The Summoner Act One: The Battle For Britannia

(The son of Rupert)

The direct path was smooth as Pólemos carried us to the city of Mide. Green Flame is currently sleeping on my back as we take the gentle ride through the landscape.

since I had passed out on the battlefield I decided to take a travel with my girlfriend to learn about this land.

Mide was now insight as we drew closer with every step.

We arrived at the gate after a quick check from the Guard screaming "Who Goes There!" they opened it allowing us passage. Pólemos walked up the hill and as I got a closer look I noticed that these walls are similar to Tuadmuma and Breifne walls they were also very wally.

As we entered in the city I got looks from the populous of both disgust and hatred towards me. My own guard arrived to make sure that they wouldn’t try anything against us.

Such is the way of war the concord country is displeased and it’s full of hatred. They will calm down eventually but not for a long while.

Finally as my escort and us arrive at the palace, I dismounted Pólemos and Green Flame woke up due to me moving around. I helped her get down and we walked inside ready for our duty.

Inside we were greeted with servant and butlers. Me, Green Flame and Pólemos were escorted to the room. Before we entered, we hear celebration and a few familiar voices. And a few unfamiliar voices but that will not bother me.

As I open the doors I noticed all of the lords and a few loyal knights and Vikings on the perimeter. The Lords noticed us and greeted us. Four I had recognized and two I did not.

“Greetings your majesty!” Shouted Ea Bowing formally "we were just waiting for you to sign the peace treaty. " I smile and give him a polite nod I take a seat and Green Flame takes the seat to my left. Pólemos sets down to my right and I rub him on the head.

The Lord’s take their respective seat and I was handed the treaty.

first act: All of Aileach will be annexed by Connacht

Second act: Connacht Will be a vassel of The New Human Kingdom

Third act: Airgialla Will be a puppet for The New Human Kingdom

Fourth act: Tuadmuma and Hlymrekr will unite there kingdoms into Pyrkagiá

Fifth act: Pyrkagiá will become a vassel of The New Human Kingdom.

Sixth act: Osraige will become a puppet for The New Kuman Kingdom

Seventh act: Mide Will be annexed by Pyrkagiá

Eighth act: all P.O.W’s Will be released four they are no longer useful as prisoners

At this point I was happy. Everything that was needed is done and everything I want is done as well.

Just one problem

Ninth act: The son of King Rupert will be executed

I read it over and over again, But the words stayed the same. Eventually I asked “Who is… The son of King Rupert...”

I noticed lord Ea and Oscar had a displeased look. A lord with the Breifne baner over him said “yes, the boy will be trouble in the future. It is best if we execute him now.” A.. a.. Boy!

“What in god's name has come over you Man! To murder a child is barbaric!” I Shout in confusion my ears subconsciously pinning to my head.

“I understand your confusion my Lord but if we do nothing The boy will soon become of age and his people will expect him to start a rebellion, and I do not want to go into a Guerrilla war.” He explained calmly.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I could see Green Flame’s face was also twisted into a Frown. “Well then” I said gaining everyone's attention "let’s take a vote“ everyone nodded there head in agreement.

“All Who think we should execute the boy raise their hand.” I was surprise when the leaders of Airgialla, Breifne, Hlymrekr and Osraige raise their hand. Hlymrekr is still independent because the treaty has not been signed yet. Airgialla and Osraige had already signed the treaty which makes them puppet.

“So it’s a tie” I say

The leader of Hlymrekr protested “what do you mean it’s a tie. We have majority rule.”

“What are you talking about?” I’ve replied. “Me, Ea, Oscar and Green Flame want to let the boy go.”

“She cannot vote. Well I heard is that you are not married yet which gives her know say. And a marriage takes at least months of planning I’m not willing to wait that long” he shoots back.

I’m thrown into a panic I can’t execute a child. it’s not fair... Start thinking... What can I do to give me time to think... AHA!

I am brought back to the real world with an idea. “We will have another meeting in five days. I implore you to think this through. We will have another vote and I swear on my life, and the crown on my head. That will be the Final voteing day” they nod is there head which I am thankful for and leave the room.

Finally it is me, Green Flame and Pólemos in the room with the guards. My head slams against the table it stings a little bit I don't notice as I try to think of ways through this. Green Flame and Pólemos tried to comfort me but is no use.

Eventually I get up and start making my way towards the door. “Where are you going?” Green Flame asked. I don’t look at her as I answer “to find this child and tell him his time. Their faces showed determination in their actions. The child has little time I must make it worth it I owe him that much.”

She just nods her head and stands beside me, holding my hand. “Then will go together” she said. I smile at her and we walked down the hall to find the boy.

As we make our way down I start thinking of ways I can break the news… The best I come up with was be honest.

