Not your Average School Day
Prologue-Grave Puncher and a Phone Call
Canterlot High
Principal's Office
Celestia Daymont, Principal of Canterlot High, lived, ate, and slept in her office while school was out. So far, only one day was left in summer break, and soon, school would resume. For Celestia, that meant more magical incidents she could barely cover up as is. Right now, she was working on attendance when the phone rang.
"Ah, hello?" she asked.
"Ah, Principal Celestia?" said a male, rather weak voice. "This is Irving Slimovitz, Principal of Norrisville High. We met at the State Convention?"
"Yes, we did!" Celestia said. "How are you?"
"I'm fine. Listen, I need something to do before school starts, and I just so happen to have an idea that could benefit both of our schools."
"Do tell." Celestia replied.
"Well, our schools haven't met since...well, a while. I was thinking you take a few students at your school and come to Norrisville, and I do the same with Canterlot High?"
"That sounds pleasant." Celestia said. "However, I must ask you something. Does your school experience any unexplainable, destructive, or otherwise downright unbelievable events?"
"Oh, all the time." Slimovitz replied. "Don't worry, usually when they come up, they're solved pretty quickly. Also, it helps our insurance has very good coverage for monster/mutated student or killer robot attacks. They thought I was joking when I first came in!"
"Excuse me" Celestia asked. "Killer robots? Monsters?"
"Yeah, we have those every so often." Irving said. "Don't worry, we have a good way of dealing with them. Plus the school's been rebuilt, I don't know, upwards of ten times now. It's built to resist anything!"
"I'll take your word for it." Celestia said. "So, when shall we begin?"
"First day works for me." Slimovitz sighed. "Ah, school, what would we do without you?"
"I do not know." Celestia said. "I'll prepare on my end, and you do the same."
"You got it!" Silmovitz replied. "See you soon!"
As the call ended, Celestia smiled as she opened her desk drawer for the necessary paperwork.

Canterlot Apartments
Condo 31A
"Sunset, it's unbelievable!" said a rainbow-haired girl. "We have to back to school tomorrow!"
"It is the end of vacation." Rarity replied. "And calm down, it won't kill you."
"We're Sophomores!" Rainbow replied. "The homework will most definitely kill me, if the lunch doesn't do it first!"
As the girls laughed, Sunset Shimmer brought in a microwaveable pizza for all of them.
"So, Sunset?" Fluttershy asked. "How exactly did you afford this place?"
Truth be told, the condo was rather spacious and well-furnished, despite the usual untidiness apparent of a high school student.
"I may have smuggled in some bits from Equestria and pawned them for enough cash to buy the whole condo." Sunset said.
"Bits?" Applejack asked.
"Equestrian Gold Coins." Sunset said. "Our dollar bill, basically."
"That's incredibly unreliable from an economic standpoint." said the Human Twilight Sparkle. "Why gold?
"It's been used ever since the founding of Equestria." Sunset said. "Plus, they're nearly 95 percent pure gold. Even if you can't buy or sell with them, they're always worth something as a trade commodity."
"True." Rarity said. "How a market relying on pure gold coins as common currency could be so stable is fascinating! I wonder what Equestria's GDP is…"
Everyone stared at Rarity.
"What? My dad's an economist, after all!" Rarity said. "That's how I get all the materials I need to make my lines! It doesn't pay for itself, you know!"
"Also true." Pinkie said. "So, how much did you get for them?"
"Like I said, enough to buy the whole condo. Don't worry, it's all in the bank. Now, let's eat some Pizza." Sunset said. "It's not going to devour itself, girls."
That was proven true, as the pizza was soon gone like the summer days.

Norrisville
Albany Park Suburbs
"Cunningham, it's so STUPID!" said one Howard Weinerman. "Why do we have to go back to school?"
"Oh, I don't know." Randy Cunningham, the Ninja of Norrisville, retorted. "How about we need a high school diploma to do basically anything with our lives in the future?"
