Due to this a group called The Slave Traders often searches the world for them, they catch them and train them to become slaves or vassals for the inhabitants of this world. We're not really considered scavengers, more like cleaners or janitors. We roam the world on regular bases when a clean up is in the process, the clean up is what we call it when the worlds are being emptied into our worlds. We check the items and see what is useable and what can be repaired, stuff that is permanently broken gets separated into a recycle section and a dump pile section. The dump pile becomes new lands in an area called the Scrap Lands, after several months stuff there can become new lands which allow our world to keep growing to accommodate all the stuff that flows into our world. The recycled section can be used to help make new stuff or repair other stuff, useable stuff is either sold off or is kept if we find them handy or interesting.
If this world didn't exist then the worlds that connect to this world will overflow and eventually destroy themselves, they are not aware of it but the worlds that we empty can fill up with too many stuff and potentially kill their own lands if we don't remove said stuff. Dead or dying lands can't revive in their worlds so they come here to be revived, this in turns allows their world to regenerate a new part of the world that has been removed. While our world does grow in size to accommodate the amount that flows in it has it's own safety feature, once the world grows to a certain size it gives birth to another world, when it does this the current world technically splits in half allowing both to grow as they clean the worlds.

If the Overflow World has a permanent connection to a certain world, then you can count on most of the portals from that world to open in Blank Slatelands near the first connecting portal but even they can have the occasional rogue portal.
