Chapters Warframe: Relic Hunters Realization
Chapter 1: Crash and Burn
Voidless. Nothing but an empty, white, nothingness consumed his all. It was a message, something from nothing. Vague? Compelling? Worth? I don’t say the merits it holds, only what is processed can truly hold value to you. Am I wrong?
You stand here, a boy with golden bravado on scene, among the lifeless drones of the commoners. So, I ask, to what end does this game foretell for you? A life of meaningless, roguish antics, laughter at the pain endured among the masses? Or, are you looking for something more?
So, howl all you want. It won’t change fate, it can’t wash your hands this time. Your whit gives you strength. But I ask, how much will it take to break you, to chip away at your being? Slowly. Painfully. Screaming .
Because, even I make mistakes. Like you .
[Grineer Galleon, Outer Rings of Saturn]
[Objective: Recover Orokin Artifact]
As the sound of the ship’s haul groaning in protest to the explosions from the outer hull continued and the sound of bullets ringing out from the wall it made contact with. It was all a lone Excalibur could hear ring through his helmet, his body hunched over in a protective stance, clutching a rare, Axi Relic, its golden sphere-like body gleaming with dust, whist bullets ran past its hide at neck-breaking speeds.
The Excalibur in question, who now threw himself into another room for a moment, looked down at his beaten armour. It was an immortal type, with white, and black for his primary and secondary scheme, whist a dark grey was his tertiary, followed by the blood red line across his accents, though it might have been Grineer blood, whist his sky-blue energy pulsed across his body, recharging his shields for the time being.
“Hey guys are you out of here yet!?” He shouted as he ran out of the room, kneeing a Grineer grunt in the jaw, before he rolled into the hall, continuing his escape with the relic
“Yes but what about you? Do you need any help or…” A British voice asked him on the other end, whist the sound of a shotgun recoiled in the background, and the Excalibur nearly grew pale, as the bullets flew from the wall beside him, narrowly scraping his armour
"Jesus Christ, I told you not to put corrosive on that thing, no wonder this Galleon's gone to shit, you've been fucking it dry!" Excalibur snapped, before he heard the man whistle on the other end
“I don’t see why you decided to send the 10 tone Rhino in and not the one with cloaking” Another spoke dryly
“Oi, you cheeky shit, don't make me put you in the box!?” The rhino ranted through the other Tenno's com, before a loud, metallic smack rang from the coms
"What, so you can watch me jump around, making your efforts useless, and thereby, proving my point that you're heavy?" The Tenno inquired, as the Excalibur shook his head, hearing the guy's head crack at his head meeting a wall. "Ow...."
“Would you two quit it, look I’ll meet you guys back at the relay, then you can argue about stealth later!” Excalibur groaned in vexation, whist the bullets struck his armour, but the doors to his Liset closed at the last second, before he felt his ship jolt from the landing zone
“Right, come on, peasant!" Rhino called to the other Tenno, before the coms went dark, leaving Excalibur to shake his head at his team's lack of...well anything resembling sanity, all the while, the ship twisted, and pulled at its destruction, before large pieces of the hull tore away from the ship
Excalibur then sighed as he set the key down on a desk and began to look out the large window before him and then realized the problem. The Grineer were under siege by the Corpus, and the Corpus were winning as their fleet struck down the Grineer with ease, he found it funny how the Corpus, and Grineer were basically the stalemate champions of the Origin System, since neither side truly held the upper-hand.
Taking the opportunity to rest, Excalibur checked his weapons were still attached to his armour. So he pulled off his Venka casings, placing them down on the desk, followed by his Lex Prime. He reached around his left shoulder, pulling the scabbard of his Dragon Nikana, before his hand grazed the last item on his person. Its smooth, carbon-fiber coat, whist red lines danced across the black paint, a few crimson lights on the handle. Dread.
". . . ." Excalibur was silent, placing the bow beside his other collection of weapons, a feeling of anger, and sadness crashing into him, whist his body flew into the right side of his Liset. "Mother-"
"Operator! Corpus ships have begun retaliating-THEY SAW US SIGHTSEEING-I will commence drastic measures, please hold on." Ordis replied warily, whist Excalibur moved to look outside the window, only to see the railgun-like ship turn in their direction
"Ordis....why does that look like a railgun?" Excalibur asked carefully, seeing the lights on the sides of the Corpus flag ship begin to hum to life among the black void. "Ordis!?"
"My scanners indicate it to be the prototype rail cannon, much like the one used against us with the Razorback Armada, but back then, it was only in the testing stages-BUT THEY'VE COMPLETED IT-!" Ordis screamed, whist the energy around us seemed to waver, as if being pulled towards the flag ship
"Ordis, can we warp out of here, anywhere's fine, just not here!?" Excalibur yelled to the Cephalon, his nerves beginning to tense at the sight of the blue, magnetized energy waves produced by the Corpus railgun, much to his fear for the other person on board. "I'll even take Eris for God sake, just do something!"
“Acknowledged Operator but won’t it be dangerous?-WE’RE GOING TO DIE!-oh sorry about that” Ordis responded as he glitched out as usual, before quickly adding. “But I haven’t calibrated the location!” He shouted back in a panic “For all we know we could end up in the darkest reaches of the system!”
“Fuck it. Don't care. HIT THE WARP DRIVE!" Excalibur panicked, before he felt his body crash into the back of his Liset, his head beginning to spin at the sight of Saturn becoming a pulled, drawn mess of colour, before his vision turned white
“Excalibur!”
. . .
“Excalibur!”
. . .
“WAKE UP YOU-Operator, are you alright? By the stars, we're alive, but I'm not to sure about the rest of me.” Ordis asked as Excalibur’s vision came to. much to his throbbing head
“Ok-ok, I’m up-and what in God’s name happened to my ship?” He asked as he saw the carnage from the crash but upside down until his foot slipped from a wire, his face planting itself into the deck again. "Is the relic safe?"
"Yes, but I detect several hull breaches, alongside our engines being completely shot, I might only be able to glide, but that's as far as we could go. Power is still operating at full capacity, but that's the good news." Ordis listed, making Excalibur shake himself to his feet, seeing that the window peaked out into a cave they dug into a hill
There were holes and large slash marks in the ship and wires hung down from the roof, sparking and tangled in a mess. The window was only cracked and faced the now rising sun as the green fields appeared into view as Excalibur got to his feet and walked down into the hull of his ship.
Upon reaching the lower deck, he looked at the small space to his left, past his mod station, where a lone, Orokin stasis pod rested, its occupant still soundly asleep inside, much to Excalibur's reassured smile, his hand rested against the glass.
"Atleast you're safe, sis." He spoke to himself. “Ordis, can you tell about this location or where we are?” Excalibur asked as he went back up to the bridge
“Yes here are the basic files” Ordis said as a holographic list showed up in his face
[Location: Earth, Equestria]
[Prime Location: Canterlot]
[Main Inhabitants: Humans]
[Corpus Faction: 0%]
[Grineer Faction: 0%]
[Infestation Faction: 0.2%, Location: Liset]
[Orokin Traces: 0%]
[Date: 14 September 2018, 21st Century]
[Time: 7:30 am]
“So… another Earth huh?” Excalibur paused before grinning under his helmet “Ordis label this on the star chart, and then see how long it would take to repair our ship using this planet's resources?”
