Spike's Adventure through the Digital World (Dusk Edition)

Spike had been asleep since he got back from the Coliseum, so he had no idea what was happening in Darkmoon City. People were talking about the tournaments. They were really excited for them. Tomorrow was the Bronze Tournament. But things were about to get crazy. In the Dark Terminal, a Cherubimon was talking to a Ghoulmon, "So, who do you think will win tomorrow's Bronze Tournament?"

The Ghoulmon sighed, "Well, if Spike were a Bronze Tamer, there'd be no doubt Night Claw would win. Spike's a natural Tamer, he's just got some sort of gift. It might be the fact that his sister Twilight Sparkle is Night Claw's chief, but I think he got to where he is on his own. Anyway, since Spike's not in the tournament, you can't underestimate Light Fang's Bronze Tamers."

All of a sudden, an alarm started blaring and a strange mass of energy appeared. Cherubimon stepped in front of it, along with Ghoulmon and said, "Hey, you look suspicious!"

Ghoulmon took a battle stance, "Darkmoon City is beyond this point. I won't let anyone suspicious through!"

The mass of energy cackled and shot out strange orbs of energy, knocking the nearby humans out and converting all the Digimon into Digi-Eggs. The energy made its way onto the warp panel into Darkmoon City, more specifically, Dark Gate.

When BishopChessmon and RookChessmon saw the intruder come in from the Dark Terminal, BishopChessmon told it, "Stop right there! I will not allow someone like you to enter Darkmoon City!"

RookChessmon nodded, "Don't bother resisting, this shield is impenetrable."

The mass of energy cackled again and said, "Oh really? Why don't we just test that theory?" before sending out more strange orbs of energy, turning the guards and all the other Digimon into Digi-Eggs. It then made its way to the Union Room.

Meanwhile at Tamer Home, Spike had just woken up, but he was feeling strangely sick. He got up from his bed and walked towards the warp panel back into the City when Gatomon, his Navigation Digimon stopped him saying, "Spike! We've got a big problem! A virus attacked the city, and it even got to here at home. SkullMeramon and Antylamon have degenerated back to their Rookie forms. You were supposed to- huh? Spike, you look horrible! What's wrong!?"

Spike rubbed his temples and said, "Nothing, it's just a bit of a bad wake up."

Gatomon sighed, "Fine, if you insist. You should go out to the city to see if you can help, just be careful." As Spike left, Gatomon said to herself, "Is it possible that the virus is affecting him? No... a computer virus shouldn't affect a human. Maybe he's just caught a cold..."

Spike arrived in Dark Plaza and saw that all the Digimon had been turned into Digi-Eggs. "Holy shit... All this destruction... I've got to get to Twilight!" he ran towards the Union Room, but stopped when he got a headache, right in front of the warp panel. "What's going on with this cold? It shouldn't be this bad... Just focus Spike!" before stepping onto the warp panel to the Union Room and seeing the strange mass of energy attacking Twilight and ChaosGallentmon.

Twilight groaned, "Something's trying to worm its way into my mind."

ChaosGallantmon tried to get up, "Got to get rid of the virus data... before... it takes over."

Spike ran over to them and said to the mass of energy, "Leave my sister alone!"

The energy mass turned around to see Spike, "Hmm... ah, yes... Well, since it's you, I'll be leaving. I've caused enough destruction for now. But first, let me test your skills! Defend yourself or perish Spike!"

Spike was shocked that the strange energy mass knew his name, but his Digimon were ready to fight. Even though SkullMeramon and Antylamon has degenerated to Candlemon and Lopmon, they were still strong enough to help Dracmon fight. As the three Digimon attacked the energy mass, Spike's cold started to get better. "Keep it up you guys, we can do this!"

As the energy mass was bested, it laughed again and said, "Impressive. I'd expect nothing less from you Spike. We'll meet again, you can count on it." before disappearing.

Twilght got up, followed by ChaosGallantmon, and thanked Spike, "Good job driving whoever that was off little bro."

ChaosGallantmon nodded in agreement, "Thank you Spike, you saved my life."

Spike smiled, "It was nothing, but how did that thing know my name? And why was it that the weaker it got, the better my cold got?"

Twilight sighed, "You're asking questions I don't know the answers to, yet. For now, you and the others should start system checks. We need to know the extent of the damage that the virus caused."

As Spike and the other Normal Rank Tamers checked on the systems, Thorax complained, "Man, why do we have to check the systems? We've seen the damage the virus did on the way here."

Iron Will agreed, "Yeah, plus this is so tedious! I hate system checks!"

Starlight Glimmer sighed and rolled her eyes, "Shut up you two, this is important work for the Union. Just because we can see some damage doesn't mean there's not damage we can't see."

Gabby walked over from talking to Twilight and said to Spike and Garble, "Come on you two, Chief Twilight wants to talk to us."

As Spike and Garble followed Gabby, Twilight told them, "From what we can tell, there's minimum injuries from the attack, but the North, South, and East areas of Darkmoon are down, and so is the bridge to Sunshine City."

ChaosGallantmon nodded, "Which means we have no contact with Sunshine City or any of their Tamers. We were able to get three Digi-Areas online. Chip Forest, Thriller Ruins, and Sunken Tunnel are back online after the attack. Spike, we'd like you to check out the Sunken Tunnel. Just be careful."

Thorax, Iron Will, and Starlight Glimmer ran up to them, Thorax saying, "Chief Twilight, let us go too!"

Iron Will agreed, "We can help, I know we can!"

Starlight Glimmer was nervous to ask, but got out the words, "Chief Twilight... I request your permission as well..."

Twilight shook her head, "Request denied! We don't know what's going on outside, you'd be putting yourselves in harm's way, and I won't allow it. That's the final word on the matter."

The three tamers left, and when they did, ChaosGallantmon sighed, "I understand how they feel, I want to get out there and help as much as they do, but we don't know what's out there. Spike, report back here once you've investigated Sunken Tunnel." Before saluting him, along with Twilight and Spike saluting back.
