Well as you know, the trip to the palace was a short but relaxing ride, the last train had come just as they said it would and being the only one waiting I had the entire ride to myself. The ride was shorter this time around and in a matter of minutes it felt like I was back in Canterlot. The train conductor allowed me off.

The streets of Canterlot was as empty as it could be no one walked about, not even the guards, well, I don’t think I saw them. I walked towards the palace taking in the silence of the night along with the night scenery. The city was as beautiful at night as it was at day but if I may say so myself, I think the night was slightly more amazing and that’s not because of my crush on a certain princess.

As I walked through the streets I felt the cool chill of the night air against my body, I walked towards the palace and soon the once quiet streets became tricked with the occasional solider. They all nodded towards me in recognition. I was grateful the princess made it known who I was I could imagine how things could go wrong very quickly. I was at least four heads taller than the tallest solider and my look wasn’t as inviting as It was in the daylight.

I acknowledged then with a nod of my own and continued on, it wasn’t long before I made it to the castle gates; after all, all roads lead to the Canterlot castle. The guards at the gates blocked my path with their spears.

“Announce yourself,” one stated in a commanding tone

I looked at him and raised an eye brow “Do you know any other creature that looks like me roaming about?” I asked sarcastically

“Illusion spells are easy for a rogue unicorn to do, please state yourself and your purpose” the stallion stated again, his body squared up and he looked ready to fight

I sighed “Vreizo,” I said flatly “currently under the guide of princess Celestia.”

“And your purpose,” the other one asked

“To get in and go to bed in my room,” I said annoyed, the guards looked at me skeptically they didn’t have any way to confirm my identity I suppose so, all they did was allow me to in with a escort that I had to wait for

The stallion that came bore the insignia of the princesses on this armor; he took one look at me.

“Follow me,” he said flatly, we left the entrance and walked towards the main palace entrance where standing at the door was my maid Azure standing at the open door waiting for me.

“Master,” she said in greeting “welcome home.”

“Maid, do you know this creature?” asked the stallion

Azure ignored the stallion but kept looking at me “Master would you be going straight to bed or should I prepare something to eat?” she asked

“Can you tell Princess Luna that I’m in,” I asked with a smile as I walked pass the ignored guard stallion “and I would like something to eat, yes.”

We walked through the halls of the castle, the dim lights casted our shadows against eh wall making them long and almost disembodied. Azure was silent through our walk, I may not have known her for long nor had the opportunity to learn anything about her, but she is mine and I won’t have anything of mine harmed.

“Azure,” I began making her look up at me “what are you feeling right now?”

“Now master?” asked Azure

“Yes, right now, what are you feeling,” I asked again

“My feeling is inconsequential,” she stated “it means nothing,”

I looked at her and with a tail lifted her off the ground, she yelped in surprise as she was brought close to my face.

“Don’t lie or hide anything from me,” I explained “so speak.”

“W-well,” Azure began with a stutter “I thought you weren’t coming back, I thought you decided to stay in the small village with the princess of friendship.”

“You thought I abandoned you?” I asked

“Wouldn’t be the first time I was abandoned,” explained Azure as I placed her back down on the floor, I down on the pony before me

“I will not leave you Azure Shadow,” I said “not unless I’m ripped from this world and placed in another one.”

Azure smiled for the first time since I she has been in my care, it was cute. I had to look away as we started back our walk, I once again looked at her cutie mark and the question formed in my mind.

“Azure, what does your cutie mark mean?” I asked again

Azure stopped and looked up at me, I looked at her, I wanted to know and I wanted to know tonight, she seemed to know what I was thinking and sighed. She started to walk forward again and walked into the shadow of a pillar, instantly she was gone. I looked around frantically, only to feel a hood touch my hind leg.

“This is what my cutie mark mean,” she explained softly “other people got to be painters or teachers or even scientists, but me… I get to do creepy stuff.”

I picked the pony up onto my back and continued walking a lighter skip in my step, I just saw something so freaking awesome and she believes it’s creepy. I would need to change that about her. now my mind is going crazy with weird ideas of a certain ninja village that I grew up watching as a kid, after all I’m a nine-tailed fox it’s perfect for me, isn’t it.

