“Alright Crystal, first you need to spread your wings out like mine are now.” Rainbow said.

Crystal moved the muscles in her wings and they slowly expanded to full length. “Good.” Rainbow said. “Now start flapping them.”

Crystal nodded and began flapping her wings but she wasn’t lifting into the air. “You have to flap them harder.” Rainbow called. Crystal flapped her harder and she began slowly lifting into the air. “Yeah Crystal!” Iris cried.

“Now let’s start we moving forward. Just lean forward and keep flapping your wings.” Rainbow said. Crystal did what Rainbow said and she began flying towards her... slowly and steady. “Good. Now onto to steering.”

As the days went by Crystal became better at using her wings. Though she couldn’t go as fast as Rainbow yet, she was improving, much to their friend joy. However, Rainbow began to take things a bit too far.

She said that they should practice at night as well. Korra and the tigers didn’t like the sound of that because even though Crystal was raised by wolves, who were nocturnal, she pefered to sleep at night. Rainbow said she’ll get use to it in no time. The others weren’t so sure that would happen.

One night, it was pouring rain and Rianbow and Crystal were flying over a nearby forest. “R-r-Rainbow are s-s-sure this w-w-was a good i-i-idea?” Crystal asked as she shivered badly in the cold wind and rain. Rainbow didn’t seem bothered the rainstorm at all.

“No way! This will help you learn to fly in tough weather.” Rainbow explained. “Let’s get a move on.”

Crystal sighed and pushed on. Just then, a huge gust of wind came and blew Crystal off course. “Crystal!” Rainbow cried. She rushed after her. Crystal tried to straighten out but the wind was too strong and she crashed with THUD!

Rainbow landed near where we crashed. “Crystal! Are you alright?” she frantically asked. Crystal groaned as she got up slowly. Leaves were all over her body and she was dripping wet and her shivering had grown worse. “C-c-can we g-g-go home?” Crystal asked, hugging herself to keep warm. “Okay.” Rainbow answered.

The two walked back home that night. When they entered the castle you can bet Korra, Mako, Iris, Ali, Mika and San were frantic when they saw Crystal covered in dirt and leaves. Korra told her to go get cleaned up and go off to bed immediately.

When she went off, Rainbow told them what happened and they scolded her for letting Crystal flying I such dangerous weather. “Sorry, I won’t let something like this happen again.” She promised. The others were glad to hear that.

Soon, Crystal was in her bedroom, all cleaned and fast asleep with her pokémon and Spark by her side.

The next morning, Crystal woke up with a pounding headache and stuffy nose. She groaned as she rolled on her side trying to get back to sleep. Her movements woke up Litleo, Shinx and Spark. They both looked at their owner confused until she showed them her flustered face. They cried in shock, which altered Iris. She burst into the room. “Guys! What happened?” she asked.

When she layed her eyes on Crystal, she gasped in shock. Her hair was all over the place, her nose was bright red and her flustered face was covered in sweat. All in all Crystal looked horrible!

“Crystal what happened?” Iris asked.

“I don’t... cough cough.... know.” Crystal replied in a congested voice. Iris ran to get her parents and soon they were both in the room. Korra palced a hand on Crystals’ forehead. “You have a high fever.” Korra said. “I think you’ve got the flu.”

Crystal sneezed and coughed. “You’ll have to stay home from school for a couple days.” Mako said. Crystal nodded and tried to get back to sleep.

“Litleo.”

“Shinx.”

“Oh, don’t worry you guys, Crystal will be fine in a few days.” Korra reassured. The pokémon nodded. Iris went off to get ready for school while Korra and Mako stayed with Crystal.

“Mako, can you go get Crystal some medicine?” Korra asked. Mako nodded and went to the bathroom to get the medicine. Crystal coughed and sneezed and Mako came back with the cold and flu medicine.

“Here.” he said. Korra took the bottle from him and opened it and poured a spoonful of medicine. Crystal covered herself in the covers, not wanting to take her medicine.

“Come on Crystal, you have to take the medicine.” Korra pleaded. Crystal poked her head from the covers and reluctantly nodded. Korra smiled and fed the spoonful to Crystal. Crystal gagged at the taste of the medicine. Korra and Mako laughed and Crystal gave them a straight look. “Now you get some sleep okay?” Mako said.

Crystal nodded and soon dozed off and Korra, Mako, Litleo, Shinx and Spark exited the bedroom.

Hours later, Iris and her friends came to the palace. Iris told her friend about Crystal and they all wanted to see her. They went to her bedroom and saw her sleeping peacefully. “She’s cute when she sleeps.” Akari stated. The others chuckled and Iris went over to the bed. "Crystal, wake up."

Crystal opened her eyes and saw her friends. "Guys." she said weakly. "What are you.. cough cough.. doing here?"

"Iris told us you were sick, so we came to check on you." Gallent stated. Jewel smiled. She was very lucky to have such great friends. Shinx and Litleo punched on the bed and licked Jewel's face. "Don't worry, you two, I'll be fine." Jewel reassured.

"Do you need anything?" Gallent asked.

"What ever it is, we'll get in a jiffy." Hiro added.

Jewel shook her head. "I'll think I'll just rest." she said.

"Okay." Iris replied. "We'll let you rest." Iris and her friends left the room and Jewel fell asleep with Shinx and Litleo by her side.

Two days passed until Jewel's cold finally left her. Shinx and Litleo were very happy to see their owner up and running again. Her friends got the work that she missed over the days and she completed all of it and handed it in on the day she came back.

"I'm glad you're better, Jewel." Mai stated.

"Yeah." Gallent added. "We were worried about you."

Jewel smiled at her friends. "Well, I'm better now." Iris and her friends hugged their friend and she giggled. They were just happy to have Jewel healthy again.