We arrive at the training area and I can see a goblin boy. As it look at him he seems different than the others.

He’s already a foot taller than his father and he’s pretty damn good with a knife.

He suddenly stops in looks at us holstering his knife he starts making his way towards us.

Eventually we’re just 2 meters apart.

“Greetings” I say looking him up and down

“I presume that you killed my father.” He said without blinking.

“Y-yes I am” I said in shock not usual for someone especially a kid to think like that.

“Don’t be surprise... you’re the only fox around” he said face palming.

“Right” there’s a brief silence between us.

“So... kid” I begin only to have him interrupt me

“I’m gonna die” he said shocking me even more.

My ears flap against my head as I look down in shame. This gave them his answer.

“I knew it wouldn’t be long. This stuff always happens in Britannia” he said sighing.

I couldn’t look him in the eye after he said that. He doesn’t seem to be older than 15 and he’s taking it better than I expected.

“I’m sorry” I say to him

“Don’t be” he replies. “It was war it was either you or him.”

I took a second to respond to that “Very wise” I stated

“Thank you, but wisdom won’t get me anywhere now.” He said in defeat slumping a bit

I lift my head up and put my right hand on his left shoulder. “Hey now” I say “I gave them five days to decide so in the meantime let’s enjoy. Anything you want it’s on me."

He looks up at me “anything?” he said with a smirk.

Green Flame give a nod ‘Oh shit’ I thought in my head.

(12 minutes later)

We were on a hill… not just any hill… A Big Fucking Hill!

We were in a wooden boat ready to slide down a massive hill.

“Are you sure this is safe?” Green Flame asked.

‘No’ I thought.

“Yeah it’s perfectly fine” he replied.

‘Liar!’ I shout in my mind.

Me and Green Flame we’re already in the boat while William, also known as William the bastard. 'I can see where he gets his name from' is pushing it closer to the edge.

Instantly we go zooming down as William jumps in the back. I scream as loud as I can but the wind takes the sound.

We get about halfway and it’s getting very bumpy. I’m already picturing myself as a piece of art on the wall.

I noticed there’s a lake in front of us as we get closer to the bottom.

I look to my left and noticed Green Flames spitting on her hands. her spit looks like green slime. She then places One hand each side of her sticking her to the boat.

As we make it to the lake we start skipping like a rock cross the water. Eventually we stop skipping and it starts to slow down but not fast enough.

William grabs on Green Flame as I noticed that he’s also terrified.

The boat hits the Earth and is swang forward. The boat goes up to an angle of about 75° which is still enough to send me flying.

I smash through several trees but was quick enough to put up a magical shield. I start slowing down and eventually I hit to ground… Then ground then started to break. The whole ground gets Caved in as I feel my arm snap.

(Lee’s POV)

I look over the checklist for our trip home and realizing that we got everything I nodded to myself proudly From now on I will not leave Alex’s side. Never again should Alex feel pain.

(Then allowed and sudden)

“FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK!”

“I had to jinx it, ugh” I said face palming.

(Two hours later)
(Alexander POV)
(In another Hospital)

Who knew there’s a cave underneath the city. I’m glad I found it at the cost of my right arm! That will be in a sling for the next three months… ‘Terrific!’

There were two knights on each side of me keeping guard. Ahead of me was Green Flame and William.

“I’m very sorry” said the William. “I swear it was an accident”

“It’s fine kid. no need to worry about it” I replied. “Now if you can help me out of this hospital bed we can continue on what you want to do.”

As I said that Green lame gave me a warm smile. William on the other hand was very confused.

“but you’re injured. You nearly died“ he said in protest.

I laughed at his statement “kid if you knew what I’ve been through you would chalk it up as a normal day.”

"He's Right."

He looked even more confused.

“That’s right” Green Flame said “he nearly died so many times and now I’m not even worried… it’s just annoying now.”

“Ouch” I say, looking hurt. “Some of us still have feelings”

As we continue our conversation William just looks more confused. “Does this happen often” he says

“Too often” me and a Green Flame say in unison.

(Two Days Later)

As me, William, Green Flame and for some reason Lee, walked the streets of Mide, we gain a lot of stairs as the prince is hanging out and showing around the conquering king.

William shows us all of his favourite places and the best places to eat.

William shows as a new store called the “Frozen Cup”. We enter the building and it’s quite cold.

They serve this new food called ice cream. Apparently the store owner was trying a few new things out and made ice cream.

I was a bit hesitant but as I took my first bite I wanted to buy the entire store. Luckily green flames talk to me considering I have no money on me.

Lucius the store owner said that he will be willing to move to my Kingdom to sell ice cream as long as I pay him there.

Lee told me that he would remind me later.