Azure grabbed onto my neck and was shouting my name as we passed the night maids who just looked at us like we were some weird freak show. I entered the kitchen where I placed her on the floor again. The night kitchen staff l stopped and looked at me their eyes wide I smiled exposing my fangs.

“Hi,” I said happily “can I have some meat.”

I looked at the ponies in the room

“Master I’ll get it,” Azure said trotting deeper into the kitchen she entered a separate door and walked in leaving me standing at the entrance

The kitchen staff continued to stare at me as I sat where I was and flicked my tails idly around, I would not lie it was fun watching them practically tremble at looking at me and the way they averted their eyes. A plan came to mind as I sat there, a grin formed on my face as I chuckled to myself, I was about to freak these ponies out. All I need was for Azure to return.

As if she heard me my maid, stepped out from the separate room, she carried in the magic a plate filled with meat. The scent washed over me making me hungrily salivate, I watched as Azure came towards me much to the disgust of the ponies around.

“Master, shall we go to the dining room?” asked Azure

Time to put my plan into action, I shook my head and motioned for her to set the plate on the closest table. Azure raised an eyebrow in confusion as I said nothing but gestured.

“Master are you-“ began Azure but was stopped when I looked at her with a amused smile the wheels in her head turned but couldn’t come to a conclusion

The ponies still watched me as I inhaled the sweet, delicious meat sitting in front me, with a growl and a attack of the meat in front me, I made quick ravenous work of the dish making sure the breaking of the bones echoed throughout the kitchen. I sighed and lifted my head looking at the now terrified ponies.

“Azure my loyal maid,” I stated through a smile “you made a delicious meal, next time more meat, no matter where it comes from.”

Azure nodded vigorously as I turned and walked towards the exit, Azure followed close behind leaving the empty tray on the table. I turned to look behind me in time to see three of the ponies faint in shock. I smiled to myself an Azure caught up to me.

“Master,” azure began “why did you do that?”

“Well,” I began “I just wanted to leave a mark on the kitchen staff before we leave for our own place.”

Azure watched me as I started to walk again, with a small trot she ran towards me and kept a step behind me. As I walked in silence the only sound that accompanied us was the sound of Azure’s hooves, my mind wandered at where my princess Luna would be … my princess Luna did I just say that, oh dear god, if I ever dream this please kill me quickly.

“Master,” Azure said softly pulling my attention from my inner monologue “the princess is having night court.”

“Um…what?” I asked confused

“The court aster, the ponies that can’t visit princess Celestia in the day, visit princess Luna at night,” explained Azure

“Oh,” I said surprised “well that makes it easier

I followed my maid as she took me to the throne room, as I approached the night guards who were posted at the doors. They saw me and give a curt nod before opening the doors of the throne room. We walked in giving our thanks to the guards. As we entered we were immediately greeted with the bright smile of Luna sitting on her throne before the three ponies standing in front her with scrolls in their magic, she looked so beautiful, so regal. I couldn’t help but smile.

“Hello Princess Luna.” I said approaching the three ponies spun on me their faces brimming with anger, upon seeing me they looked at me with fear, I walked past them and walked up the stairs as Azure walked to the far corner and stood next to a night guard “how you doing?”

I made a great show of nuzzling Luna in front of the what I thought were noble ponies, I guess they always want to be around the princesses begging for more favors. Luna chucked at my advance but caught herself quickly and cleared her throat.

“It is good to see you Vreizo,” she said as I sat next to her throne her smile grew as she saw the nobles unconsciously take a step back from my large imposing presence, she looked up at me and whispered in a voice only I can hear “don’t leave my side tonight.”

My ear flicked excitedly as she motioned for the nobles to continue with their proposal. It seemed as though that they wanted to take the impoverished part of Canterlot and build condos. A basic rich move if I ever saw one. As they spoke I could see that the princess was as annoyed as I felt listening to them. Soon she raised her hoof to make them stop.

“Princess?” they said in unison

“We have listened to your ludicrous plan for far too long, in hopes that you have the decency to stop spouting such nonsense,” began Princess Luna “but, it has come to my realization that you have nothing between your ears, if you believe that nothing you proposed has any problem.”

