Stuck The Landing

"So anyway, I'm just not sure what to do with Angel. He's a really sweet bunny, I swear! But he just has a tendency to be... mischievous. I really don't know what I can do." Fluttershy stated, a solemn expression featured visibly. She stares at the floor as she continues her trot towards the spa.

"I think you may need to attempt some sort of disciplinary action, 'Shy. He needs to learn that kicking mailstallions in the shins for walking up to your door isn't right. Nor is it a pleasant experience, I'd guess." Twilight suggests. Fluttershy's eye widened, no longer transfixed to the ground as they were earlier.

"Oh I-I can't do that to Angel, h-he was just protecting me! and I've already used the stare on him, but he just gets even more fuss-" she cuts off.

BOOM

Twilight's ears perk up, propping herself into a defensive position with her eyes scanning all around her area, as Fluttershy yelped and hid behind her friend. She doesn't do well with loud noises that aren't related to her animals. And apparently neither does all of Ponyville, evident by the screams of terror filling Fluttershys ears. Along with her own.

Twilight's eyes fixated solely on the dust forming above the northern side of Ponyville. An explosion?

"Fluttershy, stay here. I'm gonna go check out what that was, I'll be right back." Twilight sparks her horn, preparing for a basic teleportation spell. Her concentration is broken when she feels pressure on her withers.

"I won't leave you alone, Twilight. We're friends, and if that impact happens to be due to a creature of any sort, I'd like to be there to help." Fluttershy stated, determination in her eyes. Her friends need her to be more courageous in the face of fear, and this would be the perfect time to learn to control it. Or not, but she can't let the terrible possibilities get to her!

Twilight nods, and in a flash of purple and white, they disappeared.

A blotch of sparkling colors appear, and the two mares are now set in an unfamiliar setting. They cough a bit, dust still prevalent through the air.

Twilight has no idea where she's ended up, she just sent her magical signature to the closest area she believed the impact to be. She squints, trying to see through the now fading dust. Upon closer inspection...

"Hey wait a second, isn't this Sweet Apple Acres?" Twilight tilts her head. What could Applejack have to cause such a massive explosion? Buck a tree too hard? Accidently invent a grenade out apples? The latter seemed the least likely, but ideas floated around her head like nats to apples. Or any fruit for that matter, but to fit the theme apples work best.

Fluttershy's eyes shrink. "Twilight, look!" She points her hoof to one of the patches of land. What was once comprised of greenery, living trees and dirt was now not but a crater. Dead trees lay crooked around the center, and twigs scattered across the soil.

"Wh-What... what happened?" Twilight asked in shock, not expecting an answer from her equally appalled friend.

A voice could be heard in the distance, one of distress and frustration. The two ran towards it, words becoming clearer the closer they ran.

"-and I was jus' sittin' on my haunches, minding my own business, when this big ball of who-knows-what just falls right outta the dang sky! Nearly gave my poor ol' heart a much unneeded stoppin'!" The old mare, whom Twilight remembered as Applejack's grandma, Granny Apple, recalled. Granny immediately focuses her sight on the two running up to her.

"Hey, you two over there! D'ya got any explanation for this here sight? I know y'all bin gettin' into some mystical phooey with Applejack as o' recent!" They stop, noticing the red stallion standing in front of her.

"We came here to investigate what happened. You said it was a big spherical object?" Twilight questions Granny, staring quizically at the now barren patch of land harboring a white dot at its center.

"A big ball, yeah, and I've gots me a nice patch o' land to get 'ta fixin! Nearly most o' my trees turned ta' firewood!" She sighs, dreading the sudden complications she's now forced to deal with. Why couldn't this just be a normal day? Everything's just been going south and thensome in the life of poor old Granny Apple.

"Would you mind if we check it out?" Twilight asks, chiming in due to Fluttershys silence throughout this encounter.

"Nnope." The stallion known as Big Macintosh, or Big Mac, stated. He stares back at the crater, sighing at the inevitable labor to take place in the near future.

Twilight nods, and along with Fluttershy, trots to the site of the wreckage. Stepping on the rubble of dead tree twigs caught in crash, and slowly descending into the crater.

Fluttershy can feel her heart race. Why did she agree to this? What if there's a scary monster in it that can't be tamed unlike the manticore? What if it trys to hurt her and Twilight, what will she do then? What if...

...No. No no, she can't think like that. It's thoughts like those that always fuel her fear of the unknown. She came here to conquer her terror, and by Faust she will. For her friends sake, and her own.

With newfound determination shining bright in her eyes, Fluttershy trots ever so faster towards the odd white ball. Twilight wonders why Fluttershy suddenly insists on rushing, but catches up with her pace anyway.

