Chapters Discord instantly shoved the paws off his face and fell backwards on to his couch. His eyes slowly focused on the small little creature that was in the box. It was a black puppy with long ears and some white on its chest and ears. Along with big friendly brown eyes. Its mouth hung open with its tongue sticking out panting happily at him. The creature didn't seem to care how he looked like most ponies did when they first saw him or met him. There was no sign of fear or surprise from the small pup. Just genuine happiness. It was quite nice to know truly.
Discord re positioned himself to get a closer look at the small one when the pup gave him a wet lick on the face and a bark.
"Blegh.." Discord said disgusted as he snapped himself a towel and dried his face of the slobber. He now looked at the dog straight in the eyes.
"What do you hope to accomplish with licking me?" He asked but the dog didn't respond. It just stared happily at him as if it didn't hear a word he had said.
"I said, why did you lick me!" He said with a ticked off voice, again, the dog did not reply.
He was obviously getting no where with this. Discord sighed and put his face into his paws before teleporting over to his volcano on the ceiling. He had brought his chair with him and some sticks and marshmallows to roast over it. The dog stared up at him curiously as it watched him roast the marshmallows over the open volcano.
The dog began trying to find ways to get up by jumping on to his furniture and barking up at the ceiling. Even just jumping around on the furniture wasn't working. The dog jumped on to his couch again, determined to get on to the ceiling with him. The dog gritted its teeth and let out a large bark as it leaped high into the air, putting out its tiny paws reaching out to Discord. It seemed like the dog was flying for a moment until gravity took hold of it and it slammed to the ground with a large whimper, getting the attention of Discord.

Maybe Tiny Friends Aren't So Bad?
Discord heard something drop as he glanced downwards to the dog lying on the floor. He was waiting for it to jump back up again and resume its useless attempt to get up to him but it didn't. The dog lied on the floor not moving. Suddenly, something struck him as if he suddenly knew what was wrong. He quickly teleported down from the ceiling and beside the dog, crouching beside it.
"Hello?..Uh..Hey. Helllooo!!" He said, each word getting more frantic as he shook the dog with his paw. Yet, the dog did not respond.
Did..Did I kill it? Discord thought, hoping it didn't come to that. He lied down slowly beside it when he felt a lick on his face. He looked to see now the pretty much lifeless pup up again and wagging its tail.
"You're alright!" Discord grinned, picking up the puppy holding it close to him. The dog barked licking at his face some more. The dog was suddenly levitated away from him though as Discord snapped another towel drying his face off.
"Alright, we need to establish some rules though my little friend."
The dog was suddenly teleported to a room with very luxurious red furniture. The dog was sitting on a small red stool with a large chair turned to its back in front of it. The chair suddenly spun around as Discord was on it holding a large parchment that was a large trail around the chair. He wore reading glasses as he seem to be reading the first rule.
"Rule number 1. No licking me. Its not all that well..Enjoyable. It maybe to you but its not to me."
The dog tilted its head as Discord continued.
"Rule number 2. Chaos is always welcome in mine and your new home." He began skimming through it now, mumbling to himself."Blah, blah..Don't leave the laundry...Discord is..What? I didn't write this." Discord now looked behind him, eyes narrowed. There was slight laughter that sounded like his and it vanished as soon as it came.
"Oh whatever, we don't need this!" Discord crumpled up the large parchment and threw it behind him. There was a large explosion noise that blew the dog's ears behind as the back drop of a beautiful rich room suddenly fell to the ground revealing Discord's own home behind them.
"It was a cheap set. Nothing really valuable was damaged." And just as Discord said that, a large light from the ceiling fell crashing down. The dog yelped as it held on to the stool tight.
"Oh come now my harmonious friend. You'll have to get use to this chaos if we're going to be friends and room mates!" Discord picked up the dog as he teleported back to their home. He put the dog down now on the floor.