“But Princess Luna, the proposal will bring great wealth to our city” one of the nobles argued

“At what cost,” asked Luna “where will the ponies go after you destroyed their homes?”

“W-w” the noble began to stutter

“Silence,” commanded Luna her voice rising to almost to the point of the royal voice “do you take us for a fool, would you make us believe you had a plan to relocate our ponies, it was not in the proposal.”

The ponies stepped back as Luna stood to her hooves standing at her full height, her eyes glowing white with her magic, as she opened her moth to speak I swore I saw a hint of fang.

“Be gone from our sight,” Luna said through a hiss “don’t let us hear you speak of this again.”

The three ponies bowed and turned, with their heads held high they walked to the exit; they though no one could hear them but, they ever accounted for the presence of a demon fox.

“Stop,” I said as they walked, Luna looked at me but I said nothing turning back to the retreating nobles she waved a hoof and the night guards immediately surrounded them spears drawn

“What is the meaning of this,” asked one of the nobles “don’t you know who I am; I demand to be let free.”

I hopped down the stairs and stalked towards the three ponies, my head was low and my blue flames licked at my lips, the ponies looked at me terrified, with another wave of her hoof the guards retreated and stood at their posts. I walked around the ponies eyeing them like they were my meal; I stood between them and the door, the flames still licking at my lips.

“Vreizo,” began Luna “tell me why have thou stopped our subjects from leaving?”

“Should I tell her or should you?” I asked in a low menacing voice

One of the nobles, who I will now dub as the leader of the three steeled his resolve and looked at me in the eye.

“I don’t know what you are talking about monster,” he said “now out of my way or I shall have you thrown in the Canterlot dungeon.”

I growled but I felt the touch of Luna standing beside me, she had flown over and landed next to me.

“You shall do no such thing,” she commanded “someone speak, Vreizo what are you talking about?”

“Well.” I said looking at the ponies but when they decided not to speak I snapped my jaw at them making a small flame wash over them, it didn’t hurt them but it was enough to scare the life out of them for a few minutes “your so called subjects, will be going to carry out they plan of gaining the slums through underhanded means.”

“What?” asked Luna

“They will be contacting one called the Laughing Snake,” I finished

Luna’s eyes immediately narrowed at the ponies cowering before her, but the leader once again steeled his resolve and looked at me defiantly.

“What are you talking about,” he demanded before turning to Luna “Princess Luna will you actually believe this monster over your own subjects, we would never go against your rulings.”

Luna said nothing but looked down at the pony “Be it as it may,’ she began “Vreizo is someone I trust, and not only have you disrespected him by calling him a monster but, you may have conspired against a ruling of a princess of Equestria, d you really think you can leave without being questioned?”

As she spoke the shadows of the room grew and stretched across the room as they neared us ponies came out the shadows as if they were a part of the shadows, they resembled the way Azure sulked into the shadows. These ponies were grey in color their armor was black but had the insignia of the moon, their unfurled wings were that of a bat and they all had fangs. These bat ponies encircled the nobles.

“W-what,” stuttered the noble as he noticed what was happening “are you really going to do this princess Luna??

“Do I not have the right as royalty?” asked Luna in a condescending tone

I noticed the unfurled wings of the bat ponies were lined with thin sheets of blades; the ponies didn’t dare move as they loomed over them awaiting their princess’s command.

“Take them away,” Luna commanded “find out everything they know about the criminal known as Laughing Snake.”

The nobles attempted to make another accusation against me but were immediately pulled into the shadows before a word can leave their mouth. With them gone Luna relaxed and sat where she was, she leaned her head on my side.

“I really hate night court,” she said “they always come to me with the propositions they know Tia will not agree to, like I will agree to it because she didn’t.”

“So they play you guys off each other?” I ask

“They try to,” chuckled Luna “I’m glad you were here to see through their schemes or we would’ve had many displaced ponies to see about.”

I nodded and yawned making her chuckle again

“Well, I suppose it is after midnight,” she began, with another wave of her hoof the night guard walked out the throne room leaving us alone with Azure standing in the corner “that’s it for night court, I suppose I should get to my other duties.”

