Son of a Wolf

Months passed before we were able to go on our first hunt as a pack and I was growing just like my fellow pups so I joined them on this momentous occasion.

I was poised as a lowly buck drank from a stream and we were about to pounce on our prey but he heard a cry from a female deer and ran towards it so me and my pack slowly walked towards it staying in the shadows we were all low to the ground and after a little walk we noticed that the female deer had gotten a hoof stuck in the home of a rabbit and had snapped her leg so he looked at each other and took the moment and pounced.

Me, Darkness and Mute were the first as I landed on the back of the buck and sank my teeth in the flesh on the back of his neck and I eventually reached bone and while I was doing this Darkness and Mute had bitten down onto the back legs and was very careful as to not get bucked by the buck after a little struggle I increased the pressure on the bite and heard a snap and the body of the buck went limp.

After the buck went limp we looked over at Serenity and Zeus and we see that they had easily taken down the injured deer and Serenity is allowing Zeus to take the first bite which is how the pack works as we allow the most dominant pup to get the first bite in of a fresh kill and after the 4 months it had been since meeting that Pegasus Serenity had become a much more playful pup as she started to play with more of us and not just Darkness she was starting to become friends with very member of the pack and she was also outside of hunting the most peaceful of the pack as she would chase bugs and birds around but would never hurt them but her favourite things were butterflies and she would chase them around for hours until mother would call her back.

We had our fill of deer that night and we brought some of the meat home to have later as we were no longer nursing from Mother so we were growing up and I noticed that I was a little smaller then my fellow pups but I didn't care because they were the only family I had ever known.

Winter was slowly approaching and the nights inside of the den were nicer as we would all sleep in a pile like when we were all tiny pups and it would keep us warm. Winter was a fun time for us pups as we could be more rough when we would play and we wouldn't get to hot, hunting was also very easy during this time as the snow would make our nearly silent paws even quieter and the kills were a lot quicker because of us not having to chase our prey because of our silence.

The winter passed and we were all approaching 1 year old and we were doing the usual when we got a visit from the Pegasus mare from before but she was still sporting a scared expression as she approached our den and when mother noticed she leapt down and displayed an aggressive posture with fangs bared and ears laid flat on the top of her head, the Pegasus sits down and takes a few deep breaths and me and Serenity notice her and we run and jump on her licking and nuzzling her as she is the only friend we have outside of our pack she is scared at first but when she feels the familar sensation of the tongues against her head she calms down and when she opens her eyes she notices the Mother has left her alone and gone back to her overwatch of the den.

The Pegasus looks once again at me and while stroking me is really curious about me as she keeps trying to communicate with me but I do not understand me and Mute comes over to join us but Zeus and Darkness stay at a distance as Darkness has always been a bit separate from the rest of us and Zeus is just trying to protect his siblings as he is the closest thing to an alpha male in this pack and him along with Mother are responsible for the wellbeing of the pack, the Pegasus keeps stroking us and I notice she is treating me differently from the rest of the pups so I whine and nudge her hoof with my snout and I want her to stroke like she is doing to my sister and she looks over at me and I know that she can feel that I want to be petted so she gives in as I lean in to the hoof and pant and after she strokes me few minutes I get up to go and play with Mute.

Fluttershy's POV
I returned to the wolf pack that saved me before winter and I remembered where it was because ever since I saw the pack of wolves I was curious about the young batpony colt, i don't care what anybody says about those batponies they are just ponies with small differences.

Why was this colt not talking and how long had this colt been there? Had he always been raised by wolves? To think there are parents who are that disgusting that they would abandon their son in the everfree forest at any age but as a foal that is just unforgivable.

The small look I had the last time I was there I knew he was getting treated as an equal which is not how he would be getting treated if he was with his parents, he was healthy and developing like he should and he will be a lot bigger compared to a normal foal as I read that batponies grow up quicker to help them hunt as their instincts are still very preditorial and that is why ponies are scared of them but why? Griffins where predators they are half eagle and half lion for celestia's sake but they can live fine with ponies so why not thestrals, sometimes I think that us ponies are the worst creature on this planet.

I shake my head and think back to the colt and notice that he is acting like a wolf so he must have been there his whole life I start to wonder if he could even be raised in ponyville as they tend to run away from things they do not understand and also the Mother would not be very likely to let him go so I am going to make sure that him and his pack will never be hurt.

I go up to the mother wolf and I ask her a question "um mrs wolf if you're okay with it could you move your pack closer to my cottage because I am worried for your pack's safety and I am curious about you and your pack" she eyes me suspiciously and proceeds to sniff around me for anything suspicious I allow her without sinking back as i need to look and feelmsure of my decesions for the Mother to treat me seriously.

Now I am close to her i can see she still has a few wounds from the timberwolf and I notice a couple are infected so I get my bag and grab some water and a cloth and start to wash one of the wounds and as soon as I apply pressure she flinch and bares her teeth at me but I remain calm and let her sniff the cloth and loom at her wound and she relaxes but still tenses up when I apply pressure which is to be expected as it must hurt as it has been infected but she must have attempted to clean it in a stream but I was using a very mild painkiller as to try to alleviate some of the pain that she was proberly feeling right at this time.

After I finish treating the Mother wolf she nuzzles me as a sign of appreciation and she barks out to her pack I don't exactly know what she was saying but I understood "kind, pony" and "safe with pack but live elsewhere" and she looks at me like she waiting to lead them somewhere and at that moment I realise they are going to move closer to me for the safety of her pups as I can heal if they are injured or unwell and i brighten up but i keep my composure as if i was to lose the trust of the mother i would most likely never get to the bottom of this.

I also knew that I was going to try and hide this colt and the wolves from my friends for as long as possible because they will react negatively to them.

Applejack was to headset on her views that ever since thestrals started to come back after nightmare moon was turnt back into princess Luna, she has not accepted them and will probably run the colt back into the everfree forest and they will never trust ponies again.

Rarity was too much of a drama queen she will just faint or act to brash and try to attack the poor colt if she got the chance.

Pinkie was not coming near them but with pinkie she probably knew I was here and had already planned the next 5 years of everyone's life. I swear that pony I am glad she likes everyone because if she didn't she would the greatest weapon in equestria.

Rainbow dash is too egotistical, she would fly in to try and save me or so would do something heroic like save the colt from the 'vicious, wild beasts keeping him hostage' plus like applied if she thinks one way she is very difficult to get on to a different idea but she is properly the one I would trust the most as I have known her longer then I have the known the other 4 so she might not be so easy to attack.

Twilight was the big worry with the amount of power she had and because she looks at the facts in books then what goes on around her. Another reason is because of her connections to all 3 of the other princesses one bad situation and these wolves will not be allowed near a pony settlement for as long as they live.