"Hm..You need a name.." Discord tapped his paw to his chin as he began thinking. Something chaotic may work. He was sure with time the dog would get use to his chaos and warm up to it. Though, it seemed the dog had other plans as it ran over to where the volcano was on the ceiling. It seemed Discord had left his roasted marshmallows out as one just happen to fall from the ceiling and straight into the dog's open mouth. The dog ate it happily and looked over to Discord.
"You want to be named..Marshmallow?.."
The dog barked, seeming it said 'yes'.
"...That's the most unoriginal name I've ever heard in my life."
The dog's ears fell as it looked down at the ground.
"Marshmallow it is!" Discord grinned as the dog ran up to him barking, dancing around him pretty much. Discord laughed as he picked up the little dog. "We're going to have so much chaotic fun together, Marshmallow!"
Over the next few weeks and months, Discord and Marshmallow were bonding just great. While Discord was teaching Marshmallow his own tricks with chaos and how to make their own, Marshmallow was teaching Discord some games it liked to play. Discord and Marshmallow played fetch with each other a bit but with a little spin. Discord would throw one of his limbs for Marshmallow to catch. It would seem disturbing to others but the two enjoyed it. However, there was other things that Discord learned that weren't so fun. Picking up Marshmallow's droppings and cleaning Marshmallow wasn't so fun. Though, breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always fun since they would play a little game while eating.
Other then just him and Marshmallow, the Mane Six were quickly informed that he had his own pet. Some disagreeing that he probably shouldn't of had one and others thought it would be fine. However, Fluttershy enjoyed it when ever she was invited over or she invited him over when he had Marshmallow. Today however would be interesting. Fluttershy had invited him and Marshmallow to a pet park where all the others would be with their pets for a pet play date. Him and Marshmallow had just teleported there now as they waited for their friends to quickly arrive.
"Alright Marshmallow, lets practice the trick a little."
Marshmallow gave a bark as they sat down. Discord snapped a fork on Marshmallow's nose. It balanced wobbling slightly as Marshmallow continued to hold it on their nose. Discord snapped, slipping under Marshmallow and slowly but carefully lifting them up. All the while, Marshmallow was able to keep balance with the fork and was lifted all the way up.
"Discord!"
As soon as someone was heard yelling his name, Discord suddenly fell backwards with Marshmallow and they both came tumbling down as the fork flew in the air. His friend Fluttershy was coming with her pet Angel but soon came to a screeching stop as the fork landed right in front of her on the ground.
"Woah!..That was close. Anyway, hello Discord. I'm glad you came. Uh..Are you alright?" Fluttershy quickly asked after she noticed Discord recovering from falling on to the ground.
"Ugrr..Yeah, I'm fine. Just a mess up I suppose." He said, dusting himself off a bit as he helped Marshmallow up.
"Well, the others should be here soon." Fluttershy said cheerfully. "I also brought some toys and snacks for the pets. I brought some biscuits and others toys for you and Applejack since you both have dogs."
"Do I really have to share with the country pony?" Discord complained.
"Discord..." Fluttershy said in a stern voice.
"Alright, fine." Discord crossed his arms.
Sure enough though, their friends began to arrive. Everyone began to gather around with their pets. However, Marshmallow seem to be shy of the others and hid behind Discord.
"Oh come now, Marshmallow. We're not doing this today." He picked up his dog now.
"Marshmallow? Well, its Discord I guess." Rainbow said, landing with Tank.
Pinkie suddenly zoomed in between all her friends and stopped in front of Marshmallow. "Ooo! Marshmallow huh? Is it a he or she? Can we eat mars-" Discord covered Pinkie's mouth suddenly. "You can eat marshmallows with it all I want, I don't care. And I don't know what gender it is." Discord answered her.
"Its a she Discord. I thought I told you on the letter." Fluttershy replied. "And also..It might not be a good idea to feed her marshmallows..It might make her sick."