Luna stood and walked towards the throne room exist located behind the doors of the thrones, as she does she looked behind at me and motioned for me to follow. I did without hesitation, seriously what would you have done; she’s just too damn perfect.

“Wait Luna,” I called making her stop, I looked at Azure and flicked my tail making her come, Luna turned to look at me then to my maid “I have a question.”

“Yes?” she asked

“I don’t know about pony biology much but,” I began “is Azure one of you ninja ponies?”

“Ninja-ponies?” asked Luna with a snicker “my dear Vreizo those are my elite night guard force you witnessed not too long ago, not ninja ponies, they are from the small clan of bat ponies, why do you ask?”

“I realized some similarities;” I started again “is Azure a bat pony?”

“Master-“ Azure began but I raised a paw stopping her

Luna looked the small mare over and hummed softly as she thought through her answer

“I know you are an orphan my pony,” Luna began “and though I may not know your lineage I can tell you, that you do bear a striking resemblance to my bat ponies but you have the horn instead of the wings.”

“D-does that mean I’m a freak even among your bat ponies?” asked Azure

“No, it simply mean either your mother or father was a unicorn so you took both their traits,” Luna explained with a smile “I regret I cannot tell you more.”

“That’s fine Princess, you have done more than you know,” Azure said with a bow “master, and if you don’t need me can I please be excused?”

“You can go.” I said Azure bowed to me and walked towards the civilian exist of the throne room

Luna walked up to me and placed a hoof on my chest and sighed “You are observant,” she said looking up at me with her beautiful cyan eyes “you would be a great ruler if you ever decide to rule a country.”

I laughed as she dropped her hoof and we walked to the back, we started talking about mundane things, Luna led me to the living chambers of the castle. The room was filled with soft seats and a tray of tea was already waiting.

“This is where I usually work,” she explained “from here I enter the dream realm and look over our ponies sleep, would you like to assist me tonight?”

“You know I would,” I smiled walking deeper into the room and taking a place on the floor with a cushion sitting behind me

Luna levitated the tea over and took a seat right up against my midsection, her body was warm and inviting, I could feel her slow steady breathing and her ethereal mane flowed over me as beautiful as the night sky. I wrapped my tail around her like a protective cocoon, I fell asleep not to long after and met Luna in the dreamscape, and I know I could have done it with magic but I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

The rays of sunlight caressed my face and fur like a warm kiss; slowly I opened my eyes and looked around. It took a few seconds to realize where I was and rested my head back on my paws. The sound of a soft chuckle reached my ears, looking up I opened my eyes again ready to tear into the person who was trying to wake me up but sitting to the left of me was the sun princess. She had a small black box in her magic; it took me a little while to realize that that little black box was a camera.

“What are you doing sunbutt?” I asked through a yawn

“Well, don’t you like comfortable and cute,” the Princess of the sun smiled slyly and the click of the camera made my ear twitch “the pony and her fox.”

“What,” I asked confused, at that moment a soft moan reached my ear, I looked down at my side and saw that Luna was laying next to me, she had my tails in her hooves and was using them as a teddy bear she adjusted herself pulling it closer

My face slowly turned to look at Celestia who was now looking at me with the widest smile that rivaled Pinkie Pie’s. She floated the camera in front her and the resulting amount of camera shutters resulted in me sitting there like a deer in headlights. After the camera shutters stopped, Celestia got to her feet and silently walked to the door, opening it she looked back at me.

“I’ll be waiting for you at breakfast,” she said with another smile and was out the door

I just sat there confused and bewildered, the minute the door closed shut loudly Luna’s eyes opened and she yawned. She looked around hazily and then her eyes landed on me.

“Good morning Vreizo,” yawned Luna she noticed my tails wrapped in her hooves and her face turned a tint of red “w-what?”

She released my tails and teleported herself towards the door, opening it she immediately walked out but stuck her head back in.

“I’ll see you at breakfast,” she whispered before disappearing

I sat there still unmoving allowing what just happened to sink in only then did I get up and stretched my numb legs. I felt rejuvenated and filled with happiness that my entire body was engulfed in mu blue flame before I caught myself and subdued it, just so I don’t burn the entire castle down.