“Here you are Excalibur” Ordis said only seconds after and soon the Hologram changed
[Estimated Time: 3 Years]
[Ferrite: Unknown]
[Similar Metals: Found]
[Metals: Reinforced Steel and Titanium, nano tubing, lead]
[Energy Source: Uranium or Plutonium, plasma]
Then Excalibur’s heart dropped like a rock as he groaned at his bad luck.
"You're telling me, that of all the planets to crash on, we landed on the single, most useless one. I take back, I'll go to Eris, hell, I'll even take Ceres, at least the acidic rain would be comforting!" Excalibur ranted, running his helmet's temples. "Better yet, where can I gather Uranium?"
“Ebay” Ordis said simply, making Excalibur pause
“You serious? Huh, the more you know." Excalibur nodded in realization, before Ordis turned the hologram to a map of a massive town, making him turn his head to look at it clearly
“Well, if I may add, you could try something, mind you it’s not efficient but it may help us gain some intel about this world as well as keep a low profile whist you make repairs” Ordis recommended
“Oh… What did you have in mind” Excalibur asked, growing more optimistic about his current situation
“Ordis, if I die, I'll haunt you." Excalibur chuckled dryly, his eyes scanning through the papers in his hand, whist he ruffled his wild, black hair, a few blue highlights running through it, whist his golden, and black mixed eyes blinked slowly
He now wore a simple, short sleeved, white jacket, with gold stripes running up the arms and the sides of the zipper. He also wore black, and grey trainers along with black jeans and lastly an ultramarine shirt underneath. But on his arm was a small, bracelet, with Latin words spelling out, 'Relic Hunter', with the insignia of a rough 'R' edged into the silver metal.
"Why, in all of the known universes, would a school hire a strange individual to teach science? I mean, I get that my experience is over one thousand years, but if were talking appearances, I look to be eighteen by normal human socity." Excalibur grumbled to himself, watching strangely, colorful students walking past him, but to be fair, it was better than infested. "Much....much better than infested."
[CHS Principles Office]
The situation was tense, more-so for Excalibur or by his real name, Cal, ironic, given his Warframe, but by far the worst thing he's had to do is sit in-front of a 'questionable' Principle, as she checked through all the information Ordis had compiled for him, the rest was all up to Excalibur's quick wit.
"-Now, I do have one question about your legal age." Excalibur felt his spine freeze in the chair. "It says you're 18, correct?"
"Yes? I don't see the problem there, due to this country's legal laws, I'm the legal age to work, no matter the profession." Excalibur elaborated, whist Celestia nodded, but her frown remained, her eyes looking directly at Cal's impassive ones, staring for a few seconds before she continued
"You are aware that the gender distribution of the school is heavily on females, right?" Excalibur raised an eyebrow, of course he knew this, since his walk inside made it clear that girls outranked boys, but he more pressing concerns besides a crappy school job
"I don't care about that, ma'am, I just need a good paying job to keep me stable until my sister is well again to work herself." Cal answered, his lie was far more diluted. Since she was.....well he didn't wish to dwell on that day, not if he could help it. "I just want to expand on what people of my age find 'taxing', 'dull', if I was there age, or roughly that of, it could help break that typical boundary between teacher and student."
"Ordis, I'll say it again, if this fails, I will haunt you, and I'll get you; make it look like a bloody accident!" Cal snapped into his earpiece, sighing in frustration as he entered the classroom, thankfully, he had fifteen minutes to get up-to-date on all that he needs to know for the lesson, to which, it was all child's play. "Lets see....solar systems.....space stuff? Ok, I can do this!"
"Do what exactly?"
"GAH!" Cal yelped at the sudden extra voice, his body dropping to the desk for a moment, before he turned his body around to see who responded to his self-questioning, what he got was not what he was expecting
It was girl, most likely seventeen, given the school's age range, but a frown was near stuck to her face, but her ultramarine eyes seemed passive. Her eyes stared at him through her sky-blue hair, which reached her shoulders, she wore a black, sleeveless jacket, with a purple star split down the zipper, a white shirt underneath it. She wore a violet skirt, along with knee-length, white socks, followed by her white and black sneakers.
"Umm....hey, who are you?" Cal asked, slightly taken back by her appearance, being so similar, but contrasting at the same time
"I was going to wait around early, since my free period was up, then I saw you in here, who are you anyway?" She asked in return, but Cal flew back onto a chair behind him, spinning in the seat
"I believe I asked first, love." Cal retorted, so the girl breathed through her nose, then she held a hand out to him
"Skyler."
"Cal, at your service, quite literally in about....ten minutes." Cal greeted, moving to flick through the notes on the desk before him, much to Skyler's curiocity
"What are you doing?" She repeated, before Cal pointed to the sheet in his hand
"Getting ready to teach, what else?" He answered as if it was obvious, but Skyler just stared at him for a moment, her head tilted
"You're the teacher? You ?" Skyler was skeptical, finding a boy near her age, who happened to be the teacher was really strange, but as she watched him work, muttering to himself, he did seem to know what he was doing, and the way he looked at the key information before him was certainly of a higher degree than a teen looking to cheat on an upcoming test
"You can take a seat if you want, I don't really have any strict rule-set, so do whatever until class starts." Cal waved to her, his eyes glued to the sheet before him. "Bloody child's play this is...."
[Ten Minutes Later]
The class was now full of different students, with most talking, and messing around in their respective groups, whist Cal heard the bell ring, indicating his time to start teaching, but just like Skyler, he knew they were going to be skeptical, so he decided to play along for the time being. His golden-black eyes glancing to the curious Skyler, before he cleared his throat, slamming his fist on the desk, catching everyone off guard, even he was surprised, since he put a dent in the table.
"Whoops." He blinked, but taking the silence, and prying eyes drawn to him, he cleared his throat again, standing up with a neutral expression. "Now then, who hear knows of the substitute science teacher taking over for this year? Just curious is all?"
"We all have, apparently a new one was meant to show up for this lesson?" Sunset answered, as Cal's eyes looked to the bacon-haired girl, before he smiled a little
"Right-o, not to waste time, since I care little for such a thing, lets get this started." Cal answered her, making many mumble to themselves, more about his position as a teacher, causing his head to hit the desk in deflation, his finger raised in the air. "Ok then, guess I'll make my rules clear from the get-go."
In an instant, Cal was back to his stance, his eyes piercing the hearts of many in the class, causing all mumbling to cut themselves off, then he grinned wickedly.
"Lets make this easy to understand. I have only two rules, you follow my instructions to the letter, especially when we get to the more 'life-threatening' stuff later in the year. Two....and I make this....very.....clear." Cal's voice dropped, causing many to freeze at the tension, before he smiled. "Any late reports will be dealt with....extreme measures , other than that, please try to pay attention, for someone of my age, I do have the knowledge to make this as easy, but informative as possible."
Many dropped at his change in tone, whist Skyler seemed to smirk at that, finding this 'teacher' to be more than he lets on, much to her shock, and awe, but if he was to be her teacher, she'd deal with it, whist Sunset seemed to have a far more difficult time trying to put it all together.