"Oh...I might of ripped that box to shreds..Hehe.." Fluttershy let out a sigh of disappointment as Twilight quickly interrupted. "Well, why don't we go on and have some free time with our pets now." The others nodded in agreement as they began playing with their pets.
Fluttershy spilled out the toys and treats for the pets. A red ball suddenly caught Marshmallow's attention and she bounded over to it, grabbing it, and bringing it back to Discord wagging her tail. Discord grinned as he levitated the ball out of her mouth and suddenly threw it aside. Marshmallow went to go grab it when she was soon grabbed by his magic and lifted into the air.
"Annndd...FETCH!" Discord yelled as he threw Marshmallow as hard as he could as she went flying into the distance howling. The Mane Six all watched with wide eyes of terror as her howling slowly faded.
"D-Discord...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" Twilight asked through fear.
"Sssh..Watch." Discord replied as they waited for a bit and the howling started to come back. He opened his arms wide as he caught Marshmallow once again. She was wearing a hat now suddenly and a few stamps on her fur, yet, she was unharmed. Fluttershy fainted suddenly as the rest of the ponies who were once holding their breath let go and panted.
"Never..Do that again. For the love of Equestria.." Applejack said through gasps of relief.
"What? We practice these kind of things all the time at home!"
"A-All..T-The time?.." Rarity soon fainted as well.

"Wait! One more thing before you all go.." Discord now looked down at Marshmallow and winked. She clearly got the message as she got into formation again. She sat down, balancing the fork again. Discord appearing under her and lifting her up all the way up into the air. She stood on one hind leg and held the fork on her nose still. Though, something suddenly went wrong. Marshmallow let out a painful yelp and collapsed from her stance into Discord's paws as the fork fell as well.

Marshmallow?..
Discord stopped now as he carried his dog in his paws. Marshmallow seem to be hurting as she was whimpering in his paws.
"Marshmallow?..Are you alright?" He asked. He was only met with whimpers and her nuzzling her head into his lion paw.
"What's wrong?" Fluttershy asked, coming closer to take a closer look at Marshmallow. Her gaze stared at the dog for a bit before she came to a conclusion. "We have to take her to a vet, now!" Fluttershy grabbed Marshmallow from Discord's paws and flew off with her. "Hey! She's my dog you know!" Discord yelled after her.

"Discord?..You may come in." He looked up, seeing a vet call over to him standing outside a room near by. He walked over to them as they shut the door behind him. He sat down on a chair in the room as the vet pulled out a clipboard with lots of information written down on it.
"Well, we took some tests and it seems your dog happens to have some type of cancer. She may have to go in for.." Discord completely tuned out everything the vet said after that as his eyes widened and seem to be in another world. He started flash backing to everything that happened in the past week and months. Him cuddling with Marshmallow, playing dog with Marshmallow, sleeping together. This couldn't be happening...
"Discord?..Discord where are you going!? Sir!" The vet called out as Discord ran out of the room.
Again, time slowly past. Discord was told Marshmallow had to stay at the vet so that she could recover and receive her medication. However, Discord never went home either after that. He did go back home to pick up things once in awhile but he stayed beside her side every day through her recovery. Even when others told him he probably should of went home and got some rest on a actual comfy bed, he refused and stayed beside her. He even refused to stay at Fluttershy's house which was a bit concerning. He would either lie with her on her bed or lie on a uncomfortable chair curled up. It didn't really matter to be honest. He just wanted to be there with Marshmallow and make sure she was okay.
At the moment, Discord was lying with Marshmallow on her bed. He had his head lied close to her as she lied her head on his. She was giving out shallow breaths as he petted her with his lion paw. However, the shallow breathing suddenly stopped. Maybe she finally relaxed? He looked up at her to see her body slowly fall limp. He looked into her big brown eyes as they slowly closed and shut entirely.
"Marshmallow?....MARSHMALLOW!?" He shouted as he held up the lifeless dog now. "No, no, no, NO!" It seemed ponies had heard his yelling though as two vets burst in through the door.