Two maids had entered the room and almost screamed as I extinguished my flames I smiled at them jovially and walked out the room. The guards and servants I passed looked at me with amused faces as I practically skipped down the hallway towards the dining hall.

As I entered the dining room I found that Celestia was already waiting with a cup of what I presumed was tea in her cup. Her knowing smile tracked me as I walked up to the table and took a seat.

“So, did you have a good rest?” she asked when I was settled and poured myself a cup

“Yes,” I said nonchalantly

“That’s good,” Celestia sipped her tea before looking at me “so, I know there are a few million ponies who would wish you dead if certain pictures ever reached out.”

I choked on my tea as she took another sip of her tea; I looked at her, her calm features void of all emotions honed by a few thousand years of practice didn’t give away anything.

“You wouldn’t” I said

“Try me,” She smiled as her eyes flashed a hint of mischief “not unless you make it worth my while.”

I sighed just as the doors opened and Luna walked in, she didn’t look at me but simply took her seat and poured herself coffee.

“What are you talking about sister?” she asked

“Nothing really“ Celestia smiled at me slyly that went unnoticed by the night princess “Vreizo just agreed to sing a song at his house party.”

“What?” I exclaimed

Celestia took another sip of her tea as Luna looked up at me for the first time surprise plastered on her face.

“Is this true?” she asked

I looked at Celestia who winked at me and took another sip of her tea

“Yes,” I said between gritted teeth “I agreed to sing, I used to sing in my world but never at a professional level.”

“Huzza,” exclaimed Luna happily “we cannot wait to hear you sing, we knew your voice would sound most beautiful.”

I sighed “Don’t have your hopes to high,” then it dawned on me “Celestia how do you know about the party, I haven’t even started decorating yet?”

At that Celestia placed down the tea cup and a letter appeared in front me, opening it I noticed it was a hoof written invitation from the pink demon herself for this evening, inviting everyone to and I quote the welcome to Everfree new castle home party.

“I-I” I began

“Haven’t even decorated yet,” began Celestia “or the fact that the grounds are a complete mess?”

“Exactly,” I said

“In my experience Vreizo,” Luna started “you do not question the one known as Pinkie Pie; she once entered my dreamscape and entered other ponies dream just because she can”

“Do not fear my good fox,” Celestia said “I have arranged for you to go shopping at the best places in Canterlot with your maid today and have them rush ordered.

“But”

“No buts,” Celestia said raising a hoof, in a flash of light some strips of papers appeared in front of me “this is from the science of magic in Neighpon, slap it on the items and they will be transported to your new home.”

I looked at the papers and blinked, they looked like Japanese talismans, there are ponies with magic so why would there be talismans, right.

Accepting the talismans I placed them at the side of me and continued breakfast, the conversation was solely on my apparent musical performance tonight. No pressure right.

With breakfast finished the kitchen staff came and took the cutlery, they made every effort to stay out of my way, only when Azure came into the dining hall did my plate get removed. The dark grey pony smiled up at me.

“Good morning master,” she said

“Good morning Azure, did you sleep well?” I asked

“Like a new born foal,” she said as my plate’s levitated “call for me when you are ready to leave master.”

With that Azure was gone, Celestia got up and excused herself as well, she had to go prepare herself for day court and if I remember correctly things will get really interesting. Since Luna and I decided to enter Celestia’s dream to give her the heads up on what may happen. I do hope she could handle it, ha who am I kidding she’s an immortal being she has been doing this for possible since the creation of this world.

“I’m glad that you have gotten used to Azure,” Celestia said getting to her hooves and walking towards the door “I will see you tonight at your new home Vreizo; I can’t wait to hear you sing.”

With that Celestia was gone, Luna got to her hooves as well “I must go see about our traitors,” she said “I shall see you tonight, be safe Vreizo.”

I watched as she ignited her magic and teleported out of the dining room. I sat there alone, questioning my life choices and how they would soon affect my future. Maybe when I am in my new home I will try exploring the reason why I was in this world before I do something I will regret.
