The Summoner Act One: The Battle For Britannia

(Chapter 3: No Turning Back)

I walk down the street of Tuadmuma… there’s not a single bit of life around.

The sky was covered in gravy clouds while the ground was covered in some type of red liquid.

I continued walking not knowing where I was going.

I continued walking until I turned a corner…

This particular was the wall. The wall looks completely untouched like a battle didn’t happen.

I walk over to see what I could find on the other side of the wall… I wish I hadn’t.

On the other side or mountains of dead bodies of Goblins. The red liquid seem to be higher due to the fact some of the bodies were floating on it. It looks like a red sea and the bodies were islands.

I then felt something grab my leg. I jump from the touch and look down. What I saw horrified me… Young looking Viking tank man, maybe in his 20s was looking up at me covered in arrows and coats.

“Why did you let me die” said the Viking tank.

I couldn’t say anything so I look the way. I looked at the ones quiet Tuadmuma city… that is now on fire!

Screams men, women and children echoed through the sky! The ones Plainfield was not covered in hundreds of human bodies! It started raining fire setting more things ablaze!

“Why did you let all of us die” this time the voice came from the sky!

One by one human bodies would get up and start walking over to me! Many were missing limbs and some didn’t even have a head!

They started circling around me, each of them grabbing me! They started chanting at once!

“Why did you let us die! why did you let us die!! why did you!!!-“(Kuboom) and the world was back to normal.

I looked around to be sure... but there was no one in site.

Certainly I felt the urge to turn around and so I did.

When I had turned around I thought I was looking in the mirror until I focussed.

This copy cat had its eyes close, its tips of its ears and tail were red, its weapons were also red.

I had a strange feeling that we were the same... but yet... different…

I tried to say something but it felt like my mouth was glued shut.

Then it opened its eyes… it’s freakishly red glowing eyes… it felt like it was looking at my soul… judging me. Eventually the imposter started walking to me. Eventually we were 2 feet apart.

I then remember this was the thing I turned into… that… Monster!

When I was that thing all I could think about was killing the target. I felt cold and dark… I couldn’t stop smashing that guy’s body into pieces.

I then felt afraid… very afraid…

It’s hand then reached out and grabbed a hold of mine. I was too scared to even move.

It open my hand and placed a Key in my hand.

“Find the fire key” was the last thing I heard before blacking out.

“Ahh!” I woke up with a screen. I was sitting up in a comfortable bed with once again more bandages around me.

I think a couple of deep breaths and finally relax “it’s only a nightmare” I told myself… something of it felt so real.

I smack myself in the head mentally for thinking of such a stupid idea. It can’t be real? Right?

(sigh) I worry about it later…

I get up out of bed and noticing I was perfectly fine? So why do I have the bandages around me?

I decided to search the bandages by using my magic and it turns out they’re enchanted. For some reason the bandages were restoring my loss magic.

(knock) (knock) (knock)

I look at the door across the room. “Come in!” I shout.

The door opens and reveals Ea on the other side. “Oh good you’re awake!” He says with joy. “You were out for three days”

I looked at him “Three… Three Fucking Days!” I shouted.

“Yes” he says calmly

“Oh no! are we OK! Has there been another attack! Are we under attack now! How is Eric, is he all right!” I keep shooting more questions for the next minute.

“Lord Doom you must calm down! you are in no condition to get up and walk around!” He shouted at me.

“Calm down... Calm down! I nearly lost all my men and you’re telling me to-“ (Cough) (grown) I was stopped by a cough. I covered my mouth with my hand before I did so, and when I looked at it again it was covered in blood. “The... Fuc…..” I felt really weak.

“This is what I’m talking about. Do you not know about your own kind!” He said jokingly, but when he saw my face he knew I didn’t. “That explains it” he said quietly. “Please lay down.”

I was too weak to argue so I just did what he said.