"What's going on here?" The vet asked but quickly noticed. "Sir, I will have to ask you to get out of the room please." The vet quickly said as they galloped up to the bed about to take Marshmallow from him.
"No! Please! Don't do it!"
"Sir, if you want us to help her you have to give her to us so we can help!"
"No! I love her!" His voice echoed as he yelled and a blinding light blocked out all of his vision.

Discord slowly opened his eyes now as he was greeted with a blue glittery sky around him. He seem to be floating in some kind of galaxy looking place. He looked down at his paws seeing they were a yellow sparkly color. He looked down more to see all of himself was the same color.
"Hm..This is new."
He suddenly floated down to a sparkly trail of stars and stood on it. He was sure he had seen this place before. Perhaps it was the Celestial Plane? It didn't really matter however. If he was here maybe he could find Marshmallow. He began running along the sparkly trail, following it through the same galaxy looking scenery. He soon stumbled upon dark looking black clouds that were all gathered together. They thundered and glowed a black aura.
"Well, from what I already know from dreams, storm clouds always mean trouble."
He snapped as a swarm of flash bees went straight at the black clouds, stinging the clouds all together. The clouds started to clear as the flash bees chased them off somewhere else. What was revealed from the black clouds interested Discord. A dark magic of some kind was enveloped around a glowing orb. It seemed to be trying to get out but the dark magic was holding it in. Discord already knew what would defeat this kind of magic.
He placed his paw to his heart as if he was doing his undoing spell for his chaos but instead revealed to be casting some kind of spell of love and light. Pink and yellow colors flashed from underneath his paw until he let it go straight at the dark magic. The dark magic disappeared as soon as the magic hit it and revealed the glowing orb. The glowing orb slowly floated down to Discord before flashing a bit and revealing Marshmallow. She was blue and sparkly instead of yellow and sparkly like Discord. She barked and floated into Discord's paws. Discord felt happiness wash over him to see his dog again, embracing her as another bright flash happen to occur.
You know, there's no point in explaining anything about me. Just go to where the dog is dropped off alright?
Whilst lounging around on the ceiling, Discord heard a knock on his door. As if gravity had been switched on, all of his items and himself that were once on the ceiling fell to the ground with a loud bang . It was regular for somepony to knock on his door at around this time. Wait, did this dimension even have time? A sun or moon would never come out. It was always wavy purple colors in his chaotic world. Well, according to Ponyville time, it was morning. So yes, it was the correct time.
Discord got up from his chair as he snapped himself to his door. It was most likely that crazy stallion mail pony who was always willing to strike out into his dimension and try and not get killed to just deliver mail to him. He probably should of been getting medals and awards for how long he had been doing this dangerous job and hadn't dropped out. Discord felt a twinge of guilt for him but not enough to make it easier for the poor pony.
He opened the door and sure enough he was there. He looked even more awful then usual however. His uniform was ripped and had holes in it and his usual hat was gone. Maybe one of his creatures from his dimension swiped it away? However, it wasn't the usual mail it seemed the pony had. He had a big brown box beside him with holes and a few little stamps.
"Bonjour my adventurer of my chaos dimension. You're not looking too good today." Discord greeted him as he leaned on the side of his house.
"You..Have..No..Idea.." The mail pony said through gasps, having a bit of a wisp as he talked. "I..Have..A..Parcel..Just..T-Take it.." He nudged the box over to Discord now as he backed away from it.
Discord stared down at the large box confused. He didn't say anything back to the pony as he teleported inside his house with it. Unfortunately for the mail pony, he was soon grabbed by a mutant eagle and carried off somewhere else across his dimension. It didn't seem like the mail pony cared however.
Once Discord was inside, he had seated himself on his couch and put the big box on a table. He stared at it for awhile before suddenly growing large claws and tearing it open like some kind of wild animal. The box was soon covered in scratches as the top popped open. He peeked in when suddenly he felt two small paws touch his face and bark.
