Twilight's Downfall
The Beginning
Load Full StoryNext ChapterTwilight always loved her friends more then her alicorn powers, and she was proud of it. But, what if jealousy takes over her? Will she still earn her title of "princess", or achieve the title of "queen"?
Twilight was studying hard, after Princess Celestia recommended her to investigate on a new case in Appleoosa which could not be figured out, so she had to visit The Castle of the Two sisters to seize a few books about psychology. Twilight's extra work beside princess duties were like additional stones being stashed onto her back; having to finish the neverending assignments. Twilight hated doing studies, but still loved her books nevertheless. When Twilight would have a random outburst of anger, Spike wouldn't take action at all: he would just sit on his little cushion, but he still felt bad for her. Twilight would barely have any time for her friends, or anypony for that matter, and that would cause her apprehension to rise.
She had alot of fans, friends and family she didn't have time for, because of her stupid researching. Twilight couldn't go anymore then a few days without socializing, until she would feel disorientated and alone. Spike didn't have much time for the princess either, as he was having some secret infatuation with Rarity and wanted to finally ask her the question. When Spike or anypony else bought the subject of "love" and "coltfriends" up to Twilight, she would groan banging her head against a wall. Twilight loved fillies and colts, and wanted a family of her own; after all, she did adore Flurry and her small baby toys. But, then again, she couldn't go out and find someone confidant and truthful for her cause of her stupid bucking studies. Twilight would often curl herself up in a deserted location somewhere in her castle, and just cry, for hours. She wanted all of her stupid tasks to just disappear, as if Celestia only wanted Twilight to do them, and not care about the emotional stress she has to endure everyday in the proccess.
But then, Twilight's mind sparked with a newfound idea; this one surely would work. Twilight galloped to her saddle bag, placing it onto her back immediately. Spike heard the noise of hoofsteps which had shaken him awake.
"Twilight?..", Spike quietly murmured, respiring. "Where are you going?"
The alicorn princess remained reticent, as she packed her luggage, dashing from place to place in a blink of an eye. Spike looked over to her, seeing the distress through her eyes. Twilight took off and circumnavigated her way to Canterlot, not stopping a minute to atleast take in one breath. She landed down right in front of the big palace that towered over her, and walked right in between the guards spears; not leaving any scratch on her. Twilight opened the royal doors leading to Princess Celestia's throne, putting on a sober poker face. Celestia noticed Twilight's resentful look, and raised her chin.
"Princess Twilight, I see you have arrived. What may you want?", Celestia said, calmly. Twilight's head lowered, gazing at Celestia with a death stare.
"I want to talk about YOU using me for your own knowledge, CELESTIA.", Twilight snarled, as Luna noticed the commotion.
"What is this nonsense, Princess Twilight Sparkle.", Luna muttered, turning her head to face the young alicorn. Twilight and Luna engaged in a staring contest for a few minutes, before Luna started walking around Twilight.
"Twilight, we are not using your work for our own profit. For whatever book we make, we mention you in the book. You have no reasoning to visit our castle.", Luna growled back in enmity. All of a sudden, Twilight shook back and blasted a sparkling, blinding aurora into Luna's direction. It, unfortunately, hit the princess and she collapsed on the floor, her crown flying. Twilight walked besides her, looking down at her tiny crown.
"How ironic. The Princess of the Night witnessing a wrath to the youngest alicorn princess.", Twilight taunted her as Luna felt ashamed for not saving herself and her sister from this horrible, abomination of a princess. Celestia stood up, as her face turned to a mix of sorrow and disbelief.
"Twilight Sparkle, my foolish faithful student. I had have thought I could trust you all these years, and yet still, you lust for power?", Celestia said in a dissapointed murmur, looking at Twilight and closing her eyes. Twilight rushed at the princess, hoping to stab her with her long horn, but Celestia stood back, blasting an aurora in Twilight's face just like she did to her sister. Twilight tumbled back and crashed onto the floorboards, twitching. Princess Celestia stood upon her ex-student with a look of grief, her head slowly shifted downwards, as she could not believe what her most trusting smart student wanted to do.
"Guards.", Celestia said as she looked around for any troops. Three guards quickly galloped into the scenario; quickly examining the scene.
"Please do take my sister to the hospital, and Twilight.. leave her here."
Celestia requested of the stallions, as she sat down, still looking down at her used-to-be faithful student. She had never known it would come to this moment, that Twilight's jealousy, anger and longing for power would make all of this happen. She could have considered her as her sister, even daughter but.. she'd never raised her to act like this. Celestia trotted in a circle and then sat again, getting caught in thought. She started silently sobbing, after having a close bond with Twilight, her heart completely fell apart. She couldn't believe this was happening. Celestia felt a hard throbbing headache overcome her, and she blacked out. Two hours had passed and Celestia heard complete silence, but then, she heard her sister's voice.
"Sister, are you awake? A minuscule army of changelings attacked Manehatten, we must defend the crowd.", Luna said with haste. Celestia bolted up, breathing deeply. She looked at her sister, and then at Twilight - but, Twilight was gone. Celestia's glare transferred to Luna.
"Where is Twilight?", Celestia said, quickly standing up.
"She had leapt from the castle earlier, I banished her from ever visiting Canterlot.", Luna said in annoyance. Celestia sighed, putting on her crown.
"I.. I honestly do not know what to do with her. I don't feel that it is right to banish her from Equestria, as she is an alicorn and she can grow more strong, even stronger then us. If I try to confront her, she'll try to kill me.. once again."
Celestia shivered at the thought of her giving up to her student, however, there are three of them combined; Twilight couldn't nor would defeat a large group of mature alicorns, since her magic is still in the "adolescent stage" of alicorn magic. Luna realized that her sister was lost in thought, so she shook her out of it.
"Sister, we have a battle to attend.", Luna said, nervously
"Okay, we must assist in defending the ponies of Manehatten now. Lets hurry, we must not waste any time.", Celestia said as she looked away, and flew up into the sky; following her younger sister.