“I was able to find a book about foxes.” he started. “It was in the mythological section of the library” well that hurts “but I was able to find a fact that explains why you’re in this condition… It turns out Foxes can use magic like unicorns and goblins and other creatures… The only differences the foxes can learn any magical spell with ease… There’s one problem though… If a unicorn or goblin would run out of the magic it would take a few hours to regain that lost magic… But if a fox would lose all of its magic… Let’s just say this is the biggest miracle in fox history.”

I spent the next week resting and taking medication to regain my magic.

I learned of news that the kingdom of Tuadmuma is not the only one being attacked.

Both of the kingdoms Hlymrekr to the east and Connacht to the north is under attack.

I realize that if we don’t do something we will be all alone again with a force of three kingdoms at us.

So me and Ea have decided on a plan. It took him a long time to convince him but I was able to.

Ea Will lead his army to the east at the kingdom hlymrekr. These two kingdoms are bitter rivals so I’m hoping with the aid of the kingdom Tuadmuma Will bring these kingdoms closer together.

I on the other hand will be travelling to the kingdom of Connacht. The south part of Connacht it’s covered in a thick forest nearly impossible for an army to move fast enough. But a one-man army would be able to pass the thick forest without any problems.

I was going alone… unfortunately we don’t have a big enough army to split it in half… and even if we did the forest would slow us down immensely.

So before I go off I was learning everything I can about my enemy and wrote it down.

Aileach a kingdom of Orcs:

Armies: 2

Average amount of soldiers in each army: 750

Friends: Mide a kingdom of Goblins (are the vassal of this kingdom)

Enemies: Connacht a kingdom of Orcs.
Hlymrekr a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
Tuadmuma a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
The New Human Kingdom “the” kingdom of humans. (I really need to find another name for it. The name just sounds to racist)
Ulaid Kingdom of Orcs.

Currently: The kingdom of Aileach is attacking two enemies, Connacht and Ulaid. With the two enemies on each side of the kingdom it is unknown who will win.

Enemies: Connacht a kingdom of Orcs.

Tuadmuma a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
The New Human Kingdom “the” kingdom of humans.

Currently: The kingdom of Osraige’s King is the brother of the (know headless) King of Mide. They are attacking the kingdom of Hlymrekr.

Friends: Osraige a Goblin Kingdom and Aileach a Orc kingdom

Enemies: Connacht a kingdom of Orcs.
Hlymrekr a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
Tuadmuma a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
The New Human Kingdom “the” kingdom of humans.

Currently: The kingdom of Mide was supposed to attack and destroy the kingdom of Tuadmuma. That way both kingdoms of Hlymrekr and Connacht Will not be able to support each other.

This did not work and let the king headless and his army destroyed.

Now the king has to rebuild the lost army and is preparing to be attacked.

After I’m done writing I slip into a bag and went off to grab my gear.

I was given my black leather armour, Miami mysteriously made weapons and several magic regeneration potions to make sure I don’t die.

I am now at the gate of the city. The gate opens up and to my shock and relief... their Stands Eric.

I quickly walked down and give him a hug. He still lost a lot of blood during the fighting and was knocked out most of the time we have been resting. He was in his iron armour along with his sword on his right hip. But the question is why is he here?

I let go of the hug and say “Eric! Why are you here!? I thought you were still knocked out!?”

“I was knocked out for a little bit but was able to wake up before you left” he starts. “do you really think I would let you go on this adventure alone?”

“No Eric it’s too dangerous and your right hand and eye is gone.” I said

“Sir… I swore months ago, my loyalty and my strength to my last dying breath… I did not become Second Lieutenant by not going into battle and right now I’m still breathing“ he said while standing up straight.

I look at him… “do you have a Deathwish, or do you have bravery?... Because right now it’s hard to tell… come on you fool… and thanks for coming with me.”

“The pleasure is all mine” he responded.

We walked and were surprised there’s not a single body insight.