Its My Fault You're This Way
Fluttershy was gently waiting outside with her friends pacing nervously. She to like Discord was thinking bad thoughts about what might happen to Marshmallow.
"You know, it would make sense if she had a broken leg or something. He did throw her across Equestria." Rainbow suddenly interrupted the silence.
"Rainbow! Don't say things like that! You know this is Discord's first pet and he didn't know what was right from wrong since he never really had anypony to teach him! You should be ashamed of yourself for saying that!" Fluttershy laid it on Rainbow before putting her hooves to her mouth. "O-Oh..I-I'm sorry..I..Didn't realize how rude I suddenly got.." Fluttershy apologized just as she heard the doors to the animal hospital open.
"Discord? Is she-" But just as she asked, Discord zoomed by running on all fours. He blew Fluttershy's mane in her face as he started running straight for Ponyville Lake.
"Where's he goin' in such a hurry?" Applejack asked.
"Lets find out." Twilight said as she began galloping for Ponyville Lake as well as the rest of her friends following her.
As soon as Discord got there, he lied down on the ground and covered his face letting out small cries of both despair and sorrow. It was not long though when he heard the sounds of a group galloping and get even closer to him. He removed his paws from his face as he looked elsewhere to make sure nopony would see him crying.
"Discord?..Are you okay?" Fluttershy asked softly, slowly approaching him as the others stood off at a fair distance. However, he didn't respond. "Are you upset about Marshmallow? Did something happen to her?" Fluttershy asked again as she slowly sat behind Discord. "...She has cancer." Discord spoke in a low mumbled voice.
Fluttershy let out a gasp. "That's terrible! Oh I'm so sorry Discord." Fluttershy lowered her ears now as she placed her hoof on Discord's back.
"Don't be. It's not your fault."
"Your right. Its nopony's fault. Not even yours. You didn't do it. I didn't even know Marshmallow was that way before I gave her to you. I found her all alone as a stray so I thought you would be able to give her a good home." Fluttershy reassured him, giving him a nuzzle. Suddenly Discord turned around and embraced the small yellow pegasus.
"T-Thank you..T-Thank you f-for giving her t..to me." Discord said trying not to cry. Fluttershy smiled and returned the hug to him.
"I guess all we have to do is wait for her now. I'm sure she'll be fine." Fluttershy replied, letting him go. As soon as Discord was ready, they all walked together as a group back.
"Marshmallow!"
"Marshmallow! You're okay! Again!" Discord held out his arms as Marshmallow jumped up into them, licking him all over his face as he laughed and cried of happiness. She was suddenly stopped from doing so though when he suddenly picked her up and held her in the air in front of his face.
"Don't you ever do that to me again. Alright? You really scared me and its not easy to make me cry." He said, sternly looking at her. Marshmallow seem to have a look of fear suddenly. He then broke the tense air as he hugged her again laughing. "You should of seen your face! Priceless!"
"Discord!" Fluttershy said happily as she bounded into the room suddenly.
"Look who returned. Also, what are you doing here?"
"I heard the great news from the vets. They said she was suddenly just better. Although, their not feeling too well. Something about hitting their heads hard?" Fluttershy said as she sat on the bed with them.
And then suddenly the vision of him yelling at the vets and the bright flash appeared back in his mind. "Oh..I wonder why..Hehe.." He rubbed the back of his mane casually, pretending he had no idea.
"Oh well, I'm just glad she's alright." Fluttershy smiled, petting Marshmallow's head. "Well, what do you think your going to do now that she's okay now?"
"Oh..I have a few ideas in mind.."

Back at their home, Discord was on a beach sun tanning and wearing sunglasses as Marshmallow ran up to him with a ball.
"Oh come on Marshmallow, that's not how we play fetch."
Marshmallow suddenly lied down on her back.
"That's better." He grinned as he picked her up again as she went flying like a boomerang across the beach howling.