"Since when do you care about that?" Howard replied. "I mean, we're two sophomores, previously freshmen, and now you're caring about life after school?"
"Yeah, you're right." Randy said, furiously throttling his video game controller's sticks and buttons. "I have to admit, you'd Grave Puncher would get old. Suprisingly, it does not."
As Howard rolled over and picked up his own controller, Randy felt surpisingly optimistic about this new year of school.
"Howard?"
"Yeah?"
"You think we'll ever get girlfriends?" Randy asked.
"No clue, my friend." Howard replied. "You think out of all the fish in the sea, none take our bait."
"True." Randy said.
"There's also the fact that we keep casting into the sea, which is fun all of itself." Howard continued.
"Also true."
"So, I guess it all works out." Howard replied.
"Definitely true." Randy said. "Now, shut up and let's punch some graves."
As the two boys resumed their reverie of punching virtual gravestones, Randy peeked over at the Ninja Nomicon, which was glowing.
"Punch for me." Randy said, taking out the mystical book, opening it then promptly passing out.
====
Randy appeared inside the Nomicon's temple area, and sat down cross-legged.
"So, what's all this about?" he asked.
Then, red letters appeared in front of him.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE IS COMING.
My next challenge?" Randy asked. "What could it possibly be? The Sorcerer's done for, not sure about McFist, but he's most likely done for...what next?"
A NEW THREAT IS COMING, ONE THAT WILL TEST YOU LIKE NONE OTHER.
"So…" Randy mused. "Is that my Sophomore year in High School, or what? Is that right?"
NO.
"Drat." Randy moaned. "So, what do I need to know?"
The wind swirled Randy away to a mountaintop shrine, and sitting there was a new Ninja Mask. It now featured a stripe down the middle of the face, and a v-shaped, dragon-like maskl on the front. Below it lay a new sword, like the one the Sorcerer had destroyed. However, this one had runes carved into the hilt, and a longer, thinner blade.
"So BRUCE!" Randy said, taking the Mask and Sword. He placed the mask on, and felt the familiar rush of strength and speed flow through him. As he looked over his new suit, he couldn't help but smile. His lower arms now had Gauntlets shaped like Dragon's heads, and a woven vest inscribed with runes lay on his chest.
"EPIC!" Randy said, then one of the trees poked him on the shoulder.
A NEW POWER MEANS NEW LESSONS TO LEARN, WHICH WILL TEST YOU HARSHLY.
"Right." Randy said, sheathing his new sword. "Where do I start?"
On that note, the Nomicon ejected him, and Randy woke up to Howard poking his forehead.
"What, what'd I miss?" Randy said.
"Grave Punching. Now." Howard said, handing him his controller. The two boys promptly resumed where they left off, not caring in the world that they had school tomorrow.

Yep, one of my favorite Cartoons gets a story here.

Not your Average School Day
Canterlot High School
Main Entrance
As Sunset and her friends entered the school, they noticed a vacant School Bus sitting in the parking lot.
"Why's that bus there?" Rarity asked.
"Because you seven are going on a trip."
They turned to see Principal Celestia appear, wearing her usual suit.
"What trip?" Sunset asked. "And where are we going?"
"We're going to Norrisville, our Sister City, to visit their High School. They'll be doing the same at a later date." Celestia said. "You seven have good records, so I figured you'd be up to the task. And Pinkie?"
"Yes?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"You can throw a party." Celestia said. "When we get there."
Pinkie beamed and gave a devious series of chuckles.
"Mwahahaha!" she cackled, putting on a monocle and James Bond villain-style top hat. "My moment of triumph approaches!"
"Shall we be off?" Celestia asked, a little amused. The girls nodded and followed Celestia onto the bus, which drove off towards Norrisville.
====
"So, Twi?" Sunset asked.
"Yeah?" Sci-Twi replied, looking at her laptop.
"Look up Norrisville. What's happening there?" Sunset requested. Sci-Twi typed in "Norrisville, Massachussets" into the search bar, and hit ENTER.
