Chapter 37: GOOD ENDING – Part 2 the final stand+epilogue

Earth – The Final Stand

The Titan roared, its newly hardened rock-like shell glistening in the firelight, its soulless eyes locked onto the survivors.

Dan, gripping his combat axe, felt his muscles scream with exhaustion. They had fought for so long, and still, the nightmare refused to die.

Then—

The mirror behind them shimmered violently, and a wave of golden light erupted from its depths.

Twilight Sparkle and her friends charged onto the battlefield, their eyes blazing with determination.

Princess Celestia and Luna soared overhead, their horns glowing with raw divine energy.

Rainbow Dash zipped into the air, cracking her hooves. "Alright, let’s wreck this thing!"

Applejack slammed her hooves together. "Time to end this nightmare for good!"

Twilight’s horn pulsed as she looked at Sam, Dan, and the others.

“Get ready! We’re doing this together!”

Equestria Joins the Fight

Celestia’s voice rang out like a war horn.

“FOCUS FIRE!”

Lomo, back at full power, streaked through the sky, unleashing blinding plasma blasts at the Titan’s armored hide.

Tsunami, his Apache battered but still airborne, opened fire with his last machine gun rounds, peppering the beast’s exposed joints.

Dan and Sam fought side by side, blades and bullets tearing through the monster’s weakened defenses.

Then, the Elements of Harmony ignited.

Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity lifted into the air, their bodies glowing with pure magic.

A rainbow of energy swirled, growing brighter and stronger, aimed directly at the Titan’s core.

The monster shrieked, sensing true destruction approaching.

It lunged forward—

And the Elements of Harmony fired.

The Purge of the Infection

The rainbow beam struck the Titan dead center, piercing through its hardened shell like it was made of paper.

The creature screamed, its body splitting apart, the billions of infected souls trapped inside it finally set free.

Then—

The magic didn’t stop.

It surged outward, spreading across the entire world, wiping out every trace of the infection—all zombies, all mutated creatures, all remnants of the plague—GONE.

The world was finally clean.

The nightmare was finally over

The Aftermath – The Last Humans

As the dust settled, the gang stood together, looking over the ruined world.

It was silent.

For the first time in years, there were no screams, no monsters, no death lurking in the shadows.

Tsunami landed his Apache, stepping out, breathing heavily. “…Did we do it?”

Lomo, checking her suit readings, exhaled. “Yeah. We did.”

Sam, gripping his rifle, looked at the horizon. “The infection is gone.”

But the world was empty.

Trixie’s ears flattened. “How many… are left?”

Twilight, her magic scanning the Earth, frowned. “Roughly… four million humans remain.”

Dan’s stomach twisted. “That’s it?”

Celestia nodded. “Humanity has been… reduced to a single nation’s worth of people.”

Lomo sighed, rubbing her forehead. “So, we won… but we’re still losing.”

Sam took a breath. “No.”

They all looked at him.

“We’re starting over.”

Pops, sitting on a damaged jeep, grinned. “That’s right. We got a clean slate now. No more infected. No more running.”

Dan smirked. “Just us. The last of humanity.”

Tsunami chuckled. “Heh. Just means we gotta make it count.”

Trixie looked at Dan. “…What now?”

Dan turned to Twilight. “Now? We go home.”

Twilight smiled.

And with that—the gang stepped through the mirror, leaving Earth behind.

The war was over.

And their new lives were just beginning.

Meanwhile, in Equestria…

As the mirror shimmered, the gang stepped into Twilight’s castle, taking their first breath of clean air in what felt like a lifetime.

Dan stretched. “…It’s weird. No gunfire. No screaming.”

Pops grinned. “No zombies tryin’ to eat us.”

Sam sighed, finally allowing himself to relax.

Tsunami chuckled. “Yeah. Still not used to… peace.”

Lomo’s suit powered down, and she collapsed onto the floor. “Wake me up in a week.”

Celestia approached them, smiling warmly.

“You are all heroes. Welcome home.”

Dan looked at Trixie, who was staring at him.

She took a deep breath, then—without warning—she grabbed his collar, yanking him down into a kiss.

The room went silent.

Dan blinked. “Huh.”

Trixie smirked. “I still hate you.”

Dan chuckled. “Liar.”

Tsunami groaned. “Oh great, it’s official now.”

Lomo, half-asleep, mumbled, “Called it.”

The gang laughed together, for the first time in years.

Their war was over.

And now?

They had a new world to build.

Together.

Epilogue: The New Beginning

In the years that followed, the last of humanity worked alongside Equestria, rebuilding civilization from the ground up.

New cities rose.

Old wounds healed.

And from the ashes of the old world, something better was born.

Dan, standing on a balcony overlooking their new home, took a deep breath.

He wasn’t a soldier anymore.

He wasn’t a survivor anymore.

He was alive.

And for the first time in forever, that was enough.

Trixie stood beside him.

“…Thinking about the past?”

Dan smirked. “Nah. Thinking about the future.”

Trixie leaned against him, watching the sunset.

And for once—

It wasn’t the end of the world.

It was just the beginning.
