The Tale of the Timberwolf
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIn was in the dead of night, a group of ponies were venturing into the Everfree Forest. They were only there to get a feel for the so-called scariness of the forest. However, what they didn't know was that they were being stalked by a timberwolf. The twiggy wolf was growling and snarling to itself and it waited to attack them.
One of the group members, a young mare, was whimpering in fear. "Is this safe? The Everfree Forest is known for its timberwolves," she tells the other group members. They gently brushed her warnings off.
"Relax, Berry. We haven't seen one timberwolf yet. They're probably asleep," the leader of the group tells Berry. Berry is such a foal! We probably shouldn't have even brought her along! He thought angrily. He wanted to let Berry die in their places if a timberwolf does shows itself.
Berry then heard a snarl behind her and she froze. The timberwolf wanted to see if she would make a decent meal. The timberwolf growled as it walked up closer to her. Berry noticed that her friends were leaving her, but she didn't want the timberwolf to attack her. The timberwolf brushed its twiggy head against's Berry's side as its rough tongue came out to lick Berry's face. Berry expected to be eaten, however, she was surprised when the timberwolf started to growl affectionately at her. She had never studied this sort of behavior with timberwolves. Other creatures maybe, but not a timberwolf. A timberwolf isn't known to be affectionate. When the timberwolf saw the leader, a burning hatred ran through the wolf and it ran towards the stuck-up stallion.
A scream of pain erupted from the stallion as the timberwolf started to eat and gnaw on the stallion's bones. The other group except for one member screamed in horror. The non screaming mare just looked at the stallion in disgust. That is what you deserve, Buckle Buck. She thought. Berry gazed at the mare, who closed her eyes when she noticed that Berry was staring at her.
They ran back to Ponyville to tell the police of the new bloodied body.
