PERSPECTIVE: JASON

Darkness. That's all that I can see around me. I'm floating here in an endless void of darkness. Now trying to figure out why I'm here in the first place, I seem to recall yesterday's events. I remember calling my sister and telling her if she wanted to come by my place to hang out. As I walked down the shore I remember there being a huge increase to the wind speed. although there was never one prior to the moment. Just deciding that the weatherman just made an incorrect prediction in the weather, I continued on my way. Shortly after that moment in time, strange black clouds started to appear in the sky and along with it, stronger winds. When the clouds got above me it started to pour uncontrollably. Lightning and thunder could be seen and heard in every direction that I looked. Looking back at my house that wasn't terribly far away, I could hear Sarah screaming at me to get inside quickly. Seeing her this worried about the weather made it seem serious, since she wasn't the kind of person to be really bothered by some rain.

I remember running to the house and and seeing some weird light. I took notice that the light was coming from above me in the clouds. As I started my attention back to the house, I remember being forced to the ground with such a force that the impact alone should have knocked me out. But no, instead I was pushed to the grounded and started scream. For some reason my body started to burn with a fire so great that it felt like i was going to melt. I stole a few glances at the things around me. I took notice of my arms and how the veins in them looked burnt and darker than the night sky. Then just like that it hit me. I was struck down by a stay bolt of lightning. The pain was unbearable. It felt like I was burning from the ly inside out and my back felt like a freight train ran into it, mostly like the result of the bolt hitting me there.

The very last thing I remember, was my sister looking down at me with the most worried expression that I have ever seen on her face. She was crying and talking to somebody on her phone, which was probably the emergency services. After that everything was a haze.

Now considering my situation of floating in a dark and endless void a came to a conclusion. I was dead. But I still can feel everything around me. Maybe I'm just unconscious? Well if that is the case, that would probably explain why I can still feel a burning sensation all around my body. I looked down at my arms to see if they were covered in burnt veins. Hhhmm. Nope the burns are all gone.

Just deciding to leave alone for now, I ignore it and go back to looking around my surroundings. Still nothing but a black void, but I did take notice of something that wasn't there before. It was talking. I could hear people talking.

" Doctor is he going to be okay?" That voice sounded familiar. I sounded like Sarah. But there was also a second voice that I heard that I never heard before.

" I'm afraid that Jason has suffered-" Then it stopped. I started to hear a rumbling noise coming out of nowhere. I turn around in an attempt to see what was causing the sound. Behind me was a very bright white light. It got even brighter to a point I had to cover my eyes. Eventually everything just disappeared. The white light and the rumbling noise had stopped. When I had opened my eyes, instead of being met with a blackened void, I was met with a white wall. I looked around very slowly. I took notice of a tv set hanging in the corner of the wall. Looking around some more, I saw that I was laying in a bed. Now I started to hear something. It sounded like beeping. Glancing to my right I took notice of a heart monitor. Huh, I must be in the hospital. To my left I heard a gasp.

" You're awake!" Finding the source of the voice, it was my sister, Sarah. She had a huge smile plastered to her face

" Huh, I guess I am. How long was out for?" I asked.

" You've been out for a week." She said sadly, dropping her smile. Man I hated it when she was sad. She was to good of a person to be sad. " Jason have something to tell you and it's not good."

Now with my interest peaked I ask with a curious tone, " What is it sis?"

" Jason, the doctor said that you've been paralyzed from the waste down and that you aren't expected to make it through the night." I was dumbstruck. Not only am I now paralyzed, but now I'm going to die. I look down and start to think about things. Yes I have lived a very good life, but it wasn't enough time. There are so many things that I wanted to do in my life. I planned on joining the military and follow in my father's footsteps as a soldier. I wanted to go places and see the world. Now that none of these things are achievable, I look back to my sister with tears in my eyes. I was all she had left and now my time is up. I won't be able to be there for her anymore. Before anything can be said again, the door to the room opened, revealing the doctor that was treating me.

" Ah, you're awake. That is very good to see." I looked at him with the question that I never saw myself asking for a very long time.

" How long do I have doc? Please, I need to know." He looked at me with a saddened expression.

" You have about an hour or less. Your body is shutting down at an alarming rate. You've already lost some of your organ functions. I'm sorry, but we can't save you Mr. Wright. I wish there was more we could-"

" I understand doc. Say no more, please just spare me." I looked back to sarah. "It looks like this is it kiddo. I wish we had more time to do more things together. Maybe it was meant to be. Despite all of things that's happened, I couldn't be any more proud to call you my sister." And that was her breaking point. She started to sob quietly. She came closer to me and and gave me a tight hug. As we held each other in a heartfelt embrace, I started to accept my fate. At least I finally can be reunited with the rest of my family. Finally I can be at peace..

Suddenly my body started to feel weird. It was a tingly feeling that gradually became a burning sensation. The room started to get really hot and I started to sweat. My vision started to blur and fade in and out. Seconds later I started to jerk back and forth uncontrollably. I couldn't move or anything. Putting two and two together, I figured out that I'm experiencing a seizure. Perhaps this is the way go out. I could hear my sister screaming out of pure terror. I heard voices coming from the door. The voices started to fade and I started to get tunnel vision. I think that this was truly the end for me. In a matter of seconds, stopped moving. The last thing that I head was sustained noise coming from the heart monitor.

PONYVILLE

" Spike stay back. This spell could be dangerous." Twilight Sparkle has always been that of a very curious pony. Well just a few days ago she got curious about something. Where there other things out there other than Equis? Like, is there other living and sentient beings out there in the vast reaches of space or on the plains of a different dimension? Well for the past few days she has been searching for spells that could tell her the answer to her question. The spell would allow the caster to see into other dimensions parallel to Equestria, but this is also her first time using this spell.

"Spike I don't know what will happen when I cast this. There are a number of things that can go wrong" She said in a calm yet serious tone.

" Whatever you say Twilight just be careful. I can't prepare for the arrival of the princesses all by myself. Let me know if the spell was a success. I will take my leave now. See ya." And with that the little purple and green drake took his leave and left Twilight to her devices.

" Alright then let's give this a try." Twilight stood stock still in the middle of her castle library with complete concentration.
She closed her eyes and after a few moments, her horn lit up. It took her a moment, but soon she started to put more magical energy into the spell. Her horn glowed brightly and soon started to spark up a bit due to the amount of energy she was using. Finally after about a minute or so, she started to get results. Straight in front her, a portal opened. I faltered slightly but she was able to stabilize it. Opening her eyes, Twilight looked into the portal, but what she saw confused her. What she saw within the portal was nothing but black storm clouds and lightning. All of this was lived very short though because just as she was about to express her confusion, the portal collapsed on itself and sent a large wave of magical energy in every direction. The result of this was Twilight sent flying into a bookshelf followed by books falling on her and the ground.

" W-what happened? The spell didn't work. What a total bust. Looks like I will have to try again, but not now, it's getting late. I will get some rest and try again tomorrow." And with that Princess Sparkle went to bed.

But what nopony ever noticed in the peaceful town of Ponyville, was the large flash of blue light in the Everfree Forest.