"I can't see this guy being a teacher, I mean, there's Princess Twilight, but this is stretching it." Sunset whispered to Skyler, but she only shrugged
"In all honesty, lets give it a shot, he seems to have a more positive outlook than the last one, that might actually make this more enjoyable, even to you, and its you we're talking about." Skyler replied with an even look, whist Sunset nodded in agreement
"Right, guess we'll start with the more....historical side of things, get the backbone cleared first....So, it all started by an unknown occurrence in the ether of void-" Cal started, his enjoyment of his hidden persona already becoming far more interesting than slaying legion of horrid factions for so long
What he didn't realize, was that his life wasn't going to be cut a short break, much like all occurrences in nature, there must always be balance with all that seek to disrupt it.

Chapter 3: Winds of Destruction
Author's Note
I must apologize for all viewers, be warned, there are many, MANY electric jokes, if you wish to avoid bad, painful, or suicidal inducing puns, pleased tread lightly. Other than that, enjoy!
P.S. I do not condone the use of puns in any environments not quarantined.
Chapter 3: Winds of Destruction
[Cafeteria]
The rumbling force of thunder echoed around me, my eyes staring aimlessly out the window that was drowned in rain, the black clouds overhead making it feel more like dusk than mid-day, with the occasional crack of lightning across the the canvas of the sky, bright magenta plasma stretching like web in the wake of the powerful monsoon.
Its been a week. Seven days, two hours, forty-seven minutes, and over ten seconds. I was not hearing the end of what happened over that amount of time. Turns out the whole media outlet in general is going crazy about this 'Tenno' stuff, with many trying to understand who they are, what they are, rinse and repeat. I liked it, but even I was beginning to grow tired of the same thing 'I DID'.
My face hit the table before me, trying to wash away the conversations, with most being about me, my sister, and our newly added member, Gara, or by her name, Ceres. She was shy, but kind in all regards, not that getting glass fired faster than a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, travelling at several times the speed of sound, at my face was any indication of such.
Her outside appearance was blonde hair, reaching her lower back, with green eyes under her bangs, along with a few freckles on her cheeks. Meanwhile, the hyperactive nutcase I call my sister was busy making friends with the others from my class, ironically that being a literal thing. Then, she laughed. A lot.
"Hahahaha-C-Cal's the-hahahaha-hehehe, that is tooooo rich, I t-think Jack's words finally got to you~!" She was clutching her stomach, a few bandages around her arms from the recovery she was going through, even if she said she was fine, Ordis said they would help with the wounds still left on her body, though she didn't seem to mind. "I can't b-breathe!"
"If you want me to leave you locked in a locker, keep talking, soulless." I muttered, seeing her pout at me coyly, her shoulder-length, dandelion hair falling between her bright red eyes
"Aww, is big ol' Cal upset?" She was taunting me, so I kicked her under the table, making her yelp. "Hey, still injured you know!?"
"Really, because from here that smug look was the most painful thing written on your face." I grinned, seeing her eye twitch, before she crossed her arms, averting her gaze
"Jerk."
"Dumbass."
"Nerd."
"Lap-dog."
"'Lap-dog'?" Sunset finally broke off our name-calling, before I smiled devilishly, seeing Valkyr's eyes widen, as she shook her hands frantically, but I ignored her
"Oh, well that's easy, Sunset, you see my sister has a-"
"NOOOOOO! DISTRACTION~!" I was silenced by the tray knocking me flying off my stool, my head hitting the floor as she panted, the tray now bent with the imprint of my face, when I looked up, I saw Skyler looking down at me, her expression on of confusion, before she held a hand out to me
"Seems your girl troubles have began, congratulations." She mused, lifting me off the ground
"Yeah, well my sister has the tenancy to, HIT before thinking!" I snapped, her red face sheepishly laughing
"Valkyr: 1, Cal: 0." Dash grinned, whist me, and Skyler sat back down, before Ceres spoke up
"Umm, Cal?" At her call, my head turned to her. "I just wanted to know, what did happen to Valkyr, if you don't mind me asking?"
I paused for a moment, seeing the look of guilt on my sister's face, whist Sunset, Dash, Pinkie, and Skyler looked at me with curious expressions. I was silent though, it wasn't pleasant, that day.....it was haunting.
"She....Valkyr was injured during a disaster in another country, an earthquake, it.....I can't say more on it, sorry." I lied, but it was a disaster, since not many injuries showed up, most were deaths....bloody, mangled corpses on the ground
"I-i'm sorry for bringing it up, I was just worried about her being here, after recovering for so long." Ceres was a nice girl, she only really wanted to help, media wasn't helping her case of 'Gara', since they saw her as a threat, and some saw me, and my sister as such, but only a few
"Its fine! Geez, Cal, stop worrying so much!" I felt the hand lightly tap my head, seeing Valkyr bent over the table to smile at me. "If I didn't feel ok, I wouldn't be here, honest! Its like what Nekril told me once, 'An idiot fights, but doesn't know when to stop, but a warrior fights, but knows when to rest." Huh, never thought of it that way
Then I smugly grinned, my head against hers with a dark chuckle.
"So, you do listen to his advice, hmm? Aww, how cute." I got her, her face instantly retracted, a blush burned onto her face, whist Skyler seemed to catch on as I sat back down
"I think I got the idea now, it is cute, adorable even." I finally broke into a fit of laughter, seeing Skyler smiling too, whist the others joined in on my taunting, much to my sister's despair, her head sinking into her arms, and I swore I saw steam rise from her head
"Hey-Hey-Hey! Its another one!" We all turned to Pinkie, who was looking down at Dash's phone, where a live coverage had appeared. It was a complete rainstorm outside, it hadn't stopped since ten, but from where the reporter was standing, he was just below a construction site, where the storm clouds seemed to converge, almost like a hurricane, heck, even with the volume up, it was still difficult to hear
"-The weather as been ceaseless since this morning, with heavy rainfall, and large winds, I urge everyone to stay indoors until it passes, which may be far more difficult than meteorologists first figured." The camera then zoomed to the sky, near the tallest spire on the half, constructed building supports
It was dark, but the lightning, struck enough on his body to see his face. Dark blue armour, with purple, and yellow accents, and lines, with a thin horn on its helmet, its arms crossed as it balanced on the metal lighting rod. It was Volt. Much to my sister, and Ceres' surprised looks.
"Again?" Skyler added to our thoughts, whist some onlookers stared over their backs, attracting a crowd. That gave me a split-second to act, my fingers pointing to the door, so my sister quickly leapt up, leaving causally, whist I nodded to Ceres, her eyes glimmering with understanding as I left
"This isn't going to end well...." I warily gulped, throwing the doors open
Me and Valkyr now stood at the foot of a building, overlooking the massive metal spire that looked like buckets of water were being thrown over the sides, with lightning electrifying the lake of rainfall below, so all officers on-scene could only watch as the Volt danced across each lightning rod, the bolts of plasma striking his body, which only added to the near completed super-storm above his head.
"-I'm singing in the rain~!" Even from here, I was cringing at the horrid sound of the now labeled 'Idiot's' singing, whist he pointed his Amphis towards the officers below, lightning beginning to coil around the tesla bobbles on the end of the staff, before I massive bolt of lightning struck the ground inches from the officers, knocking a handful of them back from the impact. "Shocking, they didn't die...."
"Is everything this guy says a terrible pun?" Valkyr questioned, before I drew my Dread, pulling the string back, a thin wire attached to the end of the arrow, piercing the scaffolding with ease. "Umm, wait....isn't that-"
"Now then, if he's done making puns, I suggest we take this opportunity...." I began, but I didn't pay much mind to my sister's waving arms, seeing her point to the metal wire
"Excalibur, wait! Its a lightning-"
*SPLATT-Thud*
"-Storm...."
