Chapter 9: Visiting Parents

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

We were on a train out. On the train I was so excited and nervous; I’m nervicited I laughed before the worry set in again. Sunset smiled “It’ll be okay, my Chaotic Moon.”

I said “But my parents are really old-fashioned, they may not appreciate us the two of us because we are both girls. They were far from thrilled when they got word of Maud and Trixie.” Sunset looked away, I said sadly “I’m sorry, Sunset I didn’t mean to bring it up.”

Sunset sighed “Pinkie, you can’t protect me, I did that. I was a horrible person back then; I did that to destroy Trixie because she was my rival. Sweet Celestia I was such a horrible person.”

I frowned “It’s been years, you have given me your all. You even gave your life for me, I appreciate you and I will never let anything break us apart, I promise cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.”

Sunset smiled “Thanks, I hope me and my Chaotic Moon can have some fun later.” I giggled as I leaned on her shoulder and she gave me a kiss on the forehead. This moment couldn’t get any better, I dozed off. I woke to the sound of the train telling us we had arrived at Rockville. Sunset and I got off the train; I saw Marble and Limestone standing there.

I shouted as I gave them a hug “Hey sisters, it’s been so long.”

Limestone said “I’m glad; being away from the quarry hasn’t made you weak.” I blushed as I realised I was holding the two of them in the air. I lowered them to the ground.

Sunset said “I’m Sunset Shimmer.”

I said “She’s my girlfriend.”

Marble looked at Limestone “Um, Dad’s not going to be happy, he barely tolerates poor Trixie.” I trembled as we went to my home, my Harmonic Sun wrapped her left arm around me, I smiled slightly as I was glad that she was providing me a bit of comfort as I felt like I was walking through the gates of Hell.

I smiled slightly just as I remember it. My smile disappeared as my father walked down the stairs. I felt the cold stare of his eyes on us, he was angry beyond words. He roared “You have disobeyed me again Pinkamena, always different you were I have been patient but this is the last straw.” He charged at me, I closed my eyes as I waited for the impact.

I opened my eyes when I realised the impact wasn’t coming. I saw a yellow hand holding his fist. Sunset snarled “I don’t care who you are, if you lay even a finger on her I will crush you. I love her and if you can’t accept that we will leave.”

He roared “You bitch, I will murder you.” He raised his other hand only for a loud clang to echo, I watched as my father collapsed to the ground. I saw my mother standing there holding a frying pan.

My mother said “I would like to speak to the both of you.”

We were sitting in the kitchen. My mother said “I’m impressed; you will make a good partner for Pinkie.”

Sunset smiled “Thank you Mrs Pie, I’m glad you approve.”

She replied “Please call me Cloudy.”

I said “Thanks Mum for being supportive, you weren’t that supportive with Trixie.”

We then heard somebody shout “The Great and Powerful Trixie just got cut by a rock, stupid rock! Ow my foot damn rock, ow my other foot!”

My mother smiled “I just want my children safe, I accepted Trixie only because Maud can handle herself but you Pinkie have always been fragile, I just wanted you to be safe. The fact Sunset here protected you is enough for me, I will handle your father. Anyway I think it’s time for a family lunch.”

Sunset blinked ”But Maud isn’t here.”

My mother laughed “She will be, she cares for Pinkie a lot. She will be incredibly worried.”

I counted on my fingers one, two, and three. Maud Barged in shouting with worry on her face “Pinkie, are you alright?”

I smiled “Yes, mum was very understanding but dad wasn’t as much.”

Mum said “I’ll handle him Maud, don’t worry.”

Maud's face returned to its usual blank expression “That’s good.” I laughed at Sunset whose mouth had dropped at Maud’s behaviour.

I said “Come on Sunset, you look like a stunned mullet, oh I wonder what a stunned mullet tastes like, I hope it tastes like cupcakes.”

My father walked in grumpily rubbing his head. Limestone and Marble followed him in. He glared at Sunset before my mother shouted “Igneous, you better not cause them any trouble while I’m cooking.” He grumbled as we sat there.

I sighed as we watched on; father was going to cause a problem. My father frowned “When did you first become friends?”

Sunset said “After we had an incident at the school.”

He frowned “You mean all that nonsense Pinkie spouted about demons and monsters from another world.”

Sunset sighed before she summoned a glowing orb of magic in her hand. He blinked confused. She said “This is magic and it is very powerful.”

I watched as everyone save Maud mouth dropped. Her father shouted “Witch, burn her!”

Maud facepalmed so hard the entire room shook, “For f*cks sake we don’t do that anymore it’s been bloody 2000 years since we last did witch hunts! Seriously we have never caught a witch because god damn they would murder us in five f*cking seconds!” She then stormed out of the room.

I shook my head, she is really angry. I said “I need to speak to her, this is important if she’s this angry we need to talk.”

Sunset nodded “I understand, I’ll stay here to sort things out with your father.”

I walked up to Maud's room, I heard the sound of sobbing in rhythm with the sound of my footsteps. I opened the door to see her grey room, the smell of rocks wafted out. I saw Maud sitting there tears dropping off her stony face; I wrapped my arms around her. I smiled as I felt tears dripping down my eyes at her “Maud, let it all out, stop trying to appear strong.”

Maud grabbed on my shoulders her tears flowing in streams. We sat there for the next hour until she fell asleep on me. I carried my sleeping sister out to find Sunset smiling “Heeeeeey Pinkie, you’re dad is not so bad.” I facepalmed, she was as drunk as a skunk.

My father smiled even though he was a little tipsy “Sunny, come back anytime for a drink.” I got my sister and Sunset on the train back to Canterlot only to see a pillar of energy coming from Sweet Apple Acres. I sighed; this could turn out to be a disaster.
