Shining Armor looked at the Castel of Friendship and sighed.

"I'm sure they already have plans," he told Cadence as she dragged him along.

"Oh hush, I've waited long enough to hear all the juicy details about their relationship!"

"You just found out about it this morning!" Shining complained as he was dragged up the steps "Just let them have their peace." Cadence looked back at him

"You just want to go home and be lazy."

"We just spent a good hour waiting for the Cloudsdale police force to take that Rich dick and his elite team of punks off our hands for us, followed by two more hours searching his home and associated businesses for Ether potions and their ingredients " Shining rubbed his temple "I just want to go to bed." Cadence pulled Shining to her.

"Honey if you do this little thing for me, later I'll..." Cadence pulled Shining to her and whispered something in his ear. Shining froze for a second.

"Let's get going," He said, now Dragging Cadence, "their privacy isn't gonna invade itself." Cadence rolled her eyes

"Always works" She smiled as she moved in front of him and knocked on the door. Starlight opened it and the two were hit with a multitude of delectable smells.

"Oh hey," Starlight said, "Here to invoke the power of romance?"

"You better believe it," Cadence said as she and Shining walked in,

"This way then," She said, and with that, the two followed her to the kitchen, and the three watched as Spike and Spitfire along with several Wonderbolts were working together to make a meal. Spike was using the stove and seemed to be flipping burgers. Spitfire was reading a book entitled "101 Gem Recipes" and using a specially made knife to cut Several different varieties of gem, though, from the look and smell of things, this was not the only thing they were both doing. Spitfire was the first to notice them.

"OH!" She snapped her book shut and Spike jumped and turned on the spot.

"What? Wh...oh hey guys" Spike said waving at them, "We're just making some grub."

"Smells delicious," Shining said as he walked into the large Kitchen, It had everything, from a Microwave to a Deep fryer. The latter of which was being operated by Soarin, laying next to him on a counter was a large pan full of French fries, Blaze was cutting several potatoes into sticks. Rainbow Dash was leaning lazily next to the Microwave. Fleetfoot was helping Spike at the stove. and Thunderlane was rooting through a Spice cabinet, Soarin waved at Shining as he removed the french fries from the Deep fryer and dumped them into a pan next to him.

"Afternoon," He said as Thunderlane gave a cry of success and ran next to him with several spices.

"Oh man, these are gonna be the bomb once I'm done with 'em," He said as he started applying the seasoning while simultaneously flipping the fries around with a spatula. Blaze presented Soarin with his next batch to fry. Spike and Fleetfoot were busy making sure the burgers were cooked threw, though Spike kept looking back at Spitfire and looking her over with a bemused expression. Spitfire had put down her book and walked to the Princess, shaking her hand.

"It's a pleasure to see you again, thank you so much for arriving at the Academy when you did" Spitfire immediately turned to Starlight.

"Did you se...?"

"Yeah, yeah" Starlight interjected "I set up the table and have the requested drinks ready. The Microwave beeped and Rainbow pulled out a cup of instant noodles.

"See you chumps at the table" She called as she walked out. Cadence watched her leave then turned back to Spitfire.

"She isn't eating with you?" she asked

"She said we were too slow," Spike called out, he gave a mighty huff "Well she ain't getting one of my burgers." He Flipped several of them and Fleetfoot removed a few and put out a few more hay blocks to replace them. next to the two was a plate of burgers, as Spike flipped Fleetfoot seasoned them and added them to the pile. Spitfire returned to her cutting board and Starlight showed Cadence and Shining to the table.

"You set a place for us?" Shining asked

"I had a feeling you'd show up," Starlight said lighting her horn and teleporting a magazine into her hand. The Cover was the Pocky-fry picture. "You're subscribed to this magazine aren't you?"

"I am, But how did you..."

"I get around," Starlight said as she teleported the magazine away.