Ow. Ow. Ow. Owwwww. Lightning....plus metal wire, equals....ow.
"That odda light up your world!" I heard the distant laughter of Volt, as my body quickly ignored the electrification, slamming a fist into the roof with a groan at the cringe reaching every fiber of my being within a few seconds, his body now alight with red flames
"Im'ma kill him, I'll make it look like a bloody accident." I grumbled, grabbing the wire, before I janked it out from the support beam, before I swung it in the open air. My irritation only made my arm swing it faster, to the point that it stopped raining around me, and Valkyr. "So....you wanna tell jokes, then I got a real catch for you!"
"Please stop....?" My sister groaned at my own joke, before I threw the wire directly at Volt, before I felt the arrow connect to something hard, as my body was pulled forward slightly by the sudden pull of gravity. "Nice shot."
"Grab on, quickly." I held my hand out, feeling my weight begin to topple, so she did as I said, before we were flung across the gap between streets, as we flew into the level beneath Volt's feet, as the wire fell to the ground below, leaving us in the dry cover for a moment. "Now then, where's the stairs?"
I felt Valkyr poke me, making my head turn towards the concrete stairs ahead of us, so I pulled up my trusty Lex, pointing the barrel at the stairs, before I pulled the trigger, allowing the high-caliber round to ricochet off the wall of the stairs, the bullet flying up the flight, before I heard something fall back.
"OW!" Volt met my joke alright. "Dammit, take a joke sometime!"
"Bite me, asshole!" I snapped, before I felt the ceiling above me shake. But Valkyr had already moved ahead, throwing herself on top of me, as we watched the Amphis strike through the ceiling, crushing the concrete with a burst of lighting, followed by a stray bolt striking the ground near us, causing me to roll Valkyr beneath me as the bolt struck the ground
"Are you done making him mad?" Valkyr asked me, butting her helmet against mine. "'Cause I'm allergic to dying, in the face."
"Why the face?" I questioned, before I moved off of her, facing the now retracting Amphis, so I pulled my Dread out again, firing a weak shot into the wires around the staff's grip, jamming the bo staff in-place. "You ready to take this outside?"
"Sure!" At her call, she drew her Cernos from her back, holding an arrow to the string
When we made it onto the roof, the rain poured down on us, whist Volt managed to pull his Amphis through the ground, pointing an end at us menacingly. Then he chuckled like a hyena.
"How's this for a show? I thought the open air could allow us to really make a connection!" Volt exclaimed, making the two of us groan in pain, whist the whirling sound of helicopter blades sung around us, obviously the new reporters getting another story to speak of, if we succeeded. "'Course, that's if this shocking encounter doesn't become your last!"
"Does everything that goes through your head sound normal to you?" Valkyr cried in pure emotional pain, whist I gave up on listening to him croak like a toad, leaving him to drop his staff's guard, humming to himself
"Well you're a buzz kill." He bluntly stated, before he leapt onto the spire behind him, allowing a few stray bolts to strike him, energizing his body with pure, concentrated plasma, which would only add to his power. "Lets see you grit your teeth!"
Now that he was getting seriously, my eyes noticed the gold poking out from behind his neck, the same device as Ceres', whoever was control them, they knew someone stopped their plan from a week ago, what that plan was is beyond me, or why they chose this planet so far from any known system. However, I needed to focus on the important task ahead. Shutting the clown down.
"You ready, Berserker?" I called Valkyr by her alias, as she nodded, pulling her Cernos back, whist Volt switched to his Soma, electricity bouncing off the barrel as he loaded a clip
"Ready!"
"Horizon Zero!" I called out to her, as I ran to my right, hearing the electrical shot strike the ground behind me, as I leapt behind a wall, seeing the bullets fly through the wall as I peaked out to see his Soma pointed at my sister
Her Cernos first released an arrow at Volt's feet, only to see the electricity catch it, dropping it by his foot like a magnet. Which made it clear that he was doing just that, using the lightning storm he made to create a natural Energy Shell so he could overcharge his Soma rounds.
Valkyr then slid on the flooded ground, firing multiple arrows towards the supports of the spire, striking them with ease as the tower buckled under Volt, but he quickly used his left hand to throw a bolt of lightning at Valkyr, striking her in a flash of purple, knocking her flying into building supplies. Then he raised his Soma, before unleashing a bombardment of rounds, causing Valkyr to roll herself behind the supplies, as cement, bricks, and other debris rained atop her back.
"Aww, is the little Tenno all out of power?" Volt taunted, whist I continued my stealthy maneuver around his location, using every object in my range as cover, whist keeping an eye on Valkyr, and Volt, who now pointed his hand out to Valkyr's defence. "Here, this odda be a SHOCK!"
At the next pun, he fired another highly-charged bolt of purple lightning, as it webbed its way towards my sister, only for a stray arrow to redirect the bolt far to her left, before we watched the arrow burn in the air from the contact of electricity. Now, Volt looked particularly frozen at his own conductive power used against him.
"Aww, is the little Tenno all out of tricks?" Valkyr retorted with a cute voice, as I visible saw Volt shake, before he continued his assault of Soma rounds without question. Taking my opportunity, I fired my arrow into a support beam to my left, its wire attached to another arrow as I turned to my right
"What, all out of jokes? No more words to fail? Is the big boy all grumpy now~?" Valkyr continued to taunt him with every ounce of humor she could muster, so much so, that I lost my sight at the stray bolt ripping through the ground in front of me, taking large chunk of the floor with it. "Really, more lightning? Can you get anymore bland?"
"Shut up. Shut Up. SHUT UP!" He lost it, turns out my deduction was right, those devices evoked negative emotions more to cloud their sense of control, but that was also its great flaw. Much like Ceres, Volt was prone to destructive fits of anger, all because of the Orokin Arcane
I even looked at the sky, seeing the helicopter fly lower to avoid being stuck by a stray bolt. With my target completely focused on my sister, I fired the final bolt into the support beam, creating a strong, horizontal wire across the back of the building.
"Hey, buzz kill, ever seen an electric chair? If not, I'll give you a real stunning show stopper!" Volt screamed, the electricity building around his body again, as I leapt into the wire, the cord bending back at my increased body weight, before I extended my feet, seeing the chopper fly into view of Volt leaping from the spire, a trail of purple behind him
At his descent, my sister screamed into his falling body, paralyzing him on the spot, before she screamed again, an orange aura now coating my body at the touch of sound, and fury, before I released my feet, my feet pointed down as I shot like a bullet towards Volt. Only for me to watch as Valkyr pointed behind him, much to my laughing.
"Drop this, 'Buzz Kill'!" I snapped, my feet connecting with his face at such a velocity that I heard glass shatter in the background, followed by parts of his helmet, whist my body flew past my sister, and off the top floor of the skyscraper
Using my momentum from Valkyr's roar, I spun my legs round, grabbing the handle of my Nikana, before I felt the helicopter buckle from my added pounds, my feet connecting with the side, leaving indents in the metal cockpit, then I thrusted my legs out, leaping through the air towards Volt, who now raised his Amphis to his left, swinging it, and a wave of electricity my way.