When I was resting I learned that we were facing enemy of 1784. I thought we were only able to kill around 300 but it turns out we killed around 1000 and 500.

After about an hour we start up a conversation.

“I have decided to make you my disciple.” I started

“You’re what?” he says confused.

“You are going to be my disciple along with earning the rank of captain. You earned the rank of captain because of your bravery on the battlefield… but you earned to be my disciple through loyalty.”

“I realized that if I were to die Green Flame would have not have known for months. If I were to die sadness would strike across the kingdom and that cannot happen in a time like this.”

“That’s why I am going to start with the “disciples”. The disciples will be followers of me. I disciple has to be kind loyal and generous. When I die the disciples will be in charge until my children become ready to rule.”

“I remember many times many areas would destroy their kingdoms because of a choice that they made. Now with the disciples the kingdom will be safe.”

“I disciple will be chosen by my choosing and my choosing alone. They will also be the first to know of my plans and what I should do.”

“And finally I disciple have more rights than any noble… and you are my first disciple along with many others do I have in mind”

…

“Well then it’s an honour your majesty” he says giving a little bow on the walk.

A week passes by as we venture through Forests mountains and a little swamp. We passed by A ton of animals I haven’t seen. There are regular animals and then there’s animals that are on fire and act like it’s normal. Bears birds even a few plants.

I try to figure the logic... but I can’t… it just hurts my head too much.

But finally we have arrived to the capital… and it’s under attack… go fucking figure…

We’re standing on a mountain and Aileach is attacking from the right while the kingdom of Connacht is to the left.

The kingdom looks like it has two stone walls and the first one has already been breached. Luckily each wall had a moat.

I grab Eric and quickly teleport inside… and were instantly surrounded by spears And bows of the Connacht guards.

“Hey we come in peace… we’re here to help!” I shout.

“Who are you?” Says an orc with a golden crown on top of the second wall. He pulls out a scroll. “It says here Tuadmuma was sending reinforcements… so where are they!”

“We are the reinforcements I shout!”

He disappears from moment and quietly says “are they fucking serious“ he looks back at us “well reinforcements why don’t you lead us?” He says sarcastically.

“Gladly” I said shocking him. His men lower their spears and let us pass. Me and Eric make away to the front and he asks me “why are we going first?” And I reply “to show them that we mean business… and besides there’s no turning back now” The drawbridge lowers as the final push to take back the city is on.

I surprised everyone by running out before the drawbridge is even a 10th of the way open. I climb up the drawbridge and jump into the crowd of the orcs.

The orcs are more advance then the goblins I faced over a weeks ago. The orcs were taller stronger and had iron armour… but my sword was sharper and stronger.

Like the goblins I began quickly cutting them down seven at a time. Any attempt to swing at me was broken by my sword. They were treated a little bit away and that’s when the drawbridge finally went down.

The first wall was only protecting a temple and the docking area… it seems like the first wall was made only to be as offensive area instead of having the public live there.

I was soon out of my trance when my allies were running forward.

I got back in the fray of the battle and was quickly turning the tide, but the problem is they keep coming.

I look over to the left at temple and noticed that the enemy was coming from inside. The temple was built into the mountain which would make it easy to dig through and get past the first wall. The docks were also overrun by a few ships.

I look around the battlefield to find Eric and this time is doing fine in the battle. I run up at him and yell “ Eric! Find as many willing Orcs as you can and get those docks under control! I’m gonna try to get the temple sealed up!” He nodded gose to do his objective.

I quickly sprint to the temple and chop down anyone who gets in my way.

Finally I make it to the stairs of the temple and a Orc tries to jump on me. But I quickly grab him by the throat and throw him at his comrades.

I grab a broken spear and threw it into a shoulder of an orc Archer.

I finally get to the top in their stands a huge Orc standing at 15 feet tall.

