Ella shut the door behind her as she continued walking. She sighed deeply, taking in the sound of nature. The screams of her sisters and parents yelling at each other were still heard even though the door was closed. The voices were at least muffled.
She sat on her porch of the house she lived in. Ella stared off at the sun slowly falling lower in the sky. Soon enough the moon would rise.
Ella got up from the porch she sat on previously. Turning towards her garage, she spotted a certain teal bike she loved. Walking towards it, she smiled.
Soon enough after her struggled of dragging it out of its place in the garage, Ella sat on her bike after kicking the kick stand up and off the ground. She placed her feet on the pedals and pushing down one of her feet.
The bike began to move. Wind danced around her as she slowly got faster and faster. Ella's hair flung behind herself as she rode down a hill.
A smile broke free on her face. No longer pedaling, she stood up on her bike. The sun blazed through the trees as she reached the peak.
A sigh of newfound relief filled the silent air. Ella lowered herself back on her bike and she continued pedaling.
The sight of her house broke the smile on her face. A sad, almost miserable look filled her face. She didn't have to to back, did she? At least not yet...
Her parents would wonder where she was. Then there would be even more fighting. That's the last thing Ella wanted.
Sighing, she slowly pedaled back to her house. Once the bike had been put away, Ella opened the door.
The fight had died down, but her parents were glaring at Ella's eldest sister, Lynae. Her other sister, Chloe, was nowhere to be seen. Probably upstairs, she presumed.
Ella's mother spotted her youngest child closing the door. "Where have you been?"
"I went out to ride my bike because you guys were fighting," Ella promptly answered.
Her mother sneered at the mention of the fight earlier. "Ask next time, Ella. You can't go anywhere you want without asking. Therefore, your IPad is gone for the next few days until you learn to ask."
Ella's jaw fell. "That's not fair! All I did was ride my bike for a half an hour!"
Her mother shook her head apologetically. "I'm sorry, Ella. But you need to learn to ask. I have no way of knowing where you are."
"Then why don't you get me a phone! Everyone else at school has one!"
"You're too young!"
"I'm thirteen!" Ella shouted.
"Exactly," her mom stated before turning to the TV. "This conversation is over."
Ella groaned in anger before stopping off. She ran up the stairs and into her room. The door was shut behind her and Ella flopped on her bed.
"Not fair..." Ella muttered as she stared off into the ceiling. She turned her head and faced the wall. Groaning, she turned again and again before sitting up.
Her eyes scanned the room lazily for something to do. Ella's eyes landed on a black sketchbook with a pencil thrown next to it.
Shrugging, she grabbed the sketchbook off of the floor and opened it to an unused page near the back. "Geez, I really do draw too much," Ella observed.
She sat in her bed for a few moments before deciding what to draw. Ella's pencil met the paper as she began to sketch.
Ella sighed as she drew the last line in her piece. The picture held a person that looked a bit like Ella herself, only difference being there was a pair of wings upon her back. The girl held a fierce pose, the wing dancing through her hair.
She gazed at the sketch with a wanting gaze. Ella's lips moved, but no sound was able to come out. Her attention had focused on the window.
There had been a flash of light streaming across the sky. Ella moved towards the window and opened it. Another flash of light streamed through the night's shadow.
"A shooting star!" Ella exclaimed excitingly.
"You can make wishes upon shooting stars, Ella. Did you know that?"
Ella's mother's voice rang throughout her head. The scene began to play inside of her mind.
"Really? Do they come true?"
Her mother giggled. "Only if you truly want them to. God blesses us with our wishes if we ask politely enough."
The present Ella sighed. Staring at the sky, she began her wish. "God, the stars, anyone and anything. If you can hear me, can you grant me my wish?"
Silence filled the room as Ella stopped talking. She glanced back at her sketchbook opened to her latest art. "I...I wish that I could just fly away from all of this, you know? To have wings and be able to fly far enough from my family's fighting."
Saying as much as needed, Ella sighed and closed her window. She lay down on her bed and closed her eyes. soon enough light snores filled the bedroom.
A bright light awakened Ella from her sleep. She opened her eyes to see what it was. The light was coming from her room.
Ella gasped as the light engulfed her body. Her screams rang throughout the house, waking up the rest of her family.
Her mother came barreling through the door, her dad close behind. "Ella!"
Ella tried to reach her hand out of the bright light to reach her mom, but couldn't. "Mom! Help!"
Her mom tried to pull her daughter out of the light, but was unable to. The light began to grow smaller and smaller. At last minute, Ella's oldest sister opened the door and saw the light.
"Ella!!!!" Lynae dove onto the bed and at the light.
"Lynae!" their parents called.
The light disappeared as soon as it absorbed Ella's sister as well, leaving a broken hearted mother and father who had just witness two of three daughters get trapped in magic.
"Ella..."
"Ella, wake up..."
"ELLA!"
Ella's eyes fluttered open to see an unfamiliar figure towering over her. The figure gave a smile of relief. "Oh thank goodness you're okay!"
"Uh... How can you talk? You are a pony..." Ella said with a confused look. She tried to stretch her fingers and crack them, but found that they wouldn't move.
Finally, Ella looked down. She no longer had hands and fingers. No, she had hooves the color of light blue. "Wha?"
The pony next to her spoke before she could. "Ella, it's me, Lynae! I think we somehow got stuck in this world of ponies..."
"Lynae? Why did this happen? I'm scared...what about mother and daddy?" Ella attempted to get up and hug her sister, but didn't know how to walk on four hooves and only fell.