I took my risk, and flew into the wave of overcharged plasma, pulling my blade out at the split-second impact, striking Volt diagonally right upwards, followed by a front-flip swinging the blade through his left shoulder, knocking his guard down from the spray of blood. When I landed, my body shaking with electricity pumping into my armour. I turned on my heel, before I slashed the device horizontally, slicing the arcane in two, another round of void energy releasing at the contact my blade made, striking my chest again with a painful jab of energy.
In that moment, I fell to my knees, planting my blade in the concrete to stabilize myself, my left hand resting on the hilt for support. Meanwhile, Volt dropped to his knees, his body soon flopping down in a heap at Valkyr's feet, whist she sighed in relief, dropping down to her butt.
"Thank....God!" She cheered, falling back as she sighed, dropping her Cernos. "I'll take glass to the face any-day, just....no more lightning or puns, please?"
"Aye, sir." I nodded, before I heard the helicopter overhead, whist the sound of the rain ceased, along with the faint sound of birds chirping in the background. "Heh, would you look at that, the sun's back?"
At my call, we looked around us to see the sun break through the storm clouds, the once chaotic monsoon now dissipating along with Volt's power. The light of day finally broke the once darkened day, allowing me to feel the warmth of the afternoon strike my helmet, the rain dripping from my armour in pure bliss.
"I like this...." I then turned to look at my sister, who now sat cross-legged on the ground. "Being able to take a more relaxed break."
"You call this 'relaxing'? I was electrocuted twice, and you more-so than me?" I bluntly pointed the obvious, but she giggled lightly, looking off towards the helicopter, waving happily at the cameraman
"You think the others will find us? Nekril? Jack?" Valkyr asked me softly, but her voice sounded distant, and I couldn't blame her, even if it was only a week, how much longer than that be? A month? A year? More? The thought still lingered in my mind, ever since the railgun incident back on Saturn. "What if they-"
"We'll find them again, we always had a gift for finding each other." I refused to let her say it, not after we just got a moment to breathe, then I pointed to my chest, where a Heart symbol slowly resonated under my armour, shimmering blue as I touched it. "After all, we are Relic Hunters."
". . . . Hehehe, yep, but now we have Volt, and Gara!" Valkyr finally chirped up, as the birds flew past us, and the unconscious Volt
"Yeah, we still have a team. No matter what come our way next."

To Be Continued....
Cal: One more pun, I swear to God!
Jarvis: I get it, even I can kill the switch sometimes.
Ceres: Umm, Jarvis? Y-You did it again, sorry.
Jarvis: Hehehe, Cal, why do you have a Galatine?
Valkyr: Hey guys, I have an awesome idea!?
Cal: Does it involve feeding Jarvis to Honeybadgers?
Valkyr: Nope-Well maybe- Its time to make a new headquarters!
Ceres: I'd like that.
Cal: *Sigh* Fine....

[Canternlot High - Class C7]
"Agh....this is soooo booooooring!" Valkyr groaned, smacking her head off the desk again, making my eye twitch, sure, there was nothing left to do in class, so I let them go my standards, 'have fun for the hour', and that they did, since I avoiding another paper airplane, flicking the paper construct up with a finger under my eye, as it struck the ceiling, wedging the tip into the crack between the ceiling panels, along with six others. I won't lie, I too was bored out of my mind
"Yeah, well I couldn't give a damn, so shut it." I grumbled beside her, flicking through a 'very' old generation of an IPhone, to say this world was like ours in the past was an understatement, their tech was vastly outdated by my standards, but hey, I appreciate the classics. "We only have five more minutes, anyways."
"Still hasn't stopped her from constantly asking about the time though." Skyler added, her head on the desk beside me, though the close contact was a little unnerving, I just watched her finger continue to flick a pencil up.......and down the table, her eyes glued to the groundbreaking activity in-front of her, then her ultramarine eyes titled to look at me with a curious gaze. "So, how's your, ahem, 'roommate', as I heard you grumble about before class?"
Aye, she was right about that, Volt, or in this case, Jarvis, had taken up residence in our home, though he wasn't in CHS with us due to his....assistance in gathering the resources for our new Clan location, since my Liset made a fundamental crash into the side of a mound near a forest, I decided to use it, and the cave systems behind the dirt as our new location of operations, and repairs, since we're all stuck here without our Lisets or communications.
"Surprisingly, he's really efficient when it comes to making deals with contractors for certain furniture and household appliances, if only the puns would be just as efficient...." I sighed, rubbing my temples again at the mere thought of his 'puns', I'd would rather die than listen to him ramble, hence why he is staying faaaaar away from this bloody school, where I, and my sister, along with Ceres, who was currently in an art class, could be at peace. "Overall, not a bad guy, just an idiot."
"Hmm, seems your life if full of interesting people, so, where do I sit?" Skyler's abrupt question made me sit up straight, with Valkyr stopping her conversation with Sunset and Dash, all eyes now on me for an answer, but Skyler shrugged with her usual, neutral smile. "Just wondering, since you have this habit of summing up others for simplicity, not that I can't agree, its rather funny watching your sister get flustered so easily."
"H-hey, just because I like Morana, doesn't mean I-well, not 'like-like'- but you know what I mean!?" My sister everyone, a badass Tenno, but a flustered girl underneath, yay for me....Anyways, I did think about it for a moment, surprisingly, I never really had one for Skyler, to sum her up, she was smart, funny at times like this, can be a little too logical at times and can get easily distracted, but overall, she was fun to chat with, even if it has nothing to do with anything in particular
"Well....I think you're....just fine as you are." I answered honestly, scratching the back of my neck, with the others looking between us. "I find you to just be a great friend, not like the rest that treat me as a teacher or as their superior, just....as a friend."
Now her face did change slightly, her eyes kept searching my own sky-blue eyes for a sign of something misleading or dark, but slowly, she smiled honestly and kindly, blinking once with a nod of understand, making my relax a little.
"Then, Cal, I'm happy to be considered your friend, even if you exaggerate sometimes." Skyler responded modestly, but I wouldn't push it, not yet anyways
"The boss is all flustered now, quite the spark to witness!" .....What. Was. That?
My head suddenly turned to the new, cocky voice in the room. The air around me grew cooler in sensation, whilst my eyes narrowed at the sight of the boy. His hair was a jet black, with strands of blue striking through it, as it stood upwards, spiky, his eyes were a purple tone, whist he wore a blue tank top, with his black jacket wrapped around his waist, where his dirty cargo shorts sat, tan in colour too. His leather boots were also covered in mud, and gravel from the cave, as my eyes twitched.
"Jarvis....what are you doing here? Or better yet, what's to say I don't give you a lesson on shutting the front door?" I offered, grabbing a pen by my hand, with an equally pissed off Skyler cracking her knuckles
"W-wait, I was joking, no need to be a dud about it." I'll kill him. I will. Seems Skyler had the same plan, as she stepped off her seat, with me following closely in toe. "Cal?"
"Ok class, with assistance from Skyler here, we're gonna discuss how to 'fix' an electrical wire, and how to 'seal' the laceration along with wire." I grunted, as I pulled out a roll of duck-tape from my pocket, whist phones quickly raised from under the desks of many students. Jarvis tried to run, but he quickly screamed like a girl, seeing Valkyr standing with the door to her back, as she silently hummed to the beat of her headphones, her eyes closed, and her body unmoving to Jarvis' tugs to pull her away. "Careful those in the front, it might be splash zone...."