Back in the kitchen

Spike and Fleetfoot finished making the last Burger, and after making sure they were properly wrapped, they moved to help the others, Fleetfoot moved to help with the fries, and Spike Went to help Spitfire. Spitfire was chopping the last of the gems when Spike made his presence known. Spitfire smiled at him.

"I'm making a Gem salad for you," she said as she cut up the last of the Gems. "How's it looking?" Spike looked at her selection and smiled.

"Look's like an explosion of flavor in front of me" He smiled, then before either of them could react his tongue shot out and made for a gem before it got anything Spike grabbed it and shoved it in his mouth. "Sorry, reflex!" He said quickly. as he took a step back "I'm not to be trusted near gems!" he declared as he turned and ran to the sink. " After I wash my hands I'll go into the Pantry and grab the buns for the Hayburgers." as he ran off Spitfire watched and giggled.

"Oh my, I didn't know his tongue was so long...something to have fun with later" She smiled as she turned back to making the Gem salad. After a few minutes, the table was set with food, and everypony was enjoying their dinner. Thunderlane and Soarin were trying to tease Rainbow with their dinner but to no effect. Starlight was striking up a friendship with Blaze and Fleetfoot. Cadence and Shining were sitting next to Spike and Spitfire, who was again too busy staring at Spike to eat.

"So how long have you two been dating?" Cadence asked.

"We're not dating" Spike defied. Shining raised an eyebrow and held up the Magazine Starlight had given them.

"Then what's up with the picture?"

"It was taken out of context" Spike replied, then raised his voice "THANKS RAINBOW!"

"Your welcome" She called back. Cadence gave Spike a hard look.

"You expect the Princess of love to fall for that?" She asked. Spike raised his finger in objection then stopped and leaned casually against the table,

"You gonna eat? Or are you just content to stare at me?" He asked Spitfire who jumped a little at this.

"I'm eating!" Spitfire defined, Spike looked at her untouched plate.

"You expect me to believe that?" he asked, Spitfire turned.

"I do." She said, Spike, leaned down, Took a Fry, and Put half of it in his mouth. without hesitation, Spitfire took it in her mouth and pulled it out of his mouth. while she munched on it, Cadence cleared her throat and Spike jumped.

"Out of context hu?" She asked with a smile "Seems you were just worried about her not eating?" Spike's face turned red.

"Not my fault she won't eat." He muttered as he put another fry in his mouth, just as Spitfire bit into it, A Camera flashed and the two jumped. Spike turned towards Rainbow, who had a guilty face.

"Come on, I got good money for that first picture." She said as she got up and bolted out of the room. Spike watched her run and looked at Cadence, who was smiling.

"You look so cute together," she said.

"I still think it's weird" Shining muttered as he watched Spike take a bite of Spitfire's burger so she'd eat it. After a minute Spitfire finally started eating her own food. As she ate Cadence smiled and lowered her voice so only she could hear her.

"What was that about?" She asked

"It's nice to see that he cares" Spitfire replied as she ate. "And it's nice to be the center of attention, that has yet to ever fail." Cadence smiled

"I know the feeling," She said as he ate her food. As the party ate Spitfire leaned over.

"This doesn't count as our date by the way," She said, Spike looked over at her.

"I figured." he said as he ate his gem salad "But major props, this is a good salad." after a while, everypony had finished up and said goodbye for the night. the last ones to go were Cadence and Shining.

"It's so nice to see you finally found a special somepony", Cadence said as she hugged Spike goodbye. As she walked out the door she called out.

"I'm expecting a niece or nephew!" Spike froze and Spitfire grinned.

"You do owe me." She said

"I don't owe you that much!" Spike shot back as Spitfire hugged him goodbye.

"See you tomorrow Ground leader." She said as she closed the door. Spike sat in silence for a second and turned to Starlight.

"They left us to clean everything by ourselves." He noted as Starlight sighed

"Let's go, this mess isn't gonna clean itself," the rest of their evening was spent cleaning up the dinner mess.
