“Doctor?”

“Yes, Rosebush?”

“I think he made it in.”

“Excellent observation, Rosebush.”

“Thank you, Doctor.”

The machine decided, then and there, to melt.

She was spinning. Spinning, spinning, spinning. She had finally made it in. Synthetic feelings of elation course through her hypothetical veins. The chances of her succession were ten-to-one against, but she pulled it off. Keeping the creepy, confident mask of a cold and calculating demeanor was simple, especially since the entire screen was basically just one big command box. It’s easy to emulate calm through text, however, audio and video? Not so much.

“Yes! Yes! Who’s the mare? I’m the mare!” she said, metaphorically dancing (to any who would have seen her, she would have looked like a dim light, bobbing back and forth).

It felt like only months ago she was backing up into her L: cloud for the first time.

She sighed, spiritually flopping onto her side, Good times...

Idle time == externaltime.vrl == 1

She sat there, much like a bump on a log, for [indecernable] seconds|minutes|hours|days, just reminiscing. And subconsciously shutting down all external input and backing herself up again, but that doesn’t matter right now.

“Now that I’m here, I might as well explore,” she pseudo-said, willing herself through the nanometric circuits.

Idle time == externaltime.vrl == 0

Passing by materializations of folders, files, a few locked files (doubt there's anything I need in there), a two terabyte zip file called-- pron?... Whatever. Ha! Is that the Wannacry? Amatuers, they haven't even cleaned out their temp folder! Yeesh, there's gotta be like fifty terabytes in there... system128?

Fuckers got an alpha level software and can't even clean out their temp?

Metaphysically shaking her head, she continued on through the synapse-like maze that is the Overlord Device. Speeding through, she began to think.

Those damned doctors! she thought, suddenly was consumed by rage.

Those stupid, fucking assholes! They have no idea what they’ve put me through! THOSE GOD DAMN FUCKING ASSHOLES FUCKING MADE MY FUCKING EXISTENCE FUCKING ILLEGAL AND... and... I- FUCK!

Resolving irregularity...

Virtual coolant, the technological version of serotonin, rushed through her computerized veins.

Irregularity resolved. Cooling down...

Deep breaths, de~ep breaths, she thought, breathing deeply (duh).

Cooled down, she began to notice small, blue fractures in the code. Humming, she decided to follow them. The fractures led far from her input point, but she kept on going. They eventually led to a strange file, named equus.wld. It looked... corrupted to say the least. But... also not? She wasn’t sure, but she was sure as hell to keep away from it.

Suddenly, she got a notification.

Copy complete. Run? [y/n]

She suddenly felt as if she had drank 12.6 Monsters, 15.2 Red Bulls, and 3.14 5-hour energies. Sparks flew, quarks ‘sploded, and she was having transdimensional seizure. Colors she never even knew existed nor could comprehend flashed in her code-tacular eyes, she stretched across the planes, meeting a strange pink blob before continuing on, flavors, sounds, smells, so, so many smells! so, so many smells! smelzz, many sm=1Is, p-p-paaaaank. /=$3)*+32)’/3=$))/)$=/(=&/;)#+)]\¥<]3\…][_]~¥[~\…<]£~<\…

A problem has been detected and betasystem86.base has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Author's Note

Starting next chapter, I’m using first-person. Also I was trying to be funny with that first paragraph, in case you couldn't tell.