[Outskirts of Canterlot]
[Several Hours Later]
"For the last time, we didn't order a giant trampoline." I was losing it. It had been a few hours since playing the role of a teacher had passed my mind, now I was stuck in a bind. Turns out the bellend Jarvis bought a bunch of other stuff at random to help 'improve' on my original designs, saying it wasn't 'fun' enough. That was easily solved with a switch claw to the back of his head from my sister
The plan was a simple grid formation. Two grand halls down the middle, with small hallways starting from the bottoms and middle sections of the dojo, which would encompass the two massive halls, forming a six-grid square. So our research and communications hub would be in the center, whist things like training rooms, meditation and medical wards to the rim of the grid, alongside an elevator on each side to reach the reactor levels below us, and our personal quarters above us. About the only section above ground was the entrance where I 'Landed' my Liset, but everything else was below us through a smaller elevator.
The colours would be a mixture for each floor. Personal Quarters were blues, silvers, and whites. Main Floor is reds, blacks and grey, with a hint of white. Reactor Level is yellows, golds, greys and silvers. What we didn't need was this delivery man giving us a bloody trampoline!
"Hey, you could have told me that, before I set it up." He argued calmly, while the thought of revealing our location was a bad move, it really wasn't, several people knew of its location due to my, ahem, 'Landing', so far not a soul had bothered us, probably because security would be nigh-impossible to break, which they're right
"Ok-ok-ok-ok....I'll take the bugger, just....next time 'that' idiot-!" I then pointed to Jarvis, who was currently working on the electrical grid atop the roof of the massive cave. "-Buys anything with 'my' account, just decline him."
"Kids these days." The man shook his head, and I nodded
"I know, right?" Grabbing the pen, I quickly signed off the ridiculous item, and waved the man off, oh right, we're wearing our armour if that wasn't obvious. Moving past the trampoline, whist purposeful snapping one of the springs for Jarvis to realize later, I made my way under the overhang, overlooking the progress made
The entrance was rigged with our basic water, electricity, and oxygen stations, both small and silent, with spotlights lining the ceiling above me. Ahead at the back was a small stairway leading to a catwalk, where a circular tube hung open, my sister inside the elevator itself, working on the weight distribution since Warframe's were seriously heavy, alongside our equipment. How did she do this? Threw herself in, a bunch of random items, and most of 'MY' weapons too. But upon the pile, placed neatly atop a box was actually a picture frame.
It was her outside her armour, with a guy wrapping an arm around the back of her neck to hang limp off her shoulder. My sister was trying to use her dandelion hair to hide her glowing red face, whist the man stood with a smile of his own. He had long, black hair, covering his left eye where metal could be seen from the locks towards his nose. His eyes were a golden hue with a red tint to them. He also wore mostly black, much to my comments of how edgy he was, with faint designs of silver and red on the jacket, shirt, and shoes, his jeans being the only thing pure black.
"You miss him, don't you?" I spoke up, seeing my sister roll out from the pile, throwing a tool back to the pile behind her when she looked to the picture, while her helmet didn't show it, her body language suggested the answer clearly, she was worried about him. Moving closer, I placed my hand on her shoulder softly. "He's tougher than he looks, you know that better than anyone."
"I-I....he is, but....that doesn't mean I can't 'not' worry about him, right?" It was so strange, even after everything with the Orokin, the Old War, what Hunhow nearly did to us, my sister, who charged into gunfire without a moments hesitation, battled hardened in every aspect, yet she was ready to nearly crumble to her knees over her closet friend's safety, I couldn't blame her
"You know something, if I know him as well as I do, and I think I do, then he's probably looking for us, hell, he's more than likely forgotten about rest until he does." That little memo gave Valkyr her energy back, more to the point that she hugged me, placing her head on my chest. So I just held her there, patting her back gently
"Thanks....I....you know I...."
"I know, you....really aren't as hard to read as you say, sis." I chuckled at the thought, before I pulled away, pointed a finger to the cave entrance. "Here, I have an old friend I want you to meet." I clapped my hands twice, and from the shadows beside Jarvis, two eyes sprung to life
"Wait...ACK-ITS ON ME~!!!" He screamed like a girl when the infested creature leapt from the shadows, then atop Jarvis, sitting down on his chest as he hyperventilated, both me and Valkyr nearly toppled over in a fit of laughter. "I TOLD PABLO HE'LL GET HIS MONEY, I SWEAR!!!"
"Wait....Senketsu!?" My sister quickly leapt from the elevator to the ground within a second of realizing who it was. A Kubrow that I had found on Eris in an old Liset, turns out the egg had been exposed to the concentrated air the infested breathe that the effects of the Technocyte Virus, apparently it also wiped out Earth's population long ago, so the whole Orokin making weapons of it, and....well there's alot of conflicting evidence of how it came to be, and what happened, but essentially. Orokin make it worse, it infects a ship, that ship infested Eris, Eris is now home of Infested Hive-Mind, the end
He was a white and black, with the glowing spots on his body, and antenna across his body being tinted cherry red, his eyes were red too, as his segmented parts set themselves back in place, upon hearing my sister, to which it leapt off of Jarvis and happily panted, its infested tail wagging happily at the sight of her. Despite his....rather interesting appearance, my sister actually loved him like any other pet, so while I did bring my basically immortal dog on missions from time-to-time, when we were at our dojo, I'd let him roam, and mostly find him with Valkyr, sleeping. He was also a badass.
It was a rather touching moment to watch my sister run up and slide down to her knees before Senketsu, who happily sat before her, allowing my sister to rub the top of his head, giggling to herself when he would boop his muzzle against her helmet. Before long, she hugged him too, and I couldn't stop smiling at the sight of Senketsu lifting its right paw to rest on her shoulder, its head resting on her shoulder too. 'Man's best friend' indeed.
"Umm....why is Jarvis hanging from the ceiling?" Ceres came up to the base, and was just perplexed by the scene of Jarvis waving a stick in the direction of Valkyr and Senketsu, said two happily looking at Jarvis, with Senketsu barking at it, and Valkyr laughing
"Get 'em boy~!"
"I'm soooooooorry~" Jarvis cried pitifully, and all I did was wave to Ceres
"Welcome to Relic Hunters, Ceres."
"WHERE ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUUUUE...." Thank you, Ordis
[Space, Orbital distance From Earth - 100,584 Miles]
Between the orbital rotation of the Moon and Earth, sat a lone Flagship of grey metal and the twin hulls gave off a more sinister bulk of size and sense of power under the shadow of the Moon. It was a double hulled 'Stanchion' model, a highly dangerous warship of the Corpus. Inside the command station, sat a larger than normal Corpus Crewman, dawning red and silver equipment, with a large plasma rifle resting to the left side of the armchair, his helmet's gaze staring intently at the several screens that projected the exploits of an Excalibur, Gara, and Volt Warframes, but the last projected a rare target, the broken helmet and bulky gauntlets upon her armour were clear to him, as he pointed his hand towards the screen

Chapter 2: Shatter All Cloaks
[6 Hours Later]
[Cal's POV]
Are you happy about this? Is this really the right choice? What about your sister, what would she think? Are you happy about this?
