The Summoner Act One: The Battle For Britannia

(Green Flame POV)

I was tired but I still have to get ready. I had John make me a suit of armour so I would be prepared to go into battle.

To be honest I’ve never been in a real fight. I had one or two brawls but they weren’t nothing as serious as this.

I was putting on my chest plate until I can reach around to tie the leather strap.

“Need some help there?” said an unfamiliar masculine voice.

I turned around to see... Spike! How did he get so tall! “Hey...umm if you don’t mind I could use a hand… or a claw.”

He comes up behind me and finishes tying the leather strap.

I thank him and go to put on the rest of my armour. All I was missing out was my helmet. I made sure the helmet design had a hole in The back so that I can put my hair through like a 'ponytail'.

Looking at the armour I can feel a small bit of pride, even though it haunted my past of what I had to do. I am still a changeling and this is my culture and I shall wear it with Honor.

After done putting on the Elite armour of the changeling I start making my way to the docks. Spike decides to walk with me which I don’t mind considering I would love the company as of the moment.

“So where were you spike?” I asked politely.

“Oh, when we were in the third Circle a blacksmith wanted to hire me to help him set up his blacksmith shop.” He pulls out a small bag of what I can assume one gold in a couple silver. “I don’t know how much your currency is here… but I thought I was gonna be getting more pay than silver.” He will take me with the computer look.

“Well how much does your currency have?” Even pulls out a gold coin that looks a little bit smaller than our gold coins.

“This is called a bit and it is worth one.”

I chuckled a little bit and tell him “well you see we would have a lot more gold coins but the Canterlot Nobles screwed us over by giving us wooden ones just painted yellow. So I had to work off paying the debt that they gave us and find a way so that we can have a lot of money still. And silver was the most popular material we had in stock.”

“Oh, I’m sorry they screwed you over.” he said apologetically.

“Don’t be you were not the one to give us the wooden coins so I can safely say that you’re innocent in all this.” I said putting a hand on his shoulder.

We make our way down to the docks to see a big crowd of people. I saw family saying goodbye to their love ones and people getting on the ships to leave. I could see Captain Lee and Oden giving orders on who stays and defence, and who is going to Britannia.

As we make our way down, peoples began to notice us and cheer. I nervously smile and wave. I was now in charge of an army going to unfamiliar territory, to rescue our king, and anyone else that’s still alive on the island that is our ally… i’m pretty sure this is normal... right?

I walked up to The biggest ship that has about 15 men that I can see and we were loading a few blisters and the the new catapults.

“Your majesty!” I was brought back out of my thoughts.

I turned to see a knight giving me a short bow. “Your majesty we will be ready in 15 minutes.”

“Then we shall leave in 20 minutes” I say to him.

“Of course your majesty” he gives me another bow and makes his way to tell the others.

I look at the sea and imagine what we’re about to go through. If we fail the human kingdom comes to a end a second time. And I’m pretty sure no one coming after Alex to bring back the humans. This is it… I look back at the men realizing that they’re probably scared as well… I think of a quick speech to give.

I start buzzing my wings up to the crows nest. Once I land, I wait until we’re ready before I quickly got everyone's attention.

“Today!” I shouted with my hands on the guard rail of the crows nest. Immediately I get everyone’s attention. “The fate of humanity lives in the balance of us! Your long Alex is trapped on the island of Britannia and if he dies we will fall! I know you do not wish to hear the worst of reality, but it is true! But that is not all! If we succeed..! No! When we succeed! there will be stories for the centuries!”

I could see the men start to cheer a bit with my speech so I continue. “Some will be true and some will be false, but regardless the point is clear! We are separated from our king and we are still able to come together to save him! Tell me of a nation that won’t beg and weep for their gods and I will give my full respect to that nation! We are at humanity's darkest hour, But with our darkest hour will be the beginning to our greatest light! No more shall we be a shadow that the world does not recognize! From now on we will be a force to be reckoned with! For the Human Kingdom! I screamed at the top of my lungs.

The whole Dockyard was covered in cheers for the Human Kingdom.

As we began to set sail I look one last time to my home. I think to myself this will not be the end. We will succeed… but I still can’t stop thinking about Alex… he must feel so…

(Alex POV)

“Bored…” I slightly cry to myself. It has been one week in neither army as a standard to make a move. Don’t give me wrong I don’t want to hurt people but I wish there were something more I can do.