"I don't know, Ella. But maybe they can help us." Lynae pointed a hoof at a purple pony with a baby dragon next to her. She seemed to be looking for something.
"Hello? Is there somepony there?" she called.
"Hello? Can you help us? We are lost!" Lynae called.
The pony lit her horn and followed the sound. "Are you two okay? It's the middle of the night! Please, come to my castle. I'll get you warmed up."
She wrapped a wing around Ella, being the smaller pony. The winged and horned pony gently grabbed her and pulled Ella onto her back.
"Thanks," was all Lynae and Ella could say before the pony and dragon swiftly took them to the warmth of their castle.
Author's Note
Hope you enjoyed my new story! I can't wait for the next chapter! Leave your thoughts down below on how it's going!
The purple pony who had taken Ella and Lynae in arrived at her castle. Ella had fallen alseep, and the dragon was struggling to continue holding the half asleep Lynae.
"Spike, take our guests to the guest room," the purple pony said to the dragon.
Spike, as she called him, nodded and struggled to hold both of the guests but managed to stagger off. The winged and horned pony sat down in a seat placed near the wall and thought about what had happened.
She heard a loud blast that sounded like magic, went outside and found two ponies who seemed really confused. Maybe they did a teleportation spell together? No, that unicorn didn't seem powerful enough. All of the most powerful ponies in Equestria she had already met.
Maybe they were time travelers. It was a possibility, but unlikely. The pony sighed. "What am I supposed to do now? Let them stay in my castle if they don't have a home? I don't know if the unicorn is the pegasus's mom, but if she is..."
The pony groaned in irritation. Spike finally returned to find her faced the wall and banging her head on it.
"Whoa, Twilight! What are you doing?" Spike asked.
The pony called Twilight shrugged and curling up in a ball. "I don't know, Spike. I'm not sure what to do with our guests or why and how they ended up outside in the middle of the night."
Spike patted her back and spoke. "It's gonna be okay, Twilight. How about when they wake up we ask them what happened?"
Twilight nodded with a small smile. "You're right, Spike. That's a great place to start. Now to just...wait."
Ella groaned and stirred in her sleep. She flipped onto her back, but a jolt of pain surged through her back when she did, awakening her.
"Ow!"
Ella shot up to relive the pain, and to her luck, the pain instantly stopped. She yawned and went to crack her fingers, but found she wasn't able to.
Ella finally looked down at what was supposed to be her hands and two legged body, but was shocked at what she saw.
It was completely different. And so she screamed.
Her scream had awoken another figure in the place she was in. The figure called Twilight burst through the room, which only made Ella scream louder.
Her screaming had stopped when Twilight’s horn glowed and her mouth was clamped shut. A magical bubble formed around Ella as well, stopping her from attacking the alicorn.
“Why are you screaming?” Twilight asked.
She removed the spell that prevented Ella from talking and allowed her to speak. “Stay away, pony! I don’t know why I’m here, but make me human again you weird fairytale creature!”
Twilight looked offended. “Excuse me?”
Ella was curled up as much as she could figure out how to and was as far away from Twilight as possible with fear on her face. She didn’t say anything, though.
Twilight took a slight step forward and spokie again. “Where are you from?”
“E-earth,” the pony in question replied.
Twilight gave a confused stare. “Earth? That can’t be possible. Princess Celesta said she closed that portal thousands of years ago.”
“Who?”
Twilight sighed. “Are you and the pony with you both from Earth?”
Ella nodded. “She’s my sister.”
“How did you get here?”
Ella had to think about that. “I’m not entirely sure. I made a wish on a wishing star to have wings, and then I got sent here. Wherever here is, exactly.”
“You’re in Equestria; a kingdom of ponies on a planet called Equus. You’ve been sent to an alternate dimension as far as I know.”
Ella’s eyes widened. “Will I be able to get home?”
Twilight shook her head. “I’m afraid the princess said there is no way back to Earth.”
Ella was quiet for a moment. Suddenly, tears began to fall from her eyes. “No...NO!!!”
If it wasn’t for the bubble around Ella, Twilight would have been toast. The former was lashing and punching the bubble so hard that she began to cry harder as her hooves turned from their light blue to red.
Eventually Ella had to stop because her hooves were aching so badly. Her tears had not stopped, and were beginning to fill the bubble.
“It’s going to be okay...uh...what did you say your name was again?”
Ella sniffed but replied. “I’m Ella. And before you ask, my sister’s name is Lynae.”
Twilight nodded. “It’s going to be okay, Ella. Guess what. I’ll try to find a way back home first thing after breakfast. How does that sound?”
Ella’s stomach growled before she could respond. “Uh...I think my brain thinks both sound great.”
Twilight laughed and released the spell on Ella. “C’mon, let’s go get something to eat.”
Ella nodded and went to follow Twilight out the door, only to fall on her muzzle. “Ow...”
Twilight sighed. “Right. You don’t know anything about how to walk like this.”
She levitated Ella off of the ground, to Ella’s surprise. “Whoa! Let go of me!”
Ella squirmed in Twilight’s grasp, which to the latter’s annoyance. When she failed to be let go of, Ella grunted and folded her hooves.
“I hate magic. It’s letting you do things that I can’t do.”
“True, but you can fly, Ella,” Twilight replied.
“What?” Ella turned her head to see wings on her back. Her mood instantly got better, and a smile formed on her face. “I have wings!”
“I guess that’s why you got sent here. You wished to be able to fly, and now you can!” Twilight exclaimed.
Ella smiled. “Yeah...I guess you’re right.”
