I smiled as our nervous half-dragon friend, Ember approached behind us. She asked nervously “Are you sure you want me to be here? I am known to scare people.”

I laughed “Most of the people who come here come from my school, they are used to much worse like the time I turned into a evil She-Demon.”

Pinkie smiled “Or the time when 3 evil sirens mind-controlled our school. They are not bad anymore though.”

Ember smiled “Okay, I guess weird is normal around here.”

We entered Sugarcube Corner, I smiled as I saw Vinyl Scratch happily bobbing her head to music from her headphones. We took a seat at our usual table. I asked “So what do you like to do?”

Ember smiled “Well, I like flying and cooking as well as a game of chess on occasion.”

Pinkie smiled “We should bake a cake sometime, I love cakes especially cupcakes. Oooh what do you like to eat, is it ice-cream, chocolate, maybe….” I planted a kiss on her cheek causing her to silently rest on my shoulder.

I smiled “I got her wrapped around my finger.”

Ember chuckled “You truly do.”

I asked “Why are you still disguising yourself?”

Ember scowled “We half-dragons are hunted because of what we are.”

I frowned “That’s horrible, you are still a living thing and deserve proper respect.”

Ember smiled “I wish everyone thought like you.”

I smiled “It’s thanks to my friends that I am here, they have shown me respect even after my demon incident and helped me become better.”

Ember asked “Um, your girlfriend is still dazed.”

I whispered in her ear “Friend time.”

Pinkie bounced up and down in her chair “Hello, I’m Pinkie Pie.”

I smiled “Pinkie can you get us some cupcakes?”

Pinkie smiled “I’ll be right back.” I counted on my finger up to five and she was back carrying a platter of cupcakes.”

Ember stared at the table as I smiled “Try one.” Ember cautiously took a bite, her eyes rolled back into her skull as she ate. I smiled until I noticed two large guys in wearing black suits and ties walk in, my empathetic powers told me there was something off about them.

I frowned as they sat at a table nearby glaring at Ember. Pinkie asked “What’s wrong?”

I whispered “Those guys are glaring at Ember, they may be the hunters we talked about.”

Pinkie nodded and whispered “So what do we do?”

I frowned “We wait until they make the first move.” Pinkie frowned as we watched cautiously as they kept glaring at our friend who was happily devouring cupcakes. We both noticed them talking into a walkie talkie.

I jumped over the table as I heard a bang pushing Ember head down as I caught a fast moving object. Ember scowled “What was that for?”

I showed her the object and she gasped “A sniper bullet.” I looked up to see the two large guys; they were as big as the door and pulled out two pistols from their suits. I smiled as a pair of headphones slammed into one of the guards. My smile disappeared and was replaced with horror as I watched Vinyl dash over and tear out the closer one’s intestines before knocking the second guy’s head clean off, I screamed as it bounced off the wall and landed in my lap.

I then heard the door open to a see a third guy smaller than the previous two carrying a sniper rifle. I watched as Vinyl slammed the guy into a wall and then bit into his neck, I felt my strength leave my legs and all went black.

When I opened my eyes I was sitting in my room with Pinkie and Ember staring at me, the worry evident on their faces. Pinkie gave me a big hug as she cried “I was so worried that my Sun was hurt.”

I frowned “I’m sorry Pinkie, it’s just where I’m from violence is not common and killing is abhorrent and I fainted from the shock.”

We all turned to the door as we heard a light knocking. Ember frowned “I’ll get it, you two stay here.” We heard some shouting followed by a loud crash.

Pinkie shouted “You better not be making a mess!”

I gasped as I saw Vinyl and Octavia standing next to Ember, Ember had a small cut in her scales that were now revealed on her forearms and legs. Meanwhile Vinyl and Octavia were lightly burnt. Octavia said “I came here with Vinyl so she can apologise.”

I asked “Vinyl does she know?”

Octavia frowned as she bared a pair of razor sharp fangs “I was the one who turned her, she has trouble controlling her more bestial urges but she is the damn best fighter of ever seen.”

I laughed “She couldn’t beat me.”

Octavia smirked “You want to bet?”

Vinyl scowled “Remember those saiyans, especially that large great ape.”

Octavia frowned “Yeah but what does that have to do with anything?”

Vinyl scowled “You are expecting me to fight the girl who beat that said ape, she would slaughter me in an instant.” Octavia spluttered, Vinyl apologised “I’m sorry for my actions and for my friend’s insults as well.”

Pinkie and I smiled “Apology accepted.”

Vinyl then tossed a card to Ember “If you want to join a group that will keep you safe, call this number.” We watched as Vinyl guided Octavia out of the building with a toothy grin.

Pinkie smiled “I like those two.” I nodded.

Ember fumed “I need to go; I think I am going to give these guys a call. Let’s just say I am sick of getting attacked and this is the last straw, I need protection.”

Me and Pinkie frowned as we nodded, I sighed as Ember left (Why did my life get so complicated?)

Pinkie’s voice echoed (Because we fought aliens from out of space obviously.) I frowned forgetting I left the channel open, I just hoped Ember will be okay after this mess.
