Son of a Wolf

Weeks passed as the little bat colt grew up as a member of the wolf pack and he started to adopt the instinct and behaviour of the wolves that surround him and he started to think of his body parts as that of a wolf's biology such as any word with hooves being replaced with paws and muzzle being referred to as snout.

Colt's POV
As all of us turned about 8 weeks old I was guessing because of me not knowing how old my fellow pups were but we started to venture outside and being able to stretch our legs were amazing we were all wobbly but we got to play a bit more and I enjoyed after spending weeks just entertaining myself with the pup's tail and I could know get a look at each of the pups I had spent pretty much my whole life with.

The Mother was a dark grey almost identical to my own coat colour and her eyes were a deep yellow just like mine so I could see more and more how she thought of me as one of her own pups, she was very protective as I am sure any mother is of her young and she was very good at keeping an eye on us as she sat above the den watching the horizon and I could just about see her ears twitching from other sounds.

The first pup who I had called Zeus was the leader of us pups he was always the first to feed and he was always showing off to the rest of us he had the same colour eyes as his mother but his fur was darker almost making him black.

The second pup who I could tell was female I had named her Serenity as she was shy and always trying to avoid any sort of playfighting so she would sit in the entrance to the den right bellow where mother would sit and guard us and she would always feel uncomfortable if she was removed from her spot for any length of time, her coat was a light grey and her eyes were a calm blue just like the sky.

The third pup was male when I called him Darkness as he would always try to blend in as his coat was almost a pitch black and if it wasn't for his dark blue eyes you would not be able to tell hi from the shadows around him. He was not veryvocal of the pups and was the least needy so he would just feed and sleep and play for a lift,e bit which made the rest of us sad as we all felt like he should play more. Him and Serenity seem to hold a bond as whenever Darkness would play he would always go and rest by Serenity and they would my together almost making a ying-yang symbol.

The final pup was called Mute as he was nearly completly silent but would only make noises when hungry but would not bark, howl or make any other noise, he always kept to himself he had a light grey and dark grey coat. The rest saw him as weaker and I later learnt it was his tail that I spent all those weeks playing with so I would always try to play with him and he would always join in as he was very thankful that I liked him even if the rest didn't like to show, but a pack has to stick together and we were a strong pack that when we grew up nothing would be able to stop us when we went hunting of if a creature would trespass on to our territory.

The day had gone very similar to many we had woke up and had our morning feed and we had just ran outside and we were just playing and all of a sudden we heard a growl and a shriek and all of our heads shot up and we all ran back tot he entrance of out den and Mother dropped down from her perch and her ears went back and she bared her teeth at the disturbance as a yellow pegasus with a pink mane flew out and following it was a timberwolf who was set on making this pegasus its next meal.

The wolf bared its wooden fangs at the mare and she sunk in fear with her hooves over her head and started to sob and cry and whisper in a language I didn't understand, as it sat there crying Mother walked in front of her and started tomcircle the timberwolf and they started to fight as both Mother and the Timberwolf fought the pony looked back up with tears brimming its eyes wondering why it hadn't met its end yet and it saw both wolves fur and wood batteling.

The timberwolf kept running in and was looking to get at Mother's forepaw but Mother lifted her foreleg and let the timberwolf go below her before she stomped on its back and bit behind its head which made it roar in pain that sounded like a tree falling down and she held on because if there is one thing us wolves have an advantage over over creatures it is our nice like bite that everywolf has even a shy wolf like serenity possess, mother held on as the timberwolf shook as hard as he could and was slowly starting to get weaker but all of a sudden it bashed Mother's head back into the rock and that caused Mother to release and go limp.

This caused us pups to all team up as me and Zeus jump on and grip onto where Mother had bitten and Mute and Darkness has bitten its front legs and had pulled them back forcing the timberwolf onto his snout, Serenity ran up to his face and bit down by his eye and pulled back tearing one of the timberwolf eyes out and she quickly went to work on its other eye as Mute and Darkness helped out get its neck torn up by our fangs and paws.

Eventually we heard a familiar growl and a familiar smell coming closer so we knew that Mother was back up so we all released the now blind timberwolf and she went to work and bit down hard on the snout that was bleeding a sticky sap like substance which we released so me and the other pups started to clean ourselves and out the corner of my eye I noticed the Pegasus was still there from earlier and as I started to clean one of my back paws.

She slowly walked up to me and when I noticed I dropped into a defensive stance with my fangs bared and ears laid back to show that I was threatened and I am not afraid to pounce and she jumped back and covered her eyes with her hooves and I noticed that this was scared behaviour so I got Serenity and nudged her with my snout and looked at the scared Pegasus and she noticed she was scared so we slowly walked over and sniffed her and she smelled of buttercups so I licked her behind the ear and she tensed up but Serenity nudged her hoof off of her eyes and when she opened her eyes Serenity licked her on the muzzle and she giggled as it tickled her and she started to offer her hoof to touch Serenity and she sniffed it in curiosity, after a snort sniff she move her head closer to the Pegasus and let the Pegasus rub her hoof along Serenity's back and she took a step back and got into a playful stance and I nudged the Pegasus's hoof to try and get a rub and she tried talking to me and I turned my head and was confused so I again nudged her hoof and gave a whimper and I heard some steps behind me and it was Mother she had moved Serenity back and was eyeing the pony up and the pony got the message and backed up as me and serenity howled a goodbye and the rest of the pack joined in but that was out of instinct, Mother didn't join in because she was watching the mare get out of her territory and the rest of the day was uneventful.
