like always, huh sis?", he asked back as he cracked a smile.

" Of course I am, big brother. I have to be, it's the rules of being related to me" she said back with a small giggle.

" Haha, very funny. Ok, I'm on my way right now, I'll be home in a few minutes." With that they both hung up the phone and Jason continued his way back home. While he was walking down the shoreline, he took the time to enjoy the scenery around him. Taking notice of the setting sun.

" Sunsets like this make life worth living. Enjoy the little things." With a wide smile, Jason continued his way home. After about five more minutes went by, Jason noticed a slight breeze coming out of nowhere. Deciding to ignore it, for now, he continued on his way. Still walking down the shore, he noticed that the wind was getting even stronger and strange dark clouds were starting to form right above him. Standing still, curious and quizzical about his current situation, Jason didn't notice that the mysterious storm had formed so quickly that it was already starting to pour. Shortly after starting to rain, thunder and lightning could be heard and seen in every direction. Bolts of lightning could be seen striking the ground with an immense amount of explosive force. Something with this storm was very wrong. It just came out of nowhere and hurricanes shouldn't be arriving this early in the year.

" Jason! What are you doing? You need to get inside right now, it's not safe!" Sarah exclaimed with a sense of urgency.

Pulled out of his stupor and only being less than a hundred yards away from safety, Jason started to make a mad dash for the house. But suddenly up above, a strange blue light started to appear right above Jason, giving him all the more reason to inside.

" Come on! You got to run faster! It's not safe out there! The storm is out of control!" Now only twenty yards from the house, Jason suddenly stopped and fell to the floor screaming in excruciating pain.

"AAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!!" All around his body, he felt like he was on fire. Every single fiber of his being screamed at him. Stealing a few glances at himself, Jason could see that the veins in his arms were burned with electricity. Then it finally dawned on him. He had been struck by a stray bolt of lightning.

"JASON" Seeing her older brother being struck down by lightning overwhelmed Sarah in mere seconds after it happened. She could see her brother writhing in pain on the wet ground, his clothes burned and smoking slightly. She ran without a moment's notice. She ran like her life depended on it, but rather like her brother's life depended on it, which in this case it did. As she ran up closer to him, she started to notice what that bolt of lightning really did to Jason. His skin was burnt and charred as well as his clothes. She also took notice of his veins, they were all visible and looked black as if they were burned on the inside out.

After rolling in pain for about five minutes, Jason tried his best to open his eyes and try to look at the things around him. All he could see was his sister looking at him with a worried expression and a very blackened sky above. He saw her pull out her phone and start tapping away at the screen, most likely calling for help. As his vision started to fade, he could faintly hear his sister say " Hang in there Jason, help is coming."

"Sarah, please. H-Help me." he managed a faint groan and shortly after that his vision went black.