As we continued on our day I asked William where his friends were. He replied “due to me being a prince if I were to gain friends at a young age they would take me for granted my father said.”

I was saddened by his comment as no boy should grow up alone.

Eventually the topic went to history where I could tell Green Flame was starting to fall asleep. I had to carry her the rest of the way. I was surprised that I could still carrier with just one arm... bridal style!

He told me what happened decades ago when Britannia was near the end of the great war. Many generals without pay abandon everything to forge their own kingdoms which led to the great divide.

This island used to be inhabited by fire spirits only. Then the drakes came over so they had to send rescue armies.

The goblin suffered the most as they were cut off from supply lines and were the last to a abandon the mission. That’s why they don’t have that big of territories compared to the orcs. Who were the first to defect.

I learned also they had a fire ravens which could send messages a lot quicker. Fire ravens are easier to spot but our three times faster than the regular Raven.

They’re also pretty intelligent compared to most animals and can learn their way around the world easily for long campaigns 'Note to self get as many fire ravens for my army as I can.'

For some odd reason I could really connect with this kid. I don’t know why but he kind of reminds me of me. Maybe it’s an old memory that I have still forgotten.

As it gets late I start thinking about the meeting in a few days.

I wish to get his mind off it but my mind is all over it.

(Two Day Later: Near Midnight)

I’m laying in the guest bedroom as the moon shines brightly through my window. Green Flame sleeps soundly rate beside me. It’s been four days and tomorrow morning we will decide.

I still can’t figure out what to do. The kid is amazing and he has so much potential. But that potential will be wasted because of a few cowards!

…

...

‘Calm yourself Alex…’ I say in my mind. There’s got to be away to get the treaty signed and keep the kid alive! Think! Think!

Then it hit me… yes that would work perfectly! But I’ve never done this before… well I guess I have to get used to it I got to see what Green Flame thinks first before I set my plan in action.

I turn over to look at my beautiful girlfriend. I hope she agrees it’s my last plan.

I shake her shoulder a little bit and she opens a an eye. Our eyes connect as we lay there silently.

“You can’t sleep to” she says with a yawn.

I just close my eyes and slowly now on my head.

She gives me a smirk “I know you love William and I don’t need my changeling abilities to know that. And if I know you, you found out a way to save him haven’t you.”

I give her a smirk to confirm her answer.

She rolls her eyes as she says “what’s the plan.“

“It’s crazy” I tell her.

“You know I love crazy” she replies.

I smirk as I lean closer and whisper in her ear.

Her face becomes a bright green eyes she leans away. “You’re right. that is crazy” she says. Her face change his moods. “I just don’t know if I’m ready“

I place my hand on her cheek and say “you will do perfect.”

She takes a few moments to think about it and then nods her head.

(The Next Morning)

The table is filled with silence. Lee is behind me along with William to see his fate.

Tensions were high as each Lord looked at each other waiting for the other to speak. Eventually one got impatient.

Lord Unitas of Hlymrekr started the conversation. “Well now that we’re all here let us take a vote“

“There is no need I say I know what each of you was going to say.” The room is soon as I said it.

Williams eyes look down.

“So the boy will be executed I guess we can sign-“ “not so fast!” I say interrupting Unitas “this meeting is far from over.”

All of the Lords look at me confused. United speaks up. “my Lord what else is there to speak about”

“We’re not be executing William” I say as my head is held high.

Unitas looks at me in disbelief “but you said-“ I interrupt him again. “I said I will execute the son of Rupert but you see he is no longer the son of Robert.”

Everyone except for Green Flame is confused. I proceed to grab a suitcase that was there an hour before the meeting. I bring it on top of the table so everyone can see it and open it up.

I grab some papers and slam them on the table. “Because he is my son now!” There are jaws drop as they look at the adoption papers for William. I continue “because William mother died at birth and I killed his father it is my responsibility to take care of him. You won’t have to worry about him exciting to the crown anymore because he is not blood. he will never become my hair unless necessary… so gentleman” I say as I look at them. “Now we can start to sign the paper.”

The room is instantly silenced. But a slow clap from Unitas can be heard through the room. “I see you have beaten me” he says with a small smile. “where is the paper I’m need to sign it quickly so I may retire. As long as an intelligent brain is among us I do not need to worry about my Kingdom.”

I was kind of shocked at his answer I expected a little bit more retaliation. But now I can tell he never wanted to hurt boy he was just worried about his kingdom. But now he will not have to worry for as long as I am in charge I will Bring our countries into a golden age.

I feel William I hope the right side of me as he barely misses my arm that is damaged. I pat him on the head a little bit with my left. I can feel his tears soaking into my fer. Green Flame comes around and makes it a group hug, Green Flame has accepted to be William's mother.
