Bored Rainbow Dash is Bored

Night had befallen Rainbow Dash's home. This was prime gaming time. Barely able to hide her excitement, she made her way down to the basement where her video games were. Her parents were away on vacation, so she could turn up the volume just short of disturbing the peace. Just the way she likes it.

She turned on the television, then the console.

She smiled with anticipation, and checked her friends list.

SunShimPwny is Offline. Rainbow sighed. That's right, she's at work right now. If someone had told Rainbow Dash that she and Sunset Shimmer would become close friends over a year ago, they'd be given a bloody nose for their trouble. Rainbow Dash despised Sunset Shimmer. She was a real fucking bitch to everyone at CHS., Rainbow thought as she remembered the old Sunset. But ever since the Twilight from that other world came over and we zapped her with an awesome rainbow laser, Sunset's changed. For the best. Rainbow found herself feeling sympathy for Sunset when she struggled to prove herself reformed to the school. After the Battle of the Bands, Sunset and the girls became inseparable. Except for that Anon-A-Miss bullshit. We should have stood by Sunset the whole time. At least it's over.

Scrolling further down her friends list, Rainbow Dash found Applejack.

FarmGurlAJ is offline. Damn. She's probably already asleep for her early morning chores. She and I compete with each other all the time. Every day we try to one-up each other, but we also bring out the best in each other. I guess she's like my rival or something.

Rainbow scrolled down further.

Fashionista_4_life is offline. Ah well. Rarity hardly plays video games anyway. She spends more time making dresses and such. Not that I'm complaining, though. She makes some pretty cool stuff. I just don't like wearing dresses, is all.

Flutterbutter is offline. That's no big surprise. She doesn't play video games all that much either. Even when she does, she never wears her headset. She's always been a shy one, so that's no surprise either. Anyway, moving on...

P0nk4_P0 is offline. Huh. I thought Pinkie'd be on tonight. She's usually up as late as I am. She always brings fun wherever she goes. Her parties kick some serious ass! I don't suppose...

Twi_Sparky73 is offline. Of course not. Twi's been busy with a lot of things. Ever since I told her she could read anything she wanted during summer on the last day of school. She still hangs out with us, but she also still reads a lot.

I wonder if I could convince the Twilight from the other world to play a video game next time she comes here. I wonder what she'd think of Tirek's Revenge? I don't think they have video games there from what I was told.

Rainbow Dash checked her phone. She was unable to hear anything in the basement because of the volume.

Rainbow grinned widely. "About damn time!" she said.

Rainbow Dash cracked her knuckles and her neck. "It's go time!" she yelled as she turned the volume to the max.

After a near-deafeningly loud couple of hours, Rainbow got a text.

Rainbow blinked in surprise.

Rainbow Dash smiled and rolled her eyes.

Rainbow Dash sighed and stretched. All right, now it's time to take on the rest of the world!

Rainbow Dash had a gleam in her eyes. "Oh, so the Crusaders wanna play? Bring it!"

A while later, Rainbow Dash had fallen into dead last. Her once blue face was now as red as Apple Bloom's hair. "Are you fucking kidding me?!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. How in the goddamn fuck did I end up in last place?! Which one of you fucking assholes are cheating? I know one of you has to be cheating. I'm not having a fucking off night, you're just using hacks, you pieces of shit! Fuming, Rainbow ran outside and channeled her geode. Running at near-top speed, she ran circles around her home. "FUUUUUUUUUUUCK!" she yelled, unwittingly creating what would be an urban legend for years to come. The urban legend about a shrieking demon that circled houses, cursing the heavens for its undeserved fate.

When she finished, Rainbow Dash returned to the basement and took a deep breath. "God, I needed that." She took a drink of water, then went up to her room.

Grabbing her guitar, she started to play one of her three secret tunes. Tunes that she might someday share with her closest friends, but nobody else. Not even her parents. These tunes were secret because they affected Rainbow Dash in different ways. Playing her tune, Rainbow Dash concentrated on the chords. She felt the sadness and lamentation of the tune she played and slowly descended into weeping until all she could do was desperately clutch her guitar as she cried all the tears she had. I may not be into sappy stuff, she thought, but even I know that everyone needs a good cry every now and then. She grabbed a tissue and blew her nose. She looked at the time. "Huh. Guess I better go to bed." she stretched and yawned, putting on her pajamas. She laid in bed and turned her bedroom light off.