Both army share the same border and pretty much an equal number in men. The problem is if we make one move to attack The enemy can easily surround us… but if they make the first move to attack we can do the same to them so now it’s a stalemate. Both sides have scouts reporting in daily of what each of us are doing but nothing really has changed.

I take a look at my notes making sure I have everything memorized.

Aileach a kingdom of Orcs:

Armies: 1

Average amount of soldiers in each army: 750

Friends: Mide a kingdom of Goblins (are the vassal of this kingdom)

Enemies: Connacht a kingdom of Orcs.
Hlymrekr a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
Tuadmuma a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
The New Human Kingdom “the” kingdom of humans. Ulaid Kingdom of Orcs.

Currently: The kingdom of Aileach just lost a big battle with Connacht making them lose in an entire army. The last remaining army is battling is the kingdom of Ulaid

Friends: Mide a kingdom of Goblins (are the vassal of this kingdom)

Enemies: Connacht a kingdom of Orcs.

Tuadmuma a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
The New Human Kingdom “the” kingdom of humans.

Currently: they lost the battle at Hlymrekr with the aid of Tuadmuma. Even though they lost the battle they were able to keep the five ballistas.

Friends: Aileach and Osraige.

Enemies: Connacht a kingdom of Orcs.
Hlymrekr a kingdom of Fire Spirits.
Tuadmuma a kingdom of Fire Spirits.

Currently: The kingdom of Mide easily conquered Breifne but lost the battle at Tuadmuma. With this humiliation and the king dead his son now king Rupert pulled whatever man he could for one last army. There will be no reinforcements this was it.

We currently stand at me, Gabe, Eric and five medics. Along with:

Tuadmuma Fire Spirits soldiers; 360
Hlymrekr Fire Spirits soldiers; 350
Connacht Orc soldiers; 660
Total; 1370

They only stand at 1240 not including Aileach. Even though we outnumber them I still do not want to risk it for glory.

I read over the notes again and noticed something I missed. Mide had conquered Breifne… I started thinking of a plan. If we were to retake Breifne and liberate it fast enough that would cut off Aileach and Mide. Leaving them from our allies and making us gain one more.

If were slow we can still retake it and set up an ambush to destroy them and take the north of this island.

I checked the Maps and make sure my information was correct. They should probably have 50 soldiers at least there to keep the peace. So if we Bring a small amount of troops as a liberating force the people might ride up and we will outnumber them.

I am going to bring 10 soldiers from each kingdom and two medics. This is it Breifne is the key to winning of this war.

(One week later)

With the blessings of King Ea, Unitas and Oscar I was able to get 10 men for each of their kingdom to accompany me.

I was hoping to be a little bit faster with my 32 men but no matter it is time to liberate Breifne.

Because I’m in a hurry and I didn’t think of a proper plan I’m just gonna do it my way and wing it from there.

I tell my man to wait for the signal as I walk up to the gate of Breifne. “Open up!” I shout… surprisingly it worked. I could see the gates open up a little bit and finally a girl decided to pick over to see who they were talking to… when they noticed that it was me I can hear frantic shooting in the gates started to close again with a burst of speed I rush over and hold the gate open.

My men seem to be shocked but knowing that this was the single, rush forward and began to pour into the gate. I started to question on how that actually worked. ‘Why the hell did I do that, was I out of my mind? Well no time to question that now's I thought as I saw the last of my men run into the city.

Just like Tuadmuma The walls were very similar. I started focussing on the mission and I noticed that most of the goblins were unprepared and were scattering it seems like most of the enemy didn’t even have their basic equipment on as they ran.

I was very surprised when we took the city very easily in the next couple minutes. The enemy was stupid opening the gates first then looking out. They were unprepared when they should always be prepared. And finally the highest rank here was a corporal.

With the way these soldiers were trained this spelt doom from the beginning. Only a single one of us was injured and that was not even from the enemy. The Orc simply fell on an enemy spear that was dropped and slightly cut his cheek. I brought the best of the best to only meet children.

Well I guess I can’t be really that mad. At least not a single one of us died. Now I can get on to more important business. Get the medics to help the civilians get the rest of the men here to retake a simple town to the east and get this place defended in case of a quick counterattack.

I stood before the people of Breifne and started to speak. “Today I stand here not as your conqueror but as your liberator. For too long Mide idea of conquering the North had put thousands to death already. But we can end this now. If you join us we will retake the north and become the true power of the north. I will not force you into something that you do not have to do but we are retaking the small town as well to the east so that Breifne can finally live in peace once again.”

I walkway letting them think about it and begin to prepare for a counterattack which should be soon.