I sighed, scratching my head, whist I took another drink of my milkshake, finding the taste near impossible not to sigh about, its flavor was boundless, even for a simple drink, it was by far the greatest thing to grace my lips, I hate to say it, but the Strata Relay has nothing on this.
"My sister would love this...." I blissfully smiled, enjoying my time alone since the whole ordeal with my Liset becoming grounded since dawn, yet, in only a few hours, I've had quite a normal life, albeit, with some issues regarding how the Origin System, and this Solar System were identical, with some minor changes
Was it really another part of my galaxy? Or was this another universe entirely? So many questions were left unanswered, and it bothered me, I felt more driven from the truth than before, maybe it was better not knowing the truth, seeing as I had more than a few problems, one being the gold I needed to completely synthesize Ferrite, which sadly, consisted of gold in its make-up.
"Hey....stop looking so down, Mister Grumpy~!" A voice chirped beside me, causing my eyes to shoot open, my hand nearly losing my drink at the sight of a 'very' pink girl, actually, she was almost too bright to stare at
"Hey, don't kill my easy pass on this grade, Pinkie, I need the nerd alive for that!" A girl-no, Rainbow Dash, the most egotistical student to grace the Earth, seriously, she made Jack bearable, either that, or they're a match made in heaven
"Great to know that I'm just an 'easy pass' as you put it, Skittles." I grunted, causing her to deflected warily
"Please don't degrade me for this, come on, you're a cool guy-not as cool as me-but, ow!" Dash was cut off by a familiar bacon-haired girl, her arm connecting with the back of Skittles' head
"What Rainbow meant was, sorry, right?" Sunset asked her, making the girl nod, whist I continued to drink, gesturing to the booth in front of me
"Sit, just because I'm a teacher, doesn't mean I'm not....a teenager." I humbly replied, cringing at the 'teenager' part, due to the fact I was over that limit by a world wide margin. "Besides, I like'd like to chat, nothing wrong with that, right?"
The girls accepted, whist my gaze remained on the window outside. So peaceful, the colours of the sky, and atmosphere remind me of Cetus, the wild community, and plains, it was the most natural place I knew, but this....it felt like my home, before everything changed, before the war, the void accident....cryo-status.
"-Hey, you still there, Cal?" I heard Sunset wave to me, making my gaze fall back to them with a smile, then she asked curiously. "You said something about your sister, you have one?"
"Y-Yeah....Valkyr, I know, weird name, but my parents thought it suited her well, given her wild, happy outlook, and they were really into mythology, so....her name came from Valhalla." I explained with a small feeling of guilt in my chest, as it gradual sunk into my core. "She....She isn't doing too well, not for the last week."
"O-Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up any bad memory?" Sunset backpedaled, but I only waved her off
"Na, its good, I like talking about her, even if she's my younger sister, I like to think she's the older one sometimes, even if she's a little weird, Valkyr is always putting others before herself, not caring about her own problems until everyone was happy, she's the reason I push myself to do better." That was my drive, the thing that kept me going this long, it made me happy, right?
"I like her, she sounds awesome." Skittles commented, whist Pinkie nodded happily with a hum
"Mmmhmm. I wanna meet her, hey, you think when she's better we can see her!?" The hyper girl was in my face now, but I just chuckled, pushing her back
"Sure, when's she not giving me a heart attack, i'll introduce you to her." I replied, before my sharpened eyes struck Skittles in the face. "And before I forget, call me nerd, and I'll make sure you suffer."
"OK, I'M SORRY!" She squealed, making the rest of them laugh, as I let a small chuckle escape my lips, it was fun talking with them, even if just a bit
"Oh hey, look at that!?" Pinkie gaped in dramatic shock, pointing towards the screen of the TV, at first, I didn't see anything, but that was short lived, as I finally caught on to what was currently on the screen. I could see it, but....I didn't believe what it was
An orange-brown armour, with glass hung around her shoulders, with glass hanging from her waist like small cape, with two smooth, glass visors at the sides of her head, whist she swung a massive hammer of the same nature, two prongs on either side of the head, both made of clear glass.
"A Gara....? H-Here?" I thought in shock, which was present on my face, but I had now moved to my feet, putting a hand to my ear. "Ordis, make sure everything is stable, last thing I need is problems, especially at this current point in time?"
"Operator, if you are thinking of going after that Warframe, you must know that your Warframe was damaged during our initial~BLOODY MANGLING CRASH~and won't be fully operational."Ordis replied, but I just threw caution to the wind, moving for my jacket
"Hold on, where are you going?" Sunset asked me, as I slowly lifted my jacket
"Going to protect my sister, that things near where i'm currently living, last thing I need is a bunch of space-glass thrown around my home, as well as my sister." I replied, before I ran out of the cafe, leaving them to worry for themselves, but right now, I needed to do my job
At the first opening, I ran directly into a nearby alleyway, trying not to impersonate Superman, as I watched the archwing fly-in overhead, before I watched it place my suit down before my feet, much to my joy, then, the Archwing detached, leaving me to merge with my Warframe once again, the surge of remnant power coursing back to me. Thank the Lua Reservoir for that. Then, I heard Ordis speak up again.
"Operator, I have added a few new features~FASHION IS END GAME~, I do hope you like it." Ordis replied happily. Then, I watched as my armour glowed. Two Prisma Edo pauldrons sat on my shoulders, whist the Prisma Edo Knee Plates sat on my legs, then I felt the cape on my back, and saw the hood and twin capes of the Covenant Syandana floating in the breeze
Last, my helmet was now the Avalon make. Overall, I was weakened, but my armour was badass, Fashion was what separated the new Tenno, from the veterans after all. Not that I cared. But now I was ready to figure out why this Gara was going ballistic, and why she was here of all places?
"I have given you your usual equipment, Operator, now~OBLITERATE THIS THING~!"
[Downtown Canternlot]
I was now perched on the roof of a building, overlooking the damage Gara had created, in a word, glass, glass everywhere. She was wielding an automatic shotgun that shot the stuff at such ferocity, it tore cars to pieces, whist her hammer broke any foundations in the roads with ease, luckily, no one was hurt. Then I noticed the broadcasters, and how dangerously close they were.
"-This unknown creature has already torn through most of downtown, and is heading for the central plaza, if anyone is in the area should evacuate immediately to avoid-GAH!" The woman screamed at the glass lance thrown towards her, but just as quickly as the lance, I dropped in, kicking the lance to the side, allowing it to sink into the brick wall behind us. "Wha-What?"
"You should move back, hate to have a nice lady die in such a graphic way." I replied to her, holding my Dragon Nikana to my right-hand side, then I looked at her, pointing to the blockade where many armed forces, and bystanders watched in awe at both me, and Gara. "Please, move back for now."
"Who are you?" She asked, and I just chuckled a little, feeling the spotlight on me, then I pointed my blade directly at Gara, her hammer hung over her shoulder as she stared directly at me
"Excalibur, Tenno of Relic Hunters, and I'm coming for you, Gara." I smugly replied, before she threw her hammer, which I could now see was a Volnus, which meant her shotgun was the Astilla, judging by the same glass pieces shaped like 'L's sticking out from the barrel. "Tell me, what are you doing, and better yet, why are you here?"