"It's like Canter City in many respects." Sci-Twi said. "It is home to McFist Industries. From what I read, they basically make everything and anything under the sun."
"Like what?" Rainbow asked.
"Appliances, gadgets, everything." Sci-Twi said, looking at McFist Industries' internet homepage. "Apparently its CEO has a thing for robot gorillas."
"Weird." Rarity said. "Robo-Apes? That sounds…"
"Odd?" Sci-Twi said. "Yes. It's also home to Norrisville High, which is where we're going, an extinct Volcano named Mount Chuck, which I didn't know existed, and various restaurants and typical suburban features."
"So, basically Canter City?" Fluttershy said.
"Yep. Though Norrisville High boasts a good Chess and other sport teams, and…wait, take a look at this."
The girls crowded around. The screen displayed a video titled "Norrisville Ninja defeats killer robot...again."
As Twi hit play, Sunset watched a figure in red and black battling a mechanical praying mantis. The figure battled it for a few moments, then it fired some kid of fist-shaped projectile that blew the mantis head off. The video ended with the figure disappearing in a flash of smoke.
"Wow." Twi said. "Apparently Norrisville High is protected by a Ninja against mutated students and killer robots. That's certainly something."
"It is." Applejack said. "What kind of school has a Ninja that fights mutants and robots?"
"Apparently this one." Twi said. "We're almost there."
=====
As the bus drove through the morning traffic, the students surveyed the area.
"Greg's Game Hole...interesting name...LeVean Exterminators…Norrisville Public Library...seems legit." Pinkie said. "Wait, incoming!"
Before they knew it, something red and black smashed through the window and landed, dazed, on the floor of the bus. Sunset and the girls then realized that it was the figure from the video, with a few aesthetic differences.
"Umm, hello?" the Ninja said before a giant metallic lobster claw grabbed him and pulled him out of the bus.
"Was that who I think it was?" Rainbow asked.
"Yep." Sunset said. "That was the guy from the video."
As the girls headed to the front of the bus, they saw the figure was dodging blows from a colossal robot lobster. As the lobster smashed up a few cars, the Ninja drew a longsword and slashed one of its claws off.
"Nice katana!" Rainbow cheered.
"Ninjato, actually." Twi said. "Katanas were used mainly by Samurai, and not ninjas."
The girls stared at Twi, who shrugged.
"I read, you know." she said as they resumed watching the fight. The Robo-Lobster hurled its wrecked claw at the Ninja, who sliced it in half before landing on a car.
"Alright! Ninja Tengu Fireball!" the Ninja smirked as he hurled a flaming orb, which blew the Lobster's head off, and left it as little more than scrap metal. As the girls watched, the Ninja disappeared in a flash of smoke, which drifted into the bus.
Unfortunately, the girls got a full blast of it. And Skunk Pine sap is not easy on the nose.
"Eww!" Rainbow snorted. "That's worse than...well I don't know what!"
"Hmm, sulfur is my best guess." Twi said.
"That's worse than Rainbow's BO." Sunset said, getting a few laughs and a punch on the shoulder.
"That's enough for now." Celestia said. "Let's continue on, shall we?"
As the bus resumed its path to Norrisville High, the Ninja ducked into an alley and pulled off his mask, revealing Randy Cunningham.
"That was close." he sighed. "Right, school!"
As he tore off towards Norrisville High, he was soon joined by Howard.
"So, how'd it go?" Howard asked.
"I mean, for a robo-lobster, it was easy." Randy said. "Those girls on the bus though. They seemed odd."
"How so?" Howard asked.
"One had rainbow-colored hair." Randy said. "Doesn't' that seem odd?"
"Randy, we live in Norrisville." Howard said. "Come on, odd is how things go around here."
Randy couldn't argue with that.
"Let's pick up the pace." Randy sighed. "I don't want to find out if Slimovitz gives detentions on the first day."