He is standing in front of the Doors to the temple. Other Orcs try to rush me but we’re stopped by him. “No!” he shouts “this one is mine!” The air was still. The battle sounded like it was hundreds of miles away. “What is your name?” he says.

I was a little shocked “...Alexander Doom… King of man” I finally say.

“Alexander Doom… so you are the one who Killed King Levine“

“Yes I am, how did you know?”

“Reports say that a fox like creature was the one who killed him… you know... I never asked for this… oh my life I want to settle down... meet a cute girl… and serve the king… but now the King is dead and his nephew is in charge. No I’m Dragon to this bloody war that I have nothing to do with… I thought I would be fine with seeing you fight guaranteed me no chance… so if I am going to die today I will die in an honourable duel!” He finishes as he gets ready to fight with a giant mace.

“If it’s a honourable duel you want… then you’re a honourable duel you Will get.” I say as I get into my fighting position.

He swings his mace and I roll underneath. I quickly get back up and elbow him in the gut.

He falls to the ground kneeling before me. That Orcs are shocked how easily I brought him to his knees.

For time we just stared at each other. My sword it was inches from his neck… I lower my sword “what is your name?”

“I am Gabe” he says.

“Well then Gabe” I grab his 10 foot mace. “Will you fight for me“ he looked confused. “You are against a your king it only makes sense to join me.”

He looks at his mace then grabs it. “Hey Gabe what are you-” the random Orc didn’t get to finish as Gabe swung his maze and killed 15 orcs in one powerful swing.

“Go your majesty” he says. “I will take care of the temple, you must focus on Carcass. Carcass is a dangerous foe but she has no match for you.” He then runs in the temple.

I turn my head back to the battlefield. At the docks I can see Eric and the Orcs lighting up the ships.

The battle is now a stalemate. Neither side was losing ground or gaining ground. The enemy has station themselves on the first wall and are firing arrows into our allies.

(Twang) and a bolt nearly hit my face and planted itself in a stone pillar! The bolt had to be 20 inches long and was in the wall 5 inches.

I look to the shooter and saw him on a makeshift tower. He was on some sort of device so I quickly teleported to him and said “it’s not nice to shoot people” he instantly turned around but was too late as my sword went across his chest.

I grab the device and Amy at the first wall. When I shot it I feel a little kick from it. The first arrow hit its target and made him fly off to the other end of the wall. I did not stop until all the archers were off the wall.

When I turn back to the battlefield I noticed that we were winning. I jumped down from the tower and began to attack from the rear. With the men back from the docks and Gabe back from the temple, it was only a matter of time before the enemy was destroyed.

“RRRAAAAHHHHHH” I heard a scream for behind me. I turned around nursing 8 foot Orc was the one who is screaming. ‘this must be carcass’ I thought to myself.

“ALEX I KNOW YOU ARE BEHIND THIS!!! COME OUT AND FACE ME!!!” Carcass shouted.

“I’m right here you dumbass, you don’t need to yell. And how the hell did you get my name?” I say as I walk up to her.

She yanks a spear out of her own fallen comrade without a care in the world. We eventually come face-to-face. The fighting has stopped and odds are they lost.

“One of my men reported to me that Gabe has join the ‘Human’ king Alex. But why would he join you you look pathetic and weak.” She says with venom.

“Let’s... find... out…” I throw my sword to the ground and crack my knuckles. I use my right hand to give the jester ”come at me”.

And come at me she did. She dashed at me trying to get a quick hit with her spear.

I quickly sidestepped to the right and elbowed her in the ribs. “that’s three ribs” I say.

She didn’t care and rushed at me again. I quickly side step and hit her right arm. “That’s an arm”

And once again she rest me with only her left arm intact.

This time I jump 15 feet in the air and land on her shoulders.

With the weight of me the height of the fall and a bit of magic I broke most of The bones in her body and killed her. Bones were sticking out everywhere even her spine that was now split in half.

After that show the enemy was in full retreat.