She didn't reply, but opted to dragging her hammer through the tarmac, her head tilted in my direction as she moved, but I wasn't an idiot, she wasn't going to listen, that was fine by me. So, I held my blade in two hands, moving into a stance as I grinned under my helmet. Even if it was only a day, I felt alive right now in this Warframe, as Excalibur.
"Lock, and load, bitch." I mused, before she grasped Volnus in both hands, swinging the hammer round, along with tarmac, so I turned, blocking the hammer with my blade as the metal rang, my feet skidding across the road, but she was fast with the heavy weapon, and came round, throwing the hammer downwards
I backflipped, avoiding the shattering glass that erupted from the contact, before I narrowly bent back, my helmet trimming another lance, before I felt my feet fly from under me, her lance swung like a blade, throwing me to the ground. Now defenseless, I watched as Gara held her shotgun to my chest, but I quickly rolled towards a mangled car, the sharp glass blades nicking my arm, and side as she continuously fired her slugs, but eventually stopped to reload, allow me to jump behind the car.
I then peaked over the hood, before I ducked at the next round of glass slugs propelled from her shotgun, pinning me to the car's back, but I quickly sheaved my blade, grabbing my Dread from my back, before I pulled the string back with an arrow, leaping out from my cover. Then I leapt into the air, my body gliding over her bombardment of glass blasts, before I released the string, two arrows flying in her direction.
She dodged the first, but it caught her off balance, allowing the second arrow to knock the shotgun from her hands. She instinctively went for her hammer, but I used a weak Slash Dash to close the distance, before I slid on my back, kicking upwards to knock her hands away from her back, before I leapt to my feet, grabbing my Dragon Nikana again.
I quickly threw several short thrusts at her chest with overwhelming speed, provoking her to lift her arms to defend her upper-body. Taking the bait, I slashed at her exposed legs, causing her legs to give out from under her, leaving her defenseless at the assault, to finish her, I thrusted my Nikana into her chest again, the shattering of her shields ran like her glass capes, which also shattered to defend herself, but her body tumbled back, falling onto her face at the end.
She was stumbling, trying to put her feet under her, but her energy was exhausted, whist I walked over to her body with a sigh of relief.
*Clang-Shatter*
I was quickly drawn to my knees by the sudden pain in my side, my small shield shattered in a flash of white, as I dropped my Nikana beside me, the hand of Gara pointed towards me, her own body panting at her sluggish movements, but she was beginning to move to her feet, whist I struggled to my own.
"She's gonna crush me with the hammer, isn't she?" I thought, before the blinding strike of said-hammer cracked across my jaw, sending me flying to my side, her body now over mine, her Volnus raised high above my perfect jawline. "Now....I know we had our differences....but, can talk this out over a brew?"
She wasn't having it, but my eyes quickly locked to something on her neck, it was small, so my eyes didn't lock onto it upon first glance, but it was small, golden device, similar to those Arcanes the Grineer stuck to my leg years back, was that the cause of her rampage? If so, I may not have the chance to grab it.
"Hey, bitch!" A new feminine voice snapped in our direction, and before I could even comprehend what exactly was happening, I watched as an orange fist smeared itself across Gara's face, sending the vexing Tenno back, before the new arrival, kicked her in the stomach, followed by a round-house kick to the legs, and whist Gara was airborne, the arrival axe-kicked Gara into the road, burying her face into the black tarmac with ease. "Get your hands off my leader!"
"Hehehe....You should have been resting." I breathed in both concern, and joy, as the black, and orange hand held itself out to me, before I was lifted off the ground to face the wild-looking Warframe before me, then I whispered my response. "Valkyr."
"Says who? I'm awesome right now, I was given the whole, 'don't strain yourself' stuff from you-know-who, and here I am, saving you again." Valkyr hummed in glee, whist I slapped the back of her head. "Ow!"
"Less talk, more action." I answered for her, before I pointed to the now unstable Gara, her fist punching the ground in protest to what had occurred. "She has a small, golden device on the back of her neck, if you can give me an opening, I can pry it off with my Nikana?"
"Well, if the last ten seconds didn't piss her off, than this would do it." Valkyr nodded, seeing the glass capes on Gara shatter, creating a Splinter Storm around her, before her body shimmered for a moment, her arms brought close to her chest. "Hurry!"
"Ok!" I moved to my left, whist Valkyr ran directly at Gara, screaming out as her orange, fiery claws came to light, whist a thin, gold aura surrounded my sister. "Time to end this in one shot!"
Gara then released her arms, an ever expanding wall of glass emanating from her body, throwing rock, cars, and other debris from its path, but Valkyr leapt through, her body becoming coated in a shiny coat. Gara seemed amused by my sister's flawed attempt to attack, as her movements slowed, her body beginning to harden at the touch of glass. Any caught in the radius, would then be turned to hardened glass, well, anyone who wasn't already coating an immortal shell.
Gara jumped at little, seeing the claws begin to crack, as Valkyr's movements bent against the glass coat, the fissures in the shell beginning to glow orange with each grunt, and twist, then, she exploded. Her body fired molten shards of glass to the winds, bringing the massive glass wall down for me. As my body flew through the rain of shards that dropped like snow.
Gara didn't see me, so I accurately thrusted five strikes into her back, knocking her towards Valkyr, as my sister recoiled with another stomach kick, before I slashed downwards, before inverting my Nikana, and thrust vertically again, then I brought my blade down once more, knocking Gara down to her knees one last time.
With little time before she rebounded from this dual assault, most likely furious, I quickly pointed my blade horizontally to my face, before I swung to my left, my blade sinking through the device in her neck, as a burst of yellow void energy was released, shaking the earth, before Gara went limp at the moment the void energy dissipated, right as Valkyr caught her arms, holding her body up. As I swung my blade to my right, before I spun it, placing it back in its scabbard in a quick motion.
Finding our moment of peace, the crowd that had been observing us had finally broken into a cheer, much to my sister's embarrassed giggling, and my amused satisfaction, it wasn't often you were praised like this, it was usually only a few people that did this, but it felt....nice, the gratification we almost never felt as Tenno was given to us, and we took it in stride.
"Where....am I?" At the new, shy voice, me and Valkyr looked at Gara, her head tilted up at us, as if she was completely lost. "Wait, Tenno? Did you....help me?"
"Yeah, mind you, if I see another pane of glass thrown in my personal bubble again today, it will be too soon." I replied, seeing her head look away from us
"I'm s-sorry, I don't know what happened....I was in Cetus, then....here I am, just, in your arms, miss." The meek voice explained, which was vauge, seeing that her memories of what transpired were gone, leaving us to look at each other, then back to the crowd, as I watched some armed officers looking at us
"Well, you're not alone in the, 'where the hell are we', department." I chuckled, looping her arm over my neck, as Valkyr did the same. "Come on, lets get back to my ship, or what's left of it."
"Thank you....umm?" She paused, before I responded
"Call me Excalibur, but if we're alone, its Cal." I greeted, before I pointed to my sister. "Her name is the same as her Warframe, so that makes it easier."
"Hey, not my fault my name is cool...." She was pouting now, which was funny, that is, until I heard that same reporter call out to us
"Who are you, Excalibur? Everyone wants to know?" Well....it won't hurt them, in-fact, it might just help us out a little more for any future encounters with other Tenno on this planet
"A Tenno, master of gun and blade, a human, like you." With that, we left them all behind. Today was a first for many things, and knowing my luck, there was bound to be even more eventful encounters in the future
