3 years ago, a filly was born with the power of reading other ponies' thoughts. She hid this ability, fearing that she would become an outcast. Only one pony would talk to and come near her: Fluttershy. When asked about her parents, the little filly refused to speak of it, only stating that she never knew them. Fluttershy never pushed her. She understood fully.

A few years later, Fluttershy had to leave her best childhood friend in Cloudsdale, saying that she had to go because she had this... feeling that something important was going to happen.

She was right, and her friend knew this from probing around in her mind, trying to find out the real reason she had left.