They stop, now merely feet away from the cause of disturbance.

"What do you think it is?" Asks Fluttershy, stepping forward a bit to see if there's anything inside of the purple glass in front of the object.

"It looks kind of like a jawbreaker. However, it's got a rounded slit, so I'm going to assume this is some sort of po-"

The door descends violently.

Fluttershy's heart sinks, taken aback by the sudden movement as she jumps back and catches her breath.

Something's inside.

It ejects out of the sphere, and collapses onto the dirt. It appears to be a creature that is...

"It's injured!" She runs back up to it, checking its pulse. Does it have a pulse? Where would it be? Well it resembles a monkey to some degree, so she'd assume it's-

"Fluttershy, get back!" Twilight exclaims, not noticing her outburst caused the creature to scrunch up its eyes.

Fluttershy looks back at Twilight, and looks down. It's eyes have opened. And it's staring directly at her.

She shrieks, and jumps back. Its eyes staring at her loosely, as if it was barely focused. They're locked in eyesight despite that, until its lips move. No sound seem to eminate from it though, causing visible distress for the creature. It breaths in and out, before closing its eyes once again. It begins to snore.

Twilight trots up to it, noticing that its breath has shallowed. She lifts it with her magic, trying not to disturb it from its slumber.

"T-Twilight, we can't just leave him here!" Fluttershy exclaimed, noticing its several injuries and torn clothes. She recieves a puzzled expression from Twilight.

"How could you tell it's a he?" She questioned.

"He resembles a monkey, just without all the hair. I'm just making an assumption based off of apes and those similar that I've seen before, since Ive gotten used to differentiating genders."

Twilight nods. "What should we do with it- er, him?"

Fluttershy ponders. "We can take him back to my home, I think he just needs some bandages and rest."

Suddenly, it dawned on Twilight. This is an extraterrestrial being she's currently holding. And as far as she knows, is one of which all ponykind has never discovered before. It wears clothing, and it appeared to be attempting to utter syllables while it was conscious, so it must be a sapient creature. She might be jumping to conclusions, but she didn't seem to pay as much mind to that as she did the prospect of new life being studied!

If her theory is true, there are so many things she could ask it! What is its culture like? What does it eat? Where is it from? Why does it have hair protruding from its head like a mane, but not everywhere else?

"Ehm... Twilight?" Fluttershy states.

How many of them are there? Did they descend from monkeys? How do the sun and moon work for them? Heck, do they even have a sun and moon? Are all of his kind this unreasonably buff?

"Twilight?"

On the other hoof, they may also be dangerous, and she may need to exhibit a fair amount of caution. How does this pod work? It could be some serious magic, implying that this creature might be rather proficient at spellcasting. But without a horn to cast spells? How did it-

"Twilight!"

Twilight is jolted out of her thoughts at Fluttershy's yell.

"S-Sorry, but we need to get going. I-If you dont mind, could you maybe teleport us?" She asks. Twilight pushes her thoughts aside for later, focusing on the task at hoof. This is no time to get lost in thought, she's got a duty to uphold.

"Right. Let's get going." She sparks her horn, and teleports. Not noticing the panting Applejack running towards them.

Frieza.

Just what made him the way he was? If he were only a better person, Goku knows for sure they'd have been good rivals. It's a shame, really. On a more important note, he hopes Gohan and the others are fine, especially K...

...Krillin.

That heartless bastard, Frieza. Krillin didn't deserve that, not even a little bit. He was a good man, and being dealt such a death was beyond a level Goku could forgive.

Goku glosses over these thoughts, stuck in a state where he's not quite asleep, but not exactly awake either. His boiling anger slowly slipping him back into consciousness.

Goku feels his surroundings, where was he again? Oh right, little horse thing and... that's it. Wait a second, is he on a bed? There are beds on wherever he is?

He opens his eyes, haziness all around his vision. It's too blurry to concentrate on certain things, so he just looks around absentmindedly.

He'd also been ignoring a light pressure on his stomach, and upon further analysis it feels like it's tapping him. He looks forward to his front, the source of the physical disturbance.

He sees a really angry white blob standing on him holding something orange.

What?

Author's Note

Sorry for the long wait everyone, I was really busy this week. More-so than I had anticipated to be. The next chapter should be longer, and where the plot picks up. Little over 2000 words I'd say, maybe more. I'd like to make this a slow transition, but not boring slow.

Thanks for reading, do leave comments on grammatical errors, opinions, or general critiquing in the comments below. I'll make sure to fix any errors.
